At this moment while the setup for the Hearts & Hooves Day party was being setup in Town Hall, we find Sunset Shimmer entering to find Derpy at work. From how much was being setup, it probably be another two hours before it’s ready for the big day today. But Sunset decided that maybe she can speak with someone she knows from the Monster Hunting Agency, & so she went up to surprise Derpy who noticed she had company with her today during the setup.
“Oh, hey Sunset!” Derpy waved off in saying hello to a friend.
“Hey Derpy, how are things going here?” Sunset stated off to return the response.
“Pretty good. We’re almost ready.” Derpy smiled off in stating of how things are going.
“You mean the Hearts & Hooves Day?” Sunset pointed out in knowing what’s going on that will be big when it’s ready.
“Yep, I’m gonna ask if Time Turner wants to join me for the party we’re having here.” Derpy smiled off to happily say this about what she’s gonna do during the party.
“Hugh, I wonder if I should ask Flash to join me as well.” Sunset rubbed her chin in having an ideal thought over the matter.
“Well, why not have him join us?” Derpy asked this off in being a bit more thinking on the topic.
“What are you talking about?” Sunset raised an eyebrow in finding that strange to be requested.
“Well, maybe you & me can ask the guys to have some nice romantic time during the party.” Derpy stated off in making a thoughtful suggestion that can help them out with their own dates.
“Like a…Double Date?” Sunset slowly spoke off in getting what the pony was suggesting.
“What’s that?” Derpy asked off to raise her cross-eyes in being lost in thought.
“Where two guys or girls ask the other to join them in having a nice time together.” Sunset explained the case of how it works when two people of the same gender ask someone of the opposite gender they like to join them for some fun.
“That sure sounds a lot of fun.” Derpy smiled off in getting the idea now.
“It is, so what do you think, wanna plan this out during the party?” Sunset asked this off if Derpy wanted to be a part of it.
“Sure thing, just gotta wait for my muffin order to be done first.” Derpy nodded off to say this in knowing that she is in without a doubt.
“What is it with you & muffins?” Sunset asked off in having seen & heard this pony always go on about muffins, why is that?
“What’s wrong with liking muffins?” Derpy simply spoke off this from not knowing what the big deal was.
“Um, you know what, never mind.” Sunset slowly shook her head off in deciding that the question was not important no more.
In a little while, the Hearts & Hooves Day party was already on the way. Many ponies are seen having fun & enjoying themselves with their dates. And Flash Sentry was on the spot as Sunset brought the guy in the area to see & enjoy the wonders around here.
“Thanks for inviting me here Sunset.” Flash thanked the girl for having brought him along.
“No problem Flash.” Sunset responded off in stating that it was fine.
“So what is it that we’re waiting for here?” Flash asked off in being curious about something on his mind.
“Derpy, where are we going?” Then entering the scene was Time Turner as he was with Derpy that brought them over to Sunset & Flash’s spot.
“Time Turner?” Flash raised an eyebrow in what the mechanical tech-wiz pony was doing here.
“Why Flash, so you & Sunset are here as well.” Time Turner stated off in seeing who was here as well.
“Yeah, so I guess you came with Derpy.” Flash nodded off to say this in following along in who was here & such.
“She asked me to come over here after giving me a muffin!” Time Turner exclaimed about what was going o that had left him a bit in the dark of what Derpy is up to.
The stallions were a bit in their own thoughts of what was going on until….they slowly turn to the mares that were smirking under their hidden expressions to not laugh out now.
“Sunset, what’s going on here?” Flash asked off in being curious of what his love was going on about.
“Well Flash, I figured that since its Hearts & Hooves Day, that we can have a special romantic event in our respective ways.” Sunset stated out in being honest about what she & Derpy were planning this entire time.
“Yep, so Sunset & me talked & came up with this great idea in having a Double Date with you guys.” Derpy nodded off to happily state this off in what they are planning.
“A double date? Hmm….intriguing, that isn’t used too much around here. At least, last I checked.” Time Turner thought this over in coming to terms about the actual idea of such a thing.
“Probably because you spend a lot of time making inventions.” Flash pointed out how the guy likes to do a lot of inventing & stuff.
“I prefer to think of it as developing Equestria’s future in machinery.” Time Turner pointed out in stating what it is that he is truly trying to do.
“So, you guys wanna have some fun?” Sunset asked off in what they should do first here.
“I’m wondering to what kind of fun, you had in mind?” Flash asked off in thinking the girls have some ideas already set.
“Oh, how’s about dunking for candy apples in liquid chocolate!” Derpy raised a hoof in making a suggestion of what they can do to have some fun.
“That could be interesting, sounds like dunking for apples. Come on, let’s try it!” Sunset rubbed her chin in thinking that was an interesting idea to try out.
Soon the stallions were dragged off before they began to perform the fun task at the party. And soon we see Time Turner & Flash dunk their heads in liquid chocolate to pick up with their teeth, a candy apple while getting chocolate stain on their mouths to look like mustaches & beards.
“Wow, you look amazing with a mustache.” Sunset stated off to admire the guy she’s with in what he’s got on his nose.
“You really think so?” Flash asked off in smiling a bit sheepishly.
