Birds their worms, squirrels their acorns and bear his fish. All about she fluttered, until she noticed something out of the ordinary. Where was Angel bunny? He usually was the first one to request lunch by stamping on Fluttershy's hoof, yet today he wasn't anywhere to be found. She looked where Angel bunny usually is with the bright sunny day, and finds that he's not there. How was it she didn't notice his absence until now. Getting worried she flew through Ponyville shouting out her bunny's name, "Angel! Where are you?!" All across Ponyville she searched only to find that angel wasn't there. She then remembers a special spot she had made specifically for him. His favorite spot was a place that only Fluttershy and Angel knew. It was secluded, and quiet. Fluttershy saw her white bunny near the trees and carrot patch. "Angel!" She cried in happiness. As she got closer though, she learned the devastating truth...Angel bunny was dead. Tears were streaming down her face, as she couldn't accept what she had just seen. Angel had to be playing a prank. "C-c'mone A-Angel, wake up!" She tried using her assertive voice, but it was choked up by her crying. Angel, you've got to wake up, lunch is almost done." She said knowing what she had said was partly a lie. After trying time and time again to wake her one and only best pet, she knew it was hopeless. Fluttershy now wailed in angel's special spot, alone, secluded and on a beautiful day. A random cloud had come over her head, and she knew she could swat it away at anymoment, yet, she decided not to. I'm a horrible caregiver, was a thought that had crossed her mind as she wept, and the cloud lightly pestered her. But then again she knew this was false for how much she had done for her animal friends, and how she'd strengthened the bond between two of the most unlikely of friends. Tank and Rainbow Dash were complete opposites, yet, they've always been together like the horn of a unicorn or the wings of a Pegasus. Finally reliving this fact, Fluttershy sucked in a hard breath, and swat the cloud that was pestering her away. "I must tell the others this." Fluttershy said to herself, after having an hour or so to cry about the death of her most beloved pet. As she flew past, she noticed that the sun was setting, and more notably what time it actually was. Time for dinner, was fluttershy's only thought and as she continued home, she noticed that each step she took only got shorter and shorter. Fluttershy slowly got to her door and as soon as she'd gotten to the stepped hoof on the porch of the cottage she began to go numb. 'what if the same thing happens again, what if... She stopped herself before going on to the next negative thing,.. "I won't, I must be assertive," she said as she opened the door to her cottage with every animal's dinner in tow. She trotted through handing her animals the food for their evening meal. Everything the rest of the evening went fine. There was a light sprinkle out side, the likes of which the little cloud earlier had brought, Though, now she wished for a precious bunny. She began to blame herself again, I'd let angel starve, was all she thought, as her innermost thoughts on what was right and wrong betrayed her telling her false truths. She tried to fall asleep, but couldn't so she continued on with constant tears the remainder of the night as her animal friends brought tissue for her, and tried to comfort the only one who'd comfort them. Author's Note just a random Idea I had. sorry if it got too morbid too quick, or if it was indeed way to sad to handle. The initial idea from Silver Quill and Dr.Wolf and their collaboration video on mortality and such. this is my take on their video and again sorry if this is too sad or unbearable. Storm Rival //-------------------------------------------------------// A Simple Visit //-------------------------------------------------------// A Simple Visit Fluttershy awoke the next morning with a wall of tissue right next to her. She was completely distraught at loosing her one and only pet that she'd cried herself to sleep last night in the light shower. She sighed, wishing angel were here, almost pretending he was the bunch of tissues she'd used last night. Now feeling ashamed of what she'd just done, "no, I can't replace angel, he was the best bunny a pony could ask for..." Fluttershy reminisced her first meeting with Princess Celestia a long while ago, and how he'd helped her simply get out the door. Near the end of her memory of angel, she heard a knock at the door. That knock startled her. "Hey fluttershy!" Rainbow dash said knocking at her door "Eep!" Fluttershy quietly shrieked. Oh no, she thought to