Chapters A Rainbow and the Applegirl

Okay, first off all, I want to say that i'm sorry for that bad grammar and spelling mistakes I probably made (I cant see them, but I know they are there... O.o)
A Rainbow and the Applegirl
In the shadow of an apple tree at Sweet Apple Acrus there was laying a pony. But not some pony. It was the hard working earth pony Applejack. Well at that particular moment she wasn’t such hard working, but normally she was. Anyway. There was Applejack, dozin under an apple tree. She looked up to the sky, just in the moment to see a rainbow maned pegasi flying by, turning around and racing with neckbreaking speed towards her. It was her best friend Rainbow Dash. She landed nearby and fold her wings together.
„Hey Applejack! How are you doing? I have seen you from up there, snoozing and thought I should stop by to say hello.“ The cyan pegasi said with her typicall, cocky voice.
Applejack sat up a bit, and with one hoove she pulled up her stetson to the right position ontop of her head. She looked over to Rainbow Dash and replyed.
„Well hi there Rainbow Dash! Ahm just doin fine. Ah have finished all my chores for today and got some spare time now. Ya wanna hang out with me for a bit?“
Applejack looked at her friend, and her look got cought in the eyes of her's. These beautiful pink eyes...
She has had a crush on Rainbow Dash for a while now, and got often carryed away while looking at her. Maybe it was even more then a crush. She had thought about that quite often, since both of them where mares. But, in the end, she always got to the conclusion she had not only a heavy crush on her. More than, that she had fallen for the cyan pegasi.
But she was sure Rainbow would not understand on how she felt. She was convinced, if Rainbow would ever find out about how she felt, she would not want to be her friend anymore. So Applejack just tryed to hide her feelings as best as she could.
She shook her head and fell back to reality just in time to hear Rainbow’s answer.
Both of them, the cyan pegasi and the orange earth pony got into sprint start position.
„Start on three! One... Two...Three!“ the Rainbow maned pegasi called out, and both of them started sprinting towards the hill. Both of them running as fast as they can. Both, heavily breathing, and moving their legs over the ground as fast as possible. But, as always, both of them arrived the hill at exactly the same time.
Still, Rainbow Dash was convinced that she had won the race. She jumped up in the air, striking a winners pose.
Applejack broke out in laughter about Rainbow's self confidence that she had won the race, but she didn’t say anything. Instead, she just whatched the pegasi carefully, trying to pick up all the details of her: Her beautifull rainbowed mane, the movement of her wings flapping up and down, the smooth motion of her muscles when she landed, the look on her eyes when she looked at Applejack...
„Uhm... Applejack? Are you alright?“
Applejack froze. „Shit! She cought mah staring at her! What should ah do?“
„Ah-Ahm f-fi-fine yeah. Totally fine. Nothing happened. Yah won the race. Eyeup! That’s totally it.“
Nervously her eyes darted from one side to another. Rainbow just burst out in laughter.
Applejack blushed and pulled her stetson down, so that her face got covered by it. She turned around, away from the pegasi, which was cringing on the ground, holding her belly from laughter.
"How do ah explain her why ah stared at her? What if she gets curious about i-"
„Soooo Applejack. Why in celestias name were you staring at me like this? I mean I know I am awesome, cool and just amazing, but i've never seen you staring at me with that... Expression on your face. So, what's up AJ?“
Applejack just cringed, and a chill ran down her spine. She couldn't answer that! She just couldn't...
"Damnit... Ah need to tell her..." Applejack thought. "Ah can’t lie to her anyway... Ahm not the element of honesty for nothin... Maybe... It will turn out just fine in the end? Ah mean, after all... She is the Element of Loyality."
And after that, Applejack turned her head towards the dawning sun, which was already touching the horizon, ready to settle down and letting the moon take over her position at the darkening sky. That simple scenery of ponyville, the orchard and the castle of canterlot in her view, she found the courage to do what had to be done. She walked next to the only apple tree on this hill, Rainbowdash’s curious look resting on her.
„So... AJ... What is it? You can tell me everything, you know? You are my best friend. I would never tell anypony.“ Rainbow Dash said. Curious, but serious. She felt that whatever bothered Applejack, wasn’t easy to say for her to talk about.
