Symbol had just finished the school day. He was a young colt who inside was secretive but outside was loud and playful. Symbol did not only make the family happy, but others too! He was someone you could trust. Symbol, in most situations, could use his trust more than he needed to by using that trust to get information off the pony. He lived in Manehattan. It was a huge. City that Symbol wanted to explore. Tambour, his mother told him that it was too dangerous to go alone. What would the world be without danger.
His parents sent their self's to pick Symbol up. His father was named Drummer. Drummer was a band dad and never quits on his dreams of becoming famous. Drummers cutie mark was a drum. He was born from a band family. He was deceiving and could lie at anytime and you wouldn't know. Symbols mother was also born from a band family. Her cutie mark was of tambourines. Symbol for himself was a unicorn despite both of his parents being pegasi. He doesn't have his own cutie mark yet. He was also different from his family. Symbol was great in everything and had gotten more A's than his parents, math being his best.
Symbol started to wait for his mother and father. It was a warm afternoon with white clouds scattered across the sky. They both cared much about Symbol. Drummer and Tambour both always chose the safest options when letting him go places. He waited. "Hey, you!" Yelled Diamond Tiara.
Diamond Tiara was snooty and rich. She didn't care about anybody but herself. "Your parents told me that you could walk home today." She said
"They wouldn't say that!" Symbol told her sternly.
"Well they did and they told me to tell you." Diamond Tiara responded.
Symbol believed her surprisingly and started walking from the school house to Manehattan without questioning the pony. He walked to the Ponyvile train station many ponies were concerned to where his parents were. "Don't worry," he would say cheerfully. "I know where I'm going!"
He continued his journey with high hopes. "Hey! Hey!" Yelled a pony with enthusiasim.
Symbol turned around and what he saw with his eyes was a bright, happy, pink pony. She had curly pink hair with balloons for a cutie mark. "How ya doin'? Do you need something? Where are your parents? *GASP* are you alone?!"
Symbol continued to walk during the conversation. She had many questions! "My name is Pinkie Pie! What's yours?" She asked quickly.
Symbol replied as fast as he could. "Symbol!" He exclaimed.
"What are you doing here?"
"Going to Manehattan"
"Why?"
"Because that's where I live."
"That's interesting..."
She stopped walking and yelled in an enthusiastic voice, "Have a wonderful day."
He finally had some peace while walking. Symbol then noticed that the station was right in front of him. He started to run, run fast. He didn't want to be late. All of a sudden, two ponies walked out from the ally way between two houses. One had a cowboy hat on and the other had a bow. The pony standing off to the side was red haired and yellow while the bigger mare had blonde hair and was orange. She had a cutie mark of three apples. The tinier one was a blank flank. The bigger and taller one was pulling a cart, a huge cart, of apples. Symbol had been running too fast to slow down. He slid and skinned himself a little while also hitting the cart. "AAAAUGRH!" The adult pony yelled while she tumbled and hit her head on the ground, the giant pull part of the cart pulling her to the side as she fell.
"I'm so sorry!" Symbol yelled as he was recovering from the cut he got sliding and trying to avoid the cart.
The small philly quickly ran to make sure that the pony that fell was ok. "Apple Jack!" She yelled in a high tone. "Are you ok?"
As they spoke they looked at symbol and he did what would most likely help, he tried to push the cart over. Apple Jack got quickly unhitched by the smaller pony fairly quickly. As Symbol began to try to lift the cart the train came. "You," she pointed to Symbol when she came around to see him on the other side. "Can you hel..."
She stopped at words when she found him helping. Usually ponys passed up helping others but Symbol was different from other ponys. Apple Jack began to help him too. "What was that?" The smaller pony asked.
"I was going to go to the train station..." Symbol began to say.
'WOOO WOOOO'. The train had blown it's whistle. The cart toppled upward and then landed smoothly on the ground. "Gotta go!" Symbol said quickly.
"Wait!" The small pony yelled. "We didn't properly meet!"
Symbol brushed off the words and ran towards the train station along with the pain of the cut bleeding. The train started to creak and move, starting very slowly. I must catch that train! he thought to himself. Quickly he stepped up onto the wooden station and just jumped for his life, hoping there was a door open. The pain was quickly covered with the rush of adrenaline flowing through Symbols body.
Was this worth just going home? Was this legal? What if he failed? These questions were left unanswered because security didn't make sure that every door was closed and Symbol slid in with almost no problem. It was the last car on the train which made it almost remarkable. The cut burned at the sudden landing on hard wood. The train didn't stop and no one seemed to see what he did. On his way to Manehattan he went! It felt like a great and bad idea. He could adventure to see what the nature was like and he could go home finally be himself.
Symbol was in a storage car. Mostly a great place to search for anything. The car was red on top and brown and orange on the bottom. The entire interior was plain wood. It was dark on the sides with a floor of bright birch. The car was shaky and dangerous with everything moving but he had many items at his disposal.
Symbol didn't leave anything at his school. He brought journals and different things like pencils. This would be the perfect time to make a journal of his discoveries. He wrote:
Today, I found new places and different things too. I found out that places can be beautiful and interesting but there's always a layer of danger. Maybe Equestria isn't the most safe of places. Adventuring maybe isn't the most interesting with everything taking so long. Was this the best choice? Listening to Diamond Tiara might not have been my best move. Hopefully this is all worth it.
