~A snowy day with somepony special~

"Static, don't forget to put a scarf on! It is freezing outside!" Your mother almost yelled at you from somewhere upstairs.

"I know Mom! This ain't my first winter, you know!" You rolled your eyes at your Mom's words, being the ever over-protective mare she always was. "You would think with fur and feathers we wouldn't need to wear scarfs or hats..." Cold air crept over your back, making you shiver and immediately rethink the words you just said. "Bbrrrrr... alright, wearing a scarf it is then." You stopped close by the front door and looked through the wardrobe of scarfs, hats, hoof mittens and other clothing, searching for a particular scarf somepony special gave you.

After rummaging through the chaos of fabrics, your eyes caught sight of the distinctive colors of the rainbow. And sure enough, there it was, the scarf a certain rainbow maned mare gave you recently. You gently pulled it out from under the hats of your little sisters and held it in your hooves. It felt soft by just holding it, the colours of the fabric reminding you of the special pony in your life. You brought the scarf close to your muzzle and nuzzled it, her scent was still strongly on it, making your wings twitch lightly by just smelling the scarf. You brushed the soft fabric against your cheek, relaxing at its soft touch before throwing one end over your shoulder and sending the opposite side of the scarf over your other shoulder.

"Static, where are you going?" A little voice called from below you.

You looked down and smiled at a small filly with violet eyes and a beige coat, red streaks running through her in a ponytail pulled orange mane, "Hey Gloomy. I'm going to visit somepony special for Hearth's Warmings Eve. You want to guess who it is?"

The filly beamed and did a little skip, "You're going to Rainbow Dash!" You nodded at her. "Can I go with you, too? I want to see her again!"

You chuckled, "Sorry, sis. You'll need to stay home."

The filly gave you her biggest set puppy eyes with pouting lips, "P-please? I promise I'll behave..." she flicked her tail lightly and sat on her haunches.

Sighing, you nuzzled the top of her mane, "Sorry Gloomy, that doesn't work this time. Rainbow and I want to spend the day with just the two of us. It doesn't mean we don't like it when you're coming along with us, we just want to spend the day with each other."

Gloom's ears fell to the side of her head, "Okay." Her ears perked up again, "What are you and Rainbow Dash going to do then?

You grinned and closed your eyes, "Coltfriend and fillyfriend stuff."

"Yuck!" Gloom immediately stuck out her tongue and spun around, trotting away from you and disappearing up the stairs, "MOM! Static is going to do coltfriend and fillyfriend stuff with Rainbow Dash!"

You were certain you could hear the 'clang' of a silver plate drop upstairs and decided it was a good time to get out of the house, "I should remember that one if I ever need some free time again," you said with a gentle chuckle as you opened the front door and walked outside onto the snow-covered clouds. Closing the door behind you, you walked out of the front yard and unfurled your wings, your body shivering as soon as cold air brushed underneath and passed your exposed wing bases. "Brrrrr... better make this a fast flight!" Starting a trot, you flapped your wings a few times and launched in to the air, leaving your house and Cloudsdale behind.

The air was thick with puffy white snow-clouds. Many pegasi were playing on the clouds left and right, taking full advantage of the cloud formations the weather teams throughout Equestria had prepared for the upcoming snow that was planned later today. You glided over and passed the many fluffy clouds, occasionally brushing a hoof through them.

Looking ahead, you managed to make out the small cozy town of Ponyville, all covered up in a thick white blanket. There were definitely ponies walking up and about the town, all of them busy left and right with their own thing or helping decorating the town with lights and decorations. At some point, you swore you could see a giant snowball fly through the air before it landed somewhere within the town.

You focused on a floating house made of clouds that drifted gently on the outskirts of the town. It was your set destination, but you felt like something was missing, "Hhmm... Maybe I'll buy a small gift for her, she did give me this scarf after all." Taking one end of the scarf that was swishing behind you, you gently brushed it over your cheek, "Hhmm... so soft... I definitely need to get her something. Something small, something she can carry easily during flight." You nodded to yourself and angled to your right, heading towards Ponyville, determined to find something worth of her, but at the same time something simple.

