Little words can mean so much, even when in a world of myth and magic. Can this strange man adapt to this stranger world? Can he gain the control of his inner-and new outer-demons. Fallow Andrew through his quest in becoming Equestria's newest villain… wait, he's not the villain?

Prologue: Rude Awakening

Awake, O Child, and gaze upon your new world!

I’ve heard of people experiencing this. A place between sleep and consciousness, stuck in a deep thought, where time is completely meaningless, located somewhere in the deep recesses of your mind pondering nothing; and everything at the same time. Honestly, it’s kinda boring. I really don’t have any existential problems to think about, so I’m here; staring at the back of my eyelids wondering why I’m not fully awake… Oh well, better enjoy this free time while it last.

“We can’t keep him Luna”

Was that a voice; it sounded stern but caring. Kinda like my Mom. Although it was much sterner than caring, the compassion was still evident.

“Come now sister, it looks so forlorn,”

That voice sounded much more carefree but equally commanding; also a little whiney.

“I said no, you sensed his power. Don’t give me that face! We are not keeping him here.”

The voices are getting louder, I must be getting up!

“Luna, I said NO,”

“But sister he is so unique and new. He could be my pet,”

*SLAP*”Luna for all you know he could actually be intelligent.”

Now that first voice sounds like she’s annoyed. That slap also sounded like it hurt.

“Really Cele, Thou are too serious sometimes. Besides, he could be friendly,”

“Luna, no one with that amount of shadow magic is, "friendly"

“But wha-“

“Luna I said NO!”

That woke me up, “Good GOD can you yell,” I sat up in bed and began to stretch the knots out of my body. After my morning gymnastics were done I rubbed my eyes and noticed that the room had fallen into utter silence. Without opening my eyes I decided to ask the immediate question “is something the matter?”

When I still didn’t receive an answer I opened my eyes to the blurred vision of new consciousness. I quickly shook my head and wiped my eyes to clear them, what I saw was definitely not what I expected. Before me stood two …. I'll use the term “Horse” lightly because they both had a unicorn horn and pegasus wings on each of them. The one to my left had a sterling white coat, its mane and tail billowing in a nonexistent breeze with colors matching the spectrum of the dusk. It had stunning hot pink eyes and a shocked expression on its face. The second was very similar to the first in form, but that was about it. This horse was shorter than the second and had a navy blue coat; its mane and tail was reminiscent of the night sky studded with stars and strange constellations. It had piercing cobalt eyes and a rather jovial expression. Both had tiaras and some sort of regalia bearing symbols of the sun and moon respectively. Oh, and ordinate shoes; who knew horses wore shoes going to their ankles.

After several more moments of silent observation. and rude staring in general, I came to a conclusion and decided to answer the most appropriate way I knew how in this situation.

“Jesus, how much did I smoke?”

At this, the first horse lets out a rather feminine scream and glanced to her left before that horn began to… glow? Hmm; exactly how high am I? I sluggishly looked to my right to see what caught her attention. There I saw an elegant, beautiful vase- it seemed it was getting bigger.
