//-------------------------------------------------------// Destruction visits Equestria -by MBronyM- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// The Royal Meeting //-------------------------------------------------------// The Royal Meeting Twilight stepped out of the train, and into the city of Canterlot.  Her friends following close behind her.  AppleJack walked up to Twilight and gave her a quick nudge.  "Hey Twi?  I know that this is important an' all...but are ya sure it's ok to meet the princesses unannounced?" Twilight sighed, she hadn't considered this.  "Well, I'm not sure AppleJack.  But the map led us to this spell, so there must be an enemy in our future that'll be as strong as Tirek!  This time we have to be ready!"  She said.  Everypony nodded in agreement as they walked towards the Canterlot Castle. ~~~ Spike walked into the library room of the castle, still dusting the floors.  "Ugh...I don't get it...how does a crystal castle get this dusty so quickly?!"  He asked himself.  Deciding to take a break, he leaned his broom against a shelf and sighed, walking towards the exit of the room. Just as he was about to exit, the broom hit the floor with a thud.  Spike looked back and groaned a bit.  "What does a dragon have to do around here to get a---" He paused mid sentence, noticing something odd.  The broom strangely enough cracked a thin layer of what looked like glass. Inside appeared to be a button.  He wondered how he's never seen that before.  Maybe because of all the crystals he's never seen the small glass in the floor.  He cut the remaining glass in the way with his claw, then hesitantly pushed the button. Suddenly, a large door opened in the middle of the room.  Spike stared in awe, as the spiral staircase underneath seemed to go on forever.  He sighed and he started walking.  "Gulp...here goes nothing..." ~~~ Twilight and her friends were allowed inside, the large doors opened and the guards stepped aside.  Twilight looked up at the staircase a Princess Celestia walked down the steps.  "Hello Twilight, what brings you here?"  She asked, tilting her head some. "Celetstia!  The map activated again!" She said, deciding to get right to the point.  "And we found the tower of StarSwirl the Bearded!  Along with his personal journal!" She said, levitating it up for her to see. Celestia took the journal, flipping through the pages, until she came upon the tabbed page.  She looked puzzled, then a bit curious.  "Alicorn Goddess...?"  She mumbled to herself. "Do you have any idea what that is?  Or why the map led us there?"  She asked.  She hoped that even if Celestia didn't know what the Alicorn Goddess was, she'd at least know something about why the map led them there! Celestia sighed a bit under her breath.  "Unfortunately, no I do not know what the Alicorn Goddess is..."  For a moment, Twilight looked down, until Celestia spoke up again. "But, I think I may know why the map brought you there to get it."  She said.  Her horn glowed and the sun on the floor glowed as well.  A staircase, lit by torches underneath. "Come everypony, I have much to tell you."  She said, proceeding to walk down the steps, with Twilight and her friends following.  Making it to the bottom of the stairs, a hallway with cavepony-like painting was before them. "Long ago, cavepony art described a being unlike no other in terms of power..." She explained as they walked down the halls.  "They described not a mortal, but a god who's strength was unmatched."  She said, though part of her sounded...scared. Everypony seemed interested and fascinated in the cave writings.  Some showed ponies bowing to a jackal-like creature.  Other's showed either ponies satisfying him, or the jackal destroying them. "He was known as Beerus the Destroyer..." She said.  Reaching the end of the hall, there was one large painting of the jackal in the middle of what looked like a sun.  "They say he's powerful enough to destroy a planet with a single finger..." Everyone gasped hearing this.  This was beyond what they'd expect.  Twilight seemed to start to go crazy again, a few hairs going crooked.  "W-What?!  How can anyone in Equestria be that powerful?!"  She asked in disbelief. "He's not from Equestria, or from this planet?  He's from somewhere we've yet to understand."  She explained.  Rarity spoke up and asked.  "Excuse me Princess?  But what does this have to do with what we found?" "I believe this is why the map sent you to find that spell.  I believe that Beerus the Destroyer is coming here!"  They all gasps once more, louder than before.  "What?!  Can't we just...idk...use our harmony magic against him?!"  Asked Rainbow Dash, unsure what to call the magic they used to defeat Tirek. "I wish we could, but I do not know if that will be powerful enough to stop him...This 'Alicorn Goddess' spell may be our only hope."  She said, eyeing the spell and how to get it to work. "Twilight, I need you to find out how to use this spell.  I'll inform Luna, Cadence, and Shining Armor about this."  Twilight nodded and ran out of the tunnel, her friends following close behind. "Girls, do whatever you can to prepare for his arrival!  He can arrive in weeks, days, hours, maybe even minutes!"  She said, starting to freak out as she flew off. ~~~ "Lord Beerus?  Have you finished brushing your teeth?"  Whis asked, sounding like a nagging mother.  Beerus grumbled as he walked down the stairs, wearing his godly clothing.  "Yeah Whis, I'm all done.  