Applejack sighted and turned her face to Rainbow. She felt the time had come to reveal her most inner feelings towards her most amazing friend. „Rainbow.... Can yah come over here and sit down next to mah?“ She asked calmly, but with a light tension in her voice, just like she needet alot of effort and strenght to talk.
„Sure?“ Rainbow asked. Now she started to worry.
Was something wrong with her? Was that why Applejack was staring at her with that odd expression on her face? She moved next to her friend, sat down, and looked at her, waiting for her to explain.
Applejack on her side, looked to the ground and then started talking.
„Well it's kinda hart to explain, but since the Iron Horse competition we did against each other... Ah kinda felt different. Mah head was so lightwighted everytime when ya were around, and ah felt so much better when yah were there. Ah started thinking about yah in a strange way and...“
Applejack sighted. „Yah became more than just a friend to mah...“
She looked at Rainbow Dash, and found her eyes widely open. But not out of shock, but in surprise. Looking her in the eyes she carryed on with what she really wanted to say.
“Rainbow, ah love yah.“
Rainbow Dash couldn’t do anything but to just stare at Applejack. And
"Oh.My. Gosh. Ohmygosh! OHMYGOSH!“ was all that Rainbowdash could think off at that moment.
„Applejack just told me that she LOVED me!"
Applejack was still looking at her friend, when she realized that Rainbow Dash was crying, and she thought that her friend was shocked and hated her now. She quickly turned around to run away.
She took one step, and then felt an hoof on her shoulder, holding her back from running away. As she turned around she saw that Rainbow Dash was smiling at her.
„You... You say’d you love me...“ Rainbow asked with a whispering voice. “Is that... True?“ She looked at Applejack and waited for her to answer.
„Yeah...“ Applejack said confused and overwhelmed by the situation. she didn't expected it to go that way. There was only a moment of silence.
Then, Rainbow Dash whispered. „Well. I... Love you... Too.“
Only one single tear dropped down from her eye. Slowly, rolling over her cheek towards her chin, then to the end of it and finally dropping to the ground. It wasnt a tear of pain, but a tear of joy.
Applejack just stood there like she got hit by a giant apple tree. She was just about to process what Rainbow had just said, when the pegasi rushed forward, pressing her lips on Applejacks.
Rainbow didn’t thought about what she was doing, and at the first moment, it seemed like Applejack would not return the kiss. Then the orange pony also leaned into it. The cyan pony put one hoove around her friends neck, pulling her deeper into the kiss.
They stand like that for a few seconds, feeling the other, and when they finally pulled back, they looked each other into their eyes.
„Applejack...“ Rainbow Dash said „I don't know what hit me! Please, don’t be mad at me.“
The orange mare looked at her with tears in her eyes. “Mad?“ She asked. „Why should ah be mad at yah sugarcube? Ma greatest wish just came true! Ah was afraid yah would hate me for being in love with yah!“ She reached for her friends hoof. „But yah didn’t.“ She moved closer to Rainbow Dash, a smile on her face.
The cyan pony sniffed and then replyed. "AJ... Since our adventure in Appleloosa, I began looking at you in a different way. It Just happened. I don’t know how, or why, but I felt like I needed u by my side. I even came here more often just to be around you. But i've never had the courage it takes to tell you how I feel“
Applejack was still nervous. „So,“ She said to Rainbow Dash, her voice shaking. „Will yah become mah special somepony?“
Rainbow did not answer. She just looked at her, and then gave her a passionated kiss on the lips. Both of them fell over and landed right in the soft, green grass. It was a kiss, filled with love. Applejack put a hoove on the back of Rainbows neck. Still kissing, they embraced in a close and tight hug. Everything around them was forgotten. Only the one in their hoove counted to them at this one, special moment.
The sun had vanished over the last few hours and was now replaced by the big shiny ball of the moon which had already risen half the way up to his cenit. The silver light was shining all over Ponyville, and no cloud could be seen on the sky. The weather ponies had done a good job today.
„Can you see the stars, AJ?“ Rainbow Dash asked her (now) marefriend, while looking up to the crystal clear sky.
„They shine just as bright as your eyes.“ Rainbow continued smiling.
She looked over to Applejack, just to find the eyes she had just talked about looking down to her.
