Flutter(not so)Shy

The fillies slowly stepped into the abandoned ruins that were supposed to play host to the elements of harmony.
The whole place was falling apart. Dark green moss hung from the cracks that trailed the length of the stone ruins. Piles of rubble lay scattered all over the stone ground.
All the fillies gathered around. “Okay everypony. Spread out and search for the elements, but don’t wander too far. Also, I want you guys to call for help at the first sign of danger” lectured Twilight. All the other fillies nodded in agreement and went their own ways.
Fluttershy continued to make her way up the ruins while the others searched the edges. Dash stopped to admire the filly’s flank as she walked. It bobbed and swayed back and forth seductively and Dash felt herself drawn towards her.
Dash continued to slowly follow Fluttershy, but eventually decided she wanted to talk to her. She broke into a brisk jog and caught up with her. “Oh, uh..Hi Rainbow” stammered Fluttershy. “Hi Fluttershy. You know, that was pretty impressive what you did back there” complimented Dash. Fluttershy blushed and mumbled a thank you.
Dash opened her mouth to continue the conversation, but was cut off when she bumped into something. She shook her head and took a step back to see what she had walked into.
Before her stood small stairwell that led up to a circular platform that resembled a tree stump. On the platform lay 6 clear, crystal orbs. “Twilight!” Dash screamed, and then the other fillies came running over.
They all gathered around the orbs to examine them further. Inside the orbs were 6 necklaces. Twilight scooped them up and began to hand them out. Fluttershy, Kindness. Rainbow Dash, Loyalty. Rarity, generosity. Applejack, Honesty. Pinkie Pie, Laughter. Twilight Sparkle, Magic.
Before the fillies could wear their necklaces, a sparkly blue mist slowly flew into the ruins. Rainbow Dash was the first to notice, and a sudden hit of realization and remembrance hit her. That was the apparition. The apparition that had turned into Fluttershy…”It must have been trying to stop me!” Dash said a little louder than intended, and receiving an odd glance from Rarity.
No one else had a chance to respond, because the sparkling blue cloud morphed itself into a terrifying mare that stood tall over the fillies. Nightmare Moon. Nightmare Moon’s wings stood outstretched, farther than Dash had ever seen. Her horn also jut out from her forward with a deadly point and the moonlight gave the sharp object a brilliant sparkle.
The dark coated mare’s horn began to glow a luminescent blue as the elements were torn out of Twilight’s possession and hurtled towards Nightmare Moon.
Dash glanced towards the sky, remembering the old pony tales. About the time when Nightmare Moon would escape her solitude on the opalescent rock, come to Equestria, and cast it into eternal night. As she gazed into the starless sky, she noticed a figure of pure darkness enveloping the pale white moon, casting an unnatural shadow over the already ominous forest.
Dash was overcome by a deep sense of worry and….. fear. For the 2nd time today, she was the one that was afraid.
Nightmare Moon let out a maniacal life that bellowed throughout the forest. Her laugh hung in the air for a while, as it slowly trailed off into the forest. She then began to carefully lay the elements out on the dust covered platform where the fillies found them. As she lowered the elements, they created small gusts of wind that sent bits of dust up in Nightmare’s face; causing her to let out several hacks and coughs.
This was the distraction Twilight needed. She pressed her eyes shut and focused as hard as she could, then… poof. She teleported herself behind Nightmare within an instant. She seemed to have judged the distance wrong though, for she realized that her horn was prodding Nightmare Moon’s behind.
(This chapter is incomplete. I just felt bad about it being almost a month since my last update. Life is what it is, and I apologize. I figure I should start a blog or tumblr if anyone wants it. If you do, comment it :P)
