Weak. I was weak. Despite my best efforts, my friends always saved the day while I cowered. Well no more! I won’t be weak any more! Celestia as my witness, I will be the strongest mare in Equestria, and I’ll take every foe out with just one…
One hoof, it’s all it took as Fluttershy turned the rampaging bugbear into a gorey red mist that stained the bare fur of her head. Hoof still steaming, Fluttershy stared down at it with a bemused stare, an annoyed smile on her face “It was just… one hoof again…”
Grabbing onto her mighty friend, Rainbow squeezed with all her might “Heck yeah, you did it!”
She did it all right, just like last week and the week before that. It happened again and again. Granted, her and her friends always defeated their foes with only one attack most of the time but still, this was too much! When she began her training, she didn’t think this would happen!
“Darling, you’re just splendid!” Rarity urged, hugging her front leg.
With a huffy sigh, Fluttershy fell on her rump and looked over to Twilight who waved at her from the side, hovering just off the ground with her new wings. Hanging her head Fluttershy muttered a disappointed “Uh-huh” as she trotted home, leaving her friends behind.
At first, her new power was exciting. She felt strong, empowered! She was still shy of other ponies, but she had become al ot less afraid, and what did she find without fear? Boredom. She never imagined she’d miss being scare! Now, no matter what shows up, she just can’t get any adrenaline. It wasn’t just disappointing, it was sort of depressing. Still, she did her duties without fail, feeding the animals, attending friendship council, hoofing the monsters that roamed out of the forest. Maybe they were just weak creatures! Timberwolves were fragile, and her friends could handle a Bugbear on their own before. Only if something more interesting would show up…
“Come one, come all!” a familiar, overtly proud voice rang out as Fluttershy laid lazily on her couch “As Trixie does the impossible, beats the unbeatable.”
One thing to note, that despite being far from town, Fluttershy’s ears still tingled with the mares loud voice “Oh no.” Fluttershy huffed, rolling onto her back, instead of her belly, as she listened in.
“Today, Trixie will show the full extent of her power, today Trixie will defeat…” Fluttershy shot up ‘Please don’t say Ursa Major, PLEASE don’t say-’ “An Ursa Major!” Fluttershy’s eyes twitched as she felt the ground shake beneath her
“This isn’t exactly what I had in mind…” she muttered to herself before getting more comfortable “Maybe it’s just the Minor… shouldn’t let her pick on a baby, but I’m sure she’s fine.”
“That’s right,” the Showmare continued amongst the sounds of screaming and panicking “An Ursa Major, emphasis on Major as I’ve kidnapped and shrunk the Ursa Minor to lure it here.”
Fluttershy’s mouth hung open as she felt her soul leave her body out of sheer exasperation. ‘She didn’t.’ she thought as the Ursa Major’s roar echoed through the town. Putting on her dish glo- combat gloves and cape, not a big towel, a cape, she ran out the door, knocking it clear off the hinges as she moved with enough force to move the trees. Stopping dead in her tracks, the sheer force of wind kicking up dirt, she watched Trixie as she lifted blades, stones and other things and flung them at the Major, surprisingly seeming to harm the creature as it stumbled.
Watching it stumble, Fluttershy noticed a small filly in its path. Like a lightning bolt she picked up the filly and returned her to her mother before moving the citizens out of the way. Now she looked up to watch Trixie flying around effortlessly, launching a flurry of energy bolts at it. By now, the girls had shown up “They hay are you doing Trixie!” Twilight shouted
“Proving her magical might!” she shouted pushing the beast on it’s back with a magical wave “She is the greatest magician and she will prove it!” she announced, rising above the creature and launching a flurry of magical bolts at it. Now angered the creature rose once more, shrugging off the attacks before smashing it’s paw into the show mare, sending her careening into the ground.
Rushing to her aid, Dash left the monster to the others as she checked on the idiotic performer who rose from her crater, blood staining her mane and teeth as the others engaged the Ursa “No, you will not take this from me!” she announced, exploding with energy enough to blow her friends back and even wound the Ursa “Take this! Galaxy Star, Trixie’s amazing final show!” she shouted her attack as a massive star like ball of energy formed on her horn, blasting into the Ursa’s chest with enough force to lifted it off its feet into the air as it flew back several feet. The beast twitched and roared in pain as it’s starry flesh twisted and charred from the force of the attack With a final roar the attack finished, the creature lying on it’s back as smoke rose frim it’s body. Proud smile on her face the showmare struck a pose and said “A spectacular performance!” she huffed weakly, still keeping her air of ego and self importance
Staring dead eyed at the mare, Fluttershy shrugged her shoulders ‘Guess she did it.’ she thought as she turned to leave.
“Ohohoho! Trixie is certainly-” she began to bolster as the Ursa rose behind her, causing the mare to look up in wide eyed terror, tears flowing down her cheeks “But that was Trixie’s killer move…” and as the monster lowered its paw it turned to look at Fluttershy who walked at it, head turned down, shadows heavy over her face desptie the sunny day. Retching slightly, Trixie coughed into her hoof “Oh, Fluttershy right? Oh wow, um, Trixie hears that mare pattern baldness is a… is all the rage nowadays.”
Fluttershy blinked, head tilted to one side as she looked at the showmare. “Huh?” she questioned as the Ursa brought it’s paw down on the small yellow mare, shattering the stones to dust beneath her
“No! Oh Trixie was a fool, and now, that poor sweet mare is…” she stopped to stare as, when the Ursa raised it’s paw again Flutters remained stock still, blinking at Trixie, face showing the same expression a child would make if asked to calculate the mass of the moon to the 34th power.
With a roar, the Ursa raised to full size and prepared to smash her “You’re too loud.” Fluttershy mentioned as she reared back, launching into the air, laying a single hoof into the creature's chest as it literally exploded, bits of it’s massive body, including guts, fur, skin and even one of it’s eyes rained over the town in messy heaps. Looking to the showmare who now looked on in sheer disbelief, Fluttershy said “I’m sorry, I didn’t hear you. What’d you say?” Trixie fainted on the spot, confusing Fluttershy “Huh…?”
