The Alicornby NecrophageChaptersThe StampedeThe RunThe TalkThe StampedeWhen my work shift ended the sun was already setting. Turbulent asked me to meet him at a little wooden outpost tower in the outskirts of Fonda. The tower was our favorite place to hang out after a long work day, we did ever since we were colts. When I finally got there Turbulent was hovering above the building as he was waiting for me. It was the same as I always remember, cracked windows, crooked door mantels, and chipping paint. We loved it. He landed on the grass as he saw me galloping up the hill. “Sorry to keep you waiting, but I’m finally here!” I wheezed. He didn’t look surprised, “ I don’t blame you, covering all of that land must have been exhausting.” I couldn’t of teleported here using my magic, since I’ve been using my horn all day to levitate wood and chop down trees. It always needs a little downtime. “But that’s beside the point, I’ll meet you at the top.” He said. A few moments later I opened the hatch to the flat roof, then I trotted over to Turbulent, “The stars are really shining tonight.” I said, intrigued. “To bad we can’t go up there.” “I’ve tried, I went far above the cloud layer, then-“ I interrupted. “You passed out and broke both of your wings.” I chuckled. “Grounded for two weeks, the weather team wasn’t so happy.” “If only we could reach them, and get away from this isolated town for once.” sighed Turbulent. Fonda never traded or even interacted with other settlements. We grow all of our food and build all of our houses with no help from any other towns, Fonda is all of the world we know other than the unreachable stars. Several minutes passed only with my friend and I gazing longingly at the cosmos. It was almost nine o’clock and I figured I should be heading home, “Sorry Turbulent, but I gotta go.” “Okay, do you want to meet up here again next week?” he asked. “Sure, I’ll see you-“ but as I was about to finish my sentence, I saw something on the horizon, black dots, some hovering and others on the ground. “What are you staring at Crimson?” he asked as he also turned his head to the west, he was probably as dumbfounded as I was, nothing has ever arrived at the town, much less an entire herd. As the dots got closer, their shapes became more defined, they were ponies, but not ones we have seen before. All of them were pitch black, with translucent wings, fangs, bug-like eyes, holes in their hooves, and a horn much like a Unicorn’s, but curved upward. Turbulent and I exchanged looks, all I knew was that our lives would never be the same ever again. The RunThere was a few moments of silence only with he and I staring at the huge stampede until we saw large, green, magical beams of light shooting out of the horns of a few of the raging ponies. The beams struck the base of the tower with a large explosion, all of the wood supports snapped and left everything above it plummeting to the ground, including me. I fell, seemingly to my demise, but in the night sky I see a streak of silver racing towards my falling body. It was Turbulent saving my life, he caught me, but with the addend weight flying wasn’t the easiest thing. We hit the ground roughly, but it was better than falling from a three story building. We were scraped up and a little dazed, but we had to run, run from those monsters, run from home. “We have to tell the others!” Turbulent commanded, “Go to every house, bust down the doors, and get them out!” he screamed over the destruction of our town. He paused and looked straight into my blue eyes,“Goodbye.” he said quietly, time seemed to slow down, “Goodbye.” I said, remembering all the things we have done together, all of the years we have been through, leaving my best friend, “I will find you, no matter what.” he spoke, then he took off to guide the ponies out of town. Just as he said, I galloped to inform the citizens of Fonda, I kicked the doors down, rushed the families out until there was no more. The army was advancing, green lasers destroying all in their way. I could only hope that Turbulent was alive, away, safe. When no pony was in their homes, I gathered them all up in a herd and guided the entire population east, to the Ruins. It was the only direction not swarmed by the beasts, but that quickly changed when the abominations flew above the crowd and started making a perimeter around the herd. “Run!” I screamed, galloping as fast as I could to an opening that wasn’t covered in black. The magical beams they shot at the crowd missed me by a hair and seared my skin, the others, not so lucky. I heard blood curdling screams and fizzling of flesh. I could not look at what I heard, and with all of my might and effort, teleported to a nearby valley, still running, leaving all that I loved, my life-long friend, my town, and my life. I was running to a place that no pony has ever witnessed before, Equestria. The TalkThe rolling hills of Unicorn Range, most ponies only dream of being here, with the Smokey Mountains to the south and Galloping Gorge northern, it’s a sight that would be fit for royalty. Yet I, Crimson Dawn, see these wonders every day in the quiet town of Fonda. I had a bright orange coat paired with a vivid red mane. My cutie mark was a red rhombus, no one knows what it means... In the heat of the sun, hauling a cart full of wood, my friend, Turbulent Storm swooped down from the sky. He was a silvery Pegasus with a lightning blue mane and a thunder cloud for a cutie mark. “How’s the day going Crimson?” he asked enthusiastically . “Good, but The Ruins are still bothering me.” I responded solemnly, looking to the west. “They’ve been untouched for thousands of moons, their nothing more than a bunch of crumpled buildings and lousy castle.” he said uninterested. “But that’s the problem, it couldn’t just of been an ordinary settlement. No pony justs builds a town up on the face of a mountain!” I cried. “You do have a good point, but all of that is beyond our understanding. No pony knows what Equestria was before Fonda was founded.” he replied. Turbulent was right, all we know is that some ponies from around Equestria came together and built a town for all, Earth Ponies, Pegasi, and Unicorns alike. But the founders went missing about forty moons ago, no pony knows how, or where. The only thing that is certain about these mysterious ponies is that there was six of them, two Earth Ponies, two Pegasi, a Unicorn, yet none of us know what or who the seventh one was. Turbulent broke the silence, “Well, we better get back to work. We don’t need to worry about the Ruins at the moment.” “Okay I’ll see you at the end of the shift.” I said solemnly.
