//-------------------------------------------------------// The Creator and his Creations -by PyraFlare- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// 1) Unfamiliarity //-------------------------------------------------------// 1) Unfamiliarity Let me tell you a story, just like all the other times I've told people tales. Stories of heroism, of honour, of love, of sadness, of loss, of war, of trust, of faith and of knowledge. I am the story teller, the man behind the words you read as they are presented to you on your screen. I've created worlds with my words, created people to inhabit those worlds. I've created friendships, relationships, rivalries, bonds and guided my creations to their dreams. However, I've also broken worlds, shattered lives and tore friends and families apart. Dad, you're starting to ramble again. Am I? Sorry, thank you Peridot. Anyway, I'm guessing since you've selected this tale to be your next source of entertainment I should provide you with a story. Well sit back as I tell you a story, my story. I am the story teller, my name is Pyra James, and thus is the tale of how I, a simple writer, ended up in Equestria with my adoptive children. Equestria 500 years before Nightmare Moon Everfree Forest "Come on men! Fan out and find it!" A large stallion in golden armour shouted to the various other gaurds that were sprinting into the Everfree Forest. Deeper into the woods a creature ran with two smaller creatures in its arms. Its attempts at hiding in the shadows proved useless as parts of its body let of a blue glow that gave away its position. As it ran the sound of ponies yelling began to grow fainter in the dark woods, the moon high in the sky. It didn't let the sound of silence fool it, it just kept running, and running, and running until it came to a small clearing at the side of a mountain, a cave leading into the stone giant. Seeing no other choice than to run blindly through the night it began slowly walking towards the inviting cave. As it approached the cave it noticed that a group of rain clouds were beginning to blanket the sky in a dark grey layer of fluff. Hurrying inside the creature began to walk deeper into the cave, as to avoid its light giving away its position to any passerbys. Once deep enough into the cave it came into a large dome-like chamber. Finding a spot to sit down and rest it looked to the small creatures in its arms, both seeming to be like infants. One looked to be some kind of skeleton with a hoodie on, except with a cartoonish look to it. It's bones were black and small blue lines went from the bottom of its face to its eyes that were closed while it slept. The other was a small child with green skin and triangular hair, seeming to be female. The creature itself was thin, it's hands only having three long claw-like digits. It wore a black hat with the top having a bright glowing blue flame. It's eyes were completely blue as was its hair. It had no nose and no mouth, just black skin. It seemed to wear a cloak of sorts, with two candle-like objects sticking out of its shoulders while having their own blue flames. A glowing blue gem stuck out of his chest where his heart should be. As it had time to clear its head and think, the reality of its situation came to be. It set the two infants down and began pacing up and down the chamber, contemplating what was happening to it. "This...this doesn't make sense..." It spoke in the voice of a young man. "How...why...what happened?" He sat down with his back against the wall while looking to his hands. "If this is what I think it is...I...I...I'll...I'll never see anyone I care about again...my life is...destroyed." He was on the verge of tears. "I guess this is what I get huh?" He asked no one is a broken voice. "After I displaced so many, now I'm one of them." He opened the floodgates and began to cry, his tears being a hot blue liquid. He had one hand over his eyes as he sobbed and the other was clutching his chest as he felt a sharp pain as realisation came to him. Realisation that his life was over and was forced to start a new one, and that he had done this to many others in his stories, taken people from their families for fun and putting them in unfamiliar bodies. "I didn't know...I never knew this was all real." Was all he could say, over and over again. After a while he heard whimpering from his right. Looking over with his tear filled eyes he saw the children shaking in the cold. He took of his hat and saw the blue flame still burning brightly and gave off a pleasant warmth. He got to his feet and slowly walked towards the two before setting his hat down beside them and placing them on either side where they began to snuggle into the fabric. "Kids...kids got displaced with me..." He sat down and watched as the children's shaking ceased and small smiles appeared on their faces. "Peridot and Error!Sans...interesting combination to say the least." He wiped the tears from his eyes and stared into the flame of his hat, replaying memories of his life back in his head. He imagined the people he'd never see, the things he'd never say and the things he'd never do. "I just don't understand." He may have seemed calm on the outside, but on the inside he was going crazy. Too many emotions were being felt at the time, and his run from the gaurds had tired him out. He slowly began to close his glowing eyes and lay on his side