The mane 6 were having a picnic after a long week of work.
Twilight had be given new books to read by Princess Celestia and had spent the entire week reading and doing reports for the princess about each book she read.
Rainbow Dash was in weather patrol all week since most of her weather team had caught the feather flu she had to manage the entire weather all on her own which should've been easy, but was a lot harder if you had to prevent a hurricane from destroying the town.
Pinkie had to go all the way to Fillydelphia to throw a party for somepony who was turning 100. She had given her a scrapbook filled with pictures of the key moments in her life given by her family.
Fluttershy had to go meet Treehugger who had discovered a rare Griffin with a pony's behind. His name was Silver Quill and apparently he was a "Hippogriff" which was confusing because he didn't look like a hippo at all.
Rarity had been finishing her orders for Sapphire Shores and Rara. It was a lot harder to complete with the Crusaders' sleepover and their need to constantly make noise which kept disturbing Rarity.
Applejack had gone to Appleloosa to help with their harvest since they had been having a rise of popularity.
Needless to say these girls deserved a break from work and saving the world every other day.
"Hey gals can I ask a totally random question? " Applejack asked
"Sure Applejack I love random questions!" Pinkie perked.
"Heh ok, but you all have to answer. Ok?" Applejack said to the others.
"Ok AJ now tell us!" Pinkie said impatiently
"Ok sheesh! If you were to date somepony from the six of us who would you want to date and why?" Applejack asked nervously.
"Hmmm well I never thought of that since I've always pictured myself with a prince but since that went so well I suppose if I ever had to date somepony from all of us then it'd be you Applejack. " Rarity answered
"Applejack?!" Rainbow exclaimed
"Hey! What's that suppose to mean Rainbow?!" Applejack retorted
"Awww" Fluttershy and Pinkie cooed
"Applejack?!" Rainbow exclaimed
"That's unexpected, but I guess it kinda makes sense." Twilight said pondering what it would be like if the two were together.
"Applejack?!" Rainbow exclaimed
"Ok we get it your shocked!" Applejack said crossing her hooves
"Applejack?!" Rainbow exclaimed
"Ima hit ya with my banjo if you don't stop!" Applejack said standing up.
"......"
"That's better." Applejack said sitting back down.
"First if all, yes Rainbow I do mean Applejack and second of all I would want to be with her because she likes working hard and is an admirable big sister. She hates letting ponies down and even though we may fight a lot she has a way of making me love her down to earth style. Despite the fact I would never consider it for myself.
Most importantly she accepts me for who I am. And even though we tend to clash from time to time, she never wants me to change who I am for somepony else. And honestly if I could I would love to be with her. "Rarity replied looking away from Applejack as she said her final sentence.
Applejack tried hard to hide her blush but failed and got a giggle from the rest of them.
"Oooh is somepony blushing?" Pinkie teased leaning towards Applejack, who in response just pulled her hat down to cover her face.
This caused Pinkie and Rainbow Dash to fall to the ground laughing.
"My turn! My turn! If I was going to date somepony it would be Fluttershy because she so kind and cute. And I love it when she has a big smile on her face because it makes me want to have a big smile on my face!" Pinkie said bouncing up and down not noticing the butterscotch Pegasus blushing.
"Wow Pinkie that was....really sappy." Rainbow said with a bored look.
"Rainbow Dash stop being rude." Twilight said hitting Rainbow's head with a book.
"Ok fine, sorry geez!" Rainbow said rubbing her head.
"Um I would love to date Pinkie because she makes me feel butterflies in my stomach all the time." Fluttershy said hiding herself behind her mane but receiving a nuzzle from the pink pony.
"Awwww!" The rest (except Rainbow) said admiring the two.
"Ew guys I'm eating here." Rainbow said showing her burger.
"Ok then what's your answer?" Applejack questioned getting tired of Rainbow's criticism.
"Hmm I don't know I've never thought about it before. Give me a minute to think. Or an hour." Rainbow replied thinking hard about her answer.
"Well my answer would be Rainbow Dash. " Twilight said catching Rainbow's attention.
"Me? Why me?" Rainbow asked genuinely confused.
