Delilah walked down the hallway, bumping into Violet Rain. “Hey!” Violet exclaimed. Delilah let out a high pitched laugh as she walked away without apologizing.
She disappeared into the blur of ponies walking down the hallway. Violet glared in her direction and then she turned to her friend. “Ugh, she annoys the hell out of me, what’s her problem?”
“I don’t know…” Peppermint Rose replied, shrugging her shoulders.
Violet sighed angrily and stormed off to her next class. Peppermint hurried after her. They both had their next class together, and sadly, Delilah would be joining them.
Their next class was Phys. Ed. “I don’t know why she picks on us so much.” Violet complained to Peppermint.
“I know, we never talk to her and we haven’t ever done anything that would make her do this to us. I just don’t understand.” Peppermint and Violet left the gym after the coach had taken roll to go change into their clothes for running.
“I mean… Really.. Why us? Isn’t there someone else she can pick on?” Violet said as she pushed open the door to the locker room.
Peppermint sighed and nodded. They put on their clothes and Peppermint pulled her long red hair into a ponytail, keeping it out of her face. Her bangs escaped their hold and fell back into her face. Violet pulled her short, black hair into pigtails, it was too short to go into a ponytail and she needed to keep it out of her face.
They left the locker room before any of the other mares could go in. They hurried back to the gym and waited for everyone else to come back so the coach could take roll once again to make sure nopony was hiding out in the locker room. After roll, he had them run a few laps around the gym. Peppermint and Violet had managed to stay out of Delilah’s way for most of the class.
After running, the coach brought out a cart of volleyballs and a cart of basketballs for them to play with for the rest of class. Peppermint and Violet chose to just sit down for the rest of class instead of do more physical activity.
They took a seat next to each other in the bleachers and watched the other kids play with the balls. Violet took her hair down, and Peppermint did the same. They began to talk to each other about what had happened earlier that day when Delilah walked up to them.
“What are you losers doing?” She said in her usual snooty voice.
“What do you care?” Violet asked.
“Oh, I don’t.”
“Then why are you asking?” Peppermint asked.
Delilah opened her mouth to respond, but no words came out, she was speechless. Violet and Peppermint smiled as she walked away. Gym class quickly came to an end, and coach looked at his list and chose two ponies to put away all of the balls into the equipment room.
“Delilah Dusk, and Violet Rain,” He said. “Go and put away all the balls.”
Violet groaned and Delilah let out a small chuckle. They each grabbed a basket and started putting the balls in them while the other ponies left to go change back into their school clothes. The coach left the gym and went back to his office.
Violet tried to pick up all the balls as fast as she could so she wouldn’t have to talk to Delilah. She packed the basket full of balls until it was overflowing with balls, and then she left the gym to put them in the equipment room.
Violet pushed the basket into the equipment room, heading towards the back where there was an empty space for them. She pushed the basket back there and then turned around to leave the equipment room and go change and finish the school day. As she turned, Delilah appeared in front of her with the basket. She roughly shoved it into Violet and she fell backwards, hitting the wall behind her.
“You bitch!” Violet screamed, getting up.
Delilah just laughed and put her basket where it was supposed to go. She turned to leave the room. Violet stayed where she was, taking a few deep breaths to calm herself, and then she followed behind Delilah.
Delilah stood at the door to the equipment room, pushing it as hard as she could. The door stayed closed. She squealed with the effort of trying to open it. Violet sighed and rolled her eyes.
“It’s locked. You’re not going to be able to open it,” Violet said with a sigh.
“But it has to open!” She squealed, pushing harder on the door. She released an angry sounding groan and then she sighed and sat down on a mat next to Violet.
“Get away from me you freak,” She said, blowing her bangs out of her face.
“I was here first,” I challenged. “I’m not moving, if you want me to move you’ll have to make me.”
Delilah stood up and stomped away, sitting on another mat, pretty distant from Violet’s. She let out another sigh. She sounded pretty upset. Violet closed her eyes and tried to ignore the mumbles and grumbles Delilah was making to herself. She tried to think of something that would distract her.
Her mind wandered into the deep dark corners of her mind. She imagined things that she could never have even dreamed of. A smile prickled on her lips as the corners began to turn up. Her imagination was bringing her great joy, and she wanted to make it real. She opened her eyes and saw that Delilah has laid down on the mat, and had her eyes closed. She was asleep. “Perfect…” Violet whispered to herself as she stood up and crept over to the other end of the equipment room.
She moved slowly and silently, making sure she didn’t awaken her captive partner. She searched to room for something sharp. Anything. Even a pencil would do. She then found a broken piece of rusty metal lying on the ground. Another, larger smile formed on her face as she picked it up.
She then began to stalk back over to where Delilah was lying down. Violet pointed the sharper end of the metal rod towards Delilah. She smiled as she plunged it down into her chest. Delilah, didn’t die, but instead her eyes shot open and her mouth as well, screaming in pain and in fear.
Blood poured out of the wound in her chest, flowing down her body and leaking onto the mat. Violet couldn’t wipe the smile off of her face. Delilah’s tear filled eyes swiveled around to find Violet. She continued screaming, and Violet relished in the sound. She yanked the metal rod out of her chest and stabbed into it again, harder. More blood splashed out. Covering Delilah and splashing onto Violet as well.
She loved the feeling of her enemy’s warm blood on her skin. And her blood curling screams echoing through the equipment room made Violet’s smile grow. She lifted the rod again and continued stabbing into her until her body stopped jolting and her screams grew silent.
Violet let go of the rod, staring down into Delilah’s cold, gray, lifeless eyes, panting with the effort of murdering her. She could feel the blood that had splashed onto her begin to dry. She scrambled around to find something to wash it off with. She found an old sweat towel and held her breath as she wiped it across her face.
She felt like she had gotten most of it off, and she put down the rag and walked over to the mat she had been sitting on before she had done the deed. She laid down, just as Delilah had been doing, and closed her eyes. She slowed her rapid breathing and tried to fall asleep. She would probably go to jail as soon as someone let her out of the equipment room, but she didn’t care. She had finally ended the thing she had wanted to end for so long.
A smile formed on her face just as she drifted off into dream land.
