They shuffled towards us, dead eyes blank and unmoving as one bared his sharp teeth. The other, two blood encrusted axes. Aria was beside me, her pistol raised to finish them, I raised mine but i felt so weak from fighting up to this point. like I was an oil torch about to go out. My other love Sonata Dusk cuddled my side fear in her eyes as the zombies shambled closer and closer.

''John! they're getting closer! You must stop them, they'll kill you! John I love you don't give up!'' She says to me as I still feel like I can't fight anymore. My trigger finger aches and it really feels like I took one too many bites.

''Sonata, I...I can't, it..hurts to shoot. Sonata I love you.'' and the Cyrill zombie brought its ax down on me again and my last hit was spent. Aria tried to go without my, but solo it wasn't easy. Sonata held me in her arms and sobed softly over me. ''Sonata? Is that you?'' I asked as the count down ticked. She brushed my aquamarine hair lovingly.

''Yes John I'm here my love, stay with me John.'' She said sobbing softly. I could feel my time running out. She brought her face close to mine as I tried to hand her my gun.

"Take it, catch up with Aria and finish off Goldman, Save venice." I told her trying to pass it off to her, but she refused it.

"No John, I could never be as good as you in this. I love you John." She placed her lips on mine and kissed me deeply and tenderly. I felt her warm hands on my head and neck as Aria turned to us and scoffed softly.

"Get a room you two." She said as the Boss rush attacked her on the game of House of the dead 2.

"Do you idiots have to do that every time we play video games?" Adagio asked as she made a stunt jump on a game of Crusin USA, she was quite a driver on that game. The Dazzlings, Rainbooms and some other friends of ours had gone out on Friday night to a place called the Plaza Theater. The theater had been built in the prime of the golden age of Hollywood, the age of blonde bombshells, celluloid spectacles, and epics, the grand mother load of epics. The architecture was the sandstone of fine gothic masonry, and the guilded brass of the buttresses glimmered in the moonlight. On the roof; long ago, there had once been a stone and copper statue of St. George slaying the dragon. In it's heyday, it had been a wonder of mechanical engineering. Designed to use cranks, gears, springs and sprockets to give the apperance of a copper St. George in action.

The mechanics had long been abandoned, but something even grander had taken its place. Now the theater roof housed a forty feet by twenty feet animatronic T-Rex. Every hour on the Hour the thing would spring to life with a loud roar that echoed across the town square. Then it would shake and tilt its head for the spectators who would look up at the marvel in awe. Inside the lobby was like a grand ballroom, which given the era it was constructerd in it kinda was. You see back in the days before multiplex's and the simplicity of movie going. You know the routine; get your ticket, load up on snacks, and sit down. The guests at movie theathers would wait the time between showtimes mingling and socializing  as if it was a grand galloping gala goning one inside.

The main lobby was a vast and cavernous as said ballroom, with all three levels sans the stair cases to the upper levels covered in fine carpeting.  The staircases were all solid marble with brass reliefs and globes built into the banisters. Low lighting cast a mellow feeling over everything from level one to three, but it was definitely less illuminated these days than in the theatre's heyday.

You see, The Plaza wasn't just a run of the mill movie theater that ran the movies in circulation as they were released. In addition to them, they had an entire vault stocked with the reel of films from the classic epics of Ben Hur and The Ten Commandments, to the sci-fi double features of It Came From Outer Space and Forbidden Planet. They still owned the film projectors needed to screen these movies, and they had permission from the original distributors to screen them. They did so during special events, entire blocks of films of the past re-released to recreate the way they had been experienced so long ago.

The Plaza wasn't a theater owned by any major companies like AMC, it was owned by a trust of owners. One those included dear Principal Celestia and Vice Principal Luna. They were partial owners of the theatre so the dramas could use the stage (yes they had a real stage at The Plaza) when there wasn't any screenings going on. Which in turn meant the place was very familiar with Canterlot High students like us.

