Life in Canterlot is some nice. i trot to the door and answer it. "Letter for Nova Burst?" The Mail Mare says to me as i close the door taking the letter. i crack it open with my horn. levitation, first spell, basic yet effective for day to day living. "Dear Nova Burst, Now it's your time to go out in the actual world. Go out into the world and discover just how much more of a colt you have become. through the path we state you will finally know where you belong. there is a new princess we have gathered that lives in ponyville. we would actually like you to go there. we want you to go to her for lessons on friendship. Your Loving Mother." Great, now I gotta move again, like school here wasn't going to be hard to do as it was. I just got accepted into the Canterlot Pyrotechnics classes and Canterlot College. I've never been social in the general term. Whether it is just for Internet or just on the street. I let the letter set on the table in my living room. I cast my levitation spell once more, grabbing my simple leather jacket. It's always a little nippier when it starts to come time for hearths warming. The running of the leaves wasn't long ago. Apparently there was a ruckus in ponyville back a few seasons ago. Apparently the pegasus and earth pony who placed last, were the two most athletic in that seasons race. It's rather ironic. How does the two most athletic ponies lose the race? Either way this isn't what want to think of right now. I look in the mirror, putting on my red squared-off shades. I smirk into the mirror just to glance at my cutiemark, the rainbow firework. The cutiemark presented itself long ago on my two toned blue coated flank. i found so much joy in that item. That's way back when i invented a spell to cast golden fireworks. I trot out into the street. all of these high class pain in the flank rich ponies all walking by. They all wear their expensive couture, now popularly bought from Canterlot Carousel Boutique, owned by the only miss Rarity unicorn. It all started because of Princess Twilight's new coronation. the fact she wore it drove everyone into a blitz. Now the shop bustles for other reasons. I walk by and wave at Sassy. Me and her used to open new dress shops across canterlot. My fireworks displays were well-known, even though I am not somepony, anypony would talk to. I'm rather quiet for a unicorn. I trot by the cabbies, the mares and the colts. all through this city, so many ponies and yet i feel still, so Lonely. I remember back when i was just a young colt. Before Twilight was seen by Celestia, I too Got into the classes Twilight did. Though she took them personally from Princess Celestia. I wish I was so lucky. I remember watching twilight trying so hard to learn every spell she could. She was actually not good at all at one time. I trot into the train station and purchase a ticket from the vendor. It's weird i can actually do this let alone live, I don't say anything to anypony. I simply highlight what I want in magic. There only ever was one mare I talked to, that was Twilight. Although, as odd as it seems, i look down to my ticket. It isn't for Ponyville. It's... To the Crystal Empire? What in the hay?! "Miss." rolls out of my lips in a slight bit of rage. I havent opened my mouth to anypony in a few years. "Yes Sir?" the vendor asks. "You gave me the wrong ticket." I add. "Well let me fix that for you." "Ponyville." "Oh wow, I sent you in the wrong direction sorry." "It's fine, just take this back and send me for Ponyville on the next train." I say to the golden haired mare who is trying to run the train station. "Here." She hoofs it over to me. I trot and look at the time on the ticket. "FOR PONIES SAKE!" Comes out roaring from me. My eyes best deceive me. I take off my shades and pull out my reading glasses. No, my eyes do not decieve me. The next train is in an hour. I have too much to do right now. I need to pack. Oh somepony kill me. I trot wildly towards my apartment and everything starts packing itself when i walk through my door. i keep hearing myself singing in the tune of campton races, but instead it would read out, 'gotta pack, gotta pack, gotta pack pack pack'. I rush through everything until its all in suitcases in nothing. They all lay on the floor. I lift all the bags with my levitation spell as I walk down the street. As I gallop to the station i realize i have ten minutes until the train leaves. Why must i always put myself into these tiresome situations. I guess it is simply a habit. I let my luggage go on the station platform as i begin tagging everything with the address at my apartment, in case it can't make it this trip. i quickly trot aboard giving my ticket out to be punched. i can't believe i have so much to do. right now, i will have to wait. i have to go and talk to twilight.... but how? after so long since we saw each other, i know she probably wouldn't remember me, seeing i was the smallest colt in the class. though she was nice. The train whirrs and hoots as i hear the track beneath it crack along the way. The skies over ponyville seem to be dissipating at a rather unusual rate. i have actually never seen anything like that. i glance down watching my reflection quietly. i put my red shades once more with magic. this is gonna be a long trip. i better doze a bit. i close my eyes and sigh. quickly sleep hits me. -----------------------------------------------------------------The Dream------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ i open my eyes and become indulged in a purple mist. The dark blue mare approaches me. Immediately i recognize her and bow. She nods and smiles understanding i was but a quiet colt. "Nova, your life will soon change." Luna speaks softly. her cutiemark glowing from some kind of light. i can't explain it, its a dream. "What do you mean, Princess?" I ask her in concern. "Well, You will no longer be the quiet colt you are." She says. " Ponyville is a good place, your mother was right to send you there." She adds. "Though, i do believe you will even learn one of the most valuable of things." Luna finishes and dissipates into the mist. it then turns white and begins to burn with reds. "What could she mean?" i say amoungst myself. "Well, I couldn't tell you, she could mean anything." a similar voice calls to me, the voice i thought had a higher and a more ringing sound before. I turn around. "Twilight?" I ask. "Yep, your dream, you saw my coronation. sooo, yeah I guess i'm acting based on how you remember me." She said Blankly. "Well, that's fair." I