Honestly, Sassaflash had never thought it would go this far. That was what she thought nowadays whenever she looked at the state of her coltfriend, Caramel.
It had been just about six months now since Caramel had left his bed. Six months since he'd gotten too fat to even move under his own power. Now, he was bedridden—trapped by his own body.
He hadn't always been like this. Back when Sassaflash had first met Caramel, just about three years prior, he had actually been pretty lean and fit. He and Sassaflash had hit it off almost straight away, with Sassaflash even going as far as to move in with Caramel after a while. Caramel was everything Sassaflash could want in a coltfriend—polite, soft-spoken, loving, and pretty darn cute. In turn, Sassaflash was everything Caramel wanted in a marefriend—pretty, funny, and supportive.
And, as it turned out, a damned good cook.
Caramel had fallen in love with Sassaflash's cooking almost as much as he'd fallen in love with her, and Sassaflash was more than happy to indulge him with her culinary talents. They did say that the way to a stallion's heart was through his stomach, after all. Sassaflash took great pleasure in watching Caramel happily wolf down her carefully prepared meals for him, before enthusiastically asking for seconds. It gave her immense pride in her work.
However, as time went on, Caramel began to consume larger and larger portions, and he began to consume those portions more frequently. It wasn't long before his indulgence became evident on his belly and flanks, as both began to swell and fill out with excess calories. As the months went on, Caramel kept eating, Sassaflash kept cooking, and Caramel kept getting heavier. He gorged his way from chubby to plump, from plump to fat, and from fat to obese. As the weight continued to pile on, it started to affect him physically. He slowed from a walk to a waddle, becoming more tired and out of breath after walking shorter and shorter distances. Eventually, it was all he could do just to drag his massive bulk across the room, and he needed Sassaflash's help getting up stairs.
And to Sassaflash's surprise, she'd loved every minute of it. Nothing gave her more joy than to watch as Caramel kept right on eating and packing on the pounds. She enabled him; she'd raise her hooves and admit that. She hadn't force-fed him, but she'd never said no when he asked for more, either. Caramel, for his part, hadn't shown any interest in losing weight or going on a diet, and she hadn't pressed him on the matter. She'd just watched and enjoyed him stuffing his face and growing fatter and fatter.
Finally, the inevitable happened. Caramel became too fat to get out of bed. Now, Sassaflash wasn't just his marefriend, she was also his caretaker. She did just about everything for him; she brought him his many meals, she washed his numerous folds and rolls, she massaged him to prevent bedsores. To her surprise, Caramel had taken the loss of his mobility pretty much in his stride. In fact, a small part of her wondered if he'd actually wanted that all along.
She'd questioned him about it one night, about a week after he'd become bedbound. Sheepishly, he'd admitted that immobility was something he'd always hoped to achieve one day—it was his secret shame. That explained why he never suggested diet or exercise. Well, if that was what he wanted, who was Sassaflash to argue?
Of course, it didn't hurt that she rather enjoyed looking after him herself...
Thus was how they had mornings like this one. Sassaflash was the first to wake up, on her own separate bed—Caramel had long since grown large enough that he took up the double bed they used to share. She yawned, stretched and blinked the sleep out of her eyes, before snuggling down under the covers to enjoy a few minutes of drowsy peacefulness before she got up. While she did so, she took the opportunity to gaze over at her massive coltfriend.
Caramel lay sleeping peacefully on the bed, albeit with rather heavy breaths, his hefty stomach rising and falling as he snored. His belly drooped down far enough to cover up about a third of his useless hind legs, which had widened out with fat themselves, growing into a fine pair of thunder thighs. His capacious rump normally wasn't visible unless he rolled over for Sassaflash to wash his back, but his flanks could still be seen, along with his overblown cutie marks.
After watching him for a little bit, Sassaflash decided that now would be as good a time as any to wake him up. He'd be hungry for breakfast, after all. Stretching once more, she got out of bed and trotted to Caramel's bedside, gently poking a hoof into his fleshy side and watching his triple-chinned face for any sign of consciousness.
