Applejack and the Pie Factory
The Amazing Silver Ticket Contest
Apple Scent returned from the toothpaste factory where she worked. She came back with her fifty bit paycheck, because it was the end of February. Applejack ran to her beloved mother and hugged her.
"How was work, Mom?" Applejack asked.
"Well, just like normal, screw a ton of toothpaste caps. The day seemed like never-ending." Apple Scent replied. "But I got the latest newspaper and I saw a pretty interesting subject."
"Really?" Grandpa Smith asked. "What is it? Did another celebrity lose their fame? I like that kind of stories!"
"No, not really."
Applejack and the Pie Factory
Applejack is a twelve-year old filly.
She lives with her parents, Apple Tart and Apple Scent.
And with her grandparents, Grandma Smith and Grandpa Smith, Apple Tart's parents, and Grandma Slice and Grandpa Slice, Apple Scent's parents.
The family lives in a broken barn at the edge of the city. The only hay stack was given to the grandparents, so they would have where to rest. Applejack and her parents sleep on the ground.
The only things they could afford to eat were bread with butter at breakfast and lettuce soup at dinner.
Apple Scent worked at a toothpaste factory. She had to screw the toothpaste caps after the tube has been filled with toothpaste, but she earned only fifty bits per month.
But, a couple of kilometres away, there is a huge pie factory, known as the Grand Cakes' Pie Factory, which seemed to be ironic for Applejack. But all she wanted to do is to taste a pie.
She could only eat a pie on her birthday, when every member of the family except her gather enough money to buy a pie. And it was always from the Grand Cakes' Pie Factory. Applejack loved their pies.
But she never knew that the whole factory could belong to her if she won only one Silver Ticket.