herself, today can't be... "Did you forget today?" Dash said at the door. "It's pet play day today, and Tank can't wait to see Angel." Fluttershy was now silently crying on the other end of the door. Dash couldn't hear a thing and knocked again. "Hello, Fluttershy are you in there?" Dash knocks one final time. "Umm..." Fluttershy shakily responds "I'm sorry, Dash, and Tank, but uh..." "But what?" Dash quickly asks. "Angel isn't feeling all that well today." Fluttershy said mimicking one of Angel's coughs through the door. Dash then said, "well, you've got a lot of other animals in there, couldn't one of the others join us today?" "Umm" fluttershy thought for quite a bit on who else to bring. One of her song birds would fly away immediatly if they saw Gummie, Opal or even Winona. Same said on the mice squirrels And the other little ones. She then thought about the other mid sized fliers she had about her cottage, those whom dash very nearly chose instead of Tank. Knowing that they all could be pretty jealous of Tank and Dash in general, made fluttershy think to her bigger animals. Bear would just scare everypony, and everypony's pet. It truly was angel who could put up with Opal's aggressive nature and gummie's somewhat playful intimidation; as well as get along with tank, owlowiscious and Winona. "I don't think anyone else would be able to join us Rainbow Dash, and I'd like to stay here today to take care of angel." Fluttershy said. "Ok," Dash said a little disappointed, with a huge resound of sympathy for angel and Fluttershy. "We should all hang out when Angel feels better." Fluttershy then cried for an hour or so, ashamed that she'd lied to her best friend since foalhood. "Why couldn't I just tell her?" Fluttershy asked her self while she cried yet again. It was incredibly rude of me to lie to her... Was all fluttershy could think as she cried. All the animals around her, even bear, gave her a hug of sympathy as Angel too was their best friend. The birds chirped in unison as fluttershy heard their harmonious cries telling her to put this behind her and move on. "Move on," fluttershy said sniffling a bit. "But how?" One of her burrowing animals got from the ground a rock, it was curved on one side with a straight edge on the other end was flat. "A tombstone?" She asked as the animals nodded. As one of her out of tune song birds chirped she heard him sqeekily reply "it's for the best, and it's what he would want. Fluttershy teared up more, then sighed, all I can ask for is the kindest thing for him. She thought again, "though, it seems to need a little something more..." Fluttershy embarked from her cottage to pay one of her friends a visit. Fluttershy cautiously goes through ponyville, hoping not to meet up with Applejack or Rainbow Dash, as both of them would figure out the devastating truth and question her to no end. Fluttershy figured she could at least trust Rarity or Pinkie to keep a secret, until she was completely ready to tell her friends all about the ordeal she's been through. Fluttershy gets close to rarity's boutique, she can see her friend busy at work on a project that must be done before anything else. She then knocks at the door when rarity's voice rang, "just a minute~!" Oh, no... I can't go through with this. Was fluttershy's only thought as she tried to fly away, however her element of harmony prevented her from getting too far while rarity finished what ever dress she was working on. The door opened "Oh, Fluttershy," Rarity said. "It's been a while since me and the girls have seen you. What's been happening?" "Oh um..." Fluttershy began, Rarity was waiting for her response. "W-well, a lot has been happening. Actually a little no um a lot. No a-" "Darling, how about we put it like 'a little bit has been happening, however it seems like a lot." "That is indeed how I feel," Fluttershy said dragging her hoof on the ground. "You see, I have a request for you." "I'll do anything for a friend," Fluttershy handed Rarity the stone, and handed her a note as well. "Why would you want me to do this?" Rarity asked. "Because I do that's why!" Fluttershy said in a little fit of anger. "Alright, alright, no need to vent on me, I'll get it done and keep your secret." Author's Note I do appologize in advance for this chapter was done completely on an iPhone 4S and will be redone on a computer soon as I get the chance and time to edit it fully. For now though, please enjoy what I am able to get out currently. I hope that this story is well liked for it's the first one I've done outside of my little crossovers box, I also wish to say that this is primarily based upon the collab video between Dr. Wolf an Silver Quill.
