Equestria's newest and quite possibly oldest god

Hello ladies and gentlemen who have read this story up to this point. I am afraid it is time I take a bit of a look at my work and make some serious decisions about where this profile is going. Over the past few weeks I have read this, the old explanation and missing draconequus and I have realised something. Mortem doesn't work, at all. Whilst he may be an amusing piece of head canon to let me live out whatever strange idea comes into my head regarding the MLP universe, he conceptually doesn't work when actually being used. This is for a number of reasons:

.He has to influential a back story to be not mentioned until post season 5

.He has to meant established relationships with characters that never show any actual knowledge of his existence on the show

.He is too powerful to be placed into a plot and still have a reasonable villain without Mortem being the hero every time

.His place in hell and his ability to manipulate death make him impossible to characterise outside of a fight and he ends up getting a case of split-personality

.He to highly reflects my own cocky attitude to work in the kinds of serious situations I want him to

.He requires and entire re-write of the Equestria back story and that all of Celestia's previous exposition be false just to fit

.He constantly needs new powers just to actually work

.He is to far above mortal to be able to do any non emergency plots

As I am sure some of you have noticed he is a character who is far to big for his boots and has a serious case of superman syndrome but no suitable cryptonite can be found.

Here is what is going to happen. This is being cancelled (sorry if you are the one person that liked it.) Mortem is being thrown out the window and replaced by the OC I mentioned having the idea of when I was debating cancelling Missing Draconequus. To give you a basic idea, he will be a human that has been deposited in Equestria and turned into an Alicorn (Still gotta have a decently powerful main character.) After which he will again be shipped with Twilight and between the two Scootaloo will be adopted and she will subsequently open up a relationship with spike. As you have guessed I did base Mortem's attitude vaguely off my own thus some traits of him will transfer over such as the slightly mentally repressive internal voice thing and the over all pseudo-cockiness. So it may be a while until I start writing that as I am going to actually plan the story out first. However sorry Mortem, goodbye old friend, you shall live on in my weird head canon and die in a climactic battle with the changeling army as I had planned originally. Oh and just as something of a teaser the new character's name is going to be James, I knew a James once and he was as much a cocky twat as I am so it sounds like a good fit for the new guy.
