Everyday Life With Three Sirens
Wheelchair/Another Fairy Tale(s)
Previous ChapterNext Chapter"Phew," I said, wiping away a bead of sweat from my forehead.
The sun was shinning bright and boy is it hot out here. It's about seventy degrees, which is what it said on the news this morning. I am finally done drying off the water and now it is time for the girls to try using it to get used to having these when they are in public. I placed the towel on the glass table, which stood close to the pool and went back to the wheelchair and flooded it so that I can bring it in.
"It is time," I said in a Rafiki-like manner, as I unfolded the wheelchair.
The girls levitated into the kitchen and stared down at the wheelchair.
"Adagio?" I asked.
"Yes?"
"You go first."
"Okay."
Adagio slowly levitates towards the chair and sits down upon it.
"It's not that comfortable," she said, as she tries to sit in a comfortable position, "how do you humans do it?"
"Perhaps I should get a wheelchair doughnut to make it comfy to sit on."
"Wheelchair doughnut? Is it tasty?" asked Sonata.
Adagio, Aria and I facepalmed.
"It's not food, Sonata," said the three of us.
Sonata blushes and twirls a curl in her poytail.
"Sowy," she says in a child-like manner, "I'm getting hungry."
"Don't worry, Sonie," I said, as I walked up to her and ruffled her hair, "we'll eat in a bit. For now, I want you girls to start practicing being on a wheelchair. You girls can't stay prison in my house forever."
"Are you saying that you'll kick us out?" asked Sonata, who had a sad look upon her face.
"I would never kick you girls out of my house," I said, giving her a kiss on her forehead, "you girls can stay here as long as you want. What I'm trying to tell you three is that you girls need to explore the outside world. You'll see many things that are far more interesting than seeing the things around my house."
"That's true," said Aria, "I'm getting bored staying around your house all day."
"Since I found this wheelchair from a alleyway, I now need to buy two more and then the four of us can leave the house at the time. Plus, we can drive up closer to movie theaters, stores, etc. No more walking a long distance to the theaters."
The girls gave me a clueless look.
"What?"
"What are you talking about?" asked Aria.
"Never mind, let's just get started on practicing," I said, as I walked up to Adagio, "now, you see that steel part right here, right?"
"Yes," said Adagio, as she gripped onto it.
"Give them a push forward at the same time."
She pushed forward, making her move five feet.
"Whoa!"
The girls looked surprised, as if they were kids who met a magician.
"If you want to move backwards, pull the steel part backwards."
Adagio placed her hands back onto the wheelchair and pulled towards me. She came back to the same spot and looked up at me.
"This is so cool," she said, giving me a smile.
"It's not that hard to use. I'm glad you girls are taking a like to it."
"Can I try it?" asked Sonata.
"Go right ahead," said Adagio, levitating out of the chair, letting Sonata sitting in it.
Sonata copied Adagio, as she moved forward, back and is now learning how to move left and right.
"Perhaps I can take one of you girls out with me tomorrow after my shift to the store."
"Can I go?" asked Aria.
"You'll go first, Aria," I said, as I gave her a smile.
She gave me a blush and looked away embarrassed.
"Thanks," she muttered.
"How about you girls play around on that, while I go make us some sandwiches."
"Okay," said the three.
I walked into the kitchen and began the process of making a PB&J.
6 Minutes Later…
"Lunch girls," I said, as I placed their sandwiches onto the table.
The girls came to the table and sat down. Sonata immediately gorged onto her sandwich like a piggy. I couldn't help, but crack a snicker. She looks up to me and gives me a cocked eyebrow.
"What's so funny?" she asked.
"It's nothing," I said, "you're face is covered with PB&J."
She gives me a few blinks and grabs a napkin.
"Sorry," she says, as she wipes her mouth.
As she wiped her mouth, I noticed a blush on her cheeks.
"It's okay, Sonie. You must have been pretty hungry."
"I wasn't feeling hungry, until now," she said, as she places her napkin down.
As I looked at her face, I still noticed she still had a smudge of jelly on her cheek.
"Sonie, you still have some jelly on your face. Let me get that," I said, as I took her napkin and gently wiped the jelly off, "there you go."
As I reeled back in my seat, her face looked red as a cherry.
"T-t-thank you."
"Your welcome."
The table went silent, as we were too hungry to even speak to one another. By the time we finished, the girls continued to play more around on the wheelchair so they can understand how to use it and go out of the house for fresh air.
"I wonder what we could do to have some fun before we go to the beach tonight," I thought to myself, "I think I should tell them the story of the sword and the stone. I can even bring along my guitar, which I haven't use in the past five weeks…"
I pondered for about a minute or two and then, it came to me. I stood up and walked over to the kitchen, where I left my phone and went over to my music.