say. "It doesn't matter if it's fair, it's fact!" she says with a wide grin. she always was one to like being smart. she was such a bookworm, she wasn't actually social. she was always the quiet one, much like myself. i guess her studies could have made her more social. i mean, especially seeing she is a princess now. oh.. that's right... she's a princess. I am not that variety of pony... im just a common colt... this is going to be just a lesson then. alright, i guess i can deal with that. "Fair enough." I say sheepishly. "Don't like it now cause you know your dreaming now, right?" "Pretty much Twi." I reply. It feels like it's been hours. longest most awkward dream with Twilight in it, i have ever had. i guess im nervous to become an understudy of sorts. Ah well. ---------------------------------------------The Train----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I wake up rubbing my glasses into my eyes with my hooves. must admit, not my brightest idea. i feel the glasses dig into my snout and end up sneezing. i look out the window and see ponyville coming up to me. the buildings and small town style, i love it. this will be much more relaxed then Canterlot. I see in the station, a pink mare is walking by and a blue pegasus following along. i glance up and see a grey mailmare with golden hair. she actually, was kind of cute. the crossed eyes she carried was just, right it seemed. I trot to the doorway of the train. i trot off onto the platform. I sigh and adjust my collar. Now Forward, unto ponyville! Author's Note I begin writing this book right now, because of an original unicorn character i invented, Nova Burst. he is known for his fireworks abilities. ____ EDIT____ Sorry i had to unpublish this i wanted to be certain i had the first chapter resolved properly for me. this was not satisfactory for me and so now, i have more added. i just want to provide my best hoof forward in this story. Chapter 2I adjust my shades. I can't help but feel nervous. The bags I packed, only half made it with me this time. I see the pink mare walking happily with the blue pegasus, they approach my direction and I get weak inside. I quickly start trotting in the same direction. I want AWAY from ponies. Especially ones I never talked to. This feeling is a regular thing for me. Anxiety kicks my flank. it kind of pushes me away until i trip over a rock and glance up. the whole feeling has birds flying around my head. "Hey, you alright there?" I head a raspy voice chat to me. right after i look and see the Blue one looking at me. she has a rainbow mane, i never even met her before. though i admit, she does have a certain charisma about her. "Y-yeah, thanks for asking." Fumbles out of my mouth. Suddenly the pink pony dashes right at me and I duck. the pink streak leaves rather impossibly fast. "So yeah, new to ponyville there Poindexter?" The rainbow maned mare says with a nervous smile. "Y-yeah, I-I'm Nova. Nova Burst." I say pulling my red shades from my face. My emerald toned eyes reveal themselves. "Well, Nova, I'm Rainbow Dash." She says confidently flying with a hoof in her own chest. "I know who you are, Rainbow Dash." I say, opening one of my bags and showing her the newspaper about her race against the Orange mare, Applejack. "So, I take it your a fan?" She says looking like she was relieved. "Nope. Not a fan. i just like to see what makes everypony enjoy certain aspects of life." I ring out cheerily. i can feel my reserve go away. she already has pryed my anxiety away. Not many ponies have ever done that. Not even my own mother. "Oh, Okay, so, anything I can help ya out with?" Rainbow says to me. i glance behind me with all of my floating luggage and I haven't broken a sweat yet. "Uhhh, Have a place to crash?" She asks. "Actually no," It hits me. i was supposed to look for a place to stay before getting here. "I got caught up in the moving process." "Well come with me, I think I know just the mare, she would have the space." She says. "A-alright," Rolls out of my once more fumbling mouth, meeting all of these ponies already has my anxiety through the roof. "But if she cant take me, thats fine i can figure out something." I say walking as I follow the blue mare, my neck getting rubbed by my hoof. "Okay Nova, I'm gonna just be a sec." She says as she flies into the castle made from crystals. I feel the realization hit me like a ton of bricks. "This, is Princess Twilight's home...." I start shaking in my spot while I wait for Rainbow Dash. It feels like it's been hours, so i put my bags down, starting to clap my hoof into the ground, almost like a miserable attempt to dig. I wait. It feels even longer. Wait Nova, Twilight lives here, just wait like Rainbow Dash told you to. It'll all turn out. Oh dear, but what if i can't talk. What will happen if i just be myself. I must admit, I always have been a goofy awkward mess. Stop. I take a deep breath and close my eyes. i find myself casting a silence bubble, but I fail. I don't have the book on me. "If only i had a copy of-" and suddenly i hear someone call out the rest of my sentence. "Magic for beginners? Am I right, It certainly was helpful." i hear that nasal voice ring through to me. i shake as i turn around, a big smile on my face. "Twilight!" I burst into a rocket of accelerated energy. Then I stop mid-air, nervously chuckling. "Long time no see. Hah, Hah." the laugh becoming a nervous reflex. "I'm Sorry?" The words roll from her tongue and it just kills me on the inside. She doesn't remember me. "Nevermind." Falls out from my mouth. Literally, falls. I can hear the weight in the word. "Anyhoof. My Brother and his wife are coming in from the Crystal Empire, so I cannot host you tonight." She says. I still smile. "That's fine, Princess." I bow and the sweat rolls down. I should have bowed earlier on. "Please, It's Twilight." Boom! the butterflies zip right through me once more, like an ignited fire just bursting with lively flames. "I-I'm Nova, Nova Burst." I shakily say as I put my hoof up to shake hers. "Well now that you two are introduced, can we go see if A.J. has a place for him to crash?" Rainbow interrupts. "If theres anypony i know, It would be A.J." Twilight says. "Then to Sweet Apple Acres!" Rainbow says excitedly. "T-thanks Fillies." I say. "No sweat." "Well that's perhaps from your point of view, Rainbow." Twilight says. They briefly argue about who is seeing things right. I quietly endure, picking up my luggages with my levitation spell. sighing. i hear them argue for about five minutes. Now I know I'm just a new colt in town but, i can't hold my muzzle any longer. "Shut up!" Roars out from my lips as i cast a firework from my horn between them both. It explodes infront of them into a burning rainbow toned stream. "HEY!" Rainbow screams out. "What was that for?!" Twilight shouts at me. "You guys are arguing. I heard enough of that before from my mother!" I huff. "Wait... your mother.. She wasn't of the Royal Guard was she?" "Yeah, Twilight, She was." I reply. "Wait, so that makes you, the famous fireworks maker." she exclaims. "Yeah, I guess that is me. i am Nova Burst, Pyrotechnics specialist." It rolls right out from my mouth. "You helped out with the wedding of Cadence and Shining Armour." She adds. "Yea." "Wait, so the fireworks after my rainboom was made by you?" Rainbow adds herself in. "Yeah, that was me." i say. "Well Nova, Tomorrow night i will have my home free again, if you want, you can stay with myself and spike." she says. "That'd be an honor, Twilight. Though, I am still surprised you don't remember me from magic kindergarden." I add. "Huh?" Rainbow is flying and confused. "You two were in the same class?" "Yeah," I start. " Was some of the most fun filled days of my life." "Really?" Twilight replied." Worst days for me." "The only reason they picked on you twilight, was because thats what kids do. just as they did with me." I push her lower hind leg with my forehoof smiling. "I guess so." She replies. "Here we are, Sweet apple Acres." Rainbow bursts out. Author's Note Well, this part, i found was inspired by the fan fiction, Vinyl and Octavia: University Days. this chapter has beeen produced with all of my goofy lovey dovey stuff in my being. so i have to get the urge to write out of my system until the excitement goes away! This Chapter, Our Colt, Nova Burst, is on the adventure to finding a place to stay. He forgot to find out where he could crash in town. ((There is a reference to one of my favourite songs in here. catch it and let me know, because i want to see if anypony noticed it. As i am alll Dash, Twili and lets not forget my favourite musical mare, Vinyl Scratch)) Chapter 3I look around and see the emerald green leaves and ruby red apples hanging around the orchard. I see an orange mare in the distance with a crimson red pony, each having their own set of floating green eyes. the mare having lighter toned green than the red colt, but they looked related. The little yellow filly seemed bouncing with excitement on her way into the farmhouse. i glance over slightly as the farmhouse door remains open. i see a green old timer napping in a rocking chair. i look up to twilight as she is humming and looking over for somepony. her excitement shows because as she lifts her hoof to point out somepony, rainbow dash is already gone. I can hear twilight giggle from rainbow dash rushing. "She's a quick one eh, Twilight?" i say smirking. "Yep, Fastest filly in equestria." She replied. "Kinda like how your the smartest pony in equestria?" I say as i look down, cheeks feeling warm. i know all too well i have fallen under her grace once more. my face shows it in all shades of red. "Well, i wouldnt say the smartest in all of equestria. but i am smart." She says. "Twilight, take it from a colt who knows." I say. "What do you mean by a colt who knows?" her eyes dart to me and i can't help but turn deep in my cheeks. "W-well, i was the smartest in my class, until you came along." I reply. "Well I still am not smartest in all of equestria." She says. "Take the damn compliment Twilight." I huff as I look away. "Woah, okay there hothead, hold your horses." She says. i can hear the strain in her voice. "And thanks." She adds. "Hey y'all. Rainbow here was just tellin' me you have a stallion who needs a place to stay?" the orange mare comes to us, my distraction had not noted her approaching. "Yea, this stallion, Nova, needs a place to crash tonight. i have him tomorrow. Cadence and Shining leave for the crystal empire tomorrow, so i can take him, but, tonight, would you be kind as to take him? It's only so he can find a place. seems this stallion is a little bit forgetful." Twilight comes back. "I am, right here!" i say sighing. "Sure as Sugar ya can stay with us, if ya dont mind the barn, we can have her fixed up, we dont have any rooms in the farmhouse though." She says to me. i can't believe it already, the orange mare is being so kind and generous and surprisingly hasnt even asked anything. "Thanks, uhh, i am going to guess you are applejack, the one who raced rainbow dash a couple years back." I say." read about you two in the paper in canterlot." "Well, if your from Canterlot, Nova, I would ease Rarity into knowing. she does get a little bit carried away by the thought of it." Twilight laughs. "Huh?" "You'll see when ya meet her." Applejack says. "Well, i'm going to go home, tank needs a cleaning tonight. Then bed." Rainbow says as she flies off. "See ya!" Calls out Applejack. "Bye Rainbow!" twilight calls to Rainbow Dash. i simply drag my hoof in the ground. "Thanks." i say shyly. now im with ponies i dont know again. twilight i know, but its always been awkward for me to be with her and not able to think about what to say. "So, Dash said you know Twilight from a while back?" Applejacks emerald eyes peer over to me. i turn my head in realization. "Yeah, come on by say, midday?" She says back smiling. "Sure." I smile. immediately looks to Applejack. "See ya 'round sugar cube." Applejack says before twilight has a chance to speak. all twilight does is nod and fly off. "So, Applejack." i say. immediately her muzzle is before mine. "If ya lay one single hoof on her tomorrow, i will castrate ya. ya hear?" she says, her brows furrowed. "Yes." i say. "Completely. I just don't think i'd even stand a chance to begin with. So you don't have to worry a bit." i add. "Why do ya feel that way?" She actually seems sincere. "Well..." i look at her. "I'm not sure to say." i say. "Well, she isn't like most ponies, she ain't gonna rely on no reputation, jus' 'cause she's a princess, don't mean she ain't gonna take a likin' to ya." She says. "Thanks, but i don't find that easy to believe." i reply. "Trust me, if she has anythin' fer ya, she'll end up sayin' so." she says and smiles. "How's about we go have a cup of cider, get to know one another better?" She offers. "Please, would be the first drink since i got here." i chuckle. Applejack and I walk into the farmhouse. "Nova, this is Applebloom, Big Mac and not to mention Granny Smith." she