A young earth pony is born and raised, not into the magical land of Equestria, but the industrial and austere Republic of Karalia. The former Imperium of Cyrandelli has always been known for its excessively militaristic culture and its seemingly endless fifteen-hundred-year war against the Changeling Empire.

A war the ponies of Karalia have affectionately dubbed 'The Great Purge'.

From the burning sands of Saddle Arabia, through the humid jungles of Ustio, to the frozen wastelands and trench-lines of the Eastern Front, the Karalian Army pushes on, carving a path of death and scouring towards their final victory.

Forced into the Conscript Cadets at a young age, a young colt must learn to survive and endure the conflicts of his Changeling-phobic homeland. But not every conflict involves endless legions of vile changelings.

He must climb a mountain of corpses to reach his peace.

Lest he becomes another skull on the battlefield...