She was happy. The day couldn’t have been a better one. She had woken up, got to work just in time, moved a few clouds from A to B, took a nap, moved more clouds, finished work early and then she had found her friend, sleeping under an apple tree. Then it came even better. Her friend had convinced her love to Rainbow Dash. She had never been happy before, as she had already loved her friend for a whil. But Rainbow had choosed to pretend that wasn't the fact.
„Applejack?“ She asked while her eyes where closed. „Yes sugarcube?“ The response came from her orange pillow.
Rainbow looked up to her marefriends face. „Why me?“
Applejack lifted her head up from the ground and looked at Rainbow.
„Cuz yah cute. Ya’ve been mah best friend since childhood, and ah always thought that ya were cute, adorable and loyal. Yah have always been there for me when ah needet support. Ah have always liked that about yah, and then ah realized that ah’ve liked yah more then just in the way of a friend.“
She gave Rainbow a snuggle and ruffled her mane with one hoofe. „Ah really like yah, Dashie.“ She added to what she said before.
Rainbow Dash snitched one ear upon hearing the nickname.
„I told you not to call me by that nickname. It’s weird...“
Applejack chuckled and pulled the rainbow maned pegasi closer to her chest.
Rainbow put on a smirk to her face. she looked at the orange pony and sighted like she gave in.
„Oh no way in hell yah going to call mahself Jacky, get yah head out of the clouds.“
Rainbow started to chuckle. „So, what are we saying to our friends?“ She asked.
Applejack sat up and leaned against the apple tree, much to her lovers dissapointment. „Well“ Applejack thought about it. „Maybe we should just tell ehm?“ She suggested, shrugging her shoulders slighty.
„WHAT?!“ Rainbow's head shot up in the air. „We can’t tell them! What if they don’t understand about us?!“ The cyan pegasus said, with only a pitch of panic in her voice.
Applejack looked at her with a surprised expression. „Ah think they would understand hun. It’s not unusual for to mares ta be in love, so why should they be disgusted by it?“ She asked.
Rainbow thought about it for a moment, then she sighted. „AJ... I love you. I really do. And I really don’t want to risk anything. We should just not tell anyone, and keep it a secret for ourselfs.“
„Okay sugarcube, if ya think that’s what we should do, we do that.“ Applejack while leaning towards her marefriend. She kissed Rainbow Dash on the mouth and after the kiss, she got up and said: „We should probably go home for now, it’s already late and we need some rest.“
Rainbow Dash murred about that one, and cursed herself for taking the early shift tomorrow morning. „Yeah. You are right.“ She finally claimed. „I will walk you home, and then go to my house to get some rest for myself.“
Together, the two ponys walked to Applejack’s, and when they arrived there, they kissed each other goodbye.
„Goodnight sugarcube, get home safe.“ Applejack whispered to her love. She gave her a chinrub. Then she turned around, opening the door and getting inside her house. She looked back at Rainbow Dash for one last time, then she closed the door, smiling about the look on Rainbowdash’s face.
It was the „You-are-just-to-damn-beautiful“ look, only a person in love could do correctly.
When the door shut, Rainbow waited a moment, then she turned around and took off for home.
The next morning:
It was early in the morning when Rainbow Dash’s alarm started to ring. The sun hasn’t even made it over the horizon.
Rainbow rolled herself from the bed, and literally crawled to her alerm clock, she had wisely positioned about three meters away, so that she had to get out of bed to turn it off.
She cursed herself for this „great“ idea, but at least she was awake now. She turned off the alarm and remained on the floor for another moment, her eyes shut, recapturing what had happened yestarday evening.
She got together with Applejack, the mare she always had layed her eyes on. Everything turned out just fine for the two of them. She shook her head, shooing away the thoughts about the evening.
She lifted herself off the ground and walked through her bedroom into the bathroom. When she looked into the mirror, a cyan pegasi looked back at, her rainbowish mane standing up in all directions, and her eyes half closed.
Rainbow yawned loud and got herself under the water. She showered for a few minutes, or maybe more then just a few, before stepping out of the shower. She dryed herself with a nearby towel and then tossed it in the laundry box.
When she hoovered through the floor in order to get into her kitchen, she heard a knock on the front door.