points out the ponies i noticed outside. "Hey, it's a pleasure to meet you all." i simply nod and smile. "I appreciate the hospitality." "No problem young feller." the older green mare says to me. i'm assuming that is granny. "Eyup." Comes out of the big red colt. I'm Guessing thats why they call him 'Big' mac. The guy is a giant! "You stayin' for supper?" the little yellow filly says to me. "Yup." Rolls out of my mouth. Oh lord. How bad of a mistake to make. I hope i don't get a hoof in my face for that. They all burst out laughing. "What?" i say nervously. "You gotta be shy like big mac, i can see you two gettin' along just fine." Applejack says as she goes to the kitchen. I could see the cabinetry and the table inside the room. "Sooo...." i try to think of something to say. AppleBloom stares at me with these big round eyes. it almost is like seeing a dog begging for something you have. "Uh, you all run this farm on your own?" I ask. "Eyup." Big Mac says. it seems like he is rather monotone. ah well. "Actually, Big Mac and Applejack do the usual apple bucking and farm work. i am still in school though and granny runs the zap apple harvest times and baking when we all are out." Applebloom leaves herself panting from the big amount of words in one sentence. who knew a filly could talk so fast. Author's Note WOOHOOO! 8 Hours on the net and its got my first two favourites. i figured this would be a reason to write this more. but i hope so far you all enjoyed it. if you guys catch the refences i make in the fanfic i thank you for seeing my bland humor. A little tidbit for you, about nova burst. he was invented because i found out my OC, Lightning Blaze, Was a "mary sue". as lightning burst was an alicorn from before luna was banished to the moon, and way before celestia had rule. i made nova to be my side of me, that i found could best relate to twilight. though, later on you will meet other original characters of mine, Such as, Burning Night (Has a twitter page called MLP_BURNING that is now inactive.) along side with the secret earth pony mare i have as another side of me, who is supposed to be my counterpart of applejack. Nova, was the top of his class, until twilight came along. now, he is second best. i know this sounds weird, but his favourite passtime- Fireworks! Thumbs up if you like this story please. i notice alot of thumbs down. but let me get into the later chapters... this is only the third... i intend on this being a fair lengthed book. Chapter 4Oh Celestia save me.I think to myself. This filly just doesn't know when to shut her yap. I've sat here for all of five minutes and honestly, I don't think she's breathing. Where is Applejack anyway? Crosses through my mind. All I can do, for once in my life, is not get a word in. Well, not being capable is more like it. I know I'm a quiet colt. "Aha!" I burst out in excitement. "What?" Applebloom looks up at me, puzzled gaze on her face. "I just figured out a way i can pass time with Twilight tomorrow night. I can see if she learned Haycartes reading method already!" I say excitedly. "I'm glad I learned it. When I was younger, just before I got my cutiemark, actually." I smile remembering how I freaked out from that rainbow stride across that blue sky. Actually, now that I think of it... Wasn't that the same day that she got her cutiemark? "Wait, the rainbow stride? You can't mean you saw Rainbow Dashes sonic rainboom too do ya?" She asks. "Say what now?" Applejack says as she comes around the corner with cider in her hooves. Walking up to me, handing me one. "Thanks." I say. "and what I was saying earlier is i think myself and twilight got our cutiemark on the same day." I added. "Doesn't that mean you and Pinkie, Rainbow, Fluttershy and Rarity got your cutiemarks on the same day?" Applebloom says looking up to her big sister. "I can't believe it, but it seems so." I say. "Well hold onto your apples there a second." Applejack says to me. "We all got tied together by a rainboom, and i heard ya talkin' 'bout that too." She adds. "Why is that important?" Rolls out from my mouth. "Well, we all saw that rainboom and we represent the elements of harmony. The elements came from the tree of harmony. We all got our cutiemarks at the same time. We all figured out our destinies based on that single event an' now you get here. you have a same thing in common as us, so what's that mean?" She starts thinking deeply. I can tell just by the look on her face. she is really, really thinking on this. "I'd say there may be yet another connection due to the occurrence seeing as you all have experienced it." I drop my luggage not realizing I had run the spell so long, yawning now. I chuckle and rub the back of my neck. "Well, I guess so. Twilight would know best." She nods as she says it. "Oh, Let me and big mac take care of yer luggage and bring it to the barn fer ya." She offers. "Nah, I can take care of it thanks. Just gonna give my horn a break." I rub it gently as I know it's done its hard work for a bit. "Well, if you say so." Applejack says with doubt in her voice. "I'll be fine really." I say. "At least let big mac carry some for ya when he shows ya a good spot to rest up in there." She persists. "Alright." I give in. She is about as stubborn as a mule. "So I'll show ya the guest room." Big Mac says. he picks up half of my luggage without a sweat. I really hope he doesn't kill me if I offend him. I think to myself. I use my horn once more. I feel the magic working and I carry my half of the luggage. Big Mac leads me out to the barn, taking me up a set of stairs. I can't believe my eyes, but it actually is a full fledged bedroom. "I used to sleep out here when i wanted away from AJ and Granny. Hope you find it comfortable." He says. "Well, Thanks man." I say back. " Rainbow dash seems a little extreme from what i saw." i add. "Eyup." He nods. "You seen it too?" I say. "Eyup." "You don't talk much do you?" "Ehhnope." "Alright." I place my luggage on the barn floor. I see Big Mac setting the rest beside it. "Look, Nova." He says. "Yeah Big Mac?" "I know how it feels to be shy, so, I guess what I'm saying is if ya feel alone, come see me, I'll be happy to hang out sometime." "Thanks Big Mac. I'll be sure to come by, but for now, I think it's time i hit the hay." I look out the window into the lowering sun and raising of the moon. I look throughout the room. A bed with a red and green quilt on it lays in the corner. This just look uncomfortable and yet, welcoming. I cant help but rest in the hay bales for a bit. I still can't believe tomorrow I spend the night with Twilight. I don't know what to expect from it. Are we going to end up studying like she used to do beforehand? Is she even the same filly I knew?

