//-------------------------------------------------------// Dr. Tex and the Conversion Serum. -by Doctor Tex- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// The Science Assignment //-------------------------------------------------------// The Science Assignment Dr. Tex and the Conversion Serum. Chapter 1: The Science Assignment I was awoken by the sound of my alarm clock. I always hated the thing, beeping away every five minutes when I try to turn it off. As I tried (without success) to turn off the cause of the infernal sounding noise at the foot of my bed, I got up and slammed my hand on it. I thought it was done, so I laid back down......only for it to start back up five minutes later. I got up and unplugged the machine. It finally stopped for today, unless Mom decided to plug it back in. I should probably start with who I am. I am Doctor Vohr T. Tex, Vortex Master. I have parents, a school to go to, simple homework, and of course, many friends. I have a life outside the one I usually have. The life of Tex was usually filled with Dimension Hopping, Space travel, fighting evil overlords, etc. But this is the life of Dave. A normal boy who lives his life in the countryside. I like adventure and whatnot, but sometimes I just want to unwind. Anyways, back to the story. I got up and got dressed. I put on some Jeans and a Creeper Anatomy shirt, along with my fedora. I walked downstairs to find that I was the only one up. Well, it WAS 6:00 in the morning, of course they'd be asleep. I went as my usual business, taking out a carton of milk and a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch. A healthy body equals a healthy mind, right? Well, I need a healthy mind for Middle school, so yeah. I ate my breakfast when Mom came downstairs. "Hi honey!" she said in that cheerful tone that NO ONE could frown at. "How was your morning?" "Meh, it was normal as usual." I replied. "You ask me that like I'm gonna go on a great adventure every morning." "Well, considering that you travel the cosmos in your spare time, I don't see why you would be here eating cereal." "Here I am, on my pastime, just going to school. Well, I will have all weekend to travel." "Oh, right!" She exclaimed. "It's Friday, ain't it?" "Right on the money! Now, I'd better pack up, or else I'm gonna be late!" Realizing that I wasted an hour eating and talking, I rushed upstairs. It seemed that my brother had already left for school, because his bed was as empty as the void, and probably his stomach (he didn't eat breakfast, so I guess school breakfast for him will have to do.). I went and put my Planner and Folders into my bookbag, and rushed off to the bus. "Goodbye, Dave!" I heard my mom say before I boarded the giant yellow rectangular prism. The day was as normal. I went to homebase. Nothing typically happens there, just to take attendance, say the Pledge, and the Honor Code. My first period was Math, we had a test that I did pretty well on. Then we had English and World studies, we just watched movies for study. Afterwards, we went to lunch. It was then that I met up with Drew. He's an old friend of mine. His Agent name is Professor Nique, though I just call him Drew. He was NOT as subtle as I was in choice of clothes. He was wearing his long white lab coat with a red scarf. I was just stuck with a shirt that explains how a fictional enemy explodes! He sat down next to me. "Hey Doc," he said. "So, how was your day?" "Pretty well. I'm pretty sure I got an A on the math test." "Oh, is that so? Well, anyways, how about we talk about other things?" The next half hour was just us talking about Undertale, how Sans could potentially be Ness, me hating that theory because of the fragile credibility of Game Theory, and, before we knew it, we were back to class. However, the normal day ended at the end of our only class we have together, Science. Our science teacher asked us to come up to his desk. We did so. "Now then," he said calmly. "I have some extra credit for you two. Mr. Johnson asked you to study these." He held up two testing tubes full of some strange, purple, thick liquid. "You are the best at chemistry. I have little doubt that you can solve this." "But, what exactly is it?" Drew asked. "Well, I'm not too sure. It doesn't show up on the Periodic Table. What I'm questioning the most, however, is what this stuff does. I don't want it to be tested on my students, so I'm leaving it up to you. You will need to put your findings on a PowerPoint, and it is due Monday. Dismissed!" As the class walked out of the classroom, I started to ponder about the strange liquid. Well, I guess I'll study it at home. The rest of the day was as usual. When we got on the bus to head home, Drew and I started talking again. Only this time, it was about the liquid. "So," he said. "This is the stuff we need to devote out weekend to?" "I guess so...but, what is it?" "I don't know, but it smell familiar..." He took a whiff of the scent coming from