Dear "Princess" Twilight Sparkle,
Congratulations. You're a princess now. Sure, you may be smiling on the outside, dressed in your pretty pony princess outfit. But I know that's not how you feel inside. What do you see in yourself? A happy, lucky new princess? Or a unicorn who was turned into an alicorn because of destiny? Because of luck?
I wonder about you every day. Yet, even now, I still can't answer those questions I can't stop turning over in my mind. You're pathetic. I can't believe the almighty Celestia saw this special "thing" in you. I see an alicorn standing in a corner, crying. I see that in everypony. But I see it in you the most. You want everypony to have friends, right? Well, let me tell you... That's just as impossible as being happy all the time.
Happiness... It's a feeling that everypony likes and loves. Everypony wishes that feeling would last forever. But the reason why it doesn't is because of friends. I know you think of them every day, wondering if they're okay or not. Because you know that they're not perfect. No pony is. That is why you think of them. They make mistakes. You make mistakes. I'm sure that more than half of your problems are caused by other ponies' mistakes. And you worry and worry... until you can't worry at all. Until choice is taken away from you.
I'm sure you're saying that isn't true. But I know you.... You're secretly saying to yourself that I'm right, in the dungeons of your childish mind. But I will admit one thing - You can never be alone. No item could make happiness last for a lifetime. That is why ponies make friends. So they can feel that happiness more often, it feels like they are living life in the oh so short time they have to live it. But in the end, they dig their own grave faster. Ponies will go to the point where they risk their lives for others, merely so they can keep that friendship and make it stronger. Which supposedly means more happiness. Now, if they fail and die, that is the end of their happiness for all eternity.
But happiness is not why I am writing this. Before I say why I'm truly writing this, let's talk about one more thing - death. That word, death... It sounds dark and scary. You know what it means, you know what it does, and you want it to never happen. Nopony ever does. But why don't you want it to happen? It's simple, really. Because it ends the friendship. It ends life. And it ends happiness. It's the antithesis of all that is you, Twilight Sparkle. But the main reason is, I suppose... that it is unknown what happens once you die. Where do you go? How does it feel to die? And why do you die? There are so many more questions that I could list, but such a smart little filly as yourself surely gets my point.
When I look at a grave, I don't think about the pony who died. I think about what could be going on in death. I will never know the true answer until it happens to me. But then I won't be able to tell you. How sad...
It's funny, though... Sometimes when I think about death. I think about those two. How just only two ponies could or will escape death. You know who I'm talking about. They lived more than any other normal pony can. They just sit there and let time pass. No matter how many years pass, they will just sit there and look down at the ponies who will die much sooner than them. Yet... They make mistakes just like all of us do. I don't get it... Why were they born special? But now... I don't care. Death also ends the pain. At least, that is what I believe.
Not too long ago, I was thinking about life. It's just as mysterious as death. But instead of dark and scary, it is safe and happy. Why do we think that? That is also a simple question to answer... Because it's another soul who will feel happiness. But only for a limited time; only before they feel pain.
I wonder what you think. Confused and scared after reading these words? Are you wondering what the next sentence will say? Ha! But let's not talk about that... Shall I continue? Of course, I will! You want me to, after all. Deep down. You don't want to admit it, no, but you're curious, aren't you? You can't tear your eyes away from the page, the precise, inked letters spiraling through your hooves on reams of pristine paper. Nothing less than perfection for you, my Princess.
Twilight Sparkle. What a name. It just... sparkles, doesn't it if you'll forgive my lack of words? It's so mysterious, yet it shines more than ever. I want to take that sparkle and let it shine forth no more. But I won't. No, no. Not for now. I'll just let that sparkle think, and think... Until it cannot think anymore. Then that's when I take the sparkle into my hooves, and crush it between them. And it, that shining exemplar, the light for thousands and thousands of ponies... It will see death for the first time. You've never really seen it, have you? All those marvelously nonlethal ways of destroying your enemies, except for one. Maybe, in the end, you'll sympathize with King Sombra as your light shatters.
I believe you get what I'm saying... I want to kill you, Twilight Sparkle. You don't deserve that title, one given to you by luck and a cosmic joke. You don't deserve anything, other than death. But I'll give you a few more days; to say goodbye to your happiness... friends... family. Hurry up, time is ticking. Oh, but I know you won't give in so easily. You'll fight alongside your friends. You'll fight for your happiness. You'll page through your books, ask your idols and teachers, beg for forgiveness from the incomprehensible gods themselves, carve new tracks for the stars, tear down the very heavens before you'll give up!
Even though in the end, you will lose. You will lose everything you love before you die. And deep inside, you want to know what happens when I finally take your life. Curiosity to the last, ex Scientia est Equus. But what am I saying? Actions speak louder than words, right? I should just kill you right away and you won't get a chance to say goodbye. But I don't want you to feel pain. I want you to feel death. That is all. Nothing more, nothing less.
One more thing before I meet you, Twilight... You're probably wondering who I am, and why I want you to die. You will get both of those answers once I meet you.. Until then, you're left with a mystery. Enjoy life while you can. Before you hit a dead end.