Can we go now?" Whis smiled as they walked outside the temple.  Tapping his staff on the ground a few times, a light appeared underneath them and they shot off into deep space.  "I hope that they have good food there..." He said, looking around the stars as they rapidly passed by. "I'm sure they do Lord Beerus.  For now, just try to relax until we get there." Said his attendant, with a smile. The two godly beings zoomed through space, rapidly approaching their destination. //-------------------------------------------------------// Time to Wake Up //-------------------------------------------------------// Time to Wake Up Everything was calm at first.  Everything was but a wasteland of what used to be a beautiful grassy field.  But then... BOOM The two silhouettes clashed.  One was a silhouette of deep magenta, the other of purple.  The magenta being had wings and a single horn atop its head.  The other had large ears and a long tail.  Their battle went on for what felt like an eternity.  The dirt and stone beneath them crumbled to nothing.  The clouds above them would fade to nothing.  Just as they were about to clash once more. "Lord Beerus, it's time to wake up!"  Called his attendant Whis. The God of Destruction woke up, only to roll over and try to fall back to sleep. "Five more years Whis..." He'd mumble, starting to suck his thumb. Whis would sigh, shaking his head.  "The universe can't wait another 5 years.  Not only that but if you don't get up you're backup alarms are gonna---" BOOM BANG BOOM Beerus grumbled through the smoke and debris the 'backup alarms' made.  "Alright Whis...I'm up..." He said, slowly getting up from his small bed. He stretched and made a loud yawn, lifting a leg off the edge of his bed fell off the floating rock.  He hit the ground with a loud thud, but rolled up and rubbed his head.  He stretched out and he stood up. Whis tapped his staff onto the ground a few times, making Beerus' pajamas disappear and a towel appear around his waist.  "Now I want you to take your bath, make sure to wash this time." To this, Beerus only grumbled as he lazily walked towards the hot springs.  He climbed into the springs with a relaxed sigh, Whis appearing just out of the springs. "So Whis, tell me...What's happened during my slumber?  Anything I should be concerned about?" The god asked, not bothering to look at Whis.  Whis looked into the orb of his staff, searching through space.  "Well, there was a certain battle that caught my eye...though it may not be much---" "Show me" Ordered the big purple jackal.  Whis nodded and tapped the staff on the ground a few times, causing the orb to show a hologram screen.  The screen showed the battle between Twilight and Tirek. "Hm...who are these two beings?"  Beerus looked to Whis, expecting an answer.  "The alicorn you see there is named Twilight Sparkle.  While the centaur calls himself Tirek" Beerus' eyes seemed to widen ever so slightly. "Alicorn?  Alicorn....Hm..." Beerus thought to himself for a moment, which caused Whis to tilt his head.  "Yes Lord Beerus, that's what I said." Beerus ignored him, now being in deep thought.  "No...I remember that from somewhere!  It was Alicorn...Alicorn....Goddess!"  He exclaimed, now standing up.  "It was in my dream!  I fought a being who liked just like her!" "Um...Lord Beerus..." Whis said, looking away with a small shade of pink on his cheeks.  Beerus looked down and then quickly sat back into the water.  "Whis, what planet did this battle take place?" For the next minute or two, Whis searched through space before stating.  "It took place on a small planet called Equis.  Or to be more specific, the land of Equestria." Beerus stepped out of the springs, Whis tapped his staff on the ground a few more times which made Beerus' clothing appear on him.  "Tell me, how long will it take to get to 'Equis'?"  Beerus asked, walking out of the room and proceeding down the seemingly endless staircase. "About 17 minutes." Whis said, following close behind.  This caused the god to groan.  "17 minutes?  Well, at least it's not that far away..."  He sat down at a long dining table, which was filled with platters, bowls, and cups of all different kinds of food and drink. Whis smiled, making his staff vanish into thin air.  "Well, we can visit.  But first you have to eat.  Can't have you of all people traveling on an empty stomach." "What's THAT supposed to mean?" growled the god.  He brushed it off, and went to thinking as he ate. "Alicorn Goddess...just what are you..?" //-------------------------------------------------------// A New Destination //-------------------------------------------------------// A New Destination Twilight let out a yawn, just waking up.  She walked past Spike, who was still asleep while sucking his claw.  She went down the crystal steps, walking into the throne/map room. She couldn't help but notice something odd.  Her eyes grew a bit wide and she stepped towards the map.  She saw the cutie marks floating above the map, in a mountainous area.  There appeared to be a small stone tower atop one of the taller mountains. "Spike!" She called, hoping Spike would wake up.  She was only given slightly louder snored from the baby dragon.  She sighed softly.  "Guess I'll just go round them up myself."  With that, she ran out the door. 20 Minutes Later... The anthro ponies stood around the map, trying to figure out why the map started to show them where to go again.  "So, why in tarnation do we have to go to a small tower at the top of a mountain?  There can't be much we can do there."  AppleJack said. "Well...I'm not sure to be honest.  Last time the map activated, we saved an entire town.  I'm not sure what we can do in a small tower..." She said, still puzzled.  She thought for another moment before saying.  "Well, whatever the reason, it must be important." The rest of the mares nodded in response.  And with that, they prepared to travel.  Twilight had Spike send a letter to Celestia, stating that they'll be gone for a few days or longer.  So the mares set out, leaving Spike to take care of the castle while they were gone.  They boarded the train and set off for the mountains. About 5 hours Later... Twilight and her friends finally stepped out into the Crystal Empire.  They were greeted by some locals, as they were known for taking part in the saving of the Crystal Empire.   They walked around the Crystal Empire, where they finally made it to the foots of the mountains.  Rainbow Dash couldn't even fly up there because the snow was coming down to hard.  They walked up the mountain, AppleJack couldn't help but groan at Rarity. "Warm 'nough Rarity?" She asked.  Rarity was dressed in about 7 scarves.  "What?  It's cold up here!"  AppleJack continued to slightly glare as she spoke. "Then how come ya'll are wearin' a dress?!" Rarity paused for a moment, then posed slightly.  "Just because it's cold doesn't mean I can't look fabulous!"  As another cold breeze came by, the hugged herself and shivered. For what seemed like hours, they walked through the cold snowy mountains.  They were barley able to see what was in front of them.  But then, through the snow, they could make out the silhouette of a tower! Pinkie Pie zipped by Twilight, dashing to the tower like a pink blur.  "Pinkie wait!  You don't know what's up there!"  Twilight yelled as they all ran up after her. They finally made it to the tower, old would be an understatement, it looked ancient!  Twilight walked up to the old oak wood door and slowly opened it. Pinkie was sitting in a wood chair, sitting by a fire and drinking hot cocoa.  They were all looking at Pinkie in disbelief.  "What?  Did you want some?" She asked, holding out her cocoa. A mouse ran across the room, which Fluttershy started to talk to.  It made her more comfortable now that there was an animal around.  Twilight noticed something on the wall that was covered in an old dusty sheet.  She took hold of the sheet and took it off, gasping at what she saw. It was a big, old portrait of a unicorn.  He looked old, and had a coat of light grey.  He had a large white beard and a blue hat and coat.  The hat had a bell on the tip and the hat and coat had stars and a moon on them. "This tower was StarSwirl the Bearded's..." She said in shock.  But that shock soon turned into excitement,  she squee'd slightly.  "This is StarSwirl the Bearded's tower!  There must be tons of spells and stories in here!  Oh I can't wait to read them a---" She was cut off by the look Rainbow Dash was giving her.  She coughed slightly and regained her composure.  "W-Well....let's try to find out why exactly the map led us here. For the next 20 minutes, they searched and searched.  Twilight continuously pulled books off the shelves and looked at the covers and titles, trying to find some importance that will help her search.  Rainbow Dash yawned as she looked through the books.  Soon though, she had enough. "Oh come on!  There has to be something here that's cool and awesome!  That's why the map would take us here, to fight some horrible monster or something!"  Hearing monster, Fluttershy hid behind one of the chairs, though was still clearly visible. "Don't worry Fluttershy, there ain't no monster here." AppleJack said, reassuring her friend.  "And Rainbow, ya'll need to calm down.  Faster we find somethin' important, faster we can solve this." "Look over here girls!" Exclaimed Twilight.  In her hands was StarSwirled the Bearded's journal.  Though it was completely different then the one sent to her by Celestia.  Not only that, but it looks like it hasn't been opened in centuries. Twilight noticed a tabbed page, and decided to open to that.  She read aloud the text on the page.  "In all my years, I have never found a spell as powerful as this one.  If my calculations are correct, if all the ponies of Equestria focus the magic within them and all think about the same Unicorn/Alicorn, all of their magic will be transferred to him/her.  All that is needed for it to work is a powerful unicorn and or alicorn and a powerful magic absorbing spell.  If the spell will work, I do not know.  But if it does, the pony who absorbs the magic will become stronger than any being before..." She finished the text, the rest of the pages in the journal were blank.  She stared at the journal, then looked at her cutie mark, noticing the glow.  "Really?  That's what we came for?" Asked the rainbow pegasus, who was flying right above Twilight. Rarity stepped next to Twilight, taking a look at the journal.  "Why in Equestria would we need to know that?"  She asked.  Twilight was beyond confused now.  Why would the map send them to find this spell?  Why would they need it? After a minute of thinking, she said.  "I don't know...but maybe Celestia will.  Come on girls!  Let's go to Canterlot and tell Celestia abut this."  They stepped back out to the cold mountain.  Twilight stared at the journal and thought to herself. "Why did you have this spell..?"
