Was this really what life was going to be like? Just hiding away so they don't find you. Just watching, waiting being the only few with a cutie mark that is different. With everypony having the same cutie mark.
No pony is different, no pony is better then the other. Everypony and everything is the same. Was this hell or just a never ending nightmare. For Twilight it's both.
Losing everything, her mother, father and brother, her home to the ruler of Equestria: Queen Starlight Glimmer. With Twilight having an cutie mark held a difference from others it made her stand out.
Twilight sigh she just couldn't believe it, this one unicorn defeated most of the villains becoming a hero to Equestria. Everypony is just so dumb and blind.
It didn't take long for Starlight Glimmer to start taking away other ponies cutie marks, it all started in the grand city of Canterlot. Then Las Pegasus and so forth and so forth until each and everyone was the same.
Even the princess Celestia and princess Luna got their cutie marks taken away and put in Tartarus for their crimes against the pony kind.
Starlight lied saying "That we couldn't get along because there are those two. They control the sun and moon, they are far too powerful. So I'll take control making sure that everything is perfect!"
They cheer but they were just stupid with night lasting longer then most days the now Queen of Equestria didn't know how to raise and lower the sun and moon. Only the two alicorn sisters did and they didn't tell her how, they never did.
Twilight sigh this world has fallen to the point that there is no hope in turning it back into the right world of Equestria anymore. This is life now living in personally hell.
How many was left? How many ponies are different like her? Who still got they cutie marks? Who is willing to fight and take back the world that long forgotten?
But where ever they could be, and whom ever they could be. Twilight hope they was safe, hope that she can meet them. But until that day Twilight shut her eyes falling asleep in her cave on the mountains.
16:23, date: 22/1/?? The years always escaped her head away. Search bots made by Starlight Glimmer it helps her find the ones left. The ones who still are different.
The trash bin shock with a head of a filly rising out of the trash. She just couldn't care less. Scootaloo stood being the only filly left to be different but the only one who yet to have a cutie mark.
Scootaloo shallow knowing her used to be friends: Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle didn't have their cutie marks ether. Scootaloo hoped that they wasn't stuck like this, doomed to be the way Starlight Glimmer see's the world.
The young pegasus promise her friends that she would help them but they soon grew to they life. Thinking it was perfect. This is not perfect.
This is chaos, no Scootaloo would have like to live in a world where Discord ruled everything beside. Queen Starlight Glimmer, Scootaloo hated thinking that piece of dirt could be Queen.
But it happen and it happen quickly too. This was her future just running hoping Queen and that word used to describe an female dog doesn't find her.
The best hideouts are normally underground or in some hidden cave. But anywhere else Queen Starlight will find you and turn you into another face in the crowd.
With her being the same just like the pony sitting next her, or her teacher. But if everyone should be the same why does she rule?
Scootaloo froze quickly hiding behind a random trash bin when a Search bot went pass to scan the area for any ponies still left with a cutie mark or those who don't have one.
Breathing in heavily her heart beat rising high. Scootaloo hoped that the dumb bot would leave soon. It stayed for awhile before it flew away, causing Scootaloo to let out a sigh of relief.
I better keep moving. I shouldn't slow down now Scootaloo thought to herself.
Scootaloo looked to see a cave near by and lucky the those dumb Search Bots doesn't know how to climb.
Scootaloo climb it and fell on the cold hard ground breathing heavily with her eyes shut closed.
Rainbow Dash watched from the rooftops, not for the Search bots. But she watched an yellow coated pegasus who was going to be her wife before this happen.
Rainbow kept her cutie mark but her almost wife got rid of her's. Fluttershy. Her poor little Fluttershy. Rainbow tried to tell her that she can protect her that Fluttershy can be different.
But Fluttershy didn't listen but she did promise not to tell Starlight Glimmer about her so Rainbow could be free well until the Search bots was made.
Rainbow wasn't one to live in fear, but she wanted to be different to stand out from the crowd. But now she has to be careful crossing the street!
Those dumb bots wouldn't know if you're wearing a dress of some kind. But every dress is the same and they all show the cutie mark.
Rainbow wore a silver neckless for a small reminder that once Starlight Glimmer is taken down, Rainbow can get married to the one she loves.
Oh so she thought before she saw Fluttershy kiss a stallion on the cheek. Rainbow grabbed her neckless but kept it on.
Fluttershy was better off without her, plus the law mares can't marry mares and stallions can't marry stallions.