Caramel mumbled a couple of times, before slowly opening his eyes a crack, blinking as his mind woke up fully.
"Morning, sweetheart," Sassaflash said, leaning in to give his plump cheek a kiss. "Did you sleep okay?"
Yawning, Caramel coughed before smiling up at his caretaker. "Yeah, thanks." He reached out a flabby foreleg, inviting Sassaflash to take his hoof in her own. "That massage really helped relax me."
"I knew it would," Sassaflash smiled, gently rubbing Caramel's fetlock. "Are you ready for breakfast?"
In response, Caramel's stomach growled loudly. He blushed as Sassaflash laughed.
"I'll take that as a yes. How do pancakes and waffles sound?"
"Sounds great," he replied, licking his lips in anticipation. "Could you help me sit up?"
"Of course," Sassaflash replied, putting a foreleg around Caramel's shoulders while pressing a hoof into his flabby chest. With her help, Caramel was able to manoeuvre himself into a sitting position, panting slightly from the exertion.
"Comfy?" Sassaflash asked, to which Caramel nodded. "Alright, I'll have your food up here soon."
Caramel closed his eyes and relaxed as Sassaflash headed downstairs to get his breakfast ready. This was a task in and of itself—Caramel's seven hundred-pound body demanded a considerable amount of calories to keep itself going. By the time Sassaflash was done, she had a stack of about thirty pancakes and waffles, all glistening with butter and syrup, just the way Caramel liked them. Placing the food on a tray so that it formed a precariously teetering tower, Sassaflash carefully conveyed it upstairs to her ravenous ward.
"Here we are!" she said cheerfully, placing the tray down on Caramel's flabby chest.
"Oooh, baby," Caramel drooled, gazing at the calorie-laden tower before him. "Thanks, Sass."
"Do you want me to feed you?" Sassaflash asked.
Caramel shook his head. "No thanks, I've got it."
With that, Caramel began to stuff his face, while Sassaflash sat and admired him. Being able to raise his front hooves to his mouth was pretty much the extent of his mobility, other than being able to roll over with Sassaflash's help. Still, he often liked having Sassaflash feed him herself, either because he was too tired, too lazy, or they just felt like it. Other times, like now, he'd just messily gorge himself on his food. He ate with great relish, licking his hooves and lips to pick up any stray bits of syrup or butter that may have escaped his maw. Sassaflash always enjoyed watching the way his chins and jowls wobbled as he consumed his massive meals. It was almost hypnotic, in a way.
As he ate, syrup stains began to form on his lips and face, as well as butter dribbling down his chins and pooling between his flabby pecs. Sassaflash was well aware of her coltfriend's messy eating habits, and was already in the bathroom getting ready to clean him off.
Fetching a bucket from underneath the sink, she proceeded to fill it with warm water, before mixing in some soap until she had a good lather in there. She also grabbed a towel, cloth and sponge, before heading back out. If she'd timed it right, Caramel would just be finishing his breakfast when she reentered the bedroom.
As usual, she'd timed it to perfection, arriving just in time to see Caramel slide the last morsel of waffle past his plump lips. Gods, but he was a fast eater. Thirty pancakes and waffles, and it had taken him no more than ten minutes to polish them all off.
Sighing happily, his face and chest covered in syrup, Caramel closed his eyes and allowed his forelegs to flip to his side, his monstrous gut churning away below him as it worked on digesting his breakfast feast. Sassaflash could hear it gurgling and sloshing even from where she stood. A mischievous smile crossed her face as she stepped up to Caramel and climbed atop him, straddling him as she placed a hoof on his soft mountain of belly fat. Beginning to rub in little circles, she began to press her hoof deeper down, until she gave Caramel's stomach a good push.

The resulting belch that erupted from Caramel's mouth carried enough force to blow a few strands of Sassaflash's mane out of her eyes. She giggled as Caramel blushed deeply.
"Caramel!" she said in a tone of faux-outrage. "How could you?"
"Y-you did that on purpose!" Caramel retorted, starting to laugh himself. Smiling, Sassaflash leaned forward and gave him a kiss on his syrup-stained lips.
"Alright, baby," she said after breaking the kiss. "Let's get you cleaned up."
Dunking the cloth in the bucket, she brought it to Caramel's face and began to gently wipe away the stains he'd accumulated from his feasting. Caramel's cheeks wobbled as the cloth moved over them, his fur beginning to show through the dark red stains once more. Once she was done with his face and chins, Sassaflash set down the cloth and picked up the sponge. With that, she began to scrub at Caramel's flabby chest, lifting up his pecs to get at any stains that may have sneaked their way down here. Caramel couldn't stop himself from giggling and squirming—it always tickled when Sassaflash did that.
Sassaflash smiled and placed a hoof under Caramel's chins. "You're enjoying this, aren't you?" she asked softly.
Caramel nodded. "Mmhmm. I love how you look after me like this, Sass. You know, since I can't really do anything myself..."
Sassaflash gave him a peck on the cheek. "It's alright, sweetie. I'm here for you."
Taking up the sponge once more, she started washing in between the numerous rolls and folds of Caramel's belly, including lifting it up and scrubbing around his crotch. That area was particularly tricky to maintain. Since penetrative sex had long since become an impossibility, Sassaflash had taken to hoofjobs and blowjobs to relieve Caramel's sexual tension. Unfortunately, this had the side effect of leaving him unable to clean himself off when she was done, even with her lapping most of it up, meaning that there was always a crusty mess waiting for her the next day. If she was being honest with herself, wiping off Caramel's dried-up splooge was not a job she enjoyed. Still, she had to take the bad as well as the good.
Once done there, she moved on to scrubbing his pits and forelegs. As she worked, she relished in just how wonderfully warm and soft Caramel was... like the world's biggest teddy bear. Dear Celestia, she loved him—all seven hundred pounds of him.
For his part, Caramel was really enjoying himself, too. Even if he had lost his mobility, he felt that what he got in return more than compensated for it. The feeling of closeness and security in having his marefriend take care of him, feed him, clean him... there was no feeling like it.
"Okay, Cara, we're almost done," Sassaflash said, after scrubbing under his forelegs. "I just need to do your back now. Ready?"
Caramel nodded. "Ready."
Sassaflash placed her hooves on Caramel's fleshy side. "One... two... three!"
Caramel groaned as he shifted his weight to the side, at the same time as Sassaflash started pushing with all her strength. With a combination of his momentum and her pushing, they managed to get him laying on his side. Now, his colossal rump and back rolls were on display. Grinning, Sassaflash leaned forward and gave one of his huge, quivering cheeks a hearty slap.
"Yow!" Caramel yelped. "Don't do that!"
"Sorry, babe," Sassaflash giggled. "Couldn't resist." She took the sponge to Caramel's rump and started cleaning again, grimacing slightly as she slid it in between his cheeks. Each movement of the sponge sent his flab off rippling tantalisingly. From there, she moved on to scrubbing in between his back rolls, pausing to dislodge what turned out to be an old cookie trapped between two of them. Finally, she gave the backs of his plump thighs a good going over, removing any sweat stains that may have accumulated there.
"There!" she said cheerfully, setting the sponge down. "All done. Let's get you dried off."
Caramel sighed happily once more as the warm, soft towel moved all around him, leaving him feeling as fresh and clean as the towel itself had been after coming out of the dryer. "Thanks, Sass," he said, yawning.
"Any time, sweetie," Sassaflash replied, giving him another kiss on the cheek. "What do you wanna do now?"
"Eh... I think I'm just going to take a nap," Caramel mumbled. "Will you stay with me for a bit?"
"Of course," Sassaflash said, climbing onto Caramel's bed and resting her head on his soft belly fat. It wasn't long before Caramel's breaths gave way to soft snores, and Sassaflash soon found herself following suit. And so the supersized stallion and his doting marefriend slept peacefully together, snoozing out the hours until Caramel's next feast.