Apparently there was a ruckus in ponyville back a few seasons ago. Apparently the pegasus and earth pony who placed last, were the two most athletic in that seasons race. It's rather ironic. How does the two most athletic ponies lose the race? Either way this isn't what want to think of right now. I look in the mirror, putting on my red squared-off shades. I smirk into the mirror just to glance at my cutiemark, the rainbow firework. The cutiemark presented itself long ago on my two toned blue coated flank. i found so much joy in that item. That's way back when i invented a spell to cast golden fireworks. I trot out into the street. all of these high class pain in the flank rich ponies all walking by. They all wear their expensive couture, now popularly bought from Canterlot Carousel Boutique, owned by the only miss Rarity unicorn. It all started because of Princess Twilight's new coronation. the fact she wore it drove everyone into a blitz. Now the shop bustles for other reasons. I walk by and wave at Sassy. Me and her used to open new dress shops across canterlot. My fireworks displays were well-known, even though I am not somepony, anypony would talk to. I'm rather quiet for a unicorn. I trot by the cabbies, the mares and the colts. all through this city, so many ponies and yet i feel still, so Lonely. I remember back when i was just a young colt. Before Twilight was seen by Celestia, I too Got into the classes Twilight did. Though she took them personally from Princess Celestia. I wish I was so lucky. I remember watching twilight trying so hard to learn every spell she could. She was actually not good at all at one time. I trot into the train station and purchase a ticket from the vendor. It's weird i can actually do this let alone live, I don't say anything to anypony. I simply highlight what I want in magic. There only ever was one mare I talked to, that was Twilight. Although, as odd as it seems, i look down to my ticket. It isn't for Ponyville. It's... To the Crystal Empire? What in the hay?! "Miss." rolls out of my lips in a slight bit of rage. I havent opened my mouth to anypony in a few years. "Yes Sir?" the vendor asks. "You gave me the wrong ticket." I add. "Well let me fix that for you." "Ponyville." "Oh wow, I sent you in the wrong direction sorry." "It's fine, just take this back and send me for Ponyville on the next train." I say to the golden haired mare who is trying to run the train station. "Here." She hoofs it over to me. I trot and look at the time on the ticket. "FOR PONIES SAKE!" Comes out roaring from me. My eyes best deceive me. I take off my shades and pull out my reading glasses. No, my eyes do not decieve me. The next train is in an hour. I have too much to do right now. I need to pack. Oh somepony kill me. I trot wildly towards my apartment and everything starts packing itself when i walk through my door. i keep hearing myself singing in the tune of campton races, but instead it would read out, 'gotta pack, gotta pack, gotta pack pack pack'. I rush through everything until its all in suitcases in nothing. They all lay on the floor. I lift all the bags with my levitation spell as I walk down the street. As I gallop to the station i realize i have ten minutes until the train leaves. Why must i always put myself into these tiresome situations. I guess it is simply a habit. I let my luggage go on the station platform as i begin tagging everything with the address at my apartment, in case it can't make it this trip. i quickly trot aboard giving my ticket out to be punched. i can't believe i have so much to do. right now, i will have to wait. i have to go and talk to twilight.... but how? after so long since we saw each other, i know she probably wouldn't remember me, seeing i was the smallest colt in the class. though she was nice. The train whirrs and hoots as i hear the track beneath it crack along the way. The skies over ponyville seem to be dissipating at a rather unusual rate. i have actually never seen anything like that. i glance down watching my reflection quietly. i put my red shades once more with magic. this is gonna be a long trip. i better doze a bit. i close my eyes and sigh. quickly sleep hits me. -----------------------------------------------------------------The Dream------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ i open my eyes and become indulged in a purple mist. The dark blue mare approaches me. Immediately i recognize her and bow. She nods and smiles understanding i was but a quiet colt. "Nova, your life will soon change." Luna speaks softly. her cutiemark glowing from some kind of light. i can't explain it, its a dream. "What do you mean, Princess?" I ask her in concern. "Well, You will no longer be the quiet colt you are." She says. " Ponyville is a good place, your mother was right to send you there." She adds. "Though, i do believe you will even learn one of the most valuable of things." Luna finishes and dissipates into the mist. it then turns white and begins to burn with reds. "What could she mean?" i say amoungst myself. "Well, I couldn't tell you, she could mean anything." a similar voice calls to me, the voice i thought had a higher and a more ringing sound before. I turn around. "Twilight?" I ask. "Yep, your dream, you saw my coronation. sooo, yeah I guess i'm acting based on how you remember me." She said Blankly. "Well, that's fair." I say. "It doesn't matter if it's fair, it's fact!" she says with a wide grin. she always was one to like being smart. she was such a bookworm, she wasn't actually social. she was always the quiet one, much like myself. i guess her studies could have made her more social. i mean, especially seeing she is a princess now. oh.. that's right... she's a princess. I am not that variety of pony... im just a common colt... this is going to be just a lesson then. alright, i guess i can deal with that. "Fair enough." I say sheepishly. "Don't like it now cause you know your dreaming now, right?" "Pretty much Twi." I reply. It feels like it's been hours. longest most awkward dream with Twilight in it, i have ever had. i guess im nervous to become an understudy of sorts. Ah well. ---------------------------------------------The Train----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I wake up rubbing my glasses into my eyes with my hooves. must admit, not my brightest idea. i feel the glasses dig into my snout and end up sneezing. i look out the window and see ponyville coming up to me. the buildings and small town style, i love it. this will be much more relaxed then Canterlot. I see in the station, a pink mare is walking by and a blue pegasus following along. i glance up and see a grey mailmare with golden hair. she actually, was kind of cute. the crossed eyes she carried was just, right it seemed. I trot to the doorway of the train. i trot off onto the platform. I sigh and adjust my collar. Now Forward, unto ponyville! Author's Note I begin writing this book right now, because of an original unicorn character i invented, Nova Burst. he is known for his fireworks abilities. ____ EDIT____ Sorry i had to unpublish this i wanted to be certain i had the first chapter resolved properly for me. this was not satisfactory for me and so now, i have more added. i just want to provide my best hoof forward in this story.