Your wings flapped and your angled them downwards so you could descent towards one of the clearer roads of the town, as to not annoy the townsfolk with your landing. The blanket of snow was disturbed by your wings as you neared the ground, the white dust flying up in to the air and swirling about before descending back onto the ground again. A few ponies turned their gaze to you as you landed and folded your wings but soon after resumed their day.

You shook your coat and ruffled your wings to get some of the snow off of you as your hooves dug into the thick snow layer. Glancing about, you saw the library not far down the road. Looking briefly behind you, you noted that Carousel Boutique was not far either. "Hhmm... maybe Rarity knows where I can find some simple necklaces for Dashie." You spun around in the snow and trotted at an easy pace towards the shop of Rarity. "Maybe she even has some necklaces for sale."

On the way you passed by various ponies, some of which you had come to know in the few times you were in Ponyville. There was Lyra and Bon Bon, going from door to door with small boxes of chocolate delicacies and wishing the ponies that opened a happy Hearth's Warming. There was Big Mac that was pulling a large sled with a few foals on it through the snow like it was nothing. You waved at him which he returned without stopping, all foals on the sled giggling as they were pulled through the town.

Passing by a small stage, you swung your body lightly as you heard the soft and gentle voice of Fluttershy and the others of the quartet singing; "~I'm trotting home for Hearth's Warmings---Eve~" except for Rarity, who would likely be in her shop. As far as you knew her, this time of the year she would likely be busy with making clothing for ponies or presents that ponies ordered.

You trotted through the street with the shop 'sofas and quills' just as Twilight walked out of it with stuffed saddlebag. Surprisingly, she wasn't accompanied by Spike, but rather by a yellow coated unicorn with a blue mane, a cutie mark of a comet leaving a trail behind. You didn't knew him, but it seemed that Twilight did as they nuzzled each other with content. Smiling at the sight, you continued your way without interrupting them.

A chill ran over your spine as you started to get cold from being out in the snow. Luckily, Rarity's shop wasn't far, "Can't wait to be out of the cold. I'm freezing my feathers off out here." Stopping in front of Carousel Boutique, you shook your coat again and knocked on three times on the door.

"Just a moment please!" Rarity's voice sounded through the door.

You pranced on the spot, trying to keep yourself warm, "Hurry up Rarity! My wing tips are about to freeze off!"

"Static dear, you know it is not polite to rush a lady." Rarity opened the door with her usual smile, "And a happy Hearth's Warmings, Static. What brings you to my Boutique?"

"Hey Rarity. A happy Hearth's Warmings to you too. May I come in?"

Rarity opened the door further and stepped aside, "But of course, dear. Please, come in."

"Thanks." Entering her shop, you stomped your hooves on her doormat before going further and ruffled your wings to get the feathers comfortable.

"So, what brings you here today? Are you not spending the day with your family?" Rarity asked as she closed the door with a soft 'thud'.

"My parents agreed that it would be okay for me to spend this year somewhere else. So I'm spending it with my special somepony."

"Awww. That's so sweet. Just like in my romance novels..." Rarity said with a hoof to her hearth. "A stallion, going through the harsh and cold winter weather, just so he could be together with the one he loves~"

You blushed lightly at her mentioning you starring in a romantic novel with Rainbow Dash, "That is a little bit over the top, Rarity."

"Maybe so, but I still think it is lovely what you do for our dear Rainbow Dash. She has become more... how do I put it... well, she has become more 'lady-like' over the past few weeks. She used to be very-VERY- tomboyish." Rarity made her way towards her kitchen, you following after her with curiosity; to you, Rainbow hasn't changed.

"Rainbow has become more 'lady-like'? What do you mean?"

Rarity chuckled and shook her head, "Never mind about that. Care to have some tea?" She already stood next to her kitchen, rummaging through her stash of teabags.

You politely declined, "No thanks, Rarity. I actually came here with a small request."

Rarity turned around with a raised eyebrow, "Oh? And what might that request be?"

"Well... Rainbow gave me this scarf some time back," you said while you brushed it gently against your cheeks. "I really like it and wanted to give her something small in return. And seeing as it is Hearth's Warmings, I thought it would be a good time to give her something," you spoke as a warm blush crept on your cheeks.