the tube. His head immediately drew back. "WHOO, that is some nasty stuff right there!" As he got off the bus, I started to wonder why this was so familiar. I had seen and smelled it too before, but when, and where? Then, I got off the bus, and walked home. What does it mean? //-------------------------------------------------------// The Lab //-------------------------------------------------------// The Lab Chapter 2: The Lab. Tex's Laboratory As I walked into the basement lab of my house, I took one last look at the Testing Tube. The purple liquid still looked as familiar as before. The lab was filled with all sorts of equipment. A microscope for examining small cells, a hot plate for burning chemicals for reactions, shelves of chemicals used for mixing, and a generator as a separate power source from the house's power line. I came to a table in the center of the room, filled with beakers, test tube holders, and the microscope I mentioned earlier. I set the test tube in the aforementioned test tube holder, and then my dad called my up for dinner. As we ate dinner, my dad started a conversation. "So, what were you doing down there, anyway?" "I was told to study a strange chemical over the weekend." I replied. "I'm guessing that the school staff are just as clueless about it as I am!" "See? I told you that it would happen eventually!" Mom exclaimed. "I knew that something unexpected might happen." "Really, Mom? Anyways, Drew and I were given this chemical for research purposes, yet we cant find anything useful about them. It seems that NO ONE knows what it is or where it came from." "Is that so?" Dad said. "I'd love to see what you come up with." "Well," I said, finishing up my spaghetti. "I had better continue my research." I walked back down to the lab. Of course, everything was still exactly where it was when I left. The tube was still there, the microscope......scoping, and the generator was powered on, making tiny little humming noises as to not draw attention. Don't want the neighbors finding my lab, now do we? I took the test tube and popped the cork off the top. It reeked as before. I poured the liquid into the beaker. I noticed how it came out of the tube, it was coming out very slowly, like ketchup coming out of a glass bottle (WHO THOUGHT THAT WAS A GOOD IDEA?!). It was very thick, and it made an audible "PLOP" when it slammed into the beaker. I took the tongs from the self and picked up the beaker, feeling just how heavy it was. Apparently, it was also very dense, too. I walked over to the hot plate, turned it on, and let the beaker rest upon it. I turned around and went to my computer, putting in the notes I have acquired so far. Tex's notes: Strange Liquid. The Professor and I were given these strange tubes full of liquid. It smelled very familiar, but that is all that is known about it. We were given a task, to create a PowerPoint based on our research of this substance. Guess the hike to Spruce Knob will have to wait.....again. As I had finished, the beaker behind me was making all sorts of weird noises. "Huh?" It looked like it was about to explode. Cautious, I took the tongs and took the beaker off the hot plate. It was boiling. "Well, this is certainly strange. It had only been 45 seconds, and it has ALREADY boiled?" I knew that this was no ordinary chemical. Then, I remembered something. There was an old scanner in the corner of the room. Yes, that will give me the answers! When it cooled down, I took the beaker over to the machine, placed it inside, and powered it on. It was making all sorts of beeps and boops and weird noises, until I got results. I was stunned by what I saw on the monitor. SUBSTANCE IDENTIFIED: CONVERSION SERUM! THIS SUBSTANCE WAS USED AROUND 800 YEARS INTO THE FUTURE. FORMULA: HUMAN DNA+THAUMATIC ENERGY=PONY DNA. THIS SERUM ALLOWS THE CONSUMER TO TRANSFORM INTO A PONY. SIDE EFFECTS INCLUDE: NAUSEA, BALANCE ISSUES, DIFFERENT DIETS, GROWTH OF WINGS OR HORN, STRONG PAIN FROM SKELETAL RECONSTRUCTION, INABILITY TO CURSE. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS! DO NOT CONSUME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "Oh, no..." was all I said before I came rushing up the stairs, through the door, and into my room. Allen (Azie Rift) was sitting there, playing Pokémon Stadium on our N64. I rushed to the computer and tried to contact Drew. However, it seemed that he was waiting for me. "Drew," I said. "We may have a problem in the future." "I think we already have one, Doc..."I was confused until he said, "Lauren might have had an accident." "What's gonna happen to me, Tex?"I heard a little girl's voice, coming from right next to him. I didn't see anything at first. "Where is that voice coming from?" I asked. Drew didn't say anything, but panned his camera downward. When I heard the girl's voice, I thought it was Lauren. But all I saw...... .....was a little Maroon Pony. Earlier, in A.K.'s laboratory. As I walked inside, as usual, my father