Everypony has wondered what created ponies. But when unicorns, Twilight Sparkle and Faint Heart discover an ancient carving which seems to be a space map, Them and their friends head off the stars in the space ship, Ponetheus. But what they discovered might kill them all.
(This is a Prometheus crossover and will contain spoilers for the movie which came out only 2 days before the prologue was written)

Ponetheus

Chapter 1

Location: Space Year: 2092
After seeking Celestia in 2089, Twilight and Faint gathered their friends and borrowed the 'Ponetheus' from the unicorn Trixie who funded all the costs. They have now been in stasis for 2 years and are finally reaching their target. E.V.A.D was a magical golem built by Celestia to monitor everyone and stand guard during the long travel. E.V.A.D walked to the stasis chambers studying its contents. He was to monitor them so he was checking their memories. After walking to the unicorn Twilight Sparkle he opened a memory from a young Twi.

Twilight and her father watched as a slumbering mare was carried away by 4 ponies.
"Where is she going, daddy?" She asked innocently.
"Different people call it different things. Some call it heaven, some call it paradise" He said while reading a spell book.
"Is that where mommy went?" She simply asks him.
Her mother had passed away a while ago. Her and dad were now over it but she still missed her. Now it was only her, Shining Armour, and her dad.
He thought about the question a bit. Then answered "Yes"
She then asked him "What do you believe?"
He smiles. "I believe in Celestia" he points his hoof to a necklace with a sun on it.

E.V.A.D continued with his daily routines. He had been mixing many ancient languages to try and speak the language of whatever race they were going to have to talk to. Speakers blared out while we was wandering around "Approaching destination, Stasis: off" E.V.A.D went to check on the passengers and found Trixie already out and stretching.

Twilights awakening hadn't been as pleasant as Trixie's. The unicorn had been vomiting in a bucket since she woke up.
She looked around to see everyone else was coming around. They were here! suddenly her uneasiness turned into excitement and she pulled the half-awake Faint Heart out of his stasis pod and dragged him to the nearest window.
"Woah!" he exclaimed
They were finally here and it looked beautiful. They were near a large blue planet with rings and a couple of moons. No doubt, in the livable zone. Outside their pony planet, things worked differently. Here the moons orbited around the planets, which in turn orbited around their star. Their gazing was interrupted by the speakers "All crew please report to mission briefing room"
The unicorns looked at each other for a moment and then twilight said "We should get going"
Faint nodded and they both galloped to the briefing room.

The rest of the crew had been drinking, eating, or having fun. Rainbow Dash and Pinkie were eating some cupcakes and drinking some cider. Not the best mix. Spike on the other hand was decorating a tree for Hearts Warming Eve day. Trixie walked up to him when he was decorating and stared. "what the buck is that?"
"It's Hearts Warming Eve day!" Spike shouted, frowning at the mare.
"Mission briefing is about to start... 'captain' " She hated saying that but it made Spike smile. He was captain of the ship.
"I suggest hurrying up and going down" She glared at him.
"Well I need to eat first!" Spike protested.
Applejack saw two stallions she hadn't introduced herself to yet. She sat down on the table across from the table.
"Howdy ah'm Applejack! What's yer name?" She extended her hoof to one of them who was drinking. But then he glared at her and she pulled it back. He put down his drink "No offense, but I've been asleep 2 years. Im not here to make any friends, i just want some bits. You got that?"
"Well alright then" Applejack Sighed