"If any pony got their hooves on this, we would all be dead." said Professor Einstein in a nervous fashion.
He set the tube down inside a flask holder. "Yes, indeed." Professor Green Dean said in agreement.
The lab was a nice bright while color, almost futuristic. The tables had tubes all over as well as about 5 sinks. The vile wasn't the only vile. Many other viles were scattered in different places with all of the viles containing a different substance. This 'vile' was filled with the most dangerous disease known to pony. A mix of different dangerous chemicals, it's called torence exilence.
Both after setting the vile down started trotting down the hallway to exit the lab. Of course leaving the vile containing a secret chemical inside would make it all the more dangerous. They quickly called the only pony that they could call. "Professor Derpy?" Professor Green Dean said through his phone. "Come to the lab."
He turned his phone off and they both proceeded down the hall to meet her. She flew over to them and then landed to listen to them. "What's the big ca-hoot?" She asked.
"We need you to watch the lab to the best of your ability." Stated Professor Einstein. "You were the only person we could choose."
"Alright..." She said.
She stared at the lab making sure everything was fine. Professor Einstein and Professor Green Dean began again to trot away. "Are you sure we can trust her with the disease?" Professor Green Dean said to professor Einstein.
"She was the only one available." Professor Einstein said in response. " Besides, she got through the test. She has to know what to do even if she's a newbie."
They took a quick right to the cafeteria, disappearing from Derpys' sight. As they entered the cafeteria the chatter of scientists and other professors grew louder. The cafeteria was a fairly large place and was the only different room that wasn't white. It was green with a tan floor. There were 3 rows of tables, each being 3 tables long. All of the scientists had used hoof sanitizer before entering for safety. Security was everywhere the scientists. These ponies were involved in secret government projects. No regulars who took the test and failed were taken kindly. There was also one main rule, no one leaves or talks about the facility. The facility was underground meaning that it was sealed tightly and guarded a lot. The bedrooms were also guarded and no one was aloud entry out of them unless ordered to or officially excused from them. Not even Equestrias' smartest scientists and professors were allowed out. Only government officials or specially trusted ponies were allowed ANYWHERE outside.
"Do you ever wonder about the outside?" asked Professor Green Dean.
Professor Einstein was in shock. It was in code that the scientists and professors all tell security about pony's who make questions about the outside but he was also curious about the topic. Einstein didn't want to get in trouble but he spoke anyway. "What about it?" He asked.
"Just in general"
"Well... I have wanted to see-"
Einstein got cut off in the middle of his sentence when getting grabbed from an unknown force. It was a strong pull and this caused him to be dragged swiftly towards a door. The same happened to Green Dean. The next thing that they remembered was being dragged before realizing that they were in a pitch black room. "NO!" Green Dean yelled. "NO, NO, NO. This cant be happening!"
Einstein was too shocked to speak as they heard a hiss. The room seemed to get heavier and darker. The two professors could feel the air getting heavier too. It became pitch black and all that was left was one final gasp and words from Einstein. His final words were:
Once was the day clear, now plagued.
The two bodies lay there on the floor along with all of the other bodies of victims, the only ponies that were in the middle were them.
------------------------------------
Derpy saw the vile, wondering what it had been filled with. The cork holding the substance inside. "What's this?" She asked herself.
As she picked up the vile she noticed no label on it, no note, anything. "No!" She told herself. "Not today!"
She was scared and interested in the strange substance. She put it in her lunch box and hurried into the cafeteria. She sped up and quickly skidded when coming to the edge of the first table in the second row. Ramming it, Derpy knocked scientists down and professors in the row, moving the tables. "HEY, CROSS-EYES!" One of the scientists yelled along with others, his being the most prominent. "LOOK AHEAD OF YOU NEXT TIME!"
"Sorry..." Derpy said softly.
She wasn't a fan-favorite of the facility. Derpy had her mistakes, a lot. As she sat down the other ponies slid over avoiding her. as she opened her lunch she saw that the vile had opened up because of the cool ice pack quickly making the vile slid out. The disease was a gas form. As soon as she opened her lunch box the disease entered and flowed through her nose and mouth. Everyone stared at her, watching how the gas flew into her like a ghost.
*Cough*
The first thing that happened to Derpy was a distinct cough. Every pony started to panic after they saw her choking and holding her neck. She couldn't breath, she couldn't stand. Derpy fell down with every pony trampling her. Other ponies that passed were quickly over taken by coughs. Derpy soon let out her last breath with a final cough. The bodies soon piled and many scientists and professors tried their hardest to get out. "CLOSE ALL THE DOORS!" Yelled the over mare who was watching this from a window into a microphone which then the doors started to close.
Many bodies were ground up between the doors. Either your hoofs got crushed, your head got crushed, or you were crushed in half. The scientists where to sick to scream. Limbs were thrown everywhere, red was smeared everywhere on the once clean windows. Some of the still alive scientists chose suicide instead. Guts splattered on the bodies and floor along with many other parts. Sadly, the virus had already infected the air. *Cough*
The over mare had coughed. She looked for the nearest sharp thing. As she was looking she saw security dying left right and center. She grabbed her coffee mug and proceeded to break it on the table. After that, she quickly stabbed herself in the throat. Blood dripped down from her neck and mouth, a gurgling sound started, then slowly proceeded to die. A sad end for ponies and a beginning of a epidemic, a plague.