"Girls. Let's do some dancing," I said, as I began to set up my music to connect to the TV.
"Dancing? Why?" asked Aria.
"It will kill us time and we'll have fun," I said, as I changed the TV over and began playing my music through the TV.

As the song continued, I began to dance to the music.
"Come on, girls. You know you want to dance," I said, as I began to feel the groove.
I grabbed ahold of Aria's hands and began spinning her. She was confused to what was going on, but she is somewhat enjoying this. She gave me an awkward smile, as I stopped spinning her and letting her move her hips back and forth to the rhythm. I look back to Adagio and Sonata, who seem to be interested.
"Come on you two. Join us."
I began to do some seventies dancing, which Sonata begins to enjoy. She laughs every time we change a dance move. Adagio and Aria began spinning around one another and made little jumps up and down. Sonata and I began to spin around till she got a bit dizzy and collapsed onto the couch with her eyes spinning. Adagio comes up to me and takes my hand for me to dance with her. Aria giggles and raises her hands in the air and waves them like she doesn't care.
As the song ended, the girls and I panted.
"Phew! That was fun, Jake," said Adagio, "can we do more?"
"Why of course," I said, as I switched the song to a classic rock tune.

"Oh! I like the guitar on this," said Sonata, as she did her air guitar to the beat.
"I know right?" I said, as I did the same.
Adagio and Aria began to dance yet again and Sonata and I did our air guitar, which was a lot of fun.
Minutes turned to hours, as the sky went from blue to black. Listening to music does kill time and I really like the music that the girls and I have been listening to. I decided to play a soft song this time and switched my music to that kind of song.

I set my phone down on the coffee table and held out my hand for Adagio.
"Dagi, may I have this dance?"
She smiled and softly grasped onto my hand.
"Absolutely," she said with a blush.
I place my hand on her back and the two of us slowly moved back and forth real slowly. I looked into her eyes, but she blushed every time I looked at her.
"I love the song," said Adagio, "it's… peaceful."
"You think so?"
"I do. Right girls?"
"It's okay," said Aria.
"I find it romantic," said Sonata.
Adagio and I chuckled, as the two of us continued our dance. I began to giver a twirl, which made her surprised.
"I never knew you were a good dancer," she said with surprise in her eyes.
"I've done a lot of dancing since high school when I went out with my first prom date."
"Prom date? Did you used to have a girlfriend?"
"I did, but she dumped me," I said, as I gave her another twirl.
"Why?"
"She found a guy who she said was better than I was."
"What a meanie," said Sonata.
"She sounds horrible," said Aria.
"She broke my heart and I've been single ever since."
The song comes to an end and I reeled Adagio up to my chest, which made her give out a little yelp.
"Hehe, sorry," I said.
"No prob," she said with a blush.
The two of us let go and the room went silent.
"Okay girls," I said, as I turned off the TV and disconnected my phone from it, "let's get going to the beach. Change out of your dresses and go put on a shirt. I'll meet you down here, along with my guitar."
"You have a guitar?!" said the girls with surprise.
"Indeed I do. It's for the opening of the next story I'll tell you girls. Now go get ready."
"We'll be right back," said Adagio, as she and her sisters levitated upstairs and closed the door for privacy.
"And I'll go get my guitar," I said quietly to myself, as I walked into the garage.
I walked back into the living room wearing my jacket that was still in the car and stood there waiting for them to come downstairs. I wonder what their reactions will be once I bring out my guitar down at the beach? I guess I'll have to find out soon enough.
The girls came down wearing shirts that I usually would wear; Adagio wore a shirt with Maetel from Galaxy Express 999; Sonata wore a DBZ shirt with Android 18; Aria wore another Berserk shirt with the brand of sacrifice in the middle.
"We're ready," said the girls with smiles on their faces.
"I really like the woman on my shirt," said Adagio, as she poked at her chest, "who is she?"
"Maetel from Galaxy Express 999," I explained.
"An express?" said Sonata with a cocked eyebrow.
"Yeah."
"Is it real?"
"No it isn't, Sonie. It's from an old TV series that my father showed me."
"Oh."
"Anyway, come on girls," I said, as I walked into the kitchen and towards the garage door, "let's go out."
The girls followed me, as I held the door open for them to enter the garage. I closed the door behind me and unlocked the door for the girls to settle in. I jumped in and pressed the button above me to open the garage door behind me. The vehicle turns on and I slowly backed up a little and stopped.
"Hang on a sec girls," I said, as I opened my door, "I need to lock the house door."
