Trixie was exhausted! Who knew that Canterlot General had such fickle patients?Or that many tomatoes? Honestly! But a part time summer job doing magic tricks were rare for someone like Trixie. Sure Trixie had some talent and she certainly had flare. but "the great and powerful Trixie" was more smoke than mirror in a profession that was 70% image, 20% skill, 7% flare and you either had the have or you don't the last 3%. the 'IT factor'.

As stage magicians go trixie was meterocer. at lest it was pay day. after two weeks trixie of entertaining ungreatful patrons she received $178.75. and that was before tax!

As Trixie took her $169.81.  she counted her pay, Said. "see ya later nurse Redheart, Dr. Stable and nurse Sweetheart i'm gonna head home though the old district." Gave a wave and a bow as she headed out the automatic doors of the hospital.

Now there was a old wives tale or five about the old district, people seeing strange things. odd things. thing the rational scientific mind could not, cannot comprehend. people would disappear for decades then be found with no memory of where they been and not having aged a day! and miracles to modern medicine could not yet repeat.

Yup the old district may be crumbling but it had the 'IT factor' in a royal flush, Spades! as Trixie walked the summer august air started to feel like fall. witch was totally perpostrace. pulling her powder blue hoodie closer. as she made it to the main avenue she felt something cold and wet. Snow just a flurry, but snow all the same. Trixie's mind forced her body to stop so it could properly solve the reason there could be snow in aAugust! As Trixie pondered the summer snow storm was starting to pick up. Trixie body sunk up behind her mind's control a slammed into her mind just long enough to activate emergency protocol; 'find shelter'.

As trixie's new priorities took hold she saw a open door. it was on a brick building  witch looked like it had been looted of all but was nailed down but the windows had been boarded up. over the door was a sign almost to faded to read proclaiming it as the "Scrolls 'n Tomes" book shopee.

A bee line barely makes for comparison for you'd insult the absolute straightness of the line Trixie made for the shop's door.

Trixie entered Scrolls n' Tomes no sooner then she's in the door she bumps in to a boy a little older then Trixie herself. He had bright red and striking black spiky hair, pail deep red skin and his eyes were like moltin amber glass. the first the thing out of his gleaming teeth were. "Who are you?! And how you break my domain spell?! Speak or I'll let Frost at yah!"

being off balance and then yelled at, Trixie fell and yelled in kind. "OW! A real gentleman would not scream at the great and powerful Trixie. I know nothing of your "spell" but if was broken it must not have been a very good one now? now where is your dog Frost."

A voice that sound like a cross between icicles against a  chalkboard, a grown of sheer agony, and the creak of  frostbit bones.

an ice blue biped with two long arms end in oversized hands with two thumbs and three fingers. two red eyes a beard made of icicles under a nose of what only copaeronson is a goblin.the body was stocky the legs were thin ending in two crow feet.

"Oy i ain't noo stinking dog geet that thru your head lassee."

when Trixie mind heard the blue thing it act as though in a hazy sleepwalk to the brain reboot button. then proceed to fall on the button. then Trixie's mind proceeded to take a well deserved nap.
