Look at them...all smoochy woochy and lovey dovey. Disgusting. Vinyl gave an appalled groan as she glared at Octavia nuzzling the cheek of a handsome blue stallion with a saxophone in his hooves.

His name was Noteworthy. He was a quiet and sophisticated stallion with an ear for music, and quite possibly the only pony in town who had a liking to classical music besides Octavia. They were a perfect inseparable pair, which was a good thing for the pony race that there will be another generation of breeding in the future, but a bad thing for Vinyl since she has the displeasure of listening to them from her bedroom.

But what really rubbed Vinyl the wrong way was the fact that she always had to return home from work to the sight of them cuddling on the couch in the living room. It was too painfully adorable.

"You're so good at playing your saxophone, Notey~"

"Thanks. You're pretty good at the cello yourself~" Noteworthy complimented.

"Aww, it's so nice to know that someone knows the difference between a cello and a violin! Unlike SOMEponies who live in this house," she said, referencing Vinyl and her lack of knowledge between the distinction of the two instruments.

"Of course I'd know the difference! Both instruments are beautiful, especially when played by the most precious musician in all of Equestria!"

"Aww, such a gentlestallion!"

Noteworthy blushed and smiled. "You know that tomorrow's Hearts and Hooves Day, right?"

"Yeah?"

"Well, how would you like to be my special somepony?"

Octavia gasped in surprise. "Really?!"

"Of course! Anything for my special wittle musician!"

Vinyl gagged, almost throwing up everywhere. She stood up from her seat, gaining the attention of the other two ponies. "Vinyl? When did you get here?" Octavia asked.

"Just half an hour ago..."

"You were watching us cuddle for half an hour? Vinyl, that's...really creepy now that I think about it."

"Oh, so I'm the creepy one? I'm the one having to listen to you two put the 'trombone in its case' every night!"

Octavia and Noteworthy both flinched in embarrassment as their faces turned a deep shade of red. "V-Vinyl," Octavia began, trying to keep calm and collective. "Do not be a hypocrite. I've had to deal with you and your many rendezvous for the past several months."

"That's an exception! I actually look GOOD doing it!"

"Vinyl–!"

"And you know what else? I can't stand you two always loving each other a-and hugging each other and kissing each other and–"

"Sounds to me like somepony's jealous," Noteworthy interrupted.

"Jealous? Me? AHAHAHAHA!" Vinyl laughed sarcastically.

After a brief moment of silence he asked again. "Are you?"

Vinyl glared at him. "Of course not! Why would I be jealous of two nerds getting together? Certainly not me!"

"Really, because it sounds like you are," smirked Octavia.

"I'M NOT JEALOUS!" Vinyl exclaimed, grinding her teeth together. "You know what? I don't need this! Goodbye!" And with that, she slammed the door open and stormed out, not even bothering to shut the door.

"Uhhhh...is she going to be okay?" Noteworthy asked.

"Yes, she'll be fine in a few hours. She's probably going to the bar to let some steam off."

"...If you say so," he said with uncertainty. He shifted in his seat a bit before finally standing up. "Excuse me, Octy. I need to do something important." Before Octavia had any time to respond, he trotted out the door quickly with a determined look on his face.

"...Okaaaay? I'll just stay here and...I don't know. Cuddle a pillow?" She turned her head to the other end of the couch and grabbed a pillow, wrapping her arms around it. "Hmph...it's not the same..." she pouted.

It was 11:00 at night. Vinyl was sitting down at the bar with a mug of hard cider next to her. She grumbled to herself in annoyance. Stupid Hearts and Hooves Day. It's not even a REAL holiday! It's just a ploy from major companies for ponies to sell more chocolate and disgusting candy hearts. And a reminder that I can't keep a coltfriend for more than a week before he breaks up with me... She sighed and put her head on the bar table, remembering all those past ponies she dated with briefly. She wasn't ticked off about Hearts and Hooves Day being a made up holiday. She was ticked off because she could never find a stallion she could truly connect with.

Now Vinyl wasn't picky with her stallions. She was easygoing with her past coltfriends and didn't mind if they had different traits than she would have liked. She dated tall ones, short ones, skinny ones, muscular ones... One time she even dated a mare pretending to be a stallion!

But they all broke up with her sooner or later. Some broke up with her because she snored when she slept. Others broke up with her because of the way she chewed with her mouth open. Still others hated the way that she burped loudly in public. No matter what the reason, it all pointed towards her not acting as "ladylike" compared to the average mare.