The girls nodded before I left and rushed over to the front of my house with the house key in my hand. I locked the door and rushed back into the car and buckled up. I then took out my phone and played some music.

"Oh! I like this one you played earlier," said Aria, as she and her sisters moved their heads to the song.
I smiled, as I backed up into the road.
"I wish more people around the world enjoyed this kind of music," I said, as I drove froward.
"Why?" asked Adagio.
"Do people hate this music?" asked Aria.
"People now a days listen to the same shitty music by musicians like Katy Perry and others. The music they play isn't music. The music I play, that's music."
"Wow… seems like you like the old stuff," said Sonata.
"I do," I said before making a right turn, "the old music is better and far more better than the music of today."
The girls continue to move their head to the music before the song switched to another.
As we made it to the beach, the girls and I got out the car. I walked to the back and pulled out a guitar from the back. The girls saw it and were very impressed.
"Whoa! You have a guitar?!" they said with surprise.
"It's for a story I'd like to tell you," I said, as I took out my lighter for the fire pit, "come. Let's go."
The girls followed me, as we made it to the bottom and went towards the same spot where I told them the story of The Little Mermaid. The spot looked untouched, which was surprising. The girls sat down, as I walked around the beach, picking up some sticks for the fire.
I came back and placed the sticks between us and began lighting them up. I sat down and grabbed onto my guitar and started tuning it up.
"You never told us you played on the guitar," said Adagio.
"Heh, I had this since I was in middle school," I said, as I continued to tune the guitar, "it's been with me for so many years and every once in a while I like to play on it. You girls are the first people besides my family to witness me play this."
The girls scooted close to one another, as I began to play the song:

"Bravo," said Sonata, as she and her sisters clapped for me.
"Thank you girls," I said, as I set my guitar aside.
"What is this story called?" asked Sonata.
"It's a story called The Sword in The Stone," I explained, "after many knights tried pulling the sword from the anvil, none could pull it out and has been abandoned for a long while. People began to forget about the sword and England was left with despair."
"That's it?" said Aria with a questioned look, "that's how it ends?"
"Not really. You see, before the story of the king who died, there was a baby who goes by the name Arthur; a man who treated him as a slave named Ector raised Arthur. He and his son Kay treated him horribly and made him do chores. However, when Arthur was done doing his chores, he goes off and meets a magical wizard named Merlin, who became both his tutor and friend. Arthur lean red many things and was educated. As time went by, Merlin knew that at some point to the future that he will be the one to pull the sword from the stone."
"Could he?" asked Adagio.
"One day during a tournament, Arthur was sent to fetch Kay's sword, but was taken stolen by a thief. Arthur tried chasing the man, but failed. Arthur almost lost hope until he saw the sword in the stone. He walks up to the sword and pulls it out. Arthur hurries back to the tournament and everyone was surprised that he was able to pull the sword out of the stone, but was accused of being a liar. Arthur, Ector, Kay and everyone else in the kingdom hurried back to the anvil to prove that he is the one who pulled it. As Arthur placed the sword back into the anvil, Kay tries to pull it out, but fails. They then allowed Arthur to pull it and it was a miracle, Arthur was fit for the thrown. 'Hail, king Arthur! Long live the king!' shouted everyone, as Arthur sat on his throne. And thus, the kingdoms of England and Britain were united."
"Great story, but I liked The Little Mermaid better," said Sonata.
"Could you tell us one more?" asked Aria.
I pondered on what other story I could tell and finally thought of another.
"This one is a really good one. I remember seeing an anime adaptation of this story before Disney did it."
"What's it called?" asked Adagio.
"Beauty and The Beast," I explained before clearing out my throat, "once upon a time, there was a wealthy merchant that has six children; three sons and daughters. The youngest of the sisters was Beauty, who was kinder than the elder sisters who were wicked and selfish. One day, the merchant loses his wealth, so now he and his daughters were forced to live in a small farmhouse. Years pass, he goes off to a city to see if it had anything valuable from a cargo ship. Before he left, he asked his sons and daughters if they wanted anything from the trip. The elder sisters asked for clothing, jewels and clothing; the sons ask for weapons and horses for hunting; Beauty asked for a rose because there aren't any where they lived and roses looked beautiful. As the merchant made it, he was shocked to find out the cargo has been seized to pay his debts, leaving him without money to get his children gifts. On his way back, he was in the middle of a storm and shelter himself inside of a palace."
"A palace?" asked the sisters.
