The Key to Failure or Victory is Intel
This chapter is just an information brief before the start of the actual story, just go to chapter 2 for the beginning of the story but I would highly advise in reading some of the log entries to get an understanding.
Log Entry 15:
-Subject: Interaction of Locals
While it's best to keep a low profile for now, long distance observation has revealed that the dominant species is somewhat of a variance of a human, but differs in nature. Some variations are based on wings, horns, or in rare cases of both features with those cases having some kind of tattoo on the left arm. This variation deem themselves as "Arcanians". The meaning behind the mark is unknown but will be researched in later expeditions. Other features seen include bird of prey-like wings found with "Griffins" to scales being seen with both "Nagas" and "Draconians". There are cultures that are near identical to those of Earth with the "Zebrican" and "Buffalo" Tribes as instances.
Log Entry 30:
-Subject: Technological Prowess
A recent survey made across the planet has a unique understanding. The most advanced state currently is the Griffin Empire, with the early model of firearm technology being developed "secretly". While no major innovations similar to our Industrial Revolution has yet to occur in any of the countries, the property of magic that was mere fiction in our world is a real truth in this one. Magic seems to be found in small concentrations with griffins to large amounts of it in the leaders of Equestria.
Log Entry 49:
-Subject: Wildlife
Most of the wildlife is similar to our own with the norm from alligators to wolves. But the similarities end there as the existence of creatures deemed as myths have been recorded to be present. These lifeforms can range from annoying with parasprites to life threatening in the case of hydras.
Log Entry 89:
-Subject: Interaction of Locals (New Data)
A recent observation was made when collecting plant samples for upcoming experiments, stealth technology had to be used to keep hidden from contact of subject but this and newly recovered archives verify a subset of "Arcanians" that are similar to "Changelings", another subset of said species that somehow feeds off of non-physical food source and is able to change its appearance, that feed off of negative energy called "Sirens". They are to be placed as near a threat level of concerned but should be avoided at all costs.
Log Entry 91:
-Subject: Political Geography
While the two major nations of Equestria and the Griffin Empire dominate political sphering the planet, a number of minor states have formed in the cases of Naqah, The Free Griffin Republic, Tapira, and Alpaclan to name a few. A similar system to the United Nations does exist to keep conflict from reaching a global point exists but a number of problems exist such as corruption or inability to help be a broker for negotiations in ending conflicts. Large swaths of land remain unincorporated between Equestria and the Griffin Empire due to harsh environment and treaties that prevent further settlement expansions. The Mild West is mainly unincorporated due to tribal customs and inability for rule of law to be enforced. The island of Killa is slowly forming a developing country from a union of "Diamond Dog" tribes after mostly unifying peacefully while also calling to those outside its borders that are "Diamond Dogs" to return home after the conclusion of the civil war/transition.
Log Entry 101:
-Subject: Equestrian-Changeling-Griffin Conflict
A decade following my arrival to this world, a political dispute between the major powers of Equestria and the Griffon Empire due to disagreement of whom claimed a series of islands that is a significant trading hub. The name of islands is blurred but the Equestrians recognize it as the Altai Islands, while the Griffons declared it as the Eagle Claw Straits.The fighting has mostly been kept to the island itself and border towns between the Griffin Empire and Equestria. The status of the island is mostly in ruin but basic infrastructure is still intact. The conflict has stood mostly between the two, but new reports are showing that the conflict could escalate higher to a regional war due to military aid and training from the Zebrican Confederation to the Griffin Empire, and recent significant loans made to Equestria by Saddle Arabia. What is surprising is that the Queendom Empire of the Changelings made a bold move to lead a surprise siege of the capital city, Canterlot, for two days. It seems I have to make my presence known, and with a loud one at that.