But that's not MY fault! So what if I choose to be more manly? There's nothing wrong with breaking away from the norm every once in a while! Jeez!

Noticing it was getting close to midnight and that she just finished her cider, Vinyl stood up from her stool and gave an elegant and majestic belch before heading towards the exit. As soon as she pressed her hoof on the door, she felt a tap on her shoulder. Immediately, she freaked, bucking whatever it was that nudged her in the stomach.

"OOF!" She heard a loud grunt and turned around. It was Noteworthy...only his mane was slightly longer and had yellow highlights in it. On his back was a guitar case that was secured around his chest by a strap.

"N-Note? What are you doing here?"

"N-Note?" he asked. As he tried to recover from the sharp blow to the stomach, Vinyl noticed that his voice sounded very similar to Noteworthy's only more low-pitched. "...Ohh, you're thinking of my twin brother!"

"Twin brother?" Oh Celestia, not another tightwad...

"Yeah. Name's High Octane! Oh my gosh it's so good to meet you, DJ P0N-3!"

"Uhh...that's my stage name. Call me Vinyl."

"Alright then, Vinyl!" Octane said enthusiastically. "Wow, I'm such a big fan of your work!"

"Y-You are?" she asked, tilting her head a bit. "But, I thought that–"

"You thought that because my brother's an uptight dork who loves old music from a bunch of dead ponies, I wouldn't like dubstep or rock or any music from this century? Take a look at this." He turned his body to the side, showing his flank to her.

"DUDE!" Vinyl shielded her eyes from his flank in disgust. "DON'T SHOW ME THAT! BUY ME SOME DINNER FIRST!"

Octane simply rolled his eyes. "DJ–err...I mean Vinyl. Look at the cutie mark." Out of curiosity, Vinyl slowly lowered her hooves and noticed that it was different from Noteworthy's. Instead of two pairs of eighth notes, Octane had a single pair of sixteenth notes on his flank. "See? Two totally different ponies. We may look alike but we sure don't act alike, that's for sure."

"Ah, that makes sense. But wait, how do you know who I am?" Vinyl asked.

"Are you kidding? Dude, you're like the best DJ I've ever heard! I've heard a lot of music in my life, but yours is just...freaking wow!"

Vinyl blushed a bit at his comments and rubbed the back of her head sheepishly. "Aw, I'm just...trying my best, you know!"

Octane let out a chuckle and looked behind him, inspecting his guitar case. "Hey, uh...I have a bit of musical talent myself. Wanna hear?"

"Oh, you play guitar? Alright, let's see what you got!" she smirked.

Octane returned the smirk and laid his guitar case on the ground. "Lemme show ya." He open up the case and presented to her a shiny blue electric guitar with a pair of sixteenth notes stickered on the front. He flipped the guitar over and displayed the back of the guitar to her, the initials "H.O." etched into the corner.

"Wooow...that's awesome!" Vinyl exclaimed in admiration.

"You haven't heard the best part," Octane said as he held the guitar close to him. He moved his hoof towards the strings and started playing a fast guitar solo. His hooves were a blur as Vinyl tried to keep up with his movements. She realized it was no use to follow his quick hoof motions, so she just closed her eyes to take in the music. An image appeared in her head of a viking with a battleaxe in his hoof riding a great white shark with rabies and a laser on its head.

That seemed like a good description of how badass the solo was.

After a minute or two, Octane set his guitar down and put it back in his case. "So, what'd you think?"

Just now realizing the music had stopped, Vinyl shook her head quickly, still stunned from the amazing performance. "You mean, like honestly?" Vinyl inquired.

"As honest as you want to put it."

After a short pause, Vinyl answered, "There are no words to describe how freaking awesome that song was."

"Wait, for real?"

"Heck, yeah! Dude, you're a professional!"

A red glow appeared on Octane's cheeks as he chuckled. "Well, when a music note's tattooed onto your butt, you kinda have to be good at playing an instrument, you know?" Vinyl opened her mouth to speak again before she heard her stomach growl. Octane looked back at her and snickered. "Hey, you wanna go out and get something to eat?"

"That sounds like a good idea. Where to?"

"I was thinking of maybe Hay Burger or that one burrito place. I forget what it's called, but I refer to it as 'Diarrhea City.' Bro, I ate there a few days ago and almost crapped out a lung. They had to get a new toilet and everything after that."

Vinyl flinched and gagged a bit at the thought. "Dude, that is disgusting!"

"Oh! Uhh...s-sorry! I just thought–"

"N-No! It's just...so crude and immature...nothing that I would ever hear at home..." After a small pause, Vinyl continued, "Please tell me more."