Rarity smiled, "That's very thoughtful of you. Anything you had in mind?" Rarity trotted passed you and back into her shop, "Something small? Something big? Shiny? comfortable?"

Following after her, you looked around the shop for something that looked like a necklace or anything else she might like. "I thought about a small necklace. I wasn't sure if you sold any, to be honest."

Rarity stopped and put a hoof to her chin in thought, "Well, necklaces is not my main article. But, I do have a few you can look through." Rarity trotted behind her sales counter and her horn glowed. Not soon after, a plate with eight small jewelry boxes were lifted on top of the counter, "This is my special collection. Normally I keep these around for more exclusive costumers. But since it is for our dear friend Rainbow Dash, I'll make an exception."

You beamed as Rarity winked at you and motioned with her hoof to come closer and look. Walking over to the counter you looked over the boxes that were presented to you, all of them were identical in size and shape, leaving you to imagine on what could be inside each of them. "Can I open them and look?" Rarity nodded with a 'hum'.

"Take your time. I'll be in the kitchen if you need anything." Rarity walked out of the room, leaving you to yourself and the eight boxes of mystery. Not wasting time, you went to search the necklace that would fit your fillyfriend.

"I still can't believe you let me take this with only an agreement as payment, Rarity," you said as you turned to face Rarity.

Rarity stood in front of her shop's door, her hoof already on the handle, "You better believe it darling. Now, out you go, can't have your fillyfriend worry where you are, can we?" You chuckled as Rarity opened the door. You walked towards it as it swung open, only for your eyes to widen and quickly put your jewelry box under your wing with swiftness and dexterity you didn't know you possessed.

"Hey Sparky. I was wondering what was holding you up." On the outside of the shop stood no other than your fillyfriend in all her beauty.
"You got me a bit worried, normally you're always on time or like ten minutes before hoof." Rainbow Dash shook her coat and chuckled at your frozen expression of shock and joy, "What is it Sparky? Are you not happy to see me?" She slowly walked closer to you with a loving pout, her tail swishing behind her from side to side.

"I... Of course I am." You said with a gulp, your wing tightly against your side, trying to keep the jewelry box from falling. "I'm just surprised to see you here, that's all."

Rainbow Dash hummed as her muzzle closed in on yours, "I'm surprised as well." Her eyes half closed and her fresh and warm breath could be felt on your muzzle, "You weren't doing anything dirty with my friend Rarity now, were you~?"

You felt your cheeks warm up and Rarity that stood next to the door blushed heavily as well with a disapproving look. "O-of course not! I would never do that!" you said with a slight stutter, your wings almost flaring out.

"R-Rainbow Dash dear, I must insist that no foul play has-" Rarity was promptly cut off by surprise as Rainbow Dash suddenly launched her hooves around your neck and pulled you close.

"I know he won't cheat. He'll never do anything to hurt me... he doesn't have to hearth to let me down." She nuzzled warmly into your neck and you nuzzled her mane lovingly in return, even more so to her encouraging words that made your hearth beat faster for her.

As you nuzzled her mane, she rested her head on your shoulder while keeping your neck in her hooves. You sniffed her scent and sighed with content. You whispered into her ear, "I'll never let you down Dashie."

You felt her chest rise and fall gently as she also released a deep sigh, "I know you won't Sparky." Rainbow held firm onto your neck but pulled her head back from under you. Her eyes searched for yours, searching for that pair the made her feel safe and wanted. Your eyes soon connected with that of your fillyfriend, their magenta colour shining beautifully in the light. Your wings unfurled slowly from the excitement and love, making a small 'thud' sound as your secret fell onto the carpet. Your ears flicked at the sound, but you paid it no heed as your full attention was elsewhere. Rainbow Dash suddenly pulled away slowly, a happy smile grazing her muzzle, "I've been wanting to do that for two days."

Your eyes fluttered open and looked back into that of Rainbow, "Missing me that bad? Maybe I should come live with you."

Rainbow chuckled and pecked you on the lips before letting you go and bringing her fore hooves on the ground, "You know... that isn't such a bad idea. I have a double bed for the two of us to... you know..." she waggled her eyebrows up and down with a knowing look, making your wings twitch and stiff by hinting. "I see you like that idea. Hehehe."