That's a big load, but it was true. Everyplace was the same, Rainbow looked at the dark clouds covering the sky. Even on the off chance that the sun does rise there no pegasus to clear away the clouds.
The colourful pegasus hadn't felt the nice warm heat from the sun what felt like years. Starlight Glimmer may have only been in control for a month now but for Rainbow Dash it felt like forever.
Not much food for her to eat and her water was very little. She wished to be like the ones who eat a nice hay burger but just like cutie marks everyone has the same thing to eat.
Which Rainbow didn't even think it was real food for and it was gray. Wasn't there any apples left to eat?
It doesn't matter. All what matter is getting to Starlight Glimmer, Rainbow knew it was near to impossible to get to her throne room.
But there was no other choice taking down Queen Starlight Glimmer was the only way to bring back the old Equestria. The better one in Rainbow's eyes.
But Starlight Glimmer had an army, she have the whole world on her side while Rainbow Dash is and will forever be. Alone.
Daring Do looked quickly left and right seeing if the coast was clear. The mare have been trying to fight Starlight but everywhere she turns the Queen of Equestria is always five steps ahead of her.
Daring Do tried to build an army to fight the queen but the dragons, yaks, and zebras but they had all sign over to Starlight Glimmer.
"Damn it" Daring whispered seeing a Search bot moving though the streets.
She flew to the rooftops to get away just being close at getting caught and losing her one of an kind cutie mark.
Daring Do looked over the place, Canterlot once the grand city home of the princess of the sun and the princess of the moon.
It too bad those two had lost and been locked away most likely forever. Why was this Starlight Glimmer perfect world?
Nothing is different, everything the same. How can anypony call this perfect? Or worst. Home.
This isn't perfect, this will never be home! Daring stomped her hoove in rage. She look at Canterlot's castle, home to the all powerful Queen Starlight Glimmer.
Daring works alone but Starlight Glimmer she may need some help. Any help would be welcome at this point.
But no ponies would, they think that they are happy and safe with Starlight Glimmer being Queen. In her world, where there are no other ponies left that have different cutie marks.
Daring need a friend but she was by herself alone. While those Search bots look for ponies with cutie marks. It was only a matter of time until they found her.
Daring turn and looked at a cyan blue pegasus with the two locking eyes. Getting into a fighting pose.
No pony is left, this pegasus is just going to turn me in Rainbow and Daring both thought.
Twilight awoke at the sound of thunder, booming from the dark cover sky. It nothing new, they're bound to happen with no pony able to clear the skies.
But the weight on her leg did confuse her, looking down seeing an orange pegasus filly with a wild purple mane hugging her leg in fear. But what caught Twilight eye was her flank.
This filly didn't have a cutie mark, she is what is known as a blank flank, dumb name but important. Twilight smiled knowing now that Starlight Glimmer didn't have everypony what Twilight once thought.
"Hey it be alright" Twilight spoke up causing Scootaloo to look at her.
"Don't worry I don't work for Starlight Glimmer. I still have a different cutie mark. But I could help but notice your lack of one" Twilight said causing Scootaloo to cover her blank flank with her tail.
"What no don't be a shame. It a wonderful thing!" Twilight said causing Scootaloo to look at the unicorn in question.
"Let me explain. It means you got your whole future to find out who you are. You can be anything you want. That is if Starlight Glimmer was in charge" Twilight said making Scootaloo nodded.
"I'm Twilight Sparkle by the way, who are you?" Twilight question
"Scootaloo" she whispered, looking away from her.
"I know what's on your mind. You want to find a safe-" Twilight started
"No. I want Equestria back. I want to throw Queen Starlight Glimmer off her throne" Scootaloo said jumping off the stone bed.
"And your going to help me!" Scootaloo added
"I am?" Twilight wondered
"Yeah! Your a unicorn you gotta know some spells that can take down Starlight Glimmer!" Scootaloo said flashing a winning smile.
"Sorry Scootaloo. All the spells I know is how to teleport, and picking things up. That's all" Twilight explain causing Scootaloo to moan.
"You got to be kidding me! I found a unicorn that doesn't even know any spells!" Scootaloo cried out in frustration.
"I do know spells I just don't know many, I never got into Princess Celestia School of Gifted Unicorns" Twilight said making Scootaloo roll her eyes.
"Great. That's just great!" Scootaloo said walking away.
"Hey where are you going?" Twilight asked
"To stop Starlight Glimmer with or without you!" Scootaloo cried out making Twilight panic.
"What?! Hey wait for me!" Twilight called racing to catch up with Scootaloo.