"Yeah why her? Have you met her, she can't even do her job without needing a nap every 10 minutes." Applejack said causing Rainbow to shoot her a glare.
"Looks like karma caught up to you Rainbow. " Fluttershy said trying to hide her giggle behind her hoof.
"Yeah, yeah." Rainbow said grumbling to herself.
"Well Rainbow to answer your's and Applejack's question, your loyalty is very admirable, your one of the most beautiful ponies I've ever met, your smile makes me want to smile and for some strange reason I get a warm fuzzy feeling whenever your close to me.
Even though I've never said it, I really do enjoy our private reading sessions because before I didn't have anyone to read with but now I have you and it makes me feel happy and glad that I'm not alone anymore."Twilight answered looking down with a noticable blush.
"Wait a warm fuzzy feeling?" Pinkie asked
"Yeah why?" Twilight asked looking up.
Rarity giggled "Oh its nothing dear. We're glad you feel so highly for Rainbow. "
Applejack sniggered " Yeah so does Rainbow. Look at her she's redder than a tomato. " Rainbow blushed even more when everypony looked at her.
"Wha- pssh I'm not blushing I'm just suprised." Rainbow said refusing to look at anyone. Which caused Applejack, Rarity and Pinkie to flash evil grins.
Whilst this was happening Fluttershy went over to Twilight in order to ask her something.
"Twilight and Rainbow Dash sittin in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G first comes love then comes marr-" Pinkie stopped being interrupted by a cyan hoof.
"Yeah thanks Pinkie we know the rest." Rainbow said dryly.
"Now, now Rainbow there isn't any reason to be embarrassed we're all friends here." Rarity assured.
"Yeah and it'd be a bonus if you two started dating that means you'll start becoming more of a egghead and less of a featherbrain." Applejack joked with a playful causing Rainbow to roll her eyes.
"I have no idea what you're talking about I'm smart." Rainbow argued
"Of course you're smart Rainbow but not academically smart." Rarity replied patting her shoulder.
"I am academically smart! In case you forgot I passed the Wonderbolt history exam!" Rainbow said beaming with pride.
"Yeah, cause Twilight kept trying to help you study the test in different ways." Applejack said in a deadpan tone.
"Ooh yes and she also introduced you to the Daring Do books." Rarity chimed in.
"Face it Dashie, Twilight's helped you make you a lot happier." Pinkie aaid popping up next to Rainbow Dash.
This caused Rainbow to sit there in deep thought about what Pinkie had just said.
She's right I have been happier because of Twilight. I wonder what it would be like if we did date. I know I love spending time with her but don't I feel the same with the others?
No, I don't. Because even though I always say I'm awesome, Twilight makes me feel like I actually am.
She's different from the others, she's special.
"Um girls I think Twilight has something to say." Fluttershy spoke as everypony calmed down.
Everyone looked at Twilight who was trying to stop herself from blushing.
"Er R-Rainbow would you like to go see the new Daring Do movie tonight." Twilight stuttered "I mean you don't have to but-"
Whatever Twilight was going to say was cut off by a pair of lips on hers. She soon realised that Rainbow Dash was KISSING HER! But she quickly responded to the kiss and they were both kissing each other deeply.
That was until a cough came from Applejack interrupted them.
"We're happy for you both but we're still trying to eat." Applejack said as she continued eating gaining a embarrassed look from the two mares and an angry one from Rarity.
"Applejack you ruined the moment. They were going to confess their love for one another." Rarity said crossing her hooves.
"It ain't that big of a deal." Applejack answered.
"Not a big deal! Well I-" Rarity started
"Hey where are Twidash?" Pinkie asked
"Hmph, they must have left because of Applejack inconsideration." Rarity stated earning a glare from the country pony.
"Or because of Rarity's rambling."Applejack said while glaring at Rarity the two obviously forgetting the moment they had just before.
"Or maybe because they wanted to get ready for their date." Fluttershy spoke in the middle of the two ponies.
"What makes you think that Flutters? Asked Pinkie Pie
"Because that's what they told me before they left." Fluttershy answered
"Oh!" The rest of the ponies said.