Chapter 2

After entering the briefing room, all the ponies sat down and chatted. "Good Morning" Trixie said, as soon as the chatter stopped. "For all of you that I invited personally... it's nice to see you again. For the rest of you, I am the 'Great and Powerful Trixie'! It is my job to make sure you do yours" She sneered at some ponies, including Twilight. "Ok then. Princess Celestia told me to show you this." she stepped to the side and a holographic screen appeared, turning into a 3D projection of Celestia.
"Hello mares and gentlecolts! I am Princess Celestia, I am your employer. I am recording this summer, 2091. If you'r watching it, you've reached your destination. Theres a stallion sitting next to you named E.V.A.D. He is a golem i made with magic to watch you on your way, since he will never grow old, and he will never die. Although, he is not able to appreciate these remarkable gifts because it would require the one thing E.V.A.D. will never have. A soul. I have spent my entire Immortal lifetime wondering where do we come from? What is our purpose? What happens when we die? And now finally have two ponies who tell me they are on the verge of answering these questions. Twilight Sparkle and Faint Heart. If you would please stand. As far as your concerned, these two are in charge. The titan, Ponetheus, wanted to give ponykind equal footing with the gods. For that, He was cast from Ponympus. Well my friends the time has finally come, for his return." She waved for Twilight and Faint to stand next to her. "It's all yours now" Celestia finished. Faint had been playing with a cube most of the time. "Okay, wow" He chuckled. "Okay! Let me show you guys why we are here!" He put the cube down on the floor and hit some buttons. A holograph of multiple ancient rock carvings. "These are images." Faint began "Of archaeological dates from all over Equestria." He pointed to the one on left and started to the right. "This ones Equingyption, Mareain, Coltarian, Babyponion, and Thats Mesipifillian" He then pointed to the new one "Now this one here is our newest one, a thirty-five thousand year old carving from the Drackenridge Mountains. These are... ancient civilizations, that were separated by centuries. They shared no contact with one another and yet..." He smashed all the holographic photos together. "This same pictogram, showing ponies worshipping giant beams pointing to the stars, which were discovered on every last one of them. The only match in space, was so far away from Equestria, that theres no way these ancient ponies could've possibly known about them. But it just so happens, That that system has a sun, very different from ares in the way it works, but still has the same effects, and based on our long-range scans, There seems to be a planet. Just one planet with a moon possible of sustaining life... and we arrived there this morning." Rainbow Dash seeming slightly irritated. "So your saying we are here because of a map, you two eggheads found in a cave. Is that right?"
"Ya" Faint responded
"No" Twilight said "Not a map. An invitation."
"From who?" Rainbow asked.
Twilight happily responded "We call them engineers"
"Engineers huh? Would you mind telling us what these engineers engineered?"
"They engineered us"
"Bullshit" Rainbow said face-hoofing. Applejack laughed. Twilight and Faint looked slightly irritated themselves. Faint was the one to respond "Alright well. Do you have anything to back that up?"
Rainbow Dash didn't respond. Instead Applejack asked "How do you know?"
"I dont" Twilight said plainly "But its what I chose to believe"

The ship was now very close to its destination. The star shined on the moon they were going to land on.
Twilight and Faint were walking to their rooms when E.V.A.D came up to them
"Twilight and Faint. Trixie would like to speak to you before the adventure begins." He opened the door to Trixie's room and motioned for them to follow him inside. "Wow nice place." Faint commented. "It's actually a separate module, with its own self-contained life support. Air, food, Anything Trixie would need to survive a hostile environment. "Ok so she lives on a life boat" Faint remarked. "Yes, I do" Trixie said from behind them. Twilight noticed a man-sized capsule with a touch screen. "Hey Faint look it's a life pod! they only made a dozen of these." She touched a random button to see what would happen.
"Miss Sparkle." Trixie said "Please don't touch that. Its very expensive" Twilight walked back next to Faint. "I think there might be some confusion about our relationship" she started. "Celestia found you impressive enough to fund this mission, but im fairly certain your 'engineers' are nothing but scribblings of savages living in dirty caves. But let's say im wrong, and you do find these beings down there. You wont engage them, you will not talk to them, you will do nothing but report back to me" Faint chuckles "Excuse me, is there an agenda your not telling us about?" Trixie continued "I paid a trillion bits to get you here. If you'd raised it yourself, we'd happily be chasing your 'agenda'. But you didn't. And that makes you an employee." Faint laughed and Twilight looked confused. "If we can't make contact, why did you even bring us here?" she asked
"Celestia wanted the elements of harmony to be present during this mission. That's all."

