Musicians of ponyville: Hearts and hooves day.
"Vinyl! Why did you change the code for your bass cannon?!"
"Tavi, I didn't! You just got it wrong!"
"No I didn't!"
"Alright, I did change it..." Vinyl got out of bed and went downstairs to turn off the bass cannon. She approached more and more slowly, "The wubs are too loud! I can't get there!"
"Use this!" Octavia handed her a cello bow. Vinyl lunged forward, and pressed the button.
"Wait, didn't we use a keypad originally?"
"I think so. How did it change to a button?"
"I don't know." Vinyl handed the bow back to Octavia.
"Probably physics. Always changing..."
"Bye, Tavi! See you tonight!" Vinyl ran out the door to a job she doesn't have.
"Wait, isn't it hearts and hooves day today?" Vinyl wondered, as she walked through a market full of heart shaped sweets and cards. "I don't think so. It's probably tomorrow."
A random pony started yelling out to nobody in particular about a clearance deal on a card-and-sweets combo pack.
"Maybe it is hearts and hooves day..."
Derpy walked up to Vinyl. "Nice day, Octavia, what did you sell for Scratch?"
It took a moment to realize what Derpy meant, but she figured it out. "Wait, it's hearts and hooves day?"
"Yeah, happy hearths colding!" Derpy, yet again, spoke near- gibberish.
"Okay, thanks. Bye." Vinyl ran off before Derpy could say more.
"So it is hearts and hooves day... What can I get for Tavi?" Vinyl thought about it for a few minutes, then jumped upright in that "For equestria!" Pose that twilight made some seasons back. "Wait, no, I got nothing." She walked around the stores for a bit. Lots of signs said, 'Hearts and Hooves day special!' or, 'For that special somepony!' etc. etc.
"Wait, unicorns are magic, so they can make cool stuff, right?" Vinyl tried to materialize a cute heart between vinyl and Octavia on s card, but it came out as some wubs. "Oops, right, unicorn magic rule number uno, your magic is your cutie mark, and you will only likely be able to perform that magic."
Vinyl decided to walk into one of the shops, looking puzzled and curious."Looks like you're trying to find something for your special somepony!" Said the salespony.
"Uh, how could you guess? Not like I walked in here, looking puzzled or curious or something. That would've been a dead giveaway."
The salespony ignored the remark, and dragged Vinyl around the store, showing her everything from sugar cubes to cards, and everything in between. "I think I'll get that." Vinyl pointed towards the cheapest box of flavoured sugar cubes. It looked big, but really only had, like, three cubes.
"Wonderful choice!" Much salespony here. He HAS to say that. The salespony brought the box to the counter, and Vinyl paid for it. "Have a nice day!"
Vinyl walked out into a rainy day. "Oh no..." She tried to block it with a protection spell, but she could only perform wub spells. "Wait, I have MAD wub skills!" Vinyl began to blast wubs everywhere, creating a waterproof dome. She began a slow walk home, clearly annoyed from how slippery it was.
Vinyl finally got back to the house, and was about to open the door, when she slipped. She lost her magic grip on the cubes and if flew off against the wind. "Really, what is up with physics today?"
"I'm back!" Cried out Vinyl as she walked in the house.
"What did you get me, Vinyl?"
"Uh, nothing. It blew away into the wind."
"Is equestria defying physics again? I should ask to get a letter sent to the princess on the matter."
Vinyl wandered over to a couch, and sat down. A machine in front of her whirred, then began blasting extremely loud wubs, blowing Vinyl back in her seat.
"HEY TAVI! C'MERE!"
"VINYL, NOT NOW!"
The wubs powered down.
"Vinyl, it's hearts and hooves day. Where are we going for dinner?"
"Uhh... Dinner? Give me a sec..." Vinyl tapped her chin in a way that indicated thinking.
"I can't take it! I'm going to lie down!"
Vinyl nodded, and when Octavia left the room, she grinned. "That can always get rid of her in a flash."
Vinyl walked out the door once again, and had a genius idea!
"I know just what to do!"
That night...
"Tavi! dinner!"
"Is it romantic?"
"Yes!"
Octavia stumbled down the stairs to a wonderful display. The table was in line with the two chairs, and a table cloth on top. All the cutlery was arranged perfectly around the spotless plates, and the drink glasses were on the right, with a small napkin in each one, each fold just perfect. In the middle of the table, there were candles in a heart shape, along with a rose in the center of the heart. No lights were on, and instead of wubs, soothing, romantic music played in the background.
"Vinyl, you did all this?"
"Yes, I absolutely did."
"Oh... Vinyl..."
They sat down at the table.
"Wait, isn't there a guy who brings food for us?"
"I got it covered."
They stared into each other's eyes for a few minutes, and then the doorbell rang.
"Vinyl, you'd better know what you're doing."
Vinyl stepped over to the doorway, and spoke with the pony at the door. "Uh huh... Okay... Got it..."
She stepped back over to the table, and put down a box of Equestria pepperoni pizza down in the table.
"Vinyl!"
Author's Note
I actually didn't think I'd add the ending I did at first, but when I thought of it, I just had to figure out how to change the story. Happy hearts and hooves day! Or a few days after, or whenever you're reading this.
On my iPad, which I use to write my stories, some autocorrect fails were:
Wubs turns into SUVs.
Tavi turns into Ravi.
Vinyl turns into Cinyl.
NOBODY USES THE WORD CINYL WHAT THE HECK?!?! It's not even a word! I think.
I should turn off autocorrect sometime soon.
I realize it's the 16th, but at least I got it up at some point. I really don't want to have to wait 364 days just to post one story.
