Rarity wanted to know if gems can store magic and both were curious as well as to how it can be done so both agreed. The purple and green dragon and lavender unicorn spotted the white and purple fashion expert standing in the middle of her shop which was currently clear of the dummies used to display Rarity's finished works. "Ah thanks for coming over you two I appreciate that your helping me with this project" said Rarity giving a smile to the two. "It's no problem but just to be safe can you run it by us why we are doing this" asked Spike getting a scroll and quill ready with a pot of ink. "Well Twilight makes it no secret her talent with magic is a kind of jack of all trades in the subject, it got me to thinking about the implications my own talent has to my own magic. That led me to thinking on different branches of spell crafting. I eventually decided to create my own style of magic just in case I need to defend myself that can be used by those with talents involving gems if their unicorns. So I thought that getting a dragon's opinion on Gem Magic as well as another unicorn who is a magic expert to help do research and develop it" said Rarity blushing lightly understanding why Spike asked that. This is largely unexplored magic and it could be dangerous if they were not careful. She currently had one of each type of gem from amber, ruby, emerald, sapphire, pearl, quartz, diamond, and onyx, etc, out and evenly spaced around her. "And as Spike is the only dragon around and I was on hoof we were the only choice you had for this. But I can see why you would want to do so. Those Diamond Dogs were not a pleasent experience" said Twilight giving a amused face. "Yes ... quite" huffed Rarity. And so the testing began and Spike learned that five of the gems had a elemental affinity much to Rarity's surprise. "Let's see ruby is fire, sapphire is water, emerald is wind and topaz is land. The diamond has hints of the other four. Amber seems to be general. Onyx seems to act as a catalyst for the charged gems. Pearls seem to be dimensional if the gravity effect leads to be beleived. Quartz is obviously time, Amethyst is ready to be tested" said Rarity as Spike wrote down current results. It was then they learned the amethyst acted as a good amplifier when two streams of magic struck the quartz and pearl at the same time while touching the onyx. Spike dropped his notes in shock as he and rarity were to close to the event. "What's going on!" Asked Spike shocked and before Twilight can react from her shock all the gems flashed blinding her and when it died down she gasped. There was a strange contraption before her much like a two wheeled carriage colored black with blue lines and sitting on it was a older version of Spike in what looked like a black vest and blue shorts with Rarity who looked altered with some dragon like traits giving her claws and wings alongside a reptilian tail. Both looked around before becoming relaxed. She seemed to be wearing a black modified shirt and a blue skirt. "Looks like we are back Spike I really think we are home again" said Rarity her voice showing she hasn't changed much. "Back? What are you talking about you two and what in tartarus happened to you all I saw was a flash" asked Twilight bringing their attention to her. "It's a long and hard to beleive story dear" said Rarity sharing a look with Spike. "It was a resonance boost Twilight. The amethyst boosted the spacial effect of the pearl and the temporal ability of the quartz where they reacted to each other creating a rift. To you a second had passed but to us years went by. To be honest I never thought I would see equestria again" said Spike. "We got sent to another universe Twilight. It took me months to create a stable repeat to try and get us home managed to make it safe. But we ended up going all over reality trying to get home" said Rarity. "As for how Rarity became like this that's for when we tell our adventures with the others. Have we got a lot to tell you" said Spike. Both got off the machine and Twilight noted the strange shaped buckles on both of her friends as well as the rings on Rarity's uh claws. Rarity had a buckle that resembled a blunted five fingered claw while Spike had what seemed to be a red peice of red tech with a slot for something on it. To her shock she saw Spike tug his off and the belt it was attached to vanished. He then slid the buckle into the inside of his vest. After everyone else was gathered including Celestia and luna who looked curious as to the changes to the bearer of generosity looked to the two patiently. "OK you know me and Rarity were going into researching gem magic earlier with twilight's help right well a accident opened a rift that took me and Rarity to another universe so while a second passed in this universe me and Rarity have been gone for about 24 years" said Spike making their eyes widen. "How was this possible" asked Celestia curious. "Pearls are connected to dimension magic and quartz is obviously time. Combined they created a event that created a bridge to another world. Turned out rarity and I being in the circle of gems was caught in the range of the event and was pulled through. The quartz was responsible for the difference in time" said Spike in explination. "So tell us what happened in this alternate world now you got me curious" said Rainbow Dash her attention fixed on the two. "I think you mean worlds. It took us 24 years to perfect a way between world's just to get back" said Rarity huffing as a ring of white smoke came out of her mouth making the gathered blink. "It's best we start from the beginning of our journey" said Spike rolling his eyes. "Please don't interrupt us while we do so it will take a few weeks to get through everything" said Rarity giving them a look. "The first world we ended up in was a world of beings we never imagined called the mushroom kingdom" said spike. Author's Note Hello everyone! Nice to see you all again! Now to clear up some changes in this story Spike didn't develop that crush on rarity and instead Rarity doesn't know she was the one with the crush until later in the story. And yes this is a kind of displaced fic but of quite a few diferences. For one Spike and Rarity are the displaced and they are traveling the multiverse. There is going to be arcs per world and they obviously pick up quite a few abilities in this story. Just what they get is up to me. I already picked the first world they are going to so they can get their means of transport between worlds. With that said first arc is let's ride!
