I was on my way to my room. I had just raised the moon while my sister lowered the sun. I had to get ready for my duties as princess of the night. As I went to my room I opened the door and found a note. Strange huh? It read 'To Princess Luna' . I shrugged and opened it. Inside it read,
' I paint your name in the night sky,
But the wind blows it away,
I'd paint your name in the sand,
But the waves washed it away,
I painted your name in my heart,
But there... It will forever stay,
From a secret admirer.'
I was shocked to read this. Me? Having some pony who liked me? Who could it be? I walked over to my bed, reading it over and over and over again. But sitting there... Was another note. Wow this is the second one. This one read,
' Dear princess Luna,
By now you would have found my poem to you. I just wanted to say, I love you. I can't put it any other way for you. Your eyes shining like the stars, your flowing mane and tail,your voice that sounds like an angel... To me you scream in every way beautiful. I am a royal guard, you probably haven't noticed me yet, and I'll admit I couldn't think of any other way for me to express my feelings to you. Right now it would be night time by the time you read this, and so you know... You're not alone in this world. I am wide awake during your beautiful nights. Your lovely work of art... I could gaze at your stars for a long time, but... I could gaze at you for eternity. No matter how much I try, I can't get my mind off you, my heart beats every time you even pass me. I am shocked that somepony like you still isn't dating...
I must end this letter my love, but for you to know, I meant every word in this letter.

A secret admirer...
A love letter... To me? Wow it's almost hearts and hooves day and I've got some pony who has a crush on me? I better keep an eye out... I must go to my duties now... But shall forever keep this... I thought...
Nopony's POV...
In another room of the castle, was a unicorn guard who had a dark blue coat, with a silver mane and tail with two swords crossing with the moon symbol at each first end of them. He had a grin on his face.
"I love you Luna... Forever and always..." He whispered before he gazed at the night sky thinking of his special somepony...
Back with Luna!
It was strange... who was the pony of whom had left that letter and poem? I don't know anypony of whom have feelings that strong for me...
I then left my room, however, not after i secretly put both letter and love poem away. I trotted out of my night sky like room, and trotted down the corridor in a strange sense of happiness.
Why in the name of the stars was i so happy? It was just a letter and poem right? Nothing special...
But the way the... guard? Pony? Secret lover... the way the secret lover worded it made it sound like they actually cared... like what they said was true...
But... maybe it was? The way they worded it made it sound so real... so caring and kind... no pony could possibly care for me so much in that way... could they?
It was strange really. Nopony really has ever shown me that type of affection. It... it felt nice. One could say. It felt nice to be loved in that way. It was also nice that there were some ponies that liked my... 'work of art' as they had expressed in the letter.
I felt a surge of happiness. No pony- apart from Celestia or Tia as i call her- had actually admitted to me that they liked my night... apart from Twilight Sparkle but that mare just won't stop studying it! The way the... admirer expressed his emotions was nice... and sweet... and it's starting to make me feel all tingly.
However... there are things i must take care of... maybe i'll meet him?
???? POV :
I sighed. It was the time again.
I've always disliked night duty, no matter how many times i tried, it was always inside. Never had a chance to take patrol outside...
Oh well, might see her then... i guess…
Luna's pov:
So… quiet… so… boring.
As always, never a pony there… funny. I guess it just gives me more time to myself. Not too bad anymore honestly…
I'm going down to my night gardens. Tia was so nice as to create some glowing flowers that bloomed only every night. I had ordered them myself. Gave quite a nice jungle feeling, if you ask me.
They had grown, some enough to droop like vines! I had to get some arches for them to grow around. It was quite a bit of work, however, it definitely paid off well.
The garden is always so peaceful… which is why i always love to come here. Normally, when there is a nightmare i need to attend to, i feel shivers and have a vision of whose nightmare it is. So really, my job is never a job, more of a “i'll come around whenever a pony needs help” type of thing.
I sigh as i realise that… my night must come to an end soon.
I sigh once more and get up… readying myself to wake my sister…
Nopony's pov:
Princess Luna was walking down the corridor. Only guards were to be seen, mostly the Lunar guards, but some Celestial guards were also there in the mix.
It was strange actually. Most Celestial guards would only accept the day shift, not so much the night shift. Though… it was a little flattering… to Princess Luna anyways.
Princess Luna kept on trotting through the castle, nodding to the guards of whom saluted as she passed them. She kept a slight smile on her face.
---- TIME SKIP ----
From waking her sister up, lowering the moon and taking quite a few turn in the castle, Luna was tired. No… that was putting it lightly. The… night had been long, sure, no nightmares to tend to, but there were other issues to tend to.
Her mind was… elsewhere. To say, she was still thinking about the poem and note she found in her room from the beginning of the night. She had thought she would’ve forgotten by now but…
To say the least, whoever this… secret admirer was, he sure had a way with words.
To say the least, her head was so in the clouds, that she bumped right into one of the guards.
“OOMPH!” came a muffled from the other side.
“Oh dear…” Mumbled Princess Luna as she shook her head to gain her senses again.
“Oh i'm terribly sorry Princess! Here, let me help.” Said a voice. It sounded like a stallion.
Luna looked up and found a unicorn guard who had a dark blue coat, with a silver mane and tail with two swords crossing with the moon symbol at each first end of them. He had a gentle smile on his face… and he was wearing the Celestial armour.
“Thank you.” Luna grabbed his hoof and with the help of the guard, she got up. He was surprisingly very strong.
“Of course your highness, my head was in the clouds… maybe not literally, but it was.” He grinned, and she giggled slightly.
“No worries, mine was too.” Replied Luna, wearing a gentle smile, “May i ask you your name?”
“Night Blade.” Replied Night Blade, “But Either Night or Blade will do your highness.”
“Of Course… Blade.” Said Luna.
“I'm dreadfully sorry your highness, but i must excuse myself.” Blade said.
“Of course, i must also excuse myself.” Luna replied, giving a final nod before walking away.
As soon as Princess Luna was out of sight, Night Blade quickly trotted to his room, slamming the door accidentally. He slid down the door and sat on the floor.
“It was her…” he thought as a smile crept on his face and he sighed dreamily, “It really was…”.
Luna entered her, quite honestly, very tired.
Despit nopony not having nightmares she did, unfortunately, have other things to tend to.
Tiredly, and pleased to finally go to bed, she slipped into her bed, looking at the note and hoof written letter that was for her and her alone.
"I wonder who he is..." She thought before slipping, very peacefully, to sleep.
