“So this is the where the job interview is, hun?” Said Hunger Eye” I thought the place would be bigger.” She says as she looks at the building that was a good two story building. It had a few windows. Soon she hopes she will live in as an assistant to some new and upcoming detective that has already done a few cases.
She had such high hopes and plans when she got out of high school. She had planned to go to college and become a doctor but that died when her mom died and her step dad cut her off for “First that the only girl in the world that I loved it dead, then her featherbrain of a daughter tries to mooch off her dead founds. Well I got other things for you. You're not getting any her bits. GO ROT IN TARTARUS!!!”
I was kicked out of school after they found out I had no bits. I tried out the army after that but after 4 months I got kicked out after drop kicking a general in the balls. In my defense, he did grope me on the flank.
So here I am, at my last ditch effort. If this fails then I’ll just have to die or get picked up by the mob that runs this town. As I walk up to the door, I notice that it radicles hurg, is this guy a minotaur or something? I ring the doorbell and was greeted by a very nice elderly griffin. “You must be here for the job opening, please come in dear.” she says as she lets me into the house.
She then leads me to waiting room with two big fluffy looking chairs, a red and blue rug, and a nice big fire place. “Please wait here hun, while I go get Sherlock from his study.” As she says this a muffle noise comes from upstairs and a little rumble. The maid that says “If he made a miss up there, his going to name a surgeon when I done with him” she says darkly that caught me off guard. When I hear her get up the stairs I started to hear a LOT of things moving, breaking, and pain coming from up there till it just stops.
Then I started to hear somepony come down the stairs. I thought that it was the maid but I was wrong. It towered over me by a good 2 feet. It had hands like a minotaur, but they were smaller and looked a lot squishier. It didn't have any horns or fur or hooves or a lot of things. It was wearing deerstalker, with big black shoes, and a cane that had a head on it.
Then it spoke. “Hello my name is Sherlock Holmes, but you can just call me Sherlock. Now that you're done getting my looks into your memory let's get this interview on the way.”
“Oh Sarcy, um I’m-” “Your Hunger eye from Griffin rust also known as Foxtion, you had top grades in high school, you then we're in college but then had to drop out for money problems, then you went to serve in the army but got kicked out after attacking a general for “as you put it” groping me on the flank. Did I miss anything Mrs. Hunger Eye?”
All that was going through my head at the time was how, how did he know just about the last year of my life. I wanted to ask him who he was, why he was stalking me, and how much more he knows of me. But all I could get out at the time was “How”.
“Oh that well you hold your shelf in the way that most griffins from griffin's rust do, you also have a have new will to learn that most griffin’s have in after high school, I also know one of the teachers at the college that you use to go to and she talked about that one student who had to leave due to lack of income, I also know a few of the other generals that talked about the college dropout that drop kicked one of them in balls and the report said that they give me said so.” he said as if it was second nature.
“Ok mister know it all what was I trying to learn in college?” I say as to see just how much he knew. “You were trying to become doctor.” “What was my fall back plan?” “The army but we both know how that went” “What color am I think of” “red” Ok how did he know that one.
“I saw that you were looking at the rug as you were trying to think of more questions to ask me and no I didn’t read your mind your face muscles told me everything I need to know; now here’s what I want to ask you.” “Why do you want to be my assistant?” What, ok why is he asking me this. He literally just said my whole reason to be here. “Um I saw you-” “No that’s where you got the idea to try for this job; I want to know why you want it?”
“Is this a trick question, you just said me whole reason for being here, I have nowhere left to go. I have no house, no income, and no family to go to. Why are you asking me this if you already know why?” “To see if you would question me for asking you it and you reaction for it.” “…” “I was seeing how you would react to me asking a pointless question and one that looks like I already know. Like say asking you why you were kicked out of the army.”
“Well I have just about everything I need, now Ms. Foxtion. You’re hired.” ……. what.
