//-------------------------------------------------------// Springtrapped -by Lord_Evil- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Getting Fitted (Prologue) //-------------------------------------------------------// Getting Fitted (Prologue) Trevor slumped down in his work chair, wiping a decently accumulated amount sweat from his forehead. He leaned back in his chair, using his leg to make him spin around in a circle. His work place wasn't exactly small, in fact it was the exact opposite. This place was so big he didn't know what to do with it. Luckily he didn't have to work here alone; his best friend and work partner, Spring Lock, was always there to keep him company. He was an older stallion, he was definitely older than Trevor, but somehow they managed to form that special kind of bond that one would usually get from spending too much time with their grandparent. So in short, they would bicker at each other, throw a few insults around, then laugh about it like it was nothing. His age most certainly showed though; he was almost fifty now and his brown coat was a bit dull