I won't lose here
This is how this all began
I wondered if what Twilight was doing would work. We knew almost nothing about the Elements of Harmony. Could she really get it to work
She vanished
"Twilight, where are you?"
"Look!" I gestured towards the other tower, where Twilight and Nightmare Moon had gone.
"Come on!", Applejack said.
You little foal! Thinking you could defeat me? Now you will never see your princess, or your sun! The night will last forever!
I rushed out with my friends to meet Twilight. "Don't worry, we're here," I said.
The Elements of Harmony were ruined. Shattered into dozens and dozens of pieces.
It's kind of terrifying, now that I think of it.
"This can't be happening!" Twilight was panicking. "No, no, no, no, no! You've got to run!"
That's when I remember it all going downhill
You foals! BOW BEFORE ME, THE PRINCESS OF THE NIGHT!
"Never... you can take away the sun, but we will never obey you!"
"FINE!", she bellowed. All of us were thrown against the wall.
I ran as soon as I was free. I was too scared to even check on my friends. I remember hurting all over, but I couldn't make a sound.
How could I even call myself their friend.
I hid in a room and shut the door. That's when it arrived.
"It's a pity you six couldn't stop her. I had such high hopes for you too," It said.
Was this just another one of Nightmare Moon's tricks? I've never seen such a weird creature before
I whispered, "What? What are you doing here?"
"You can call me Kyubey. I'm here because of the eternal night. It's really a huge problem for us.. Without the sun, everybody will run out of food, and you'll eventually freeze or starve." It scratched itself with its enormous ears.
I shook my head in frustration. It didn't look worried at all. "So, can you help us?"
"Huh, it looks like she left. I'll have plenty of time." It looked up. "There's a way, Rarity. You have the potential to stop this eternal night, if you make a contract with me. There are a few ways for you to do it, actually. You could try to defeat her by force, if you became strong enough. You could try finding a way to cure her. Or, you could try to gather the elements of Harmony again, but you'd need a replacement for the sixth element. Or..."
What was Kyubey talking about then? How did he know so much?
I yelled at it. "What happened to Twilight?"
"She's dead. Nightmare moon killed her."
I stared in shock. How could I let that happen to her
It continued, "In exchange for ending the eternal night, I'll grant your wish. You have the potential to stop her."
"I wish that Twilight was alive again!"
"No, I can't do that. She's been dead for too long, and the damage can't be reversed."
"What?" I glared at it. "There's no way to do that? I wish I could go back and save her from this!"
It looked up at me. "Your wish was enough to overcome entropy." It reached out towards me, and a radiant gemstone necklace appeared, along with strange clothes and an odd bracelet.
I wonder if Nightmare Moon saw any of that light
"Another thing. If you don't gather enough Grief seeds, your extra powers will run out. They look like this." It gestured to a pitch black ornament, which it then ate.
"You get them from witches, which are hide throughout Ponyville, making and feeding on despair. You can use the Soul Gem to find them." It gestured to my necklace.
I asked it, "is that all?"
"Yes, unless you have any questions."
"Thank you." Without thinking, I activated my bracelet, hoping to save Twilight from her death.
I woke up in bed, seeing the sun rise.
"What an awful nightmare!" I washed my face in the sink, and looked at the mirror.
That necklace was still there.
