1. How it ended and began
"Energy flows through my veins as the world around me crumbles beneath my feet, villages burn and streets are deserted. My fire burns all that dare to stand against me, my rage unending. Now you pony princess dare to engage me in battle." Algalon roars as the earth itself shakes. "You are a fool to stand against me, how do you possible think you can defeat me!"
The once lush forest has be reduced to nothing but a waste land as his breath ended all life. Now the two princesses, Luna and Celestia stand against the threat that has tormented this world for far too long.
"You brought nothing but pain and destruction to this world and it is our task to bring you down Algalon!" Yelled Celestia as she hovered a few feet above the ground with her coat clearly singed from the heat that Algalon produces. The ground beneath her was burned and here and there are several small craters.
Algalon merely grinned wickedly as he opened his wings and flew into the air. "Then allow me to get started." With these words he would fly towards the Everfree Forest where the princesses castle resides. Her eyes widened as she figured out what he was planning. Without a moment to spare she set flight towards her home, going as fast as she could. When she arrived there were dead guards everywhere. Some were ripped apart while others were burned beyond recognition. Towers were leveled, walls were destroyed and a smell of sulfur and brimstone fills her nose.
She feared the worst when suddenly a beam of bright light filled the air as a roar of anger echoed through the forest. Soon fire filled the halls and pathways, Celestia quickly made her way towards Algalon only to find a human standing in the middle of a large hall. On the far side of the hall stood her younger sister Luna with her horn glowing brightly.
"What have you done!" He roared as his red eyes burned with anger and his fists covered in flames. "What kind of magic is this!"
"These are the elements of harmony Algalon!" Celestia yelled as her horn too begins to shine, slowly a few gems appear before her and start to swirl around her. Algalon roared as he lunged at Celestia only for him to be knocked back by the power of the elements. "They are the most pure form of magic known to ponykind."
His eyes filled with rage as he filled his lungs with air, releasing a cone of fire at Celestia's direction. She struggled to keep the elements under control as the sheer force of the attack made her take a step back.
"Nothing can stop me!" He roared as he was engulfed in his own fire. "I am the destroyer of worlds, I will not be stopped by some mere ponies magic!"
"Accept it Algalon, you are defeated!" Yelled Luna as she too was surrounded by two of the elements. The elements spun faster around Celestia and Luna as they formed a colorful ring around the princesses.
They started to chant as Algalon, still in his human form attempts to interrupt the chant by blasting wave after wave of fire at the two sisters. "No, I will not admit defeat. I rather die than be enslaved by your kind!" He roared as the entire room filled itself with fire melting the stone walls due to the intense heat of the flames.
The princesses didn't budge as they continued to chant making the elements spin around at high speed. Suddenly a field of energy surrounded Algalon as his flames are now contained within the barrier, slowly shrinking as he struggles to keep the flames from dying out. He roared as he was brought onto his knees with his flames slowly disappearing. The elements drained him of his power, making him roar once more. The sister finished their chant as they pointed their horns at the dragon now human as the elements did their job. Algalon was disappearing but not before saying his final words.
"You have not won this battle, I will return and when I do, pray to your gods for mercy for you will not get any from me. Count your day princesses of Equestria, for your end is inevitable." With those final words he disappeared in a blinding light as he is banished to the sun for his eternal imprisonment. The energy of the elements disperse leaving the two sister on the ground panting heavily. The strain on their bodies was huge while they used the elements. Celestia was the first to recover as she slowly rose to her hooves looking around as she only saw molten walls and blackened stones. She quickly made her way towards her sister to see if she was harmed in any way, luckily she was not.
Luna's eyes opened slowly as she saw her sister stand next to her, which she quickly embraced. "We did it sister, we defeated him." Luna spoke with a low voice.
"We did indeed little sister, I'm just relieved that you are unharmed. When he flew towards the castle I feared the worst." Celestia said as she embraces Luna. "But I fear we have to be cautious in the future, sooner or later he will return and with that the destruction of the world. Let us pray it will be later rather than sooner."
As time passes with Algalon imprisoned the two sisters had to rebuild their home. But instead of rebuilding the current location they decided to build their new castle on the side of a mountain that stands tall in the center of the land of Equestria, which they called; Canterlot Mountain.

Thousands of years passed as they fought against Discord, even Luna fell to madness and attempted to shroud the world in eternal night, but too she was defeated by the elements of harmony and sent to the moon where she will stay till the thousandth day of the summer sun celebration. "where she will use the stars to aid her in her escape." Reads Twilight as she was sitting at her usual spot in the royal Canterlot library.
"Hmm, maybe I can ask the Princess for more information." She thought out loud as she closed the book and neatly placed it back where it belonged. She walked through the many halls of the castle searching her way through the labyrinth of halls and walkways until she finally reached the throne room where Celestia is supposed to be. When she approached the two massive doors the guards that were stationed next to the doors opened them from her as she walked into the room spotting Celestia on her throne reading some papers. She walked towards the throne and coughed once to get her attention, Celestia looked from her papers at Twilight this it brought a smile on her face as she was happy to see her student again.
"Ah, Twilight." Celestia said as she approached Twilight and gave her a small hug which she gladly returned. "What bring you here my faithful student? I have a feeling this isn't only for some tea, am I correct?"
Twilight nodded once as she looked Celestia straight in the eyes. "I want to know more about this 'Nightmare Moon' character. I know she is only an old ponies tale to scare us when we were just foals, but I can't find nothing more other than, and I quote, "That she will use the stars to aid her in her escape on the one thousandth day of the summer sun celebration."."
"My faithful student Twilight, you really need to get you muzzle out of those dusty old books. Like you said, she is nothing more than a ponies tale." She replied as she sits down in front of Twilight smiling softly at the young mare. "Tell you what," Celestia started. "I need someone to supervise the coming celebration, and I know you will be perfect for the task. But that is not all, try to make some friends Twilight." She nuzzles Twilight as she looks at her. "Friends are more important to a young mares life than books."
"But what about Nightmare Moon?" Twilight said with a small pout on her face which made Celestia giggle.
"I'll make sure a carriage is ready when you are ready to depart
"Can you at least tell me the name of the place I'll be going?" Twilight asked as she once again looked at Celestia with a look that clearly screamed annoyance. Celestia merely chuckled at the look as she tapped her chin for a moment.
"The village is called, Ponyville." She replied as she summoned a list with her magic. "Here is a list with all the things that need to be perfect for the celebration. Now get your stuff together and meet the guards that will fly you to Ponyville and remember, try to make some friends."
With a sigh Twilight did what was asked of her as she joined the guards in the garden where they will transport her to the town of Ponyville.

somewhere on the suns surface stands a tall figure chained to the ground with chains that are magically enchanted to withstand high temperatures or blunt force. The figure looks up as his blazing red hair partly covers his face. His eyes burned brightly as his gaze rests on the planet before him. He growled lowly as smoke escapes his mouth and nose.
"Soon Celestia, very soon!" He roared as the sun itself shakes and a large stream of fire shoots from the surface of the sun.