Chapter 2I adjust my shades. I can't help but feel nervous. The bags I packed, only half made it with me this time. I see the pink mare walking happily with the blue pegasus, they approach my direction and I get weak inside. I quickly start trotting in the same direction. I want AWAY from ponies. Especially ones I never talked to. This feeling is a regular thing for me. Anxiety kicks my flank. it kind of pushes me away until i trip over a rock and glance up. the whole feeling has birds flying around my head. "Hey, you alright there?" I head a raspy voice chat to me. right after i look and see the Blue one looking at me. she has a rainbow mane, i never even met her before. though i admit, she does have a certain charisma about her. "Y-yeah, thanks for asking." Fumbles out of my mouth. Suddenly the pink pony dashes right at me and I duck. the pink streak leaves rather impossibly fast. "So yeah, new to ponyville there Poindexter?" The rainbow maned mare says with a nervous smile. "Y-yeah, I-I'm Nova. Nova Burst." I say pulling my red shades from my face. My emerald toned eyes reveal themselves. "Well, Nova, I'm Rainbow Dash." She says confidently flying with a hoof in her own chest. "I know who you are, Rainbow Dash." I say, opening one of my bags and showing her the newspaper about her race against the Orange mare, Applejack. "So, I take it your a fan?" She says looking like she was relieved. "Nope. Not a fan. i just like to see what makes everypony enjoy certain aspects of life." I ring out cheerily. i can feel my reserve go away. she already has pryed my anxiety away. Not many ponies have ever done that. Not even my own mother. "Oh, Okay, so, anything I can help ya out with?" Rainbow says to me. i glance behind me with all of my floating luggage and I haven't broken a sweat yet. "Uhhh, Have a place to crash?" She asks. "Actually no," It hits me. i was supposed to look for a place to stay before getting here. "I got caught up in the moving process." "Well come with me, I think I know just the mare, she would have the space." She says. "A-alright," Rolls out of my once more fumbling mouth, meeting all of these ponies already has my anxiety through the roof. "But if she cant take me, thats fine i can figure out something." I say walking as I follow the blue mare, my neck getting rubbed by my hoof. "Okay Nova, I'm gonna just be a sec." She says as she flies into the castle made from crystals. I feel the realization hit me like a ton of bricks. "This, is Princess Twilight's home...." I start shaking in my spot while I wait for Rainbow Dash. It feels like it's been hours, so i put my bags down, starting to clap my hoof into the ground, almost like a miserable attempt to dig. I wait. It feels even longer. Wait Nova, Twilight lives here, just wait like Rainbow Dash told you to. It'll all turn out. Oh dear, but what if i can't talk. What will happen if i just be myself. I must admit, I always have been a goofy awkward mess. Stop. I take a deep breath and close my eyes. i find myself casting a silence bubble, but I fail. I don't have the book on me. "If only i had a copy of-" and suddenly i hear someone call out the rest of my sentence. "Magic for beginners? Am I right, It certainly was helpful." i hear that nasal voice ring through to me. i shake as i turn around, a big smile on my face. "Twilight!" I burst into a rocket of accelerated energy. Then I stop mid-air, nervously chuckling. "Long time no see. Hah, Hah." the laugh becoming a nervous reflex. "I'm Sorry?" The words roll from her tongue and it just kills me on the inside. She doesn't remember me. "Nevermind." Falls out from my mouth. Literally, falls. I can hear the weight in the word. "Anyhoof. My Brother and his wife are coming in from the Crystal Empire, so I cannot host you tonight." She says. I still smile. "That's fine, Princess." I bow and the sweat rolls down. I should have bowed earlier on. "Please, It's Twilight." Boom! the butterflies zip right through me once more, like an ignited fire just bursting with lively flames. "I-I'm Nova, Nova Burst." I shakily say as I put my hoof up to shake hers. "Well now that you two are introduced, can we go see if A.J. has a place for him to crash?" Rainbow interrupts. "If theres anypony i know, It would be A.J." Twilight says. "Then to Sweet Apple Acres!" Rainbow says excitedly. "T-thanks Fillies." I say. "No sweat." "Well that's perhaps from your point of view, Rainbow." Twilight says. They briefly argue about who is seeing things right. I quietly endure, picking up my luggages with my levitation spell. sighing. i hear them argue for about five minutes. Now I know I'm just a new colt in town but, i can't hold my muzzle any longer. "Shut up!" Roars out from my lips as i cast a firework from my horn between them both. It explodes infront of them into a burning rainbow toned stream. "HEY!" Rainbow screams out. "What was that for?!" Twilight shouts at me. "You guys are arguing. I heard enough of that before from my mother!" I huff. "Wait... your mother.. She wasn't of the Royal Guard was she?" "Yeah, Twilight, She was." I reply. "Wait, so that makes you, the famous fireworks maker." she exclaims. "Yeah, I guess that is me. i am Nova Burst, Pyrotechnics specialist." It rolls right out from my mouth. "You helped out with the wedding of Cadence and Shining Armour." She adds. "Yea." "Wait, so the fireworks after my rainboom was made by you?" Rainbow adds herself in. "Yeah, that was me." i say. "Well Nova, Tomorrow night i will have my home free again, if you want, you can stay with myself and