//-------------------------------------------------------// Weather Control -by ArtHeart- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Overworking //-------------------------------------------------------// Overworking I can do this. Rainbow Dash could feel the wind in her mane, with cold sweat running down her forehead as she was flying through the clouds. At that moment, she was at what was most likely the most important thing she was doing in her life. She was in a race- not just any race, but everypony in Cloudsdale came to see her. But she couldn't fly forever, while her wings felt like they have been crushed multiple times- not to mention cramps in the back. She was exhausted, yes, but nothing was going to stop her now. Up ahead, she could see two rows of clouds right next to each other. Judging by the looks of it, in between them made a tight space that Dash could not fit through. If she failed this course of the competition, her entire life would be lost. But just as things couldn't get any worse, she suddenly bumped into a cloud which sent her flying in the opposite direction she was trying to go. Somehow, she couldn't get her wings to fly the other way against the overwhelming wind pushing her back. Unfortunately for Dash, she was also headed straight for a crowd of pegasi with terror and fear on their faces. Please don't slam, please don't slam...... SLAM! Rainbow had bumped into that crowd of pegasi, causing them to fall one by one. Behind them, she realized she had broken a wall in the stadium. The pegasi successfully gotten safely back to the arena with their wings. The whole stadium angrily stared at her with feelings of hatred. Dash felt nervous again, with everyone starting at her with endless anger. But they wouldn't stop. They just stared on and on, with no end- just blank, angry expressions. Things couldn't possibly get any worse now. But with a bang, Dash's wings have disappeared. She could feel herself falling to the ground, with nothing left to do about it. It was all over. The only thing she could do now was die....... RING! RING! RING! .... "Ugh..." Rainbow Dash yawned. It was Monday morning. The hardest part of her week. "Nothing like a good old nightmare to start off the week," she muttered to herself, softly but clearly. Dash turned her head to glance at her alarm clock, which was clear to see even with her blurred vision. 6:57 AM As the blue pegasus slowly crept out of her cloud shaped bed, the mare could see Celestia's rays of sun filling her room up in the sky. After adjusting to the light, she walked towards her pale pink colored bathroom. She brushed her teeth, replacing the morning-breath with scents of mint. She brushed her hair to adjust her messy mane to her signature style. After her hygiene matters were attended, she put on her pure-white uniform for work. Ah, work. The place she never wanted to go. (Unless extra raises, of course) Working at the Weather Central Headquarters could be fun sometimes, but it gets in the way of her free time. All the parties she was invited to-she had to reject. Every movie premiere- she had to miss. Overall almost every outing that her friends are planning, she can't come due to getting to bed on time. I mean, you need energy to work for 9 hours a day, right? It was the same thing every weekday: Work, dinner, sleep. A never ending, endless cycle of boredom. As Dash headed out the door, she took her normal route to the Weather Central Headquarters. She made sure she had everything- uniform, ID badge, extra cloud tubes for pulling water out of the clouds, all that stuff. She flew across the air above the homes of Ponyville, as the sun was finally going up in the dawn sky with faded stars. Dash could see Cloudsdale in the distance, and the headquarters just behind the weather factory. When she finally arrived, she walked into the main hall with multiple pegasi, in groups, working on the snowflakes. After all, it was almost winter season. Inside one of the rooms she arrived to be greeted by her boss, Razor Wind. Seeing how she was the last one to arrive, Razor Wind began to speak in a serious, but soft tone. "Now that everyone has made their attendance," Said the light yellow mare with violet hair. "Their is currently a drought occurring in Ponyville, which means that the rain schedule is behind. Some of you have been slacking." Dash hoped and hoped that Razor wouldn't issue a big group project about the drought. This was a big deal. "Rainbow Dash," Razor Wind stated. Dash was a nervous wreck. What if she gave her a hard task? "You will supervise everyone in the group making the rain clouds. Make sure nopony goofs off. As for the rest of you, work on getting water to the clouds." A job about just watching, AND getting to be the boss? Sweet! She thought. "You may now go outside and preform your duties. Rainbow Dash, fly near the cloud above the Cloud Hall." "On it," Dash Replied. With all the other workers in their positions, Dash headed to the top of the cloud. All she had to do was watch everyone, making sure they did everything right. But this was her chance to boss around other ponies. "CLOUD SWIFT!" she yelled to a brown pesgsus colt. "You're putting too much water into that cloud." "But Green Breeze already put water in it, and I thought I should put more since it looked empty," The colt replied. "Idiots," Dash thought. ... When she returned home, she felt once again exhausted. For once she realized that some of her co-workers can be as clueless as an infant. How can they not know how to clear the clouds? Obviously, this easy "job" was not for her at all- she would rather be kicking clouds like the weekends. Speaking of weekends, Dash felt that she does nothing on her two-day break. Just floating on clouds- never seeing her friends anymore. Maybe this weekend she could socialize a bit. With that being said, she was off to bed, ready for anything that happens the next day.