Your red soft-throbbing ears twitched towards a gentle cough from a certain white coated unicorn, "Uh-hum. Rainbow Dash, dear, would you be so kind as to proceed with this subject outside of my shop?"

Rainbow Dash waved a dismissive hoof to Rarity without breaking away from your gaze, "Sure thing Rarity. We were going to spend the day together anyway." Her right ear flicked and she ruffled her wings, "Oh, and Sparky?"

While holding her own eyes with yours, you softly hummed your acknowledgement, "Hhmm?"

"Next time, try to get your surprise a few days before coming together." Rainbow Dash pecked you on the cheek and nuzzled it briefly before she walked to your side and grabbed the little box you dropped with her hoof, "You're a little charmer, aren't you?"

You sighed, seeing no point in trying to hide it further from her, "I know... it wasn't the smartest thing of me to do so on the last moment." Looking over your shoulder, your eyes trailed over the back and wings of your fillyfriend before meeting her eyes that were looking back at you. "I wanted to surprise you with it."

Her eyes glistened for a moment, "For what? I don't remember you owing me anything this valuable. At least, if I have to guess, this would be some kind of jewelry."

Turning around to face her fully, she looked for a moment to the little box in her hooves. You grabbed her hoof which held the box and gave it a loving squeeze, making Rainbow look at you with a raised eyebrow, "You gave me this scarf." Looking briefly at the scarf around your neck, "I really wanted to give you something back. Something small that you could carry around."

Gazing back at her, she wore a warm smile, "Oh you stupid colt. Just because I gave you a scarf to keep my coltfriend warm doesn't mean that you need to give expensive jewelry in return. The scarf has no valuable compared to something like this."

Giving her a loving smile back, you took the box out of her hoof and opened it with the lid opening towards Rainbow, "It might not come close to being as valuable as the scarf in terms of price..." you pulled the necklace you chose for her out of the little box and gently held it in front of her, her eyes becoming big with awe. "While the price of the scarf is not the same, the price of this necklace pales in how much you mean to me."

"Static... I..." You gently walked to her side and with both of your fore hooves connected the two edges of the necklace with each other. Rainbow lifted her silk mane over the necklace and you lowered it onto her neck. As the necklace dangled gently on Rainbow's chest, she brushed a hoof over it. "It... is beautiful..." she said as she glanced over her shoulder towards you, her eyes sparkling.

"I love you Dashie." You pressed your lips on that of Rainbow and earned a soft moan from her.

"Alright, while I'm normally all for romance, this goes too far for in my shop." You were suddenly lifted up into the air together with your fillyfriend, both of you frozen in place while looking around in surprise as you were held in a blue aura. The aura disappeared and Rarity closed the door, "Now, you two have a happy Hearth's Warming together."

With the aura gone, you and Rainbow parted from each other's lips, both of you slightly relieved and the tinniest bit disappointed. "Well, you too have a happy Hearth's Warming, Rarity." Rainbow Dash said as she turned to Rarity that was about to close the door but gave a wink to her friend before she did.

Rainbow Dash turned to you, her eyes going half closed and to the ground as she walked with her right ear halfway down to you, her tail wagging a few times, "Soooo..." she looked up to you while remaining in her submissive and slight seductive stance, "What are we gonna do today, Sparky?"

You gave her a warm smile and made your way to her, "We still got a few hours of daylight left. How about we go fly first for a bit and see where the day takes us?"

Rainbow came standing next to you and intertwined her tail with yours, her muzzle nuzzling your cheek, "Sounds good." You both made some distance between each other but stayed close enough so your tails would stay together on the edges. Glancing warmly at your fillyfriend, with her returning the same love for you, her new necklace hanging on beautifully on her chest. You both unfurled your wings and took to the sky, seeing where the day you and your fillyfriend would take you.

The angelic voice of your fillyfriend ringed through your ears. Her sweet chuckles making your hearth flutter. "Hehehe. I can't believe you got out of that with just a warning."