"Alright Mr. Redtrot, Mr Cyan. Lets take it down." Spike said to the pilots.
"Yes captain" One of them replied. Twilight walked to Spike and asked "How you doing?" "Great!" He said.
Spike announced through the speakers "All personell this is your captain! Brace for entry!"
"What is the atmosphere?" He asked one of the pilots. "Atmosphere is 71% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, traces of argon gas"
"Just like home" Faint smiled "Only if your breathing through an exhaust pipe" Rarity said. "co2 is over 3%! 3 minutes without a suit. your dead"
Once they got underneath the cloud layer they could see the scenery. mostly mountains. but...
"There!" Twilight yelled pointing to some straight paths. "Planets aren't formed with perfect lines!"
They went around a mountain and saw a massive dome.
"There!" Twilight shouted. "Take us in! There!"
"Alright" Spike said. The turbines shifted into landed position it it pulled the ship slowly downward near the dome.
Dust flew around the propellers as they landed.
"Ponetheus has landed!"

The ship had landed a few miles from the dome. Faint already wanted to go there. "Captain. would you please tell the surveyed team to suit up and meet us in the airlock"
"Only 6 hours left of daylight. Why don't you go in the morning?." Spike asked.
"Nonononono. We just found this, so i wanna explore." He was walking out of the room when he pointed at E.V.A.D "You, golem, your coming with us"
"I'd be delighted"

The team of ponies went to the airlock and got on their space suits. Twilight noticed Applejack carrying a flamethrower. "Whats that for" she asked. "Security" Applejack responded "My job is to make sure everypony is nice and safe"
"This is a scientific expedition" Twilight said "No weapons"
"Alright then. Good luck"
"E.V.A.D why are you wearing a suit?" Faint looked at E.V.A.D who said "I beg your pardon?"
"You dont breath so... why where a suit?
"I was designed like this, cause you ponies are more comfortable interacting with your own kind. If I didn't wear the suit... it would defeat the purpose"
"Alright" Faint laughed.
After all getting suited up, the ponies got into the vehicles at the airlock doors. Soon they were driving.
Faint stood up and walked to Twilight "Hey, this is just one small step for ponykind!" Faint said jokingly to Twilight.
"Seriously?" she responded
He laughed and went back to his seat. They were getting close to the massive dome now. "Hey Rainbow Dash can you tell me whether it's natural or pony-made?"
"I can't tell you if it's natural but I can tell you that it's hollow"
All the ponies stared out the window at the massive dome as the vehicle came to a stop. The doors slowly opened and Twilight was the first off, all the others behind her. She stared at it in amazement "Ponetheus? are you seeing this?" she asked
"Affirmative" Spike said on the ship through his communicator. "We see you"
"Theres an entrance!" Twilight exclaimed while entering a rectangle shaped doorway. Upon entering there was a small room. At the end there was another, smaller doorway. "After you" Faint said to Twilight. She crawled under "Ponetheus, we are going in" She confirmed "Copy that" Spike said. They all entered, with Rainbow Dash being the last. Upon entering their was a tunnel. Rainbow took two metallic spheres from her pack. "What are those?" Applejack asked.
"These..." He said throwing them into the air. "are my P.U.P's" The two spheres went into the air and flew around the place mapping everything and feeding it to Ponetheus. Rainbow did the same with two others incase the tunnels broke down further. "Ponetheus" Rainbow said smiling "We are now mapping" Back at the ship Spike said "Copy that" and went to a table where a holographic projection of the dome was being created. "Well I'll be damned" he said.
"Rainbow Dash, you got a read?"
"Yah P.U.P's are saying this way" he said leading them to the right. They began walking.
Upon walking into a circular chamber with water pouring from the top of the room into a hole in the middle. The P.U.P goes down the hole. "Oh Celestia" Twilight remarks. "The sunlights heating the water!" Rarity exclaimed "Check out the humidity!"
"Yah" Faint responded "And look at the CO2 levels! outside it's completely toxic yet in here theres nothing. It's breathable. Faint started pressing some buttons to open his helmet. Twilight saw him and said "Faint, what are you doing? Don't be an idiot!"
"Dont be a skeptic" He responded "Alright theres something generating an atmosphere! E.V.A.D?"
"Faint Heart is correct" E.V.A.D responded. "Cleaner then Equestria actually" Rarity said.
"They were terraforming here!" Faint exclaimed putting his hands around his helmet to take it off.
"Please don't do that" Twilight said to him.
"No" He said "Im not wearing anything anymore. Wish me luck" He took off the helmet and inhaled the fresh air. After him all the other ponies took them off. "Ponetheus we are taking are helmets off. If you still want to see, then switch to a different feed." Rainbow Dash said taking it off. "Copy that, switching feeds." Said Spike from the ship.

"It's -12 in here!" Rarity said surprised. "Then why is this water not frozen?" asked Faint Heart. "Maybe it's not water" Rainbow Dash stated. "Maybe its alien piss" Applejack suggested. They walked down the dark tunnel. E.V.A.D noticed some carvings on the wall. Letters. They had a weird goo on them. He touched the goo to find it was incredibly sticky. "Impressive" he said silently. They weren't just letters. They were buttons. He examined them and then pressed it in an order. At first nothing happend but then a holograph triggered. There was a slight hissing sound. "What the buck was that?" asked Applejack. "E.V.A.D?" Twilight was getting uncomfortable. "What is that?" Holographic projections of some kinds of alien ponies started running down the tunnel. Away from something. They ran through E.V.A.D and the rest of the crew jumped to the sides of the tunnel, letting the projections through. One of them looked back. "What the hay is that?" Applejack said slowly. "Are you glad we didn't bring any rifles?" Rainbow Dash asked a hint of fright in her voice. Fluttershy was really scared by this. "Whose idea was that?" Rainbow asked. Twilight and Faint galloped in the direction the alien ponies had gone. One of them fell while entering a closing gate and got decapitated. Sure enough, his headless corpse was there. "Oh Celestia" Twilight said "We found them"
Rainbow Dash was scared and angry "What do you mean 'them'?!"
Faint stared at the gate. "looks like... a door? And he's been decapitated by it"
"Son of a diamond dog..." Trixie remarked from back on the ship "They were right" Spike laughed upon hearing this. "What? Did you want them to be wrong?"
There were alien letters carved all around the gate. "E.V.A.D... please tell me you can read this"
"Perhaps" the golem responded. Rainbow was on her breaking point with uneasiness "I'm out of here" She said turning away. "Hey Rainbow where you going?" Twilight asked her.
"I'm gonna go back to the ship if you don't mind" Rainbow said now more angry than afraid "Anypony wanna join me? Huh how about you Applejack? Do you wanna stay here?"
"Nah. Ship's good" Applejack responded. "And how about you Fluttershy?" Rainbow asked. "Ship" Fluttershy squeaked. With that the three of them went the opposite way of the group, Leaving only Faint, Twilight, Rarity and the golem. E.V.A.D got to examining the text while the rest of them examined the body. "Do you have the carbon reader?" Twilight asked Faint. He handed her a cylinder device with a needle which she stuck into the body. "How longs it been dead?" Faint asked her. "two thousand years" she responded. While they had been studying it E.V.A.D had been pressing some letters which were actually buttons. "What are you doing E.V.A.D?" Twilight asked him. "I'm attempting to open the door" he responded
"Wait!" Twilight said "We don't know whats on the other side." The door opened "Oops. sorry" E.V.A.D said plainly. The first thing Twilight noticed was the decapitated head. "Look! It's the head." The head had a sort of tube coming from the mouth. Rarity and Twilight both looked at the head while Faint noticed the giant pony head made of rock. The ground was made of dirt and there were a lot of worms. E.V.A.D looked up at the ceiling and saw murals. "Beautiful paintings" He commented.
"It's a mural" Twilight said while examining it. The room was full of small canisters. E.V.A.D was about to take the lid off one when Twilight stopped him "Don't touch anything"
"Sorry" He responded. He noticed the canister was 'sweating'. Twilight walked up to a strange mural on the wall and stared for a moment. E.V.A.D opened one of the canisters when no one was watching examined the weird gooey liquid inside. There was some... THING in there. The goo was moving around slowly. It started to flow out of the canister like blood. "Organic" He said to himself. Twilight noticed the murals changing "Oh no" she said "Faint, the murals are changing. I think we've affected them... Oh the head..." She galloped towards the entrance of the gate where the head was. "Quick! Help me bag the head.
Outside a major storm was brewing. "Captain" Pinkie Pie said to Spike "We got an incoming storm. Silicon and glass. This is not good" "I see it" Spike responded. He then talked to the team down in the dome "There is a major storm front coming and we think it's gonna last a while. You better hurry. Twilight and Rarity were just finishing bagging the head "Copy that sir. But we need more time here"
"I'll being closing the outer doors in fifteen minutes" Trixie told them "I hope you can make it"
"Faint! E.V.A.D! we must leave now!" Twilight shouted. E.V.A.D was taking one of the canisters by stuffing it into a bag. Faint was still studying one of the murals "E.V.A.D?" Twilight shouted. He was just finishing putting it in and got up to go to Twilight. "Lets go!" shouted Rarity. Faint finished studying it and galloped to the gate. As they were leaving no one noticed that the dripping black goo from the opened canister was gathering into a small pool around it and morphing into something.

Chapter 5

Twilight, Rarity, Faint and E.V.A.D were just leaving the dome and getting on the vehicles. "You're running out of time. I repeat, your running out of time." Spike said from the ship. They started driving and the storm started to cover the dome. They were far from the dome now, which was now inside the storm. Twilight was in the back of one of the small buggies with Faint driving. "Go faster!" She yelled at him. The storm was catching up to them as they got closer the the ship. As the buggy Twilight was in bumped against the end of the airlock bridge, the alien head fell out of her grip and outside into the sand. "The head!" She screamed, jumping out to get it without thinking. "Stop!" Faint shouted "What are you doing?!" As soon as she got it she was hit by the storm and flung into one of the legs of the ship. Faint backed up his buggy and went after her in the middle of the storm while the speakers blared "Gate closing in 5 seconds". "Shit!" Spike said from where he was watching all of this happen. The door started closing as Faint drove toward Twilight. As Faint got next to her he jumped out of the vehicle and it flew away due to the strong winds. He grabbed Twilights hoof. E.V.A.D opened a side-door and putting a metal cord around himself he flung his body towards them. "Twilight!" Faint yelled as he started to lose his grip. Thankfully, E.V.A.D got to them just in time and wrapped the cord around them and the bag. The rope then pulled them all inside. Pinkie Pie, Cyan, and Redtrot were decontaminating the vehicles with flamethrowers inside the airlock. "What was that Twilight?!" Faint asked her harshly "You almost compromised the whole mission. Not to mention, also killing yourself!"
"Are you alright?" E.V.A.D asked
"Yah" She replied "Thank you E.V.A.D"
"My pleasure"
"Alright It's good to have you back but where are Rainbow Dash, Applejack and Fluttershy?" Spike asked Faint and Twilight
"Aren't they back yet?" Twilight asked back. Spike turned to Cyan "Kick them up for me, alright?"

Applejack, Rainbow Dash, and Fluttershy had been looking for the exist ever since they left the group. "We been here before, Rainbow" Applejack said to the pegasus that was navigating. "I know, I know" she responded. The dark tunnels had really been scaring Fluttershy so Applejack and Rainbow Dash had to comfort her.
"Girl's this is the captain" Spike said through the com "Between the static electricity and the wind. Well... theres no safe way to come and get you. "What?!?" Rainbow stood still, shocked. Fluttershy was starting to freak out. "Your gonna have to find a way to stay warm until the storm passes." Spike continued. "Keep your head down and we'll come and get you in the morning. The trio kept walking down the tunnel, unsure of where they were.

Twilight and Rarity had the alien head on a table, examining and scanning it. After scanning it for contagions Rarity confirmed "Alright, nothing contagious"
Trixie walked in to see the studying taking place.
Trixie said to get their attention. "So, are they all dead?"
"Who?" Twilight asked
"Your engineers. Are they all dead?"
"I dont know, we just got here" Twilight said finishing the conversation "Scan" she told E.V.A.D, who pressed some buttons causing an arch at the end of the table to move up and scan the head. "Do you even care if they're dead?" She asked Trixie. Before Trixie could respond Rarity said "Twilight have a look at this" She showed her the xray of the mask. "Thats not an exoskeleton?!" She asked, surprised. "It's a mask" Rarity told her. "Lets see if we can lift it up." Said the now excited Twilight. They tried but the mask wouldn't lift. "It's too heavy" Twilight sighed. "E.V.A.D?" The golem easily lifted the helmet up. Inside was an almost normal pony face, except is was decomposed and didn't have a mane. "Woah" Said an amazed Twilight. "What is that on it's head?" asked Trixie. It had round, small bulges on it's head. "Looks like new cells." Twilight responded, examining the head. "Looks like..."
"Change" Rarity finished for her. "Changing into what?" Trixie asked.
"Can you run a stem line into it?" Twilight asked Rarity. "Perhaps we can trick the nervous system into thinking it's still alive"
Rarity took out a device with a needle at the end and stuck it into the neck. "20 amps. No more." Twilight instructed. It didn't do anything. "add 20" The eyes bolted open. "Down it by 10!" Black liquid started oozing out of the sides of it's head. "Down! Down!" Twilight shouted. "Im trying!" Rarity yelled back. The head started hyperventilating and a horrible smell filled the room. Twilight and Rarity put masks over their faces. "E.V.A.D!" Twilight shouted "Contain It!"
"Turn it off now!" Trixie hollered. E.V.A.D pressed a button and the head was pulled into a small glass cube. As soon as the glass closed, the head exploded in green slime.

Chapter 6

Twilight and Rarity had been studying the DNA from the head after it had exploded. "Isolate the strand" Twilight told Rarity "Prepare it to be gene-sampled" Rarity pressed some buttons and soon the head's DNA was being shown on a screen next to pony DNA. "Overlay" The alien DNA lapsed over the pony DNA to reveal "It's a match!" Twilight inhaled.

E.V.A.D reached into his freezer and took out a small canister. He slid the top around and off. Putting his hand inside he pulled out a transparent, green capsule. It had Black liquid inside it. He opened the capsule and dabbed a bit of the liquid on to his hand. "Big things have small beginnings." He had to learn what it did. He walked out of his room... Towards Faint's chambers.

Faint was playing Pool in his chambers. Enjoying his life. Too bad he didn't know that it would end soon. E.V.A.D walked through the door and picked up a glass and a bottle of wine. Minding his finger with the liquid on it. Faint looked at him and said "Pour yourself a glass, pal." Thinking E.V.A.D had gotten it for himself. "Thank you, but I'm afraid it would be wasted on me."
"Oh right" Faint muttered "Forgot your not a real colt."
"I'm very sorry your 'engineers' are all gone."
Faint laughed "You think we wasted our time coming here dont you?"
"The question depends on the understanding of what you've accomplished here."
"What we wanted to achieve... was to meet our makers. To get answers. Why they made us in the first place" E.V.A.D thought about this for a bit. "Why did you ponies make me?"
"We made you cause we could."
"Can you imagine how disappointing it would be to hear the same thing from your creator?"
Faint laughed "I guess it's a good thing you can't be disappointed."
"Yes. It's wonderful actually. May I ask you something?"
"Please do"
"How far would you go to get what you came all this way for? Your answers. What you be willing to do for them?"
"Anything and everything" E.V.A.D sighed and poured Faint a glass. "Now it's about drinking time I imagine"
Before handing it to him, he dabbed the black goo into the drink. He gulped it all down
"Good health" E.V.A.D said.

Rainbow Dash, Applejack and Fluttershy were still wandering around looking for a good place to settle down. They waved their flashlights around until Rainbow found a pile of dead alien bodies. "Those things?" Applejack asked "Are they real?"
"Course they're real" Rainbow responded. "Celestia. Look at the pile. Looks like they were running from something"
Fluttershy cringed. "Don't touch them, okay?"
Spike was half asleep when he saw that one of the mappers had stopped. He stared at it. He called the trio, scaring the shit out of them. "What are your coordinates?" He asked them. Applejack told him some numbers which Rainbow didn't even listen too. "Why do you want them?" Applejack asked.
"I've got a ping one click next to you"
"What do you mean a ping?"
"Well whatever that probes picking up... is not dead" Spike said "It's reading life-form"
Fluttershy whimpered.
"Okay what do you mean a life-form?" Applejack asked him while Fluttershy hyperventilated. "Is it moving?" The scared pegasus asked. "No. I don't think so" Spike responded. "Captain your obviously not seeing what we are seeing down here, otherwise you wouldn't be talking about a ping" Rainbow Dash said, agitated. "No, the signals grown since the storm here"
"That's no good for us down here!"
"Oh wait it just disappeared." Spike said "Must've been a glitch"
"What do you mean a glitch?!?" Rainbow shouted, angrily.