“Yep, even a beard looks interesting on Time Turner.” Derpy nodded off to say this about how Time Turner has a great chocolate beard.
“Hugh, first time someone liked a beard on me, even if it’s just chocolate!” Time Turner exclaimed to say this in having heard about this.
“What’s next on the to do list?” Flash asked off in what was the next thing for them to try.
“I was thinking, about winning a prize at one of the booths.” Sunset stated off in thinking about winning a prize from a booth.
“Sounds perfect, shall we go Derpy?” Time Turner stated in what they can do by partaking in that too.
“Just a minute!” Derpy was seen dunking in the chocolate to pick up three candy apples. “Alright, finished dunking, now let’s go!” She issued this off that she was now good to go now.
The group made a little chuckle in seeing Derpy was trying to get a lot of things in her mouth at once. Now we see them at a water gun booth, the task was to fill a balloon with enough water to make it pop & win a prize. So far, Flash Sentry was making the higher score of not missing in popping three balloons to earn three stuff animals. Time Turner was able to get two prizes from keeping a good balance & using logic to aid him out. And when Sunset Shimmer went, she was doing even better than Flash was in making four balloons pop.
“Wow, your pretty good on those squirt guns.” Flash stated off in having seen what was done that Sunset was pretty good here.
“Even beat your high score, didn’t I?” Sunset smiled off with pride about having up one on Flash’s best score.
“Remember Derpy, take careful aim.” Time Turner explained this off to her about being careful of where to aim.
“Right! Here goes!” Derpy focus to fire, but her aim was off that she was getting her partner wet instead of filling a rubber balloon. “Oops!” She sheepishly said in accidentally getting the stallion wet from misfiring in the wrong direction.
“Well, I guess I was the prize you were expecting to get.” Time Turner shrug off to lightly state this case about what she got out of this.
“Aw, thanks for that.” Derpy smiled off to say this in seeing that everything is going along swell.
“So, what else are we doing?” Flash asked off in what they do from here next.
“Well, I think goofing around, having dinner & watching fireworks might be on the list.” Sunset spoke off i mentioning a few other things that they can also do.
Wasn’t long before those on a double date were quickly on the move once again. And they were having pictures done of human cardboard backdrop figures on the set. Everyone poke their heads out a hole of a head to get their image taken. Of course they can be silly to mix it up a little, like Flash in a girl’s school outfit & Sunset in a beefy joke’s outfit in a school prom theme.
“Wow Flash, you look great.” Sunset smiled off to comment the guy’s little body figure.
“And I see you been working out.” Flash made a comical statement in seeing his girl really work out in building muscles.
That caused the two to laugh it off a bit while we turn to see Derpy & Time Turner, behind frame bodies of aliens & spacemen, they laugh at themselves. Next they moved onto dinner in what was going to be had at this time. There were some places outside of Ponyville where during the Hearts & Hooves Day party, many ponies can eat outside.
“Would you like to have our toss salad special?” A waiter asked off in what the guest would like tonight.
“Certain, I will have a toss salad.” Time Turner said, giving out his order.
“TOSS SALAD HERE!” The waiter yelled to the chef in they got an order for a toss salad.
Then without warning, some salad was magically tossed & landing all over Time Turner. When it was over, the guy looked like the meal was on him in a goofy way that the others held back the urge to laugh.
“Guess the meals on you, doc.” Flash smile doff to say this in making the funny joke there.
“Leave it to Cheese Sandwich to make dinners a bit more, unexpected & funny to boot.” Sunset rolled her eyes to state this about what has happened here.
“But at least we can have a great time.” Derpy smiled off to say this about the situation.
“Great, anyone have any dressings to go with my salad?” Time Turner rolled his eyes to ask this off that made everyone laugh a little more.
Later on, we see everyone watching the fireworks go off & lighting up the skies with many heart-theme designs. Everyone was having their own share of fun & loving it. Including Flash, Sunset, Time Turner & Derpy, as they were with those that they wanted to enjoy this with.
“Well now, despite a few, odd events.” Time Turner shrug off to lightly state about the things they encountered.
“Of what happened to you, you mean.” Flash pointed this off about what the guy has gone through instead that were funny.
“Yes, well, despite that, today has been…very pleasant.” Time Turner nodded off to slightly speak about this sort of matter.
“I agree!” Derpy nodded off in agreement on the matter.
“Tell me Flash, did you have a good time too?” Sunset asked this off if her guy had fun.
“I did actually, thanks for letting me be a part of this.” Flash nodded off to say he had a great time.
“I’m glad too, Happy Hearts & Hooves Day!” Sunset smiled off to nod while wishing the guy a happy holiday.
“You too.” Flash nodded off to return the compliment.
“Happy Hearts & Hooves Day to you too, Doc.” Derpy spoke off in wishing a happy holiday to Time Turner too.
“And with you, Derpy.” Time Turner exclaimed to say this with a bright smile across his face.
Now the four continue to look above in watching the firework show continue on, as they are going to remember this day for a long time. The scene begins to darken now as Derpy & Time Turner were having a wondrous time together. And even Sunset Shimmer & Flash Sentry couldn’t have had a more romantic ending to celebrate Hearts & Hooves Day….