"Indeed. An unknown figure opens the door and let's him in without making a noise. Outside of the castle was cold and wet, but inside was different. Inside the castle, it was warm and quiet. The merchant finds tables full of food and drinks for him from the palace's unknown caretaker. The merchant gouged down on the food and decides to spend the night. The next morning, before the merchant leaves the palace, his eye caught a rose garden and saw a rose that was perfect for Beauty. As he plucked it, the beast confronted him with anger. He was a tall white haired creature with horns, red eyes, and a lion-like face. The beast was furious that he takes something away from him after accepting his hospitality and therefore, he must die."
The girls gasped.
"The merchant begged the beast to spare his life. All that the merchant wanted was to take the rose for his younger daughter Beauty. The beast makes an agreement; he can give Beauty the rose, but she must take his place. The merchant agrees and makes him go back with wealth, jewels and fine clothes for his sons and daughters, including the rose. It was tough, but he eventually told Beauty about the bargain. The brothers say they will go to the palace and slay him, but they would be beaten by the like of him. Beauty sadly accepts and heads over to the beast's palace. The beast treats her kindly and calls her his servant. He gave her whatever she wanted, but refused his offers. Every night, she kept on having these dreams of a prince who keeps on asking her why she refuses his offers and replies by saying that she doesn't love the beast. As she continued to have these dreams, she believed that the prince in her dreams is a captive somewhere in the palace. She went through a lot of the rooms, but couldn't find him. For seven months, Beauty was taken care of by the beasts servants by giving her fine clothing, but no avail."
"Poor girl," said Sonata, "why?"
"One day, the girl becomes too homesick that she asked the beast to go see her family. The beast allows it, but she must come back in exactly one week. Beauty goes back home and brings along an enchanted mirror and ring. That mirror is special; it allows her to see what is happening back at the palace and the rings allows her to be taken to the palace immediately. When she arrived, her sisters were jealous by her clothing. Beauty gave them a lesson and chopped up a lot of onions to make them cry."
"Heh! Step bitches," said Aria, making the rest of us laugh.
"Anyway, the sisters hoped that Beauty breaking her promise and making the beast eat her. Beauty doesn't believe that, but eventually does end up breaking the beasts promise. Beauty eventually begins to feel guilty and decides to check on him with the enchanted mirror. She was shocked to find the beast nearly dead near the garden to where her father had taken the rose. She immediately uses the ring and returns to the beast. The beast lied there quietly and Beauty begins to weeping saying that she loves him."
The girls went to tears and wiped them away with their arms.
"As her tears touched against his white fur, a miracle came. The beast's ugliness melted away to reveal to her a handsome prince like the one from her dreams. The prince tells her that long ago, a fairy placed a curse upon him because he wouldn't allow her into his palace for shelter from the cold. The only way for him to turn back to normal was if he found true love despite of his ugliness. Beauty and the prince were married and they lived happily ever after."
"What a wonderful story," said Adagio.
"Very touching," said Sonata.
"I have to admit, that this story is just as good as the little mermaid," said Aria.
"Your welcome," I said, as I pull out my phone and looked at the time, "It's already nine? Time went by so quickly. All right girls, let's go home."
I stood up and gave out a stretch. The girls and I headed up the stairs but suddenly, we heard a noise; a rather unnatural noise. It sounded like a slightly high pitched whale. The girls and I stopped and turned around towards the beach. Nothing was there; only the beach itself.
"Girls, can I ask you to do me a favor tomorrow?"
"What's up?" asked Adagio.
"I'd like you three to swim around the beach till you find something… something unknown."
"Like what?"
"I've been noticing ever since I've been taking you girls to this beach, that I've been seeing strange things when you girls are having your fun."
"Really? I haven't seen anything out there," said Aria.
"Tomorrow, you girls look around out there and see if you can find anything bizarre."
"Okay, we'll do it," said Aria.
"I'm glad," I said to her, as I ruffled her hair, "come. Let's go get a milkshake before bedtime."
"Milkshake? What's that?" asked Sonata.
"It's a delicious frozen treat. It's like ice cream."
The girls' mouths began to drool.
"Come on, let's go," said Adagio, as she gripped onto my wrist.
She pulls me up to the car, until she, her sisters and I jumped in and buckled up.
"You girls ready?"
"Ready," said the three.
"Let's go get us milkshakes," I said, as I placed the key in the ignition and began moving back onto the road turning back.
Three minutes have passed and the car went silent.
"You girls want some music?" I asked, as I pull out my phone and connected it.
"Sure. Something calm, please," said Adagio.
"Sure," I said, as I pressed onto a calm song:

"Did he just say 'Galaxy Express 999'?" asked Sonata.
"Good ear, Sonie. Indeed he is."
"Can I ask you something?"
"Sure."
"What will it be like if we ever do go on the express?"
"If we do, we'll be flying across the galaxy and see many new planet. We'll meet new people and many bizarre things."
"Whoa."
