Undercover Bonbon
First Mission In Ponyville
Load Full Story"Do you have to leave?" Lyra asked. Bonbon had told her about her deepest secret about being an undercover spy. She was sent on a mission to capture and defeat the bugbear. Now that her mission was over, it was time for her to go back to Canterlot. They were waiting for the train at the Ponyville train station.
"I'm sorry, Lyra, I have to," Bonbon replied.
"Didn't you say the agency was shut down?" Lyra asked.
"I did. But for some reason, Celestia wants to run the agency again. Which means it's time for my next mission," Bonbon replied. Lyra's expression saddened. Bonbon and Lyra were best friends ever since.
"Good bye, Bonbon," Lyra said, looking away. She couldn't face her friend. Lyra had tried to convince Bonbon to stay, but it was no use. Celestia had sent Bonbon here for a special mission, and now she wants her back.
"Good bye, Lyra. I'll miss you," Bonbon said after the train arrived. She stepped onto the train, and sat in her seat. Bonbon really did want to stay with her best friend, but disobeying the princess was not an option. She took one last glance at Lyra before she was out of sight.
....
The train had finally arrived to Canterlot. Bonbon stepped off, and made her way to the Canterlot Castle. The guards all knew her, so the stepped aside for her to enter. Bonbon walked to the throne room, and stood in front of Princess Celestia herself.
"I see you have come for your next mission," Celestia said. Bonbon nodded, waiting for the princess to explain more.
"I have just recently found out that Ponyville had become the target for danger," Princess Celestia began. "Though I know I have the elements of harmony, I need somepony who can be a backup. I have seen that even the elements of harmony couldn't defeat the bugbear, yet you managed to take it down."
Bonbon waited for the princess to continue.
"Which is why I am permanently placing you in Ponyville, and will inform you of each mission," Celestia said.
Bonbon's eyes lit up. Now she could stay with her best friend, and work as a secret agent. "Really? Thanks, Princess Celestia!" Then remembering her manners, Bonbon said, "I mean, thank you." But then a thought corssed Bonbon's mind, making her feel worried. "Princess Celestia, is it okay if one of my friends knew about my secret? I told her about it in the bugbear incident, I didn't want her to worry or anything. I didn't know what to do."
"It's okay, I already knew you told her," Celestia replied.
"How?," Bonbon asked, confused. She certainly knew the princess wasn't there when Bonbon was attacking the bugbear.
"I have other sources around Equestria. It's fine, I know your friend, Lyra, is a good pony. I personally knew her myself," Celestia responded.
"Oh, thank you! I didn't know what I was going to do if you weren't okay with it!" Bonbon let out a mental sigh of relief in her mind.
Celestia smiled. "Anyways, your our next mission is to find and defeat CORT."
"What is CORT?" Bonbon asked.
"CORT stands for the coalition of rebellious terrorists. Their hideout is in the Everfree Forest. And bring the leader of the group, Terror Attacks, to the Canterlot dungeon," Celestia replied.
Bonbon nodded. "Will do. And thanks again, Princess Celestia." Princess Celestia smiled as Bonbon left.
As Bonbon boarded the train back to Ponyville, she decided to surprise Lyra. When the train finally reached Ponyville, Bonbon got off. She headed towards Lyra's house. Bonbon assumed Lyra was cleaning her room of the spider webs and dust inside. Bonbon rang the door bell. She heard hoovesteps coming towards her.
When Lyra opened the door, shock was all over her face. "Bonbon?! I didn't know you were coming back! how?"
"The princess assigned me a new mission to stay in Ponyville," Bonbon answered calmly. "Now I get to stay here for all my future missions!"
Lyra smiled widely. "That's great!" She stepped aside, allowing Bonbon to come in.
As Bonbon was walking, she said, "and Princess Celestia also assigned me a new mission! She said I have to defeat CORT. They're the coalition of rebellious terrorists. She told me their hideout is in the Everfree Forest. She also told me to bring their leader to the dungeons in Canterlot. Oh, and the princess also said that it was fine if you knew about my secret."
"Oh, I knew she'd say that. Me and the princess know each other well. I went to her Gifted School For Unicorns. But I dropped out after a few months, because my family was moving to Fillydelphia. The princess also knew my family personally, too. My grandfather used to me her royal adviser before he passed away," Lyra said. "Anyways, let's get you settled in. I already dusted out your room. You can place your things back."
Bonbon woke up at the first ray of light. It was morning. Bonbon got ready,m and trotted downstairs for breakfast. There was already some pancakes with syrup waiting on a plate for her. Lyra was finishing her pancake as Bonbon approached her.
"Good morning, Bonbon," Lyra greeted.
"Good morning, Lyra," Bonbon greeted back. "I need to check on some things for work. I'll be back." Lyra nodded as Bonbon left.
The Ponyville streets were buzzing with life. Ponies were milling around stalls, and other things. Bonbon approached her stall. But before she could do anything else, she spotted a black figure zoom past her side from the corner of her eye. Bonbon quickly turned around, but the figure was gone. But she caught the scent of the figure, a sour, lemony scent. I better follow this scent, it could be from one of the CORT's members, Bonbon thought. She followed the scent to find out ticking time bombs behind a stall.
Bonbon gasped. She quickly cut the wires of the bomb before it could go off. Bonbon used her nose once again to sniff out the lemony scent. This time, it lead her towards the schoolhouse. The mysterious figure was hiding in the back of the class inside. I've got you now, Bonbon thought, as she stealthily went for the figure. She crept towards bushed and trees, temporarily hiding in them so the figure won't see her. When she was finally close enough, she pounced on the figure, catching it in surprise.
They tumbled down from the schoolhouse