spike." she says. "That'd be an honor, Twilight. Though, I am still surprised you don't remember me from magic kindergarden." I add. "Huh?" Rainbow is flying and confused. "You two were in the same class?" "Yeah," I start. " Was some of the most fun filled days of my life." "Really?" Twilight replied." Worst days for me." "The only reason they picked on you twilight, was because thats what kids do. just as they did with me." I push her lower hind leg with my forehoof smiling. "I guess so." She replies. "Here we are, Sweet apple Acres." Rainbow bursts out. Author's Note Well, this part, i found was inspired by the fan fiction, Vinyl and Octavia: University Days. this chapter has beeen produced with all of my goofy lovey dovey stuff in my being. so i have to get the urge to write out of my system until the excitement goes away! This Chapter, Our Colt, Nova Burst, is on the adventure to finding a place to stay. He forgot to find out where he could crash in town. ((There is a reference to one of my favourite songs in here. catch it and let me know, because i want to see if anypony noticed it. As i am alll Dash, Twili and lets not forget my favourite musical mare, Vinyl Scratch))
Chapter 3I look around and see the emerald green leaves and ruby red apples hanging around the orchard. I see an orange mare in the distance with a crimson red pony, each having their own set of floating green eyes. the mare having lighter toned green than the red colt, but they looked related. The little yellow filly seemed bouncing with excitement on her way into the farmhouse. i glance over slightly as the farmhouse door remains open. i see a green old timer napping in a rocking chair. i look up to twilight as she is humming and looking over for somepony. her excitement shows because as she lifts her hoof to point out somepony, rainbow dash is already gone. I can hear twilight giggle from rainbow dash rushing. "She's a quick one eh, Twilight?" i say smirking. "Yep, Fastest filly in equestria." She replied. "Kinda like how your the smartest pony in equestria?" I say as i look down, cheeks feeling warm. i know all too well i have fallen under her grace once more. my face shows it in all shades of red. "Well, i wouldnt say the smartest in all of equestria. but i am smart." She says. "Twilight, take it from a colt who knows." I say. "What do you mean by a colt who knows?" her eyes dart to me and i can't help but turn deep in my cheeks. "W-well, i was the smartest in my class, until you came along." I reply. "Well I still am not smartest in all of equestria." She says. "Take the damn compliment Twilight." I huff as I look away. "Woah, okay there hothead, hold your horses." She says. i can hear the strain in her voice. "And thanks." She adds. "Hey y'all. Rainbow here was just tellin' me you have a stallion who needs a place to stay?" the orange mare comes to us, my distraction had not noted her approaching. "Yea, this stallion, Nova, needs a place to crash tonight. i have him tomorrow. Cadence and Shining leave for the crystal empire tomorrow, so i can take him, but, tonight, would you be kind as to take him? It's only so he can find a place. seems this stallion is a little bit forgetful." Twilight comes back. "I am, right here!" i say sighing. "Sure as Sugar ya can stay with us, if ya dont mind the barn, we can have her fixed up, we dont have any rooms in the farmhouse though." She says to me. i can't believe it already, the orange mare is being so kind and generous and surprisingly hasnt even asked anything. "Thanks, uhh, i am going to guess you are applejack, the one who raced rainbow dash a couple years back." I say." read about you two in the paper in canterlot." "Well, if your from Canterlot, Nova, I would ease Rarity into knowing. she does get a little bit carried away by the thought of it." Twilight laughs. "Huh?" "You'll see when ya meet her." Applejack says. "Well, i'm going to go home, tank needs a cleaning tonight. Then bed." Rainbow says as she flies off. "See ya!" Calls out Applejack. "Bye Rainbow!" twilight calls to Rainbow Dash. i simply drag my hoof in the ground. "Thanks." i say shyly. now im with ponies i dont know again. twilight i know, but its always been awkward for me to be with her and not able to think about what to say. "So, Dash said you know Twilight from a while back?" Applejacks emerald eyes peer over to me. i turn my head in realization. "Yeah, in Canterlot, before Celestia selected her as celestias star student." i smirk rubbing the back of my neck. "Yeah, anyways, i have to get back to shining and cadence. i dont want them to feel ignored." The purple mare says out apologetically. "Okay, tomorrow then Twilight?" I say. "Yeah, come on by say, midday?" She says back smiling. "Sure." I smile. immediately looks to Applejack. "See ya 'round sugar cube." Applejack says before twilight has a chance to speak. all twilight does is nod and fly off. "So, Applejack." i say. immediately her muzzle is before mine. "If ya lay one single hoof on her tomorrow, i will castrate ya. ya hear?" she says, her brows furrowed. "Yes." i say. "Completely. I just don't think i'd even stand a chance to begin with. So you don't have to worry a bit." i add. "Why do ya feel that way?" She actually seems sincere. "Well..." i look at her. "I'm not sure to say." i say. "Well, she isn't like most ponies, she ain't gonna rely on no reputation, jus' 'cause she's a princess, don't mean she ain't gonna take a likin' to ya." She says. "Thanks, but i don't find that easy to believe." i reply. "Trust me, if she has anythin' fer ya, she'll end up sayin' so." she says and smiles. "How's about we go have a cup of cider, get to know one another better?" She offers. "Please, would be the first drink since i got here." i chuckle. Applejack and I walk into the farmhouse. Oh god, I am really wishing i was still being awkward with twilight now. brother in town or not. "Nova, this is Applebloom, Big Mac and not to mention Granny Smith." she points out the ponies i noticed outside. "Hey, it's a pleasure to meet you all." i simply nod and smile. "I appreciate the hospitality." "No problem young feller." the older green mare says to me. i'm assuming that is granny. "Eyup." Comes out of the big red colt. I'm Guessing thats why they call him 'Big' mac. The guy is a giant! "You stayin' for supper?" the little yellow filly says to me. "Yup." Rolls out of my mouth. Oh lord. How bad of a mistake to make. I hope i don't get a hoof in my face for that. They all burst out laughing. "What?" i say nervously. "You gotta be shy like big mac, i can see you two gettin' along just fine." Applejack says as she goes to the kitchen. I could see the cabinetry and the table inside the room. "Sooo...." i try to think of something to say. AppleBloom stares at me with these big round eyes. it almost is like seeing a dog begging for something you have. "Uh, you all run this farm on your own?" I ask. "Eyup." Big Mac says. it seems like he is rather monotone. ah well. "Actually, Big Mac and Applejack do the usual apple bucking and farm work. i am still in school though and granny runs the zap apple harvest times and baking when we all are out." Applebloom leaves herself panting from the big amount of words in one sentence. who knew a filly could talk so fast. Author's Note WOOHOOO! 