Meeting outside the store

We exchanged confused looks for at least half an hour before she finally leaned off the wall and opened her mouth to speak. “Listen Delz, so…...is there somewhere more private we can talk?” I looked back inside the store at my manager who giving me that get back to work glare.

“Well not now, i’m kinda working.” Sonata turned her head towards the ground.

“Oh well...when do you get off?” I checked my watch and thought back on my hours.

“It’s 9 o'clock so somewhere around 3:30 this evening.” She just sat there staring into the ground.

“Ok..guess i’ll go..” With that she walked off turning around a corner and disappearing from my sight.

“Wonder what she wants to talk about.” I went back into the store and continued to work but out of the corner of my eye, I could see a glimpse of blue hair by the entrance of the store. She was obviously sitting there again, just waiting for me again. What’s her deal? Is she some kind of stalker, maybe a serial killer and here she is planning out when she will kill me. I don’t really know but it’s starting to become awkward. Upon all this thought however, I fail to realize that a customer is talking to me, and is getting very frustrated. The manager then tells me to go home and figure out what’s going on with this girl. I accept and return the clothes. As I started towards the entrance to leave, I couldn’t help but think. I wonder what’s going on with her, she said that her roommates were having some kind of fight with her, not to mention that strange Sunset girl that showed up to take her away. I assumed that was it but I guess not. Upon exiting the door,  I clumsily tripped over something soft. When I took a look as to what just made me fall, it was none other than Sonata laying down in front of the store doors. “Are you crazy! Do you realize how many people walk through here, you can’t just lay down right in front of the doors!” Sonata opened her sleepy eyes and glanced up to me with this strange look in her eyes.

Funny Scene

“Wha...My love!” With that she jumped on to me, hugging and pulling me around.

“Son..ata! What is going on with you?!” Sonata stared at me with heart shaped eyes.

“I never want this to end!” At this point it’s as if she was strangling me as her grip tightened and tightened.

“Sonata, it’s me Delz, let go!” I reached around and unclipped her fingers letting her fall softly to the ground. As she put her gaze back upon me, I realized that she was asleep. Her eyes were halfway closed and she had drool on her cheek. I relentlessly snapped my fingers in front of her face trying to break this sleepy trance. “Sonata wake up!” Suddenly her eyes opened all the way and her pupils returned to their normal size.

“Huh...What!” She looked around and wiped the drool from her mouth. “What just happened, Delz! What did you hear?!” I gave a stern expression.

“Why did you go to sleep in front of the doors, do you realize how many people couldn’t get out.” Sonata stood up, anger on her face.

“Why were you watching me sleep!”

“You slept in public, everyone was watching you sleep, if you were that tired, you should’ve told me and I would have took you to my house!”

“Oh yea, to probably do some perverted stuff!”

“Don’t say that out loud!”

“Stop being a weirdo!”

“Y'know what maybe you can find somewhere else to plant your butt cause you’re not stepping foot in my house again!”

“Oh really! I’ll show where I can like plant my foot then!” With that she kicked me in the butt which made me jump a little. We must have ran four blocks in the time she chased me but finally we settled down at a small taco place not far from my home. We ordered some tacos and sat down at a table in the center of the restaurant. There really was no one there so we were relatively alone.

“So besides hurting my butt, what exactly did you want to talk about?” She took a bite of a taco and set it down.

Sit down

“Now that we have time, I should probably tell you.” The answer to the question i’ve been waiting for, I perked up ready to listen hard. “So here’s what happened yesterday. Sunset Shimmer, the girl who took me away, asked me a few questions. As you know i’m a siren, and so are my two sisters. The reason they kicked me out is because..well..we were able to get our hands on some replacements for our broken necklaces that fueled our power to like sing. Adagio was dead set on using the power to try and take over the school again but Aria suggested something totally different than our original plan. Instead of using the hatred of one world, she suggested we use the hatred from both Canterlot high and Equestria to gain more power and then seclude the Rainbooms away from each other to take them out, one by one. Being who I am, I was on board but suddenly I realized something. I was being forced to take part in the plan against my better judgment. I mean just thinking about the last time they beat us brings back bad memories, not being able to sing at all. Not even to control people, just singing in general. So as my own person I spoke out against the plan, saying that maybe we should leave both worlds alone and consider being normal for once. With that comment, they evicted me from our house, the one we all payed rent on. After that, that’s where you found me outside in the park. Sunset knows the same story just so you know.” My eyes met her’s as she took another bite of her taco.

“Whoa….that’s deep. Man if you had told me earlier, I wouldn’t have been so easygoing about you leaving my house.” Sonata just sighed.

“I didn’t want to be a burden. I’d be totally trespassing on your privacy.” I stood up fast a lightning and held my hand up as if people were cheering me on.

“No buts, you’re are officially staying at my house!” Sonata motioned me to sit down.

“Delz..sit down you’re making a scene.” I looked around at the two employees behind the corner. Nervously laughing, I splashed a full glass of water into my mouth.

“It was a really..hot taco.” The employees giggled and went back to their work as I sat down. “Whew that was close.” Sonata giggled softly.

“Maybe you shouldn’t burst out like that them. Look, the other reason I came here was to ask you a question.” I stopped in the middle of trying to take a bite.

“Question?” Sonata’s face turned red and she turned her to the side.

“Would you like to...y'know like...hang out sometime?” I grinned at her with curiosity.

“Why ya blushing?”

“I don’t know that taco was just..hot.”

“Are you sure cause it seems like you’re trying to..” I stopped as Sonata picked up napkin holder and threw it at me nailing me in the head. I fell out of my seat and hit the ground with a thud. Sonata squealed at what she had just done and ran around the table.

“Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, are you okay?” I put a thumbs up.

“I’ll be fine just get some ice.” Sonata nodded and returned two minutes with some ice.

“So is that a yes?” I reached for my phone and pulled up a calendar.

“Tomorrow is good for me.” She yipped in joy.

“Yes!” After realizing I was looking at her she returned to a nonchalant stance. “Um..yea  whatever.” She picked me up and we returned to my home. As we entered the house, Sonata had helped me into my lounge chair in my living room due to the blow to the head. “Easy Delz.” She sat me down and pulled the ice away from my forehead. “Feel better?” I nodded.

Rest of the story

“It wasn’t too bad a hit.” Sonata pulled herself up onto my kitchen counter, swinging her feet.

“So how’s this gonna work? Do I sleep in your bed or something?” I shook my head.

“No way, what’re you tryna do, kick me out of my room. I actually have a guest room believe it or not, but I use it for storage. Until then I’m gonna set something out.” Sonata gave me a surprised gasp.

“What, you’re gonna make me lay down on the hard floor?!” I laughed.

“It’s actually a pretty comfortable floor. If you’re really that against it, i’ll hang up a hammock or something. It’s only until I clean out the guest room.” With that she jumped off the counter and grabbed a hammer, two sets of covers, and nails from around the house. Quickly she dashed around the room like a blur. When she finally stopped next to me, she was out of breath but smiling none the less. "Why are you out of..What!” I stared at the corner in which she had successfully hung up the two covers to create a hammock. “How did you do that so fast?!” She laughed.

“It’s a siren thing.” This girl is something else. I stood up and proceeded to the kitchen.

“You hungry?”

“You bet!”

“Well then let me see here….How does spaghetti sound to you?” I looked back for Sonata’s answer only to see the star in her eye.

“It..sounds...great!” I laughed and went to start cooking. After about half an hour, I plopped the plate on the counter and watched as she snatched it and gobbled it up.

“Whoa..you are something else Sonata.” As she finished the plate, she stood in front of me and bowed.

“Thank you for the meal.”

“Wow it’s nice to see that some people have manners.”

“And it’s odd to see that some men can actually cook.”

“Yea, my mom calls it hidden talent, mainly cause i’m the only male out of my family who can truly cook. Oh and Sonata seeing as how you bowed you might as well use the right phrase. After a meal you say ‘Domo arigatogozaimashita’ basically meaning thank you.” Sonata held her head in confusion.

“Domo..ari..goto.....gati....oh whatever, what language even is that?” I laughed at her attempts.

“It’s Japanese, I spent some time with my family a year ago and they like to speak nothing but Japanese to family so sometimes it just happens to come back to me. I forget a lot of it as I don’t spend enough time around my parents.” Sonata dumped herself into my lounge chair.

“So you’re Japanese then. I learn something new everyday I guess.” I made myself a plate of spaghetti and sat down next to her.

“Wanna turn on some TV?” Sonata grabbed the remote and clicked the TV on.

“I know this totally awesome channel!” When she flipped to the channel, I quickly realized what we were watching.

“No, no, no, we’re not watching this.”

"Oh come on it’s just singing.”

"Yea but it’s a freaking musical. Since when are musical’s good now?”

“Please, please just for a little while?” Oh man not the sad eyes, make it stop.

“Fine.”

“Sweet!” What have I done? After the torture was done I decided it was time to turn in.

“Well think i’m gonna hit the hay.” Sonata laughed.

“Last time I checked that meant playing video games until 1 o’clock in the morning.”

“Well that is my version of sleep, thank you very much.” I started off towards my room. “Is there anything else you need before I go to bed?” She giggled and shook her head.

“You mean playing games and no there isn’t anything else.” I comically scowled at her and went into my fortress of solitude. That night I stayed up in my bed playing games as usual but I thought to myself. I’ve only know this girl for what, two days at least. Now she’s in my home sleeping it up. Have I done the right thing just inviting her into my home. I mean what if she kills me in my sleep. Before I had time to ponder that question, the softness of my bed lured me into sleep. Two hours later I woke up and checked my watch.

“11:41..I must have really been tired." I got out of my bed, turned off my game and TV and began getting in bed until something caught my attention. A low moan from the other side of my bed. I rubbed my blurry eyes and tried to make out whatever was in my bed. It was Sonata sleeping like a baby. “Geez didn’t even ask to sleep in my bed.” I smiled and grabbed two pillows. “Even when I say no, she still kicked me out of my room, oh well.” I went to the door and slowly closed it. As the door was near being closed, I softly whispered, “Goodnight.” I plopped my pillows on the homemade hammock Sonata made, and climbed up. My drowsy state finally kicked in and my eyes closed slowly. “Y'know what, she’s kinda cute I guess.” And with that, I was off into my dreams.