So with the deails out the way, and hopfully you have a clearer picture of the place painted in your mind. The Dazzlings and I went on our merry way to buy our tickets. Other students milled about hitting the arcade games, talking shop over paper cups of coke, or heading for the theaters to catch their showtimes. Another detail I should mention. While the main auditorium was the original single screen, and not just any screen. The main stage auditorium still had an actual Cinemascope screen. In short, the screen was three seperate screens that had three projectors set up with three anamorphic lenses, theoretically allowing the process to create an image of up to a 2.66:1 aspect ratio. even if the film being screened wasn't initally in that aspect ratio, every film was screened on that screen.

In order to run multiple screenings over the day, additional auditoriums had been constructed with hallways like the connectors on airplane runways. The Dazzlings and I walked up to the counter under the second floor landing, two girls with red and white hair, curly like frosting but the coloration of...bacon? With straw hats and blue and white striped button ups running the consession stand. They turned to the four of us and smiled.

''Well dear sister Sham what have we here? The girl on the right said filling a red and white striped box up with popcorn. As her sister filledtook a soda nozzle and filled up a cup of soda.

''Why Shim, I believe it's patrons for our movie night tonight, tell us good patrons do you know what tonight's theme at the Plaza theater is? The one I presumed to be Sham said cheerfully. As her sister pointed up to the showtimes for inside the main auditorium.

"Hmm all of the main auditorium features are from 1996 to 2001." Shim Said as she took a playful sip of her soda . While her sister tapped on the ticket printer.

"What's so important about those years? Sonata asked placing a finger on her chin quizzically." As they two continued their little routine.

"Well you see dear girl, for many who lived fully grown at the time often see it as a time when those films were shhhiiteee!" (shite) It was...odd they way they acted, it wasn't EXACTLY singing, it didn't even really rhyme, but they keep on emphasizing and using melodic tones while they sang/spoke.

"But to ones like us we often back and say sooo what?" Sham picked up where her sister left off. "Tonight is a night to look back on the past and say being a failure is quite alright!" She said as Sham fed her sister a handful of her popcorn while shim guided the soda straw to her sister's mouth. Before resuming normal speaking to say.

"So how many showings will it be for you four?" She said smiling and giving us (especailly me) some cute flirty eyes. Adagio turned to us and asked.

"So what's playing tonight?" I looked up and checked the listings. Independence Day at five o'clock, Event Horizion after that with a double feature with The Lost World, followed by Godzilla and Lethal Weapon 4. I said reading the showtimes. "These are "bad" movies?" I said wondering why these films were the choices for the "dark age" night at the cinema. My words prompted Sham to look at me with sympathetic eyes locking into mine.

"To many they are, but to each his own WE like to say." she said as Aria turned to look at her.

"You admire these movies, don't you ladies?" She said smirking knowingly at them both. They turned to look at each other, before back to us.

"We admire them because others don't, everything deserves some admiration and love." Sham said solemnly before her sister added.

"Even what others see as failures." With that we bought our tickets and rounded up our friends. We found Rainbow Dash and Gilda Shooting hoops at the free throw games. Rainbow made her basketball bounce on the carpeted floor before saying to Gilda.

''Awww yeah Gilds, you got forty-five secs to make the basket and beat my score, think you can do it?'' She asked giving her all too familiar cocky Rainbow Dash smirk of confidence.

''You forget who your challenging Dash?'' She said she bounced and dribbled her basketball, not caring for the counting down timer.

Adagio whistled between her fingers for them. "Let's go you two! The first show starts in twenty and this place is packed! We need to get our seats now!" Gilda turned to us and scoffed.

"Just give me a few. I was just about to one up Dash's high score!" Her basketball score was 67 and Dash's was 68. "If I make this last basket i'll beat her with a solid 69!" She said bouncing the ball on the floor. Her choice words made Sonata blush and giggle into her hands coyly.

"Oh grow up Sonata!" Aria said with a scoff, I found her tendency quite cute, she was my girl after all. We watched as Gilda took the shot as the counter on the backboard ticked down the last few seconds. The ball glided through the air, If Gilda had wings, I'm sure they'd be popped open right now as she watched the ball circle the hoop, and sailed right in.