Starlight Glimmer, Queen of Equestria that feels good. Where everything is the same, nothing different at all. Everything is just perfect, forever.
Everything was perfect with everypony smiling happily that their new life's, with a cold ice tea and her little dragon servant Spike it felt great to be Queen.
Starlight Glimmer looked at the screens that showed what the Search bots saw, everything the same. Perfect. Queen Starlight Glimmer smiled in victory before she saw something.
It was small and in the background but it was as clear as day to the Queen. Seeing an filly pegasus and a unicorn mare. The unicorn having a cutie mark and the pegasus not having one.
Starlight Glimmer threw her cup onto the ground in a rage. Causing Spike to rush into the room to clean it up.
"That is impossible!" Starlight Glimmer yelled.
"How can there be ponies who are different. I won't stand for this. Search bots!" Starlight Glimmer cried out
The Search bots came into their Queen's room, seeing Queen Starlight Glimmer now sitting on her throne.
"Bring me, a purple unicorn mare and a orange pegasus filly. You should know who they are since they still got their cutie marks!" Starlight yelled at them causing the bots to step away from their Queen.
"Go, bring those two to me. I want to make them just like everypony else" Starlight Glimmer said before laughing.
"More ice tea, my Queen?" Spike question, with the young drake being on one knee holding a silver tray above his head.
"Don't mind if I do. I always like celebrating my victories early" Starlight Glimmer said.
"That great my Queen. Will there be anything more my Queen?" Spike wondered.
"No, you can go" Starlight Glimmer said waving her hoove causing Spike to run out the room.
"Oh yes it good to be Queen" Starlight Glimmer said to herself.
Daring and Rainbow's eyes locked, not caring about the ringing bells causing the ponies on the streets to begin rushing inside to escape from the Search bots.
It was just Daring and Rainbow, ready to fight. It will end now they both thought that the other is just one of Starlight Glimmer idea of the "perfect" pony.
But the fact still stands that now Rainbow flew at her with Daring moving out of the way.
For a pegasus she not too fast Daring thought to herself just when Rainbow kicked her.
Daring bucked her legs, causing Rainbow to fly into the doorway leading to the stairs.
The cyan pegasus fell to the ground, letting out a few coughs. Her eyes looked at the pegasus.
She tough, but I'm tougher Rainbow thought to herself. Beginning to get cocky.
The two pegasus mares charged at each other with a bright purple light cause them both to stop.
A purple unicorn and an orange filly stood in the middle of their battle.
"Hey what gives!?" Rainbow cried out her question
"Shh." Twilight said, her eyes locked on the Search bots.
"Did you just shh me?" Rainbow wondered, knowing full well that she did.
"Shh. Good we lost them" Twilight said sighing in relief.
"I could have taken those dumb bots on!" Scootaloo cried out
"I like this kid" Rainbow stated.
"Yeah and then we'll be like everypony else. I hate this world so much!" Twilight cried out.
"Then help me take Starlight Glimmer down. I need each of you. Us four are the only ones who are different" Daring said causing the others to fall on the ground.
"Look I barley know any of you girls. But taking down Starlight Glimmer she the Queen, it's impossible. You asking us to ether lose our cutie marks or worst die" Twilight said causing Daring to walk away a bit.
"I know, I don't know you and you don't know me. Hell we just meet by accident, but Starlight Glimmer is still Queen. She still in charge. We may just be some random ponies off the streets but we can try to fight back. Get back our Equestria" Daring said with the others staying quiet.
Rainbow Dash arose to her hooves looking at Daring.
"I want to take Starlight Glimmer off her throne. I'll be glad to fight by your side" Rainbow said making Daring nodded.
Scootaloo soon stood as tall as her filly leg could make her.
"I want to join your fight. I want a childhood back, I want my friends back" Scootaloo said making Daring smile.
The three pegasus turn to look at Twilight each of them having a smile. Twilight rolled her eyes and stood up too, matching them.
"Great now I'm standing up too. We're all a bunch of assholes standing in a circle" Twilight said.
"Now what's your plan?" Twilight asked.
"Alright this is the plan-"
First Twilight will bring us in to Queen Starlight Glimmer castle, having painted her cutie mark so she can fit in.
Remember Starlight Glimmer only attack force is unicorns and everypony the same. All we need to worry about is those Search bots.
Now while Twilight is taking Rainbow and I, Scootaloo here would cut off her power. Making those Search bots useless.
