Chapter 1 – The Adventurers

The jungle was dark and humid and all you could hear were the noises from the bugs and the chirps from the exotic jungle birds. The adventurers moved on through the thick foliage cutting branch by branch until they got to their mysterious destination which was a large temple made of dark tan stone blocks. The temple had sun and moon designs on certain parts of it and pictograms written on large pillars which formed a square around the temple. The six adventurers stood in awe at the sight of the temple, their faces expressed joy, fear, and greed because no explorers had ever discovered this mysterious temple before. The adventurers moved on towards the temple heading straight past the pillars and toward a large door which was rectangular in shape. There was writing all over the door just like what was on the pillars except this writing was somewhat different… it was Menacing...

Before entering the great door a large dark grey Unicorn with a cutie mark of an emerald and green eyes stopped in front of every pony making a gesture that he wanted to speak. In a deep rich upper class Canterlot accent the Stallion said “Before we enter I would like to thank you all for coming with me on this dangerous expedition. I wasn’t expecting this village rumor to be true! Haha! Before long we will be set in the history books! We will be richer than we ever hoped for!”

There were six ponies in the expedition and every pony clapped, laughed and cheered in excitement because their shared vision of what could be found in the temple and the future, riches and glory.

A smaller yet tough looking Stallion which was an Earth pony and in charge of four ponies in the group who carried the supplies waved his hoof to them and said “You three make camp and we will stay here in front of the door trying to decipher this language and discuss private matters.” With a strong yet upset look on his face he then turned back around to face the large grey unicorn he then said “Mr. Viridi we shouldn’t enter yet until we know what this writing says, it could be important”

With a shocked expression Mr. Viridi shouts “Important?! Maneisota what could possibly be important about this nonsense on the door? The temple is abandoned and it looks like no pony or no creature has set foot near it in quite a long time! I want us to enter and I want us to enter now!”

With a grumbled look on his face Maneisota murmured “Fine, we will do it your way, just remember that I told you otherwise. Also I am not going in first there are usually traps in temples to guard the treasures they hold from thieves or enemies” he then trotted a few feet from the door.

Viridi then put his head up and said “Well I am certainly not going in first now, how about sending your people in their first instead? I will pay double to whichever one of them wants to go in to check for traps and disarm them.”

Maneisota angrily said “I am not going to send my workers in against their will they must volunteer.”

Happy that he wasn’t going to be in danger Viridi said “Fine, fine just get someone to do it.”

The worker Maneisota let stay with them to help decode spoke up and said “Well if none of you guys will go in first I will as long as you pay double the amount like you said.”

Viridi now grinning said “Great! This is now running back on track just how it was supposed to.”

Maneisota disappointed that one of his workers would agree then said “Well then, Rehme if you really want to go then you can go, just make sure to be back out in around ten minutes and if you are not back by then.. well.. then.. we will suspect the worst has happened to you.”

“Sounds good, you shouldn’t worry so much Maneisota, I will be fine it’s just some primitive temple out in the middle of the jungle I highly doubt there will be any real threats inside. You guys should head to the camp and ask the other guys to get something cooking I would rather not starve, haha.”

“I am quite parched” murmured Viridi.

Maneisota then said “Okay, be safe and remember no more than 10 minutes. I don’t want to lose a worker and more importantly a friend.”

“Haha, all your worrying is going to jinx me, well then wish me luck”

Rehme then strutted near the door entrance it was large around 11 feet tall and was made out of wood and had gold designs on it. He then used all of his body weight to slowly push the large door open. Once it was open enough to get through he then peaked inside but couldn’t see much since it was noon and there wasn’t enough light to brighten the temple up. Because it was so dark Rehme pulled a torch out of his satchel and used his lighter to catch it on fire. He then slid the torch into a special designed holder on his satchel so that he wouldn’t have to hold it with his mouth. Now with the torch he peered inside there was a large square main room which has a large golden circle which covered the majority of the room’s floor and had writing and designs drawn all over it. Going off of the room there were multiple hallways but the one that interested Rehme the most was the one with golden decorations. Rehme slowly made his was inside placing his hoofs on the floor carefully not knowing if there would be any pressure plates. Once in the giant main room where the multiple hallways split off from he decided he would keep going forward into the interesting corridor with the golden decorations placed around in it. He was walking hastily through the hallway anxious to see what he finds at the end of the fancy tunnel. Finally after walking through the hallway for a couple of minutes he finally found it, a large room with golden decorations all around it. In the back middle of the room there was a large stone statue of a pony wearing ceremonial looking armor. If the statue didn’t have a necklace around its neck and if it weren’t surrounded by chests of gold and jewels Rehme wouldn’t have thought it was special. While looking at the statue Rehme made a curious face since the only thing that looked valuable on it was a necklace. Rehme decided to get closer but not walk up the steps to the gold and the statue. Once a little closer he clearly saw that the Stone pony was wearing a large diamond necklace which glowed brightly every time he looked at it.

Rehme started saying “Yes! Yes! This is exactly what we were hoping to find! So many riches!!!” In excitement and haste Rehme quickly ran back through the hallway to make his way back outside to tell the others it was safe to enter. Once nearing the exit he started yelling “Come inside look! look!! Hurry!!!!!”

From the camp near the entrance to the temple they could clearly hear the excitement in his voice. Viridi jumped up faster than he imagined was possibly and told the others “It’s clearly safe let’s go see what’s inside shall we?” He then galloped quickly to the entrance to meet Rehme. Once all six stallions were nearing the entrance Maneisota quickly yelled “STOP! Don’t go in yet let’s ask Rehme how safe it was.”

Viridi quickly shouted “It has to be bloody safe he is there and fine right now isn’t he?! Now come along let’s go inside and see what riches await.”

Maneisota then said “Fine, although I would still be careful in there.”

The five ponies which were outside then went into the temple one at a time. Manesota was the last to enter. Once all them were inside they all went to the center of the room to get a better perspective of the temples interior, they all looked around in awe. Rehme then said “Okay every pony the gold and riches are through this middle hallway, lets g— oh no…” Before Rehme could finish the last word in his sentence they could start to hear a strange noise like two giant slabs of rock were scrapping together. All the ponys looked around in shock with frightened looks on their faces.

Viridi looking very scared said “What’s going on!?

Maneisota then shouted at him and said “I told you this wasn’t a good idea! Don’t move I don’t want us triggering the trap, I believe we are all standing on a large golden pressure plate right now and I would rather us not to fall to our deaths or get crushed, or worst get shot by poisonous darts.”

The grey unicorn looking back and forth seeming to expect the worst “Well Rehme made his was through here and he was okay I thought it was safe!”

One of the workers yelled in a panicky tone “I don’t want to die!” he then hopped off and started to make a break for the door.

Maneisota started saying “You idiot, WHY would you do this!”

The worker was running as fast as he could and when he was around halfway through the door he yelled “I am Free I am Fr-” His words were cut off as a giant rock slab slammed right into his back sealing the adventurers in the temple from the outside.
