When Technical Support is Too Helpful
Thirteen - Amy's Dream
Previous ChapterNext ChapterThe gentle babble of water and bird songs rouse her from her slumber. She felt a blanket of thick, soft moss under her. Once she opened her eyes, she confirmed he suspicions. A sprinkle of light blinded her through the lush leaves above her. She saw the wide tree from which the leaves grew from and smiled, she felt as if the tree had its arms around her to protect her. A yawn left her as she stretched. She sat underneath the tree for a few moments absorbing the sound and scent of the nature around her. A small brook ran a few feet away from her, a steep embankment rose on the other side of the water packed with trees, similar yet smaller than the tree she had fallen asleep under. She saw her hair blow in front of her face. She held the long, wavy auburn hair in her hands. She scrambled to the stream and gasped as she saw an unfamiliar face looking at her. She had slightly tan skin, brown freckles dotted her cheeks and nose, dark green eyes replaced her amethyst gems, and she had a small scar on her chin. She groped her four size larger breast through a leather vest and giggled. She returned to the tree and stared at it. For some odd reason, she had a strong urge to hug the tree, which she did.
"Treehugger," a familiar voice called out.
She flipped her head and saw Onyx in his familiar black armour his face cracked into a goofy smile, "Shut up," she heard herself say in an unfamiliar voice.
Onyx laughed then his face became neutral, "I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I think you should know this."
She immediately feared the worst, "Wh-what?" her voice cracked.
"Grey is getting married."
She sighed then started to laugh, "How is that 'bad news', Onyx?"
He cocked his head, confused, "Because you are madly in love with him?"
Amy busted out laughing, she held her sides and wiped a tear from her eye, "Oh, Onyx! Such a riot! You know I love Kyllgorr."
"That's the first I heard you say that and the first I heard that name," she saw Onyx scan her body, "Are you feeling alright, Merhda'aa? Just last night you were singing your drunken little heart out about making him fall in love with you."
Amy sat down on a large root, her head in her hands, memories flooded her brain. A hand on her shoulder made her look up into the concerned cobalt eyes of Onyx.
"Where am I?" she questioned with a confused expression.
Onyx sighed, "We told you not to eat too many of those mushrooms."
"I didn't eat anything! I just woke up here after falling asleep in the vault!" she exclaimed, "You, Grey, Darqlon, and Kyllgorr were there!"
"I don't know who Kyllgorr or Darqlon are," Onyx stated as he unbuckled a flask from his belt and handed it to her, "Drink this, it should clear your head."
She smacked the horn flask away from her face and growled, "There is nothing wrong with me!"
"Alright, alright," he stood up with his hands up in surrender, "I'm going to get Grey, maybe he has heard of them. Stay here."
She watched the slightly younger looking Onyx walk around the tree and disappear from view. Ten minutes later, she heard bushes and branches stir behind her. She saw Grey emerge from the greenery, he held two sticks with meat on them. As he drew near, he offered one of the sticks to her. She shook her head in disgust, but the growl in her stomach made her accept his offering. He smiled and sat beside her on the root.
She licked the meat hesitantly, then took a big bite out of the meat, a soft moan escaped her mouth. Why had she not ever eaten meat before! Oh, right, she was a pony. She was not now so she devoured the meat in five bites. I do not think she even chewed...
"This is the second time I have heard the name 'Darqlon'. Uttered by a woman in a similar situation as yourself," he finally spoke.
Amy eyed the meat at the end of his stick, he noticed and held it out for her with a smile.
"Does the name 'Rarity' mean anything to you?" he asked.
"Mhmm!" she swallowed the chunk she had just bitten, "She is my friend. There were..." Amy counted out on her hand, "Nine others."
"And what is your name?"
"Amy! Well," she cleaned her teeth with her tongue, "Seamless Stitch, but I prefer Amy."
"Who is 'Kyllgorr'?"
"He... he is the love of my life," her emerald gems gazed up at him in sadness.
He placed a hand on her small shoulder and gave a reassuring smile, "I am more than positive you will see him again. It sounds like the older me has given you memory shards, for whatever reason."
"But if they are of this woman's memories, how do you remember Rarity?"
"Well, from my understanding, time is a "
"Web," Amy finished for him, "Yeah, you gave us this speech."
Grey chuckled, "Well, this is a parallel universe, that is how I remembered."
"Right..." Amy trailed off then perked up, "Then that means you can help him!"
"I beg your pardon?"
"Yeah, when you " she stopped herself, "Damn... you... would not be able to..."
"I'm lost," Grey admitted.
She placed a small hand over his large hand, "You will meet Kyllgorr in the future. Just, keep him safe for me, okay?"
Grey smiled, "I'll try my best, Amy." He placed his hand over hers.
"Ahem," a woman cleared her voice behind them.
"Val!" Grey stood up smiling, "I didn't expect you to be awake so soon. Sleep well?"
Amy felt the woman's malachite eyes pierce her soul.
"Who is this woman, Grey?" she snapped.
"Now, Val," Grey held out his hands, "this is Merhda'aa, one of my comrades. She's saved my ass a couple of times."
The woman (who could probably be an inch taller than Amy) had bright crimson hair that barely passed her ears eyed both Grey and Amy. She extended her hand and Amy did the same.
Val nearly crushed all the bones in her hand and pulled her in closer, "A pleasure to make your acquaintance," she hissed in contempt.
"Yeah!" Amy squeaked and winced in pain.
Grey held the woman's shoulders and she thankfully released her grip, "Merhda'aa, this is my betrothed, Valkyrie."
"I wish only happiness for the both of you," Amy smiled as she cradled her hand.
"Let's go eat, Grey," Val urged and pulled on him away.
Grey laughed, "Yes, my love. We can talk more later. If you have any questions just ask Onyx." The two of them disappeared into the bushes.
Amy whimpered and fell to her knees nursing her hand.
"That woman will be the death of him," she heard Onyx spout beside her.
"Oh, yes," Amy added, "Valkyrie will lead to the deaths of many if the stories I heard are to be trusted."
