Even farther from home
The first step
Previous ChapterNext Chapter- Thats how many times I rewrote this chapter before giving up and settling on this. I sorta lost the flow I used to have when I first started writing this story, but I will finish it sooner or later. Most likely later since we're not even at the halfway mark of the story. Enough of my rambling though, enjoy this short chapter.

As the morning sun rose over the majestic hilltops, its warm and inviting rays roused you from your sleep. Parting your eyes slightly, you stretched your limbs and felt major relief as many pops and cracks accompanied your movements. Setting your eyes on the ground below, you noticed many burnt patches of grass, but other than that there was no evidence of the night before.
'It seems that there is no trace of my assailants. Good.'
Rolling off the branch you were perched on, you landed on all fours as you hit the ground. Steadying yourself up, you examined the placement of the sun and made a guess of the time.
'Sevenish? Eh, it does not matter. Time to go and see the rest of those little ponies.'
Getting rid of the stiffness in your legs, you continued your walk towards Twilight's home. As you walked through the streets of Ponyville, they were rather empty excluding the early risers who were either going to work or setting up their stands to sell merchandise. Most ponies you passed either gave you a warm smile or waved a hoof at you like the day before. One particular mint unicorn however examined you rather closely with curiosity. Shaking off the creepy feeling, you spotted the familiar tree library in the distance. Quickening your pace, you jogged the rest of the way until you were in front of her oak door. Remembering what happened last time you knocked on her door, you cautiously knocked before taking a few steps back, expecting the worst. As the door opened, you were greeted by Twilight with a disheveled mane and bags under her eyes.
"Where were you!?", she practically shouted at you.
'This won't end well...'