Next will be her throne room, Starlight Glimmer will likely take our cutie marks away once we get inside. Dash and I can't let this happen. Take the the stick, take her power that aloud to get rid of cutie marks.
Remember we need Starlight Glimmer alive, to get everypony cutie marks back, then she can go to jail for her crimes too everyone.
"Any questions?" Daring asked, finishing telling her plan to them.
No pony rose they hoove, final battle the fate of Equestria rested on them only.
"Good, let's get ready" Daring said.
Queen Starlight Glimmer castle. The now ruler hadn't change much about it, but it was somehow haunting.
Everything just felt, wrong for the lack of words. From the framed pictures of the Queen to the Earth ponies serving their Queen.
Twilight didn't like this at all. She hope to Celestia if by some off change she watching, she doesn't get caught.
The unicorn eyes looked to Daring and Rainbow in chains with Twilight holding it. The cold feel, she felt everypony who hid to keep their cutie mark.
Until their was found and drag here ready to become just like the ponies next to him or her.
Even looking out for those Search bots that are all over the castle. Twilight hope that they are fooled by the her painted on cutie mark.
I sure hope Scootaloo is okay Twilight thought looking at the air ducts.
The orange pegasus kept moving not even daring to slow down. If she gets caught it all over.
Kiss her life goodbye, be just like her friends. Scootaloo shock her head getting that thought out of there.
No! That will not happen. That will never happen, Starlight Glimmer! Scootaloo thought to herself before she ended up in the air conditioning unit.
"Right, the air ducts ain't a secret way to escape the building. It the way how they ventilate it" Scootaloo said to her self.
Lucky for her, no Search bots go in here. She's safe. For now anyway. But she still need that power off.
She just kicked the floor, opening a secret hidden door. Scootaloo smiled jumping in there.
The room was complete dark. The flightless filly couldn't see a darn thing two steps ahead of her.
Scootaloo bit her lip, she has grown used to the dark to be able to see in it. Maybe she should listen to her mother and eat her carrots.
Scootaloo sigh at the thought of her mother. She hoped that she was alright in her home town of Ponyville.
Scootaloo couldn't back down now the others are counting on her. Even in the darkness Scootaloo moved on.
We are going to win. No matter what Scootaloo thought to her self.
Meanwhile Twilight with a chain up Rainbow and Daring walked into Queen Starlight Glimmer throne room.
There she sat, ruler of all of Equestria with a joyful smile on her lips.
"Oh happy days, happy days indeed. Two pegasi and they ain't like me or you. Shame, just shameful." Starlight Glimmer said looking at the two pegasi.
"Thank you for bring them here sister" Starlight said pulling Twilight in a hug.
"Oh, I just miss the look on the pony face when they lose their cutie marks. That look brings me so much joy!" Starlight Glimmer cried out bring out that stick.
The Queen of Equestria picked it up just to have it blow out of her hooves. Starlight Glimmer looked angry at Twilight. Just when Daring and Rainbow got out of they chains.
"Oh, I see now. You want to over throw me. Bring Equestria back to the chaotic mess it is!" Starlight Glimmer said, causing Twilight to step forward.
"That's where your wrong. We maybe different but we're together for a goal we bond and that bond will never break" Twilight said causing Starlight eye to twitch.
"Oh would you shut it!" Starlight Glimmer yelled causing Twilight to step back a bit.
"Search bots!" The Queen called out with her Search bots entering the room.
"Destroy them!" Starlight ordered, but the bots stayed still. "I said destroy them!" Starlight Glimmer repeated.
"Yeah you may want to check your power" Scootaloo said, with her sitting in Starlight Glimmer throne.
Starlight Glimmer crush her teeth together lighting up her horn. With the magical blast aim at Scootaloo before a purple magical blast cut it off.
Twilight tried to stand her ground, with every unicorn being the same why is Starlight Glimmer more stronger? Or was that just the fact that Twilight is weak on magic.
It doesn't matter Starlight Glimmer won the small magic duel with Twilight flying to the wall. Falling to the ground in defeat.
Rainbow and Daring tried to get closed to her, but Starlight held the two still throwing them to the wall also. Starlight Glimmer laughed, that laugh sound like it belongs to a mad Queen.
Well it fix on how crazy the Queen is becoming.
"Oh, you think you could take me down? Become guardians of Equestria?" Starlight Glimmer question them, with each of them being too weak to answer.
"Then you failed. This world is mine, it belongs to me. You just don't understand how better the world is now then before" Starlight said, while Twilight forced her self to stand up.