Several minutes had passed, and already Vinyl and Octane were sitting down at a booth at Hay Burger, laughing their flanks off and having the time of their lives.

"And then after Octavia looked all around the house for her bow, she turns to me and asks where I put it."

"A-And?" Octane asked, trying not to erupt with laughter.

"I pointed to my ex-coltfriend and told him to bend over!" Vinyl laughed.

"PFFFFFT! HOLY CRAP!" Octane laughed as well, banging on the table with his hoof. "Please t-tell me she checked."

"Nah, I'm not th-that mean," Vinyl snickered. "Okay, maybe I am. But not to Octavia."

"Ah, I feel ya. I prank Note a lot, but when somepony else messes with him, they're gonna have to get through me. I'm, like, his guardian older brother even though I'm technically younger than him."

"I thought you said you were twins."

"Yeah, but we don't come out at the same time. Can you imagine how much that would hurt?"

"...True..." Vinyl cringed.

"But hey, I actually have something serious to ask you. Do you wanna...y-you know...maybe wanna..."

"Come on, Octane. Spit it ooouuuut..." Vinyl teased.

"Ngh..." he blushed in embarrassment as he tried to get the rest of his sentence out. "Do you...wanna be my special somepony for Hearts and Hooves Day?" he mumbled.

"MFF!" Vinyl choked on her drink and coughed. "I-I'm sorry, what? Your special somepony?"

"I mean, everypony's going to be on my flank about why I don't have a special somepony this year. Plus, I think it could be kinda fun, you know?"

"Uhhhh..." Vinyl wasn't sure what to think about this situation. On one hoof, he was the perfect stallion! He didn't care or even pay attention to any of her bad habits! Unless he thought it was too awkward to point out she picked her nose on the way to Hay Burger.

On the other hoof...

Wait, there's no downside to this problem.

"Eh, what the hay!" she said with a smile. "I'll be your special somepony!"

"Wait, really?" Vinyl gave him a nod as her smile widened, causing Octane to retaliate with a bigger and goofier smile. He wrapped his arms around her and gave her a hug from across the table. "Holy crap, thank you! You're not going to regret it!"

"Nghhhh..." Vinyl blushed in embarrassment and tried to free herself from Octane's grip, but to no avail. "I'm already regretting it since you're embarrassing me in public this bad..."

"Ehh, it comes with being my marefriend," he said, booping her nose gently with his hoof.

"Wait a sec. Marefriend? So like...we're a thing now?"

"I mean, you did say 'yes' to being my special somepony. I kinda assumed we would be dating now."

Vinyl gave a quick thought about the situation before shrugging. "Huh. I guess that would make sense. Not that I'm complaining or anything! I mean, you are pretty adorable," she smirked, watching him blush in embarrassment.

"Nnnngh...I-I believe the word you're looking for is 'sexy,'" he said, flexing his arm to show off his nonexistent muscles.

"Don't flatter yourself, guitar boy," she teased, flicking a hay fry at him.

Octane pouted as he picked up a crumpled up napkin and tossed it at her, making her laugh. "I'm not adorable."

"Wh-Whatever you say," she snickered.

Octavia slept peacefully in her bed, blissfully dreaming about her coltfriend. In her mind, she was floating in the air surrounding by a pink background with hearts drifting through a soothing wind. The only object in sight besides the hearts was Noteworthy, who was hovering in front of her, smiling a little at her and blushing. She felt her body move forward slowly as the gap between them started to close. They got closer and closer together until they almost touched noses and stopped.

Octavia shut her eyes slowly and leaned in to kiss him on the lips.

"TAVI! WAKE UP!"

"GAH!" Octavia jolted up from her bed, her heart pounding in her chest at a rapid rate. She quickly turned on the lamp sitting on the table next to her and saw Vinyl smiling big at the other end of her bed. "VINYL, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? WHAT TIME IS IT?"

"It's four in the morning! But that's not the point! I met somepony today!"

"Wh-What? Why are you telling me this now? Can't it wait until the morning?"

"Ugh...Tavi, you don't understand! This is the one! This is the perfect stallion!"

Octavia gave Vinyl a very skeptical expression. "And he's different from the hundreds of thousands of stallions you've dated in the past, how?"

"Becaaauuuse," Vinyl began, falling back on the mattress, "he doesn't care about my attitude, my habits, how I haven't showered in three days..."

"Wait, you haven't showered in three d–"

"Not important. What matters is that he likes me for who I truly am."