She wondered who it might be, and when she got there to open it, she saw Derpy Hooves hoovering infront of her, holding a letter in her mouth.
„Hello Derpy“ Rainbow Dash said surprised to her opposite.
Derpy already wanted to speak up, but then remembered the letter in her mouth. She took it out of it and smiled friendly at Rainbow.
„Hey Rainbow Dash, how are you?“ She asked, and then added to it: „Im great thanks for asking.“
Rainbow had to chuckle. Derpy always had been a bit weird, but Rainbow liked that bout her. She was a good pony, always honest, and relyable.
„Derpy, I havn’t even had the chance to ask you how you are. But it’s nice that you are good. And yeah I am great too, why are you here at that early hour?„
Derpy just looked at Rainbow for a few seconds, then she suddenly realized that she was asked something.
„Oh yeah I nearly forgot. I got this letter for you yesterday. The post pony delivered it to my house by mistake I guess... I was just on the way to work when I saw that the lights in your house were on, I decided to bring it over quickly.“ She handed the letter to Rainbow, who took it off from Derpy. She hold it in her hooves, and looked at it. The light in the doorframe was to bad to deshivre who had send it to her.
„Thank you Derpy. Hey, we talk later, okay? I have to get going.“ She said, looking behind her into the floor, were a clock showed 4:37. She had to be at work at 5:00.
„Oh yeah. Sure Rainbow. I wish you a great day.“ And so Derpy took off, and flew away.
Rainbow Dash closed the door went into the kitchen to take a quick breakfist. Entering the dining room she tossed the letter onto the table, in order to read it later.
She had a bowl of cereals for breakfist, and when she fnished it, the clock already showed 4:53. If she didn’t hurry now, Rainbow would come too late for work. And today she wanted to finish work as early as possible, so she could meet her marefriend at the orchard right afterwards.
She threw the dirty bowl into the sink and left her home, leaving a rainbow trail behind her.
Applejack opened her eyes. When she looked at the clock on the shelf next to her bed, she could just barely read the time. It showed 5:30am.
She raised her head from the pillow and grumped a little when getting the rest of her body out of her nice, fluffy sleeping hole.
Her room was still dark, no wonder as the curtains were still shut. She walked over the wooden floor and pulled them open.
A light shine fell into the room, as the sun still hasn’t quite risen up over the mountains which could be seen at the horizon, far behind the orchard.
Applejack let out a loud yawn.
She was an early pony, not like Rainbow Dash who could sleep until late into the day. Applejack had to chuckle by thinking about that. She thought about the past evening, and got lost for a moment when she remembered how she kissed Rainbow, and how much she enjoyed the taste of her.
„I honestly never thought it would turn out that way... Ah mean, ah wanted it to be that way a long time, but I really never considered it to become true.“ She mumbled to herself while standing at her window, letting her eyes run over the orchard.
She turned around and left her room through the door, leading directly to the hallway. The door opposite to her room was a spare room in which visitors could stay if the came over for a visit.
Looking down the hallway to the left, Applejack could see the siluetts of too other doors, the one on the right side leading to Big Macintosh’s room, and the one on her side of the floor wall lead straight into Applebloom’s room.
Quietly, she walked down the floor, passing Granny Smith’s room and turning left to sneak down the stair’s.
„Watch out for that creeky old pla-“ She thought, but it was to late.
-EEEEEEK-
Applejack froze in place immedeatly. She had stepped right on the creeky plank, and of corse it had to make the most creeking sound ever heard by a pony.
The orange mare waited, like half a minute, then she continued walking downstairs as no sound could be heard from the other ponys rooms.
When she arrived in the kitchen, she choosed a simple breakfist. Just some plain old oak flakes with apples chopped in them.
Applejack walked to the fridge to grab the milk, when she heard a door being opened in the upper house. Applejack heard hoovesteps walking down the stairs.
„Good mornin’ Applebloom. Yah up already?“
„yeah“ – YAWN – „that creeky old plank got mah out mah bed early“ Applebloom sayd and walked slowly to the cubbord, checking on the items inside it. She choosed her –schocolate ceremony – an mix of oat flakes and chocolate, and poured it into a semi sized bowl.
