The Misadventures of A Changeling
Hi, my name is Reece and I'm many things, a hunter, a swimmer, a Bassist/Guitarist, scrappy, a gamer, a Brony and most importantly a human or I was at least. When I came home from a long day of hunting I was so exhausted and ready for bed that I fell asleep on the couch still in my camouflage, using my gray Stetson to cover my eyes I quickly fell asleep. Once asleep I found myself in a plain white field with no end in sight.
The scene abruptly changed to a damp cave filled with crystals that glowed a sickly green against the cave walls, suddenly a swarm of cyan blue orbs came rushing towards me from deeper inside the cave. As my eyes adjusted to the darkness I was able to make out the figures, they were changelings hundreds of them head right for me. I panicked and tried to run the opposite direction but tripped and fell. As I tried to get up a and see what I had tripped over I realized that I no longer had two legs but four each ending with hole filled hooves. The realization hit me like a ton of bricks. I panicked even more as the swarm of changelings grabbed me and began pulling me deeper into the cave.
I tried to scream only to have my mouth covered by a hoof. My eyes darted back and forth in an attempt to see where they were taking me but it was useless I couldn't see three feet in front of my face. We entered a large cavern still traveling at the same pace when I decided to look below me. An empty black abyss was the only thing I saw. It must've been hundreds of feet down before you'd hit the bottom. As luck would have it at that moment I thought that the changelings that were carrying me dropped me into the abyss. I screamed as I plummeted to the bottom and attempted to try and use my wings to fly. Nearing the bottom I saw a bright light and then I blacked out.
As I woke up I recounted the events of last nights nightmare and felt a shiver run down my spine. "Glad that's over." I muttered to myself as I brought my hand to my eye. What I saw though was not my hand but a black hole filled hoof. I panicked once again trying to scoot away from the appendage only to come to the starling realization that I was now a changeling.
I may or may not have payed in a fetal position for about ten minutes while I processed everything that had just happened. Can you really blame me though? You try becoming an entirely different species against your will and we'll see how well you fair then. Once I mustered up enough willpower I tried to stand up. Key word 'try'. After trying and failing multiple times I finally managed to keep my balance. "Now here comes the fun part." I said sarcastically dreading the idea of having to retrain myself to walk. After around an hour of constant attempts on walking I finally started to get the hang of it. "That actually took longer than I thought it would." I said to no one in particular. "Right, I'm the only one in this god forsaken forest." I started looking around me to get a feel for my surroundings which I hadn't done already since I was preoccupied with getting mobile. I was in a forest that was definitely straight out of MLP but which on was the real question. The second thing I noticed was a piece of old paper next to my gray Stetson. I walked towards it filled with curiosity as I got closer. The closer I got the more words I could make out but what really motivated me was my $200 Stetson sitting unattended in the middle of a forest. I reached the note and began to read what was written on the ancient looking paper
Dear Reece
There is a shelter that I have prepared for you a mile North of your current location.
I have put many of your personal items in this shelter for you as you are going to be there for awhile.
But on to more important matters as to why you are here.
Well that's simple really.
I was bored and I believe that you can supply some much needed entertainment for me.