"Well...I...uh..." Octavia stammered before looking down at Vinyl, noticing how happy she was. She smiled and said, "I'm glad you found someone perfect in your life."

"Oh, oh!" Vinyl sat up quickly and turned her head towards her roommate. "I forgot one last important detail!"

Octavia tilted her head a bit. "What?"

"He's the twin brother of Noteworthy!"

All of a sudden, Octavia's eyes widened as her pupils contracted a bit. "Tw-Twin brother?"

"Yeah...I know, I know...it's awkward that I'm dating your coltfriend's brother...but we don't have to make a big deal out of the fact I'm going to end up sleeping with the pony who looks almost exactly like your coltfriend!" Vinyl put a hoof to her chin and thought about the scenario for a second. "Never mind, that's actually pretty weird."

"N-Not that. Noteworthy never mentioned he had a twin. He actually specifically stated he was an only foal."

"...So?" Vinyl asked.

"So..." Octavia said, getting out of her bed and trotting towards the other end of the room. "Noteworthy was gone from the house the whole day. Now all of a sudden this new stallion who looks EXACTLY like him comes into the picture and starts dating you? MY roommate?"

"Uhhhh...where are you going with this, Tavi?"

"...I don't think Octane's real. I think that Noteworthy's just trying to get with another mare by disguising himself as another pony."

"Oh my gosh. We better tell Octane that his brother's a real jerk!" Vinyl proclaimed.

"Yeah! We sh–wait what? No, Vinyl!" she said, putting a hoof to her own forehead with a groan. "Octane IS Noteworthy!"

"...Wait...that doesn't make sense. 1. How come Octane has longer mane and highlights? 2. How come his cutie mark's different? And C. Why would anyone pull such an elaborate plan to earn an extra marefriend?"

"1. Wigs exist, Vinyl. He probably talked to Rarity and asked for a custom one. 2. So does paint. And C...err 3! This is Ponyville! This entire town is so crazy that anything could happen!"

"But...still...Octane wouldn't lie to me, would he?"

"I-I'm sure that I may just be paranoid," said Octavia, running her hooves through her mane in an upset manner. "And I hope to Celestia that I am. Noteworthy is just so perfect and sweet and kind and–" She stopped herself and shook her head quickly. "Nevertheless, we need to be certain."

"Why don't we just confront him during one of your dates or something?"

"You mean, just upfront and asking him?"

"Well, not really. Just like start asking him questions about Octane. Ask him why he hasn't mentioned him before, why you've never seen the two of them together. Stuff like that. If he's lying then his whole plan falls apart."

"Hm..." Octavia thought. "That's not a bad idea actually."

"But if he's not lying, then you end up looking like a moron in front of him."

"That's a risk I'm going to have to take," Octavia said, gazing over the table next to the bed and staring at the teddy bear Noteworthy gifted her. It served as a reminder for the day they first met. It was at the carnival and she sat down next to him at a bench. She noticed his cutie mark and started talking to him about classical music. Their conversation lasted on and on until they ran out of breath. They then decided to play some carnival games. She remembered Noteworthy winning her that same bear and how ecstatic she was. Seeing him blush and smile adorably once she hugged him brought a warm feeling in her chest. And she knew they would be happy together.

"He seems too perfect to be real and I want to make sure he is," she stated as her ears lowered.

Vinyl's ears flattened a bit as well as she looked away. "I hate to admit it, but I think Octane's the perfect stallion for me, too." She sighed. "I've never seen someone spit a loogie so far in my life."

They were met with a long silence before Octavia spoke up. "It's getting pretty late. I'm going back to bed."

"Al-Alright. Same."

And with that, they both walked back to their respective beds with a hint of doubt their special someponies were frauds.

The next day at 5:00 in the evening, Octavia arrived at Sugarcube Corner. She would have gone somewhere fancier for their date, but she knew that Octane and Vinyl would just act like immature foals there. It wasn't worth the public humiliation. But, the atmosphere of the bakery was cute, so she had to give credit where credit is due. She searched the bakery to find her roommate and saw her sitting at a table with three empty chairs, one next to her and two sitting across from her. Octavia walked towards Vinyl and sat down next to her. "Did you ask Noteworthy?"

"Yep. Remember the plan?"

"I got it, I got it..." Vinyl said, picking up a whipped cream canister from the table and spraying some in her mouth. "Justh act casthual..."

"Right. I'll do most of the talking.

Vinyl swallowed the whipped cream and added, "I hope that your accusations are all a bunch of crap..."