"HA ! YES! SCORE! Awww yeah Dash who's number one!" Gilda said as she did a little victory dance. Friends or otherwise, Gilda was a girl who loved to show off and rub in the times she won evn the simplest of things, but then again..so was Rainbow.

"You did good Gilds." She said hugging her gal pal tight before joing up with us. "Now let's get the others before the show starts okay?" She said as they joined up with us. We made our way along the halls and the atmosphere just felt so...I can't truly onvey it. Friends being friends, just hanging out and enjoying the company of each other AS good friends. I looked to see friends from school Octavia abd Vinyl. As they Split an order of cheese fries with that guy Vinyl met at Starlight's Halloween party. Soarin and Spitfire ordered a jumbo soda from the consession stand and stuck two straws in it. Spitfire cuddled his side as she locked eyes with him and they sipped the soda together. "Who's let to join up with us?" Rainbow asked.

"Just Sunset and Flash." Adagio answered, "I wonder were they could...oh that figures." She pointed to a game of Let's Go Jungle! an on rails shooter aboput a coupple on a jungle vaction fighting for their lives against hordes of giant mutant insects. They both were on the final bous stagfe of the game, where the goal was to catch an engagement ring before it fell into the ocean while being attacked by a final boss. It waqs all done to FLash, I could see it in his eyes, the determination the cxoncentration, the tension to show skill to the girl he loved. It took all his concentration annnnd...he missed.

"Awwww Damn it!" he shouted using all his reserve to not punch a hole in the screen. "I'm sorry Sunset, I tried to really make us have a perfect game this time." Sunset only smiled as she wrapped her arms around him and kissed his cheek softloy.m I couldn't hear what she whispered to him in his ear, but whatever it was, I'm sure it something along the lines of 'you didn't have to be a good shot to impress me.'

"hey! you town done with that or do we have to reschedule the tickets?" I shouted over the crowd sounds to them. My words seemed to have caught the attention of Sham Rock as she then shouted to me.

"No refunds pally!" With a finger pointing to all sales final written on a sandwhich board.

"I said reschedule Sham, reSCHEDULE!" I shouted back hopiong she understood.

"My mistake buddy boy!" She said giving an awkward shrug.

So we made out way to the mezzanine level to get a good view of the show, but just as we walked in, Aria grabbed by the arm and sat me down on  a stone bench as our friends went in the theater. "Aria what are you?" She sushed me by placing a finger on my lips before looking at me with a half lidded gaze as she guided my hand to the thigh of her pants.

"Shhh, don't talk John." She said as she ran her finger over my lips, the blood began to leave my head and travel south to the zipper of my khakis. "Just..." She said in a hushed whisper and leaned closer to me. "Kiss me." With that she planted her lips on my passionatley as she wrapped her arms around my waist and drew me closer to her. Our lips pressed together tenderly as she slipped me the tip of her tongue, which I accepted gladly. I sucked on her tongue tip as she slid the entire length of the wet, slippery muscle. She let out a load moan down my throat as I took her light purple pigtails in my hands like handlebars, and twisted them.

"I love you." I said breaking our kiss as softly as possible as she let out a soft squeak from having her hair tugged a bit. She looked at me with a devious glint in her eyes.

"Follow me." she said taking me by tthe arm again and lead me almost aimlessly aroun away from the theater untill we came to the ladies restroom.

"We really shouldn't." What was I saying? Of course we really should! What are you saying dumbass!? She reached for the door and looked around to be sure no one could see us. "What if someone sees? Or comes in?" Her only response was to take the out of order sign and place it on the door. She guestured with her finger as a hint of nature of siren faintly returned. Those thin shinny wing like fins on her back, and her long pointed head fins on her head before they vanished as fast as they appeared. She made a "come hiter" gesture with her fingers before letting two words roll off her tongue .

"Fuck me." Looks like this night out at the movies will be a lot more...interesting then i thought it would initially be.