8 Hours on the net and its got my first two favourites. i figured this would be a reason to write this more. but i hope so far you all enjoyed it. if you guys catch the refences i make in the fanfic i thank you for seeing my bland humor. A little tidbit for you, about nova burst. he was invented because i found out my OC, Lightning Blaze, Was a "mary sue". as lightning burst was an alicorn from before luna was banished to the moon, and way before celestia had rule. i made nova to be my side of me, that i found could best relate to twilight. though, later on you will meet other original characters of mine, Such as, Burning Night (Has a twitter page called MLP_BURNING that is now inactive.) along side with the secret earth pony mare i have as another side of me, who is supposed to be my counterpart of applejack. Nova, was the top of his class, until twilight came along. now, he is second best. i know this sounds weird, but his favourite passtime- Fireworks! Thumbs up if you like this story please. i notice alot of thumbs down. but let me get into the later chapters... this is only the third... i intend on this being a fair lengthed book.
Chapter 4Oh Celestia save me.I think to myself. This filly just doesn't know when to shut her yap. I've sat here for all of five minutes and honestly, I don't think she's breathing. Where is Applejack anyway? Crosses through my mind. All I can do, for once in my life, is not get a word in. Well, not being capable is more like it. I know I'm a quiet colt. "Aha!" I burst out in excitement. "What?" Applebloom looks up at me, puzzled gaze on her face. "I just figured out a way i can pass time with Twilight tomorrow night. I can see if she learned Haycartes reading method already!" I say excitedly. "I'm glad I learned it. When I was younger, just before I got my cutiemark, actually." I smile remembering how I freaked out from that rainbow stride across that blue sky. Actually, now that I think of it... Wasn't that the same day that she got her cutiemark? "Wait, the rainbow stride? You can't mean you saw Rainbow Dashes sonic rainboom too do ya?" She asks. "Say what now?" Applejack says as she comes around the corner with cider in her hooves. Walking up to me, handing me one. "Thanks." I say. "and what I was saying earlier is i think myself and twilight got our cutiemark on the same day." I added. "Doesn't that mean you and Pinkie, Rainbow, Fluttershy and Rarity got your cutiemarks on the same day?" Applebloom says looking up to her big sister. "I can't believe it, but it seems so." I say. "Well hold onto your apples there a second." Applejack says to me. "We all got tied together by a rainboom, and i heard ya talkin' 'bout that too." She adds. "Why is that important?" Rolls out from my mouth. "Well, we all saw that rainboom and we represent the elements of harmony. The elements came from the tree of harmony. We all got our cutiemarks at the same time. We all figured out our destinies based on that single event an' now you get here. you have a same thing in common as us, so what's that mean?" She starts thinking deeply. I can tell just by the look on her face. she is really, really thinking on this. "I'd say there may be yet another connection due to the occurrence seeing as you all have experienced it." I drop my luggage not realizing I had run the spell so long, yawning now. I chuckle and rub the back of my neck. "Well, I guess so. Twilight would know best." She nods as she says it. "Oh, Let me and big mac take care of yer luggage and bring it to the barn fer ya." She offers. "Nah, I can take care of it thanks. Just gonna give my horn a break." I rub it gently as I know it's done its hard work for a bit. "Well, if you say so." Applejack says with doubt in her voice. "I'll be fine really." I say. "At least let big mac carry some for ya when he shows ya a good spot to rest up in there." She persists. "Alright." I give in. She is about as stubborn as a mule. "So I'll show ya the guest room." Big Mac says. he picks up half of my luggage without a sweat. I really hope he doesn't kill me if I offend him. I think to myself. I use my horn once more. I feel the magic working and I carry my half of the luggage. Big Mac leads me out to the barn, taking me up a set of stairs. I can't believe my eyes, but it actually is a full fledged bedroom. "I used to sleep out here when i wanted away from AJ and Granny. Hope you find it comfortable." He says. "Well, Thanks man." I say back. " Rainbow dash seems a little extreme from what i saw." i add. "Eyup." He nods. "You seen it too?" I say. "Eyup." "You don't talk much do you?" "Ehhnope." "Alright." I place my luggage on the barn floor. I see Big Mac setting the rest beside it. "Look, Nova." He says. "Yeah Big Mac?" "I know how it feels to be shy, so, I guess what I'm saying is if ya feel alone, come see me, I'll be happy to hang out sometime." "Thanks Big Mac. I'll be sure to come by, but for now, I think it's time i hit the hay." I look out the window into the lowering sun and raising of the moon. Twilight, the time of which the sun and moon are both in the sky. Not to mention my favorite time of day. "Okay, Bye." He says quietly and i watch him walk into the farmhouse. "Night." I say. I look throughout the room. A bed with a red and green quilt on it lays in the corner. This just look uncomfortable and yet, welcoming. I cant help but rest in the hay bales for a bit. The smell in the air is southern, the warm grass. The apples rolling into my nostrils by scent. The air is crisp and dry. It is going to be nice when I have my own place again. I still can't believe tomorrow I spend the night with Twilight. I don't know what to expect from it. Are we going to end up studying like she used to do beforehand? Is she even the same filly I knew?