"I know. I do too," she said, looking a little nervous.

Octavia heard a ringing sound and turned to the front door of the bakery that Noteworthy had arrived. He walked over to them and saw Vinyl sitting next to Octavia, causing him to raise an eyebrow. "Uhh, I thought we were having a date. What are you doing here, Vinyl?"

"She's here because I just wanted to...um...teach Vinyl about proper table etiquette!" she lied. Noteworthy tilted his head and noticed her mouth was covered with whipped cream. Octavia took account of this and quickly pushed a napkin towards Vinyl's direction. "I-It's a work in progress."

"O-Okay then..." he said as he sat down awkwardly across from her.

"So, um...I just heard last night that you had a brother and...well...this is sort of news to me since you've said you're an only foal. Is there a reason why you've never brought him up?"

Noteworthy's face reddened as he gave an uneasy frown. He shifted a bit and stammered, "U-Uh...I-I have a confession to make..."

"A-And what would that be?" she asked, looking a little sullen.

"Th-The truth is...that...that..." Noteworthy's eyes darted across the room, a common habit for bad liars. "...I lied about being an only foal. I just didn't want to bring him up because...well...he embarrasses me a lot. I didn't want him to ruin everything if you invited him over or something. He'd laugh at us during our 'cuddle time.'"

Vinyl cringed and gagged a bit hearing the words "cuddle time." What a weiner, she thought to herself.

Octavia's saddened expression soon turned into a rather confused one. "Is that it? Are you sure there's nothing else you'd like to confess?"

"Wh-What else would I confess?"

"N-Nothing...just...um..."

"What?"

"...I...just really would like to meet him."

Noteworthy's face turned paled as he shifted his hooves a bit. "U-Umm...he may be busy right now..."

Vinyl rolled her eyes. "We all know that Octane is never busy. He's like one of the laziest ponies I've met. Besides, I think he really would like to meet my roommate."

Noteworthy stood silent for a bit, sweating bullets before sighing. "I-I'll go look for him." With that, he got up from his chair and trotted out the doors leaving Vinyl and Octavia to both breathe out a sigh of relief.

"Thank Celestia. I actually thought you were right for a second, Octy."

"For once in my life, I hoped my instincts were incorrect. I'm just so happy that this whole thing can be put behind us."

"Same. We can keep our coltfriends and live happily ever aft-WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG!" Vinyl suddenly exclaimed.

"Wait, what?" she quickly looked back outside and noticed a pony looking very similar to Noteworthy only with a longer mane with highlights in them. The mane looked almost real, until the pony scratched his head. It was definitely a wig, as the entire manepiece moved with his hoof. The pony's eyes shot up at his mane and he hastily adjusted it before walking inside. WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG! Octavia screamed in her mind.

The blue pony looked around the bakery before locking eyes with their table. He eagerly trotted towards it and sat down. "Hey, are you Octavia? Man, Vinyl has told me some HILARIOUS stories about you!"

"...I see..." Octavia said passive-aggressively.

"Hey, something wrong, Mrs. Grumpy Pants?" he snickered. "You look a little ma–"

CRUNCH!

It was a hell of a crunch. The most sickening of crunches. A crunch so loud that the whole bakery stopped what they were doing and turned their heads to the source of the noise. They all turned to see Octane with the most horrified face anyone has ever seen on a pony. Octavia's back hoof had met his crotch with a hard and powerful kick.

It was a feeling nopony, no matter how wicked, should have gone through.

"AAAAAAAAAAHHHH!" Octane gave a high pitched scream and fell to the ground, holding onto his crotch.

There was a fit of silence for a few moments before Vinyl spoke up. "Daaaamn, Tavi."

Octavia let out a sigh and calmed down, sitting down at the table with her head in her hooves. "I can't believe it."

"...That he lied to us?"

"I mean...y-yes. I just...feel so stupid."

Vinyl sighed as well. "He did take advantage of us."

Octavia looked up from her hooves and at Vinyl. "After that, I don't know if I'll ever find love. I mean, I'll never find another stallion who's as perfect or as sweet as hi–"

"OCTANE, OH MY GOSH!" exclaimed a voice near the front door of the bakery.

"H-Huh?" Octavia turned her head towards the entrance and saw Noteworthy running towards Octane, dropping a bouquet of flowers onto the ground.

"What happened?!"

"U-UHHH...HWHAAA..." Octavia was at a loss for words.

"My roommate j-just...RIGHT IN THE FAMILY JEWELS!"