wasn't home. He was probably doing his paperwork at his office. That's what ya get when you're a judge. Anyway, my mom was still here, and so were my bother Will and my sister Laruen. They were playing with LEGO's at the time, so I didn't want to bother them. As I walked into the living room, my mom already had dinner cooked and sitting on the table. "So, how was school?" she asked. "Well, it was interesting, to say the least." I replied. "To be honest, why would he give us these?" "Give you what?" I showed her the Liquid. "This stuff was given to Tex and I, and we were supposed to create a PowerPoint presentation on a substance with no research done on it whatsoever." "Well, I hope I don't get that kind of assignments when I go to middle school." said Will. Both he and Laruen were still in elementary school. "This seems hard." "This was given only to Tex and I. Why Mr. Johnson would entrust these to us, I might never know." "Well can we drink it? Can we, can we?" Will said. "No, dear, you cannot drink something that doesn't belong to you." My mom spoke up. "Remember the last time when you drank all of Drew's Mountain Dew?" This lead the two young siblings to shut up and walk away. "Now then, I'm willing to bet you're going to study this as soon as possible, correct?" "You bet, Mom." I said, finishing up my salad. "I'd better get started." And with that, I walked over to the door that leads to the lab. Looking upon the dark area, I flipped the light switch to reveal all the stuff we collected over the years in our journey across space. I went over to my workbench and started to perform tests for chemical reactions. Needless to say, it was rather explosive. I mean, it nearly exploded! Good thing I have a cooler down here! After 2 hours of tests, I started to feel a pressure in my gut. Uh oh... I had forgotten that we had burritos for lunch at school. I immediately rushed to the bathroom, and started my business. After a good 10 minutes of constipation and relief, I walked back into the lab. However, something was off. The Microscope was still there, with the cell from the liquid, the hot plate was still sizzling, due to me using it on tests for the liquid, and the liquid was still there. But something was still off. Taking a closer look at said liquid, it was then that I noticed the difference. A quarter of it was gone, and a tiny bit of it was stuck on the top. Someone must have drank it! "Oh, no. OH NONONONONONONONONO!!!!!" I rushed to and fro all around the lab, looking for anyone who might have drank it. The I heard a quiet sobbing in the Time Capsule room. I walked in and found something shocking. Laruen was sitting there, crying her eyeballs out. I didn't see anything wrong, until I got closer. Her legs were fully exposed, and looked VERY different. Her legs were...maroon.....and had no feet, just a circle at the end. Then I noticed why she was crying, the changes were coming up all over her arms. They were covered in the same maroon fur as her legs, while her hands suddenly bloated! He fingers were shrinking into the palms, forming a similar circle like where her feet had once been. She still hasn't noticed me, despite me gasping loudly. Her face contorted and her eyes were suddenly HUGE! Her ears were pulled upward and were more triangular. Her face was pulled outward, complete with all of her head being covered with the same maroon fur. I immediately recognized what had happened. She drank the Conversion Serum, and turned into a pony. So THAT'S why it stank so bad. It was the same serum from the TCB wars! I went over to comfort her, and she finally noticed my presence. I asked her what had happened. She said that she was a bit mischievous and snuck into my lab. I was on the loo at the time. She apparently found the serum and was jealous that she couldn't drink the "grape juice", even though she was told specifically not to by both me and mom. She drank it, and she saw that her body was changing a good 2 minutes in. She was horrified and ran to the nearest secluded area, the Capsule Chamber. And I already knew the rest. However, Tex doesn't. He probably should. We snuck up the stairs and into the living room. It was very dark, given that it was nearly nighttime. Laruen stumbled a bit, due to the fact that she was still walking on two legs. We made it to the computer room, where I perform my operations for TexTek. I saw that Tex was already calling. I clicked on the answer button. "Drew," the Halcandrean said. "We may have a problem in the future." "I think we already have one, Doc..." I replied. He had a look of confusion on his face. "Laruen might have had an accident." Then, she wondered about something and asked him, "What's gonna happen to me, Tex?" He had a look of confusion. I looked at the video feedback. Laruen was so small now that the normal camera angle couldn't see her. "Where is that voice coming from?" I took the camera and panned it down to Laruen, now a maroon unicorn. "Oh..."
