Zecora was having a good day.
with no problems in the forest to deal with, and she had peace for what seemed like the first time in months Zecora finally had some time to think. she need to do something quickly thinking to much is what landed her here in the first place, and so certainly didn't want to think how much worse it could get living in a forest that ate the last capital of Equestria and sent the sun punter running.
so off she went to ponyvile for something, anything! to stop her from thinking.
the walk was peaceful. a shame really, even a attack of some kind was better than thinking anything at all to keep her focused on the here and now, better that than let her mind wander to wherever it went, she was never quiet sure where it went or what it did, as her brain had toddled off and stopped helping with the memories as such leave large holes when it went awol or up a wall.
and in one of those gapes in time is how she got here in the Everfree, that she was now leaving. ponyvile's an interest place always a disaster to patch up or a demon to fight. kind of day to day stuff to them, they would fight all kinds of monsters and other "evils" daily,funny to think she used to one of many the things this whole town stood against, and one of the few they ran and hid from,(she was flattered really and impressed they pegged her so well.) still she needed to focus on finding something to focus on.
thus onward she marched towards something she wasn't too sure where she was going or where she was in town, the damn place is a maze the ponies of ponyville change the layout every time they rebuild it. so basically changes daily and if your not there for a week or two then its completely different, the map pony makes more here than if he open up a chain store in Baltimare trottingham and manehattan!
Zecora proceeded further into town only to see a mare and a stallion running up to different ponies and with a shake of a head or verbal communication darted away to the next pony, ignoring that quite pink pony she met a little bit ago, and then cursed for shits and giggles blamed it on a flower, cured the curse and made it out to look like she was the hero.
this was the third time she had done that here and it worked every time. now if she could keep all that necromancy under wraps this time maybe she wont be boned, its hard to keep those things underground they keep raising up in conversation, "who dug up this grave?" "whats all that noise coming from you attic?" "that smell? don't worry its nothing to hex about."
so up to her did the mare and stallion walk and asked her the question. a question so vile many would have trouble holding back vomit. so sick and twisted that even the denizens of tartarus give pause at hearing it.
"can you take care of our foals?"
they asked seeming to be well practiced at this point and obviously used to failure as they had started to move all ready before you could answer.
"i'm sure we can work out a fair price, 200 bits 100 each going once going twice!"
"wait what?! we are ask you to foalsit them until we come back, not buy them!" Mr cake practically yelled into my face
"then you should of made that clear, else you end up missing someone very dear." Zecora retorted, thinking up more rhymes to keep her mind focused.
"but if only watching you foals is what you desire, then you must give me what i require." Zercora finished waiting for the obvious question to be asked.
"what do you want? no pony will look after them and we are desperate." Mrs cake asks.
Zecora smiles and begins to string together a sentence in her head, but before she can say the rhyming rhythm melody that would make rock's weep and ponies vomit from joy, a annoying voice piped up that drilled right into her ears, it seem somewhat familiar her conscience? nah he'd give up after she gave him the male gender just so she could make him have a small nob and make fun of him for it, he pack up shop and said he'd try his luck elsewhere. so what was this voice?
"i can look after them Mr and Mrs cake! i'm real good at keeping them happy! a-and playing games! i'm good at that! i can do it to i have spare time on this hoof and this hoof this one too! back lefty miiiiiiiiiight be a little busy but it'll be fine i promise!" that annoying belonged
to that pink pony i cursed, weird i thought i ripped out her spine to make into tofu.
no matter the cakes as pink pony called them seem to ignoring her, for some reason? oh right they are waiting for my response how rude of me to keep them waiting.
"i am sorry for taking so long to respond, what i want is a special kind of bond." the cakes tilt their heads, pink pony's ear's perk and looks at me questioningly an almost shocked look came upon her face.
"the connection i need, impossible to collect with greed." Mrs cake looking a bit steamed at this point interjects.
"just tell us what you want! we don't have all day we need to go soon!"trotting a on the stop a bit she looks around to find wherever the clock tower is today.
"very well very well, what i need to cast a spell,a soul of two but one and one but two is what i want, it is very different from a regular haunt."
Mrs cakes looking even more annoyed, and Mr cakes starting to drown in confusion, pink pony is starting at the ground i look to see pink pony had scratched half of what i said down, looks like if i don't straight up tell the cakes pink pony will figure it out first. cant have that can i?
"what i want is your foals souls, they will make excellent chicken casseroles."i grin as they look at me with confusion and mild disgust Mr cake talked first
"y-you want to use our twin's souls to make chicken casseroles in exchange for you foalsitting them?" i smiled and nodded i opened my mouth to confirm though my usual verbal speech patterns, but yet again interrupted by pink pony.
"see! i knew you were an evil witch but did anypony believe me noOooOOo! now everpony going to lose their souls and be unhappy that they lost their souls, i-i-i g-got to go apparently back lefty has more work to do then she let on Bye" and thus was gone pink pony as she left Mrs cake shoved the foals of the two one one two souls onto my back.
"okay, whatever, fine eat their souls we should've left an hour ago, come on carrot we need to go." Mr looked at me then at his wife.
"are you sure we can't just leave them with pink pony? i know she a little... bouncy, but she cant do worse than eating pumpkin cake and pound cakes souls!" Mrs cake snorted
"i wouldn't bet on that,at least i know what Zecora going to do, nothing is worse than not knowing whats happening to my foals, pick the devil you know and all that, goodbye Zecora keep them safe at least until we get back." Mrs cake said as she nearly had to dragged her stallion behind her.
and thus ended Zecora's good day in ponyvile.