Applejack passed her the milk and headed over to the kitchen table. Just slowly after, Applebloom followed her, taking a seat just to the opposite of her.
„So, What are yah plans for today?“ AJ asked her little sister, while stuffing a spoonfull of oat into her mouth.
„Ah want to spend the day with mah friends. We will try to get our cuty marks in engineering today. Scootaloos scooter is broken, so we, the Cuty Mark Crusaders, will just fix it.“ Applebloom sayd in a cheering voice.
Applejack had to chuckle uponto that entusiasm that came from her little sister.
„Ah see you got stuff planned for today. Well Ah have to get going now.“ She said, while putting the dirty bowl into the sink.
„Oh alright“ Applebloom answered. „Have a great day out there.“
„Ah will.“ Applejack said, leaving the house through the back door.
After hours of applebucking, Applejack’s flanks were a bit sour, and her fur was covered in sweat. She had worked since 6:15 am. Now it must be nearly 3:00 pm, and AJ had finally finished her chores. She let out a huge sight of relive.
Not that she didn’t enjoy working at the orchard. But it was hard work, and it could be really exhausting.
She walked towards the barn to unload the baskets she had need for work, when something tackled into her side and pinned her to the ground.
She tryed to free herself, but then she saw a streak of rainbow couloured mane in the corner of her eye. Applejack freed herself, just to reach back over her shoulder to grab Rainbow Dash. She turned around and tackled the blue pegasi to the ground, now facing her.
The muzzles of the two mares where just inches away. Applejack leaned forward to kiss the cyan, rainbow maned pony. The kiss, first just a casual one, turned more passionated as Applejack loosened her grip around Rainbos’s shoulder. Her hoove slid over her marefriends side, and then onto her back. She held on tightly.
When they broke the kiss, both of them just stayed in there position panting, staring into each others eyes. Slowly, a grin started to form on Rainbow Dash’s face.
„Hello Applejack.“ She sighted into her lover’s ear, and gave her a muzzle.
„Hello Rainbow“ Applejack whispered back to the pegasi underneath her.
She moved aside so that Rainbow Dash could get onto her hooves, and when she did so, she stepped aside Applejack, their flanks touching.
„You know AJ, I had to think about you all day. I nearly popped a snowcloud over Twighlight“ Rainbow said with a smirk on her face.
„HAHAHA, ah wouldv’e paid to see that. But yeah, yah were on mah mind too. Ah literally couldn’t really focus on anything else.“
Applejack said, then she turned her head and gave Rainbow a kiss on the cheek.
„Hey AJ, how about we sit in the upper barn for a while? I kind of want you close to me, and I certainly don’t want anypony to interrupt us.“ The cyan pegasus said as a response.
Applejack just nodded. She wanted her marefriend close too.
They walked the few meter to the barn together and snug inside it. Applejack used a ladder leaning against a wall to get up to the upper barn, while Rainbow Dash hoovered up next to her.
There was an opening in the wall. It was about a meter wide, and positioned just slightly above the floor, so that goods, such as haystacks, could be lifted through it without any troubles.
Applejack and Rainbow Dash sunk into the hay infront of the opening, so that they had a good view over Sweet Apple Acrus. Rainbow rested her head on Applejack’s chest.
„AJ?“ Rainbow asked from the spot at her marefriends chest.
The responce came in a whispering voice.
„Yes Rainbow?“
„I love you. I really do. You are like, the greatest thing that ever happened to me. And I know it sound’s weird as we just became a couple, but I can't imagine being without you anymore.“ Said Rainbow Dash, looking up to Applejack without letting her head loose the contact to her marefriend’s chest.
„D’awww Rainbow, you are so adorable. But ah must say, ah honestly feel the same way about it. Yah mean so much to me.“ Applejack said, and kissed her on the forehead.
The cyan pegasus chuckled, then she snuggled deeper into the soft fur of Applejack, taking a deep breath. She closed her eyes firmly. A hoove began to stroke her head, and she felt as comftable as she never felt before.
A single pair of eyes, now hidden in an apple tree, had watched the entire scene from the beginning of Rainbow Dash's arrival with a bright grin. The pony climbed carefully out of the apple tree, and started walking towards Ponyville, humming a rythm to itself.