Chapter 7

Twilight was thinking, while eating, about the events that had taken place. She was studying the footage of the holographic projections of the aliens running and taping an audio diary. "I keep wondering. Was there an outbreak?" She said to herself. Faint walked into her chambers and noticed her recording. "What are you doing?" he asked her
"I'm studying"
"Your always studying"
"I know but I think I'm trying to find something important---" She noticed he had a flower "What is that?" She asked slightly annoyed
"This is a rose. That I had frozen with the ship and I was gonna give it to you if we found what we were looking for"
Twilight grinned "We did find what we were looking for." She started on what they had found only to be interrupted by Faint again "The most significant discovery in the history of ponykind" He said nodding "Oh I know" Faint put the rose on Twilights desk. "But don't you wanna know why they came? Why they abandoned us?"
"We have the answers" Twilight said before giving him into a short kiss "Look" She said pulling out a small glass tablet. She tapped it a few times and it showed the DNA match. "They're DNA pre-dates ours" Twilight says "We come from them"
"Ok" Faint laughed "They made us"
"But who made them" Twilight said jokingly.
"We will never know" Faint realized something

"Alright so Spike said its to the west." Rainbow Dash said to her two friends that were with her "So let's go in the opposite direction." Fluttershy and Applejack nodded and they turned around and started walking "What the buck" Applejack said, nervously. The group walked and eventually got to the chamber with the face. They walked around the chamber which was now flooded with black goo due to the canisters opening. "Uhh whats all this black stuff?" Rainbow Dash asked. " Hey you think this was a god?" The mare asked pointing to the face with her hoof "That they worshipped?" Fluttershy who was standing idly saw something moving in the goo. She jumped "Whats that!?" She hid behind Rainbow. Applejack was the first to respond "Alright stay calm girls..." Some snake like thing with a round head slithered out of the goo. "Hello..." Applejack said getting closer to it. "To Ponetheus, we have some sort of snake type of creature here. 40 inches I think... Transparent skin..." She crouches in front of it and it hissed. She fell back "Woah!" She recovered and put her hoof near it. "S'okay..." She said trying to remain calm. It then opened its facial flaps and its mouth with little sharp teeth and hissed. She continued trying to get her hoof near it calmly only to be scared of once again. Then it bit her hoof and stuck to it. Applejack screamed in pain. "Help!" She cried. When Rainbow got close the thing rapped itself along Applejacks leg and squeezed. She screamed "GET IT OFF! GET IT OFF!" The thing continued to squeeze and brook her leg while Rainbow Dash desperately tried to get it off. When she got the head cut off acid sprayed onto her helmets visor and burned through it, burning her skin. She grabbed it in pain and fell into the goo causing her head to melt. Meanwhile the other part of the snake still on Applejack regrew its head and got into her suit and went into her mouth, choking her. Fluttershy watched in horror, weeping. She was paralyzed with fear.

Faint Heart looked in the mirror in the morning. He saw something in his eye which was now red. He looked close and pulled it down. What he saw almost gave him a heart attack. In his eye, there was a small tentacle wiggling about.

Prologue

Year: 2086 Location: Drackenridge Mountains, Equestria
Twilight Sparkle waved her flashlight around trying to find something interesting.
"There's got to be something around here..."
After some frantic digging here and there she discovered some loose rocks
"Aha!" She screamed in excitement. With a wide smile she called "Faint, Come here, quick!"
A blue coated male unicorn with a yellow mane bursts through the entrance "What is it, Twi?"
Twilight smiled at the unicorn and said, "I found something!"
She pointed to a carving on the stone wall. Both the unicorns looked closely at it. It was a pony pointing to stars.
"It looks like..." Faint starts.
"A space map" Twilight finishes and nods."We may finally know what created us after years of research"
They both sigh with relief. "We should talk with the princess about it" Faint looks at Twilight.
Twilight nods and says "Let's pack up. We should hurry to Canterlot."
The two ponies took a picture of the carving and went to pack up their stuff and go on a long journey south.
