Prologue: A long sleep
*Beep* *Beep* *Beep*
I wake up in my cold spaceship, because of an alarm, what is happening? did i hit an asteroid or what? Whatever it is, it can not be good, i try to open my eyes, but what i see is something that looks like a blurry sky with stars, i can also see my alarm, beeping with a red light everytime it does, i try to move but i am still a bit freezed, because of my spacial sleep, so i look down and see the space map showing me that i am close to the solar system of Basis-9, the planet that i deserve to destroy with all my soul.
"System, start" I speak up so the voice recognizer can hear me.
"Systems starting, welcome to the X-9 Spaceship envoriment, you will soon be unfreezed and be able to move" The computer says, i realize that the alarm hasn't stopped so i tell the computer to check what is going on.
"System, check ship status"
"Checking... Spaceship check complete. Shields: 68%. Temperature: 193K. Fuel: 3%. Energy: 41%" I notice the low fuel, i must land on a planet to fill up the tank before i get adrift.
"Analyze closest celestial bodies" I say in a tone that makes the computer respond slower
"... ... ... 8 celestial bodies found: 1 Yellow dwarf sun, 7 Planets, 5 solid planets and 2 gas giants" I can see that most of theese planest are inhabitable, one of them is extremely cold, next to it are 2 gas giants, then a planet with a toxic atmosphere and other one with a teary but not deadly atmosphere, but the next one is the one i will land in, its Basis-9. I cant believe what i see, it is covered in water! Only a few percents of the surface is titanium and steel, what happened to this planet?
"System, check the second planet of th-" I stop talking when i see a giant solar flare erupting from the sun, it will roast me out if i don't land quickly!
"New action. System, fly to the second planet of this solar system" I yell as i see the solar flare past the first planet, will i be fast enough to get to this planet before i get converted into a hamburger? the planets have their own magnetic field, so they are not affected, but the spaceship's shield isn't that strong, i see how the blue planet becomes even bigger as i get close to it, and so, the solar flare too. my spaceship suddenly slows down, that means we entered in the first layer of the planet's magnetic field, i see how the solar flare curves around the planet, and, it's coming here! i panic and see how the solar flare passes through my spaceship, at least it didn't shockwave the spaceship and i didn't burst into flames, but something is still not right...
"Warning, internal system failure" The spaceship's computer alerts me that something is wrong
"Check life status" I order to the machine, to see if something is wrong with me
"Total organic failure, unfreezing procces interrupted with abrupt genetic chromosome change" I feel my breath becoming heavier and my heart stops, the spaceship's internal healing system then starts, trying to regenerate my now melting body, i feel the needles and tubes trying to regenerate my body in an odd way, because they scan and follow the chromosome structure of the body they will regenerate. I see the clouds and a giantic ocean that covers the entire planet, as i get close i barely see a gray structure that looks like a highway complex or something like that. My vision becomes blurry and then black.
I wake up later, out of the spaceship that is now on fire, i can feel something strange about my body, what happened? did the regeneration system recovered my human body, or am i some type of freak?, i try to stand up but i just fall over my stomach and my arms, i can no longer feel my suit, nor my helmet, i crawl over the edge of what looks like a plataform and i see my suit and my helmet in the water, just floating there.
Something i didn't noticed was that my hands weren't there anymore, instead, there was some kind of arm that ended like a cylinder, when i turned back i saw something that looks like a feather... the plataform i am actually on is too high to see my own reflection, so i go down a staircase to a lower plataform, i think that is the place where they unload the ships here or something, i get close to the edge of the plataform, the fear of seeing some kind of strange mutation fills my veins, i take a look at the water just to discover something that will change my entire life forever...
I am a pony!?
I rush over to the crashed spaceship to see if i can get some information about what happened, i am in panic, i've never seen something like this before, a pony? what does that solar flare contained so i could become a pony? it isn't possible! but it's possible at the same time as i see myself.
Once i am close to the ship, i try to walk in 4 legs, but it is hard for me at the start, but i get used to it quickly, when my spaceship finally stops burning in a hell fire, i come close and try to talk, but my throat is dry, it might happened because of the body regeneration, it doesn't come with all the fluids if it is regenerating to save your life. I take out a water bottle from the supplies bag i had behind my seat, i drag it with my mouth outside of the spaceship, hoping nothing got burned, i see inside of the bag a medcal kit, a handgun that is not longer useful for me, and some water bottles, i get the water bottle out of the bag and i ask myself how the hell am i going to open it.
I try opening it for some rough 20 minutes, i tried opening it with my hooves but the cap didn't budge, then i tried with my teeth, but i just got myself dizzly spinning around the bottle, then i finally pushed the bottle against my body and used my mouth to open it, i try to push it upward but it almost fell off my hooves, so i had to pick it up with my teeth and drink it. After i fulfilled my thirst, i had to know what happened to my body, so i got closer and started the system.
"System, start" I say with a slightly high pitced tone, a beeping sound is played and the computer turns on
"Sy-y-y... System on-line-e" the speakers must be damaged for the fall
"Check life status" A beam goes out of the computer, scanning my body
"Check complete-ete, Temperature: 38°C, Heart rate: 50ppm, respiratory rate: Overall 13rpm" Theese vaules were totally different to the human ones, but well, i am no longer a human
"Check chromosome genes" I say as i glance at the burnt remains of my old body, wow, i was literally melting away!
"... ... 33 chromosome pairs found, equine type chromosome structure" That can explain what happened, but why? I can actually tell that i am some sort of pony, with wings, and that isn't good for my mission, i must tell somebody the instructions of what to do, there must be more of the X-9 Soldiers that were sent here, i guess there must be a colony too, or something.
I see another ship going down and i see it crash some meters away from where i am, maybe it is a soldier that can help me out and we could complete this mission! i see how the ship slowly opens, what i see makes me feel like i am not alone here... but also makes me feel like i will never be able to comlete my mission. The soldier comes closer to salute me and say something, why isn't he shocked of the way he looks?
"Commander, so good to see you again"