You smiled back at her as you and Rainbow landed on the cloud that was her front lawn, both of your tails intwined the same way as when you started the day. "I was just lucky that the teacher was too busy to punish me."

"Never thought you would be a colt to get into trouble as much as you have." Rainbow said with a grin.

Chuckling, you raised a dismissive hoof, "heh, it is not like I'm getting in trouble on purpose... It is just that these things like to tangle me along."

Dashie tugged on your tail lightly, "Hmm...I bet that there is more behind that..."

You grinned at her, "Maybe..."

"Heh. C'mon, lets get out of this cold," Rainbow Dash said with a shook of her coat and a ruffle of her wings. You gazed around her cloud, seeing the stars drifting around you in the evening sky guided by Luna's moon in the centre of it all. It had been a good day, and you weren't sure if anything was gonna beat it. A happy sigh escaped through your nose as you briefly remembered how you spend the day. You felt a gentle pull on your tail and looked over your shoulder to see Rainbow waiting for you, her tail still not letting go of yours. She smiled warmly at you with a loving gaze, "Come Sparky, I've something nice where we can sit and warm up comfortably." You nodded with a warm and gentle smile of your own.

Following behind your fillyfriend, you couldn't help but let your gaze lower to her hips that were swaying visibly. Her tail swished lightly while still holding onto your own, almost teasing you by showing small bits of what lay behind. Your eyes trailed up over her slim and curvy back and to her wings that were resting beautifully at her side. Her wings were preened with care and almost seemed undisturbed by the flying she always did. They looked tender, yet strong and fine. Her feathers always felt like the softest thing in all of Equestria. Resuming your way up with your eyes, you followed her soft neck up to her silky mane, the gentle colors of her mane blending in perfectly with each other. A blue wing unfurled and brushed over your cheek with its feather tips. "Eyes in front, Sparky~" The blue feathers gently pushed your face forward, just as you saw Rainbow giving you a wink. You blushed deeply but smiled, you knew she wasn't mad or even close to that; she even liked it.

Rainbow walked into her home with you in tow. Her home was, by nopony's surprise, made of clouds. For a mare that your fillyfriend was, you never thought of her to be one for a cozy home. But there it was; a soft long couch where her tortoise pet Tank was sleeping on. A long and wide carpet made of delicate fabrics consisting of varying patterns with orange and red colors lay in front of the couch. Facing the two furnitures was an average fire place where fire was already crackling gently. There were lamps placed in the corners of the room, coating it in a warm hue together with the warmed of the fireplace.

Rainbow closed the door behind you and hung her scarf onto the brown coatrack that was placed next to the door. Your right hoof went up to your scarf and you undid it. Before you could bring it to the coatrack, however, it was pulled out of your hoof. You looked around in surprise and was just on time to see your scarf land on the coatrack besides the one of Rainbow. It did not take long for you and your Dashie to make the hot drinks and get yourself comfortable near the fire, Rainbow also bringing her pet to his basket that she had in the kitchen. A soft blanket lay over you, making the temperature almost perfect. You felt something stir underneath the blankets and looked to your left, seeing the silk mane of your fillyfriend laying comfortably on your shoulder, her chest rising and falling in sync with yours. Her hooves were on your lap and your wing was wrapped around her to keep her close.

No words were spoken. You both sat in front of the fire in silence, utterly content with each others presence. You lay your head on her mane and nuzzled it, Rainbow 'humming' softly in approval. The fire crackled gently and with no sign of stopping anytime soon or even diminishing. A glimmer was seen in the corner of your eye and you raised your head, noticing that the blinking was coming from the necklace that you gave her. She was still wearing it. Throughout the day you had said to her that it was okay if she took it off and keep it at home, but she refused it every time. And now, she was still wearing it. You smiled at it, happy that she liked it so much and that you made the right choice.

"You know... I still haven't thanked you for the necklace." Rainbow was also looking at it, a loving smile spreading over her muzzle. She glanced up to you and into your eyes.

You brought your forehead gently against her own and locked your gaze with hers, "You don't have to."

Rainbow brought her hooves from underneath the blanket and took hold of your cheeks, "But I want to..." She slowly brought her lips close and connected them with yours, her warmth and yours exchanging with each other through a heated kiss.