"He doesn't look good! Help me take her...uh...him...my sibling to the hospital, Vinyl!"

Vinyl gave him a nod as her horn glowed. She levitated Octane onto her back and hurried with Noteworthy to the hospital, leaving Octavia with her eye twitching in a crazed manner.

"I-I-I-I-I...WH-WHAT JUST HAPPENED?!"

The two mares sat next to Octane's hospital bed while Noteworthy began to wrap his head around this whole situation. "So...let me get this straight. You two thought that Octane and I were the same pony trying to date both of you at the same time?"

"Well, the way that Tavi explained it made it seem smart."

"B-But...I...the wig!"

"Tavi...Octane wears the wig because a bunch of jerks at the bar shaved his head when he passed out drunk." To prove his point, he reached over and pulled off the wig, revealing Octane's extremely short mane that was starting to grow back from the incident.

"B-B-But you also were gone when Octane arrived!"

"I wanted to surprise you with flowers when I got done talking to Octane."

"And the reason you left unexpectedly yesterday?"

Noteworthy's face turned red with shame and embarrassment. "I felt like I was going to have diarrhea and I didn't want to ruin your toilet."

"O-Oh..." Octavia said as her ears lowered. "So...I messed up big time, didn't I?"

"A-A little bit..." Noteworthy answered.

"I-I...I'm sorry. I-I won't bother you again," she said as she started to walk out of the hospital bed. She stopped when she felt a warm hoof on her shoulder.

"T-Tavi, please don't leave. It was just a mistake!" Noteworthy pleaded before hugging her. "We all make them."

"Yes, b-but–"

"But nothing. You're my marefriend, and I'll stick with you through thick and thin." And with that, Noteworthy gently planted a kiss on her lips. Octavia's eyes widened a bit in surprise, until she closed them slowly and started to kiss him back.

"Mmmmm..."

"Mmmmm..."

"MMMMM! These chips are good!" came a voice from behind them. They both broke away quickly and turned to the hospital bed, where Octane was awake and eating a bag of already-opened chips from the table next to him. "Hm?" He stopped eating for a second and moved his head up. "Oh no, don't stop on my account! Just curious, though...why does my crotch hurt so bad?"

"Tavi smashed your melons pretty hard," Vinyl answered. "You gonna be alright?"

"Ehh, probably. We might not have foals in the future, but I wasn't ever going to be a dad anyway," he shrugged casually.

"Phew..." Vinyl wiped her brow with a hoof. "And I wasn't going to be a mom."

"So, thanks for that Tavi! Can I call ya 'Tavi?'"

"..." Octavia stared at him for a few seconds. She probably just obliterated his future foals and he was OKAY with this?

Then again, Vinyl did say he was perfect for her.

"Sure, Octane."

"Sweet. Okay, you two can start making out again," he said, laying back into his bed.

"Actually...we're probably going to go home to make out if that's okay with you," Noteworthy told him as his cheeks tinted red.

"'Okay with me?' What, am I suddenly the Prime Minister of Ponies Making Out? Go make out wherever you feel like."

"Uhh...thanks, br-bro." Face completely red with embarrassment, he led his marefriend out of the hospital, leaving Octane and Vinyl alone.

Vinyl trotted up towards his bed slowly and asked, "So, the doctors said you'll heal in about a week."

"Ah, that sucks. I was so looking forward to getting a little 'intimate,'" he chuckled, making her blush. She rolled her eyes and nudged his shoulder playfully. "But seriously, when I get healed, I wouldn't find having a bit of mushy gushy cuddling while watching a crappy romantic comedy. I mean, I know it's cliched, but...you know...might as well try it you know?" Vinyl stood silent for a bit and blushed a little bit. "U-Unless you think it's stupid."

"N-No!" she protested. "I-It's not stupid. It's kinda cute. I'd love to do that."

"Really?"

"Mhm! Totally!" she exclaimed excitedly, nuzzling his cheek.

"H-Heh. A-Awesome," he said, giving the same goofy smile Noteworthy usually has.

Although it was cute, it got Vinyl thinking. "Hey, do you ever think we're going to end up all disgustingly cute like Tavi and Note?"

A few seconds passed.

"Nope."

"Good, me neither."

Author's Note

Hey, this was supposed to be released on Valentine's Day. But of course, this story turned out to be longer than I expected. :twilightsheepish:

I really enjoyed writing this little fic. Maybe if enough people like it, I'll write a prequel to this story focusing more on Noteworthy and Octavia. That blue dork doesn't get enough attention in fics. :rainbowwild:
