How they had gotten on the topic of estrus none of them will ever know, but one thing was for sure, they were all curious about it.
"So if we get pony ears and wings and stuff, don't you think we'd have enough pony DNA in us to go through heat?" Rainbow Dash asked, tuning her guitar.
"I don't think that's how it works," Sunset answered her, tuning hers too. She blinked. "Though I don't exactly know how it works at all so I can't guarantee that."
"What about heat?" Twilight asked as she and the other girls walked into the music room, as Dash had asked her question.
"Apperently Rainbow thinks we have enough pony DNA in all of us to go though heat," Sunset explained. "But that can't be possible. I've been here for years and I haven't gone through it."
"What exactly happens when you go through heat?" Pinkie asked, tilting her head.
Fluttershy blushed. "Well...um...you see...a mare essentially...um.." She struggled to form words about the vulgar topic.
"Basically it's when a mare is practically begging to be rutted." Sunset finished for her.
"Rutted? Such a scandalous word..." Rarity mumbled.
"Well there are other terms too. Laid, filled, loved, fu-"
"Yes yes, we get it!" Rarity cut her off, developing a blush of her own. "So...are you saying there's a possibility we might all go through it?"
Sunset shrugged. "Who knows. Have you felt like your knees are weak around a boy? Or that you want nothing more than to be ravaged to the point where you can't even think?"
Applejack furrowed her brow. "Uh...can't say any of us have..."
"Then you're not in heat. Trust me. It's not something fun to have." Sunset responded.
"Are you kidding me? I'd rather lust for sex for two weeks than have blood coming out of me! I vote for heat! Sign me up!" Rainbow said, raising her hand.
"It's seriously not fun at all," Sunset insisted. "It's in many ways like your period but proficiently worse,"
"How so?" Twilight asked.
"For starters the moment you get your cutie mark it hits you like a freight train," Sunset said, counting off on her fingers. "Secondly, you release pheromones that entice the male population around you and it can lead to some very awkward situations," She said, shuddering.
"Oh come on, it can't be that bad," Rainbow Dash said, rolling her eyes.
"No trust me, I'd rather have cramps than go through that again," Sunset insisted.
"Well what about Twilight? How does that egg head deal with it?" Dash retorted.
Sunset rubbed her chin. "She doesn't exactly have time to...uh, take care of it, so she gets some medicine to hold her over."
"Boring," Pinkie said, rolling her eyes. "What's the point of being sex-crazed for a few days if you don't want to do anything with it?"
"Pinkie!" Rarity said, aghast.
Pinkie's head snapped in her direction. "What? If I was going through heat I'd go nuts for well, nuts!"
Twilight adjusted her glasses, blushing. "Um, can we change the subject please?"
Fluttershy nodded in agreement.
"What's the big deal, we're just talking about sex," Rainbow Dash said. "What, you afraid of the big bad s word?"
"Absolutely not." Twilight said indignantly. "It's just, you know...this is an odd subject."
"How? Sex is completely natural," Rarity told her.
"I know...it's just...I get all flustered when people start talking about it," Twilight admitted.
"Which is completely understandable." Sunset assured her with a smile. "Some of us aren't as crass as Rainbow."
Dash rolled her eyes. "We're not in grade school. Sex shouldn't be a sensitive topic."
"Question, if all of us went through heat, what are the chances that we'd be attracted to each other?" Applejack asked, rubbing her chin.
Sunset blinked. "That's a good question. We wouldn't know unless it happened though," she added with a shrug.
"I'd shag all you guys!" Rainbow barked. "I mean, not like I wouldn't now. Especially Rarity." She put an arm around the fashionista which was promptly removed.
Sunset gave her a wry smile. "Flattering, but you're not exactly my type," she jabbed.
"Oh what is? That big stallion on Applejack's farm?" Rainbow teased with a sly smile.
"N-No! You know that kind of stuff is illegal!" Sunset snapped back immediately. "Besides, I don't need the real thing when they sell something close to it online," she mumbled.
"You have a horse dildo?!" Pinkie shouted. "Maud does too! She calls him Rocky! He comes with the white stuff and everything!"
Dash giggled. "Hehehe, comes."
Rarity placed an appalled hand on her chest. "My word! Aren't those things long as a pipe?!"
Sunset rolled her eyes. "Not always. But I mean there was this one time back in Equestria-"
There was a loud thud as Fluttershy fainted to the ground.
"We lost her!" Dash yelled, fanning the girl's face.
"Uh, guess that's a story for another time then," Sunset decided. "What about you, Dash? What's your type?"
"Anyone with a body like yours," Dash said, making an hourglass shape with her hands. "Ow!" She grumbled, as both Applejack and Rarity hit her over the head. "She asked!"
"M-Maybe we should start practice now," Twilight piped, wiping her glasses.
"Indeed," Rarity agreed. "I've had just about enough of this,"
"Oh come on Rarity, you're acting like you don't masturbate or whatever. I bet you get off to older guys with pornstaches!" Dash told her.
Rarity flushed, babbling. "Wha- I- You- Rainbow Dash! I do not!" She ran a hand through her hair indignantly. "I like younger men."
"Coulda fooled me with the way you stare down Mac when you're down at the farm," Applejack chuckled.
"Hush, you!" Rarity chided.
Twilight spoke up again, breathing heavily. "S-Seriously guys I think we should change the sub-"
"I bet Fluttershy is into that furry stuff, you know the one where they dress up as animals," Dash gushed, pointing to the passed out tambourine player.
"People actually do that?" Sunset asked skeptically.
"Yeah, dogs, cats, horses, you name it." Dash nodded.
"Oh! I bet she's into BDSM too! You know, the one where the guy ties the girl up and tell her how she's been a naughty girl!" Pinkie added.
"That's the last time I let you watch a movie with me," Rarity mumbled.
"You actually like that Fifty Shades of crap?" Dash asked, folding her arms. "I could make a better sex scene with my dad's camrea and a rubber chicken."
"Guys!" Twilight squeaked again. Though no one heard her. Or noticed that she was visibly shaking now.
"Oh but the part with the hair pulling! Now that's something my cupcake can get frosted from!" Pinkie said, pulling on her own hair. She let out a small playful moan when Dash joined in.
Twilight was panting now.
"I'd rather be the one doing the tying," Applejack chimed in. "I consider myself pretty dominant." She said proudly with a wink.
"Oh really?" Dash asked with a cheeky smile. "You wanna demonstrate your roping skills on me sometime?"
That was the last straw. An eruption of blood shot out of Twilight's nose as she fell to the floor. The last thing she said before she passed out was, "I regret nothing."
The other girls stared at each other, then back at their bleeding friend.
Sunset's eyebrows shot up. "Wow, she wasn't kidding."