"This world and it ponies are the true meaning of perfect. Their are now that there is nothing different everything and everyone being just the same" Starlight Glimmer finished before Twilight shot her with her magic.
The Queen grabbed Twilight causing the two to land on the hard ground. Twilight moan in pain with Starlight using a shield to save her self from the fall.
Ponies came outside and watched their Queen Starlight Glimmer place her hoove on top of Twilight.
"Poor Twilight so brave" Starlight Glimmer said forcing her hoove more on Twilight, causing her to scream in pain.
"You just think your strong enough to beat me?" Starlight said with moving away before she shot at her.
Twilight yelled in pain, roll on the stone cover ground. Rain began to pour from the dark sky, making both Starlight Glimmer and Twilight coats to become wet.
"I didn't know this at first. But I'll do anything to bring Equestria back to normal" Twilight said, standing up.
The purple unicorn yelled a bit with her broken back leg. Starlight laugh at Twilight trying to stand up but falling to the ground again.
"You can't even stand, what hopes do you have to beat me?" Starlight Glimmer question boasting her self higher.
Unbeknownst to her the rain water began to wash away her and Twilight's painted cutie marks.
"I won't stop fighting Starlight Glimmer. Until the world back to normal I will never quit!" Twilight said, forcing her self to stand up.
With an eye roll Starlight Glimmer shot her back to the ground again. Laughing again at Twilight, watching like a puppet in a play and Starlight Glimmer holds and the strings.
Starlight laugh rang though Twilight's ears, haunting her. That victory laugh the one that sound like she could never loss.
Starlight Glimmer just for Rainbow, Daring and Scootaloo to stand in front of the fallen Twilight.
"Move out of my way!" Starlight Glimmer ordered
"Never! You not going to hurt our friend anymore!" Rainbow yelled with the three pegasi standing tall.
"I'm not afraid on hurting you just like your weak friend" Starlight Glimmer said, lighting up her horn.
Just before another pony got in front of Twilight. Then another, Starlight's eyes looked around her. Her subjects are going to a powerless unicorn side!
"What is the meaning of this I am your Queen!" Starlight Glimmer yelled
"No, your a liar." One pony said with Starlight noting her cutie mark.
The old Queen laughed walking back just to be block, with her left and right. No where to go.
"You see I'm just like you" Starlight said to all the crossed ones.
"I want my cutie mark back!" A pony yelled with another and another following whom ever said it.
"It over Starlight. Give it up" Daring said with Starlight looking all around her.
"No. I'm the only leader that can control this world" Starlight Glimmer said just when Twilight stood up with Rainbow helping her.
"No your not. The world was perfect before. No pony knows what their want until it too late but here it not" Twilight said looking around.
"We all have a chance to build a future a better one. One where we're different but can get along like the world before" Twilight finished with each pony smiling and nodding.
Daring took hold of Twilight with Starlight Glimmer storming around in a rage.
"I will not stand for this! I will never-" Starlight said, before Rainbow punched her in the face. Knocking the old Queen out.
"What? I was getting sick of her talking" Rainbow Dash said with a shrug.
One month later...
Twilight smiled, standing on top of the rooftop, the bright sun beaming on the grand city.
It has only been a month since her, Rainbow, Daring, Scootaloo and everypony in Canterlot defeat Queen Starlight Glimmer.
Twilight smiled knowing that she knows everypony got their rightful cutie marks, Starlight Glimmer is locked away and now that the world is in harmony.
Rainbow landed next to the purple unicorn with a smile.
"Hey" Rainbow started
"Hey" Twilight replied
"So this is different. It just seems unreal, I don't know what I can do in this world now" Rainbow said, causing Twilight to look at her in confusion.
"What do you mean? What about Fluttershy? Or Scootaloo?" Twilight question
"Shy married, Scootaloo went back to Ponyville and Daring going to go on adventures. I'm alone Twi'" Rainbow said, sitting down the building with Twilight copying her.
"That's where your wrong, you still got me" Twilight said, causing Rainbow to lean her head on her shoulder.
"Thanks Twi, for everything" Rainbow said, with Twilight wrapping her hoove around Rainbow.
"That what friends are for" Twilight said

Well this story is me trying to get back into writing for this site since I been losing that feel on making stories for my page and thinking of leaving once Po-Gi-Oh was finished, but I came up with the idea on what about if Starlight Glimmer won? So I wrote this to see how it would play out. I hope that this story goes well it is the only thing that is holding me to FIMfiction for the moment.