beside the sleeping children. "Please...let this just be a dream." His eyes shut and he drifted off to sleep. Princess Celestia had been informed of a monster that had appeared in the hallways of Canterlot Castle and was high in the sky over the Everfree Firest searching for what her gaurds had described to her. She sensed three different, unique energies coming from a mountain at the edge of the forest. Slowly descending from the sky down to the cave entrance she landed and used her mighty wings to shield herself from the pouring rain. Luckily she was able to enter the cave before her feathers got too wet. Upon cautiously moving further into the tunnel she saw a faint blue glow that presented her with a relaxed state of mind. Once she entered the chamber that the three displaced where resting she carefully walked up to them, ready for any surprise attack. As she stood next to them, waiting for them to move, she noticed the conflicted expression on the largest ones face as he slept. Looking to the other two she immediately knew that there was a misunderstanding with her gaurds. "Poor things, they must feel so lost, they clearly aren't one of Discords creations, I can't sense his energy around them." She spoke quietly as to not wake the slumbering creatures. In this Equestria, Discord had not been turned to stone by the Elements of Harmony, whenever the sisters had tried to face off against him with the mystical gems he had merely dodged the blast before it hit. He has went into hiding and had begun to create monsters and other creatures to cause chaos around Equestria, each more deadly and strange than the last. The Royal Gaurd were on edge, having to face these creatures so often it had become natural reflex to attack a strange new creature. "This will be extremely hard to explain to these three...well, one of them, the other two just look like infants. I wonder if this thin creature is their parent." Celestia sat down further away from them and watched them sleep, waiting for them to wake up so they could explain themselves. The next morning the creature slowly opened his eyes, hoping to see the wall or ceiling of his bedroom, but was met with a black hat with a blue flame and two sleeping children in a stone chamber. "No..." He rubbed the sleep from his eyes and slowl sat up. "Why couldn't it have been a bad dream?" As he got up he stretched his limbs and let out a yawn. Turning around he froze as he saw Celestia sitting there. He began to back up, try to keep some distance from the mare he knew only from fiction. "Good morning." She greeted. He stayed silent, trying to think of every possible scenario in his mind while keeping a safe distance away from the possible attacker. He was scared, of her, of his situation and more importantly...he was scared of what his future entailed. "Wh...what are you doing here? What do you want with me?" He asked in a panic. "Relax, I am not here to harm you." She said in a calm and motherly voice. She had noticed the sound of his voice and a question quickly made its way out of her lips. "Can I just ask...how old are you?" His eyes widened. "What's that supposed to mean?!" "No no I'm not asking if you are of age I assure you, I just with to know how old you are, it will help me have a better understanding of how you could be feeling." She said reassuringly. He calmed down slightly and cleared his throat. "Fifteen, I'm fifteen years old." "Do you have a name, I don't wish to call you creature when we talk?" Thinking things through, he figured his real name wouldn't suit his new body, so he said the name of his internet identity from back on earth. "Pyra...my name is Pyra." He sighed and shook his head. "Sorry...I'm just...having a hard time accepting this." He cleared his throat again. "Well, can I ask you something?" "Of course, what would you like to know?" "This Equestria isn't filled with xenophobic ponies is it?" Pyra asked with concern. Noticing Celestia's smile falter he had his answer. "Fan-fucking-tastic..." "Im sorry, it's just that with the situation in Equestria now, my little ponies are a lot less open to new species." She apologised with a genuine sad smile. "But don't worry, I will make sure you and your young are safe." "My what?" He looked down to the children. "Oh, them? They aren't my kids, they just appeared here with me and I couldn't just leave them behind." Celestia just nodded. "Alright, well, as I was saying, I know a place where you can stay and take care of these two." Pyra just raised a brow. "I don't know anything about raising a kid let alone two! I can barely take care of myself how am I supposed to look after the three of us?!" "I'm sorry but this is the best I can do, I have been gone for too long and my ponies will begin to worry. I will do everything I can to aid you, by bringing you food or teaching you the basics of childcare when I can, but you will need to learn how to fend for yourself." She replied solemnly. Pyra sighed in defeat and slumped against the wall. "If that the best you can do, then there's no point in furthering the conversation. Just take us to this place so I can try and collect my thoughts." He picked up his hat before placing it on his head and holding the children in his arms. Celestia nodded and her horn glowed brightly. In an instant the group disappeared from the chamber, leaving behind no trace of their presence beforehand.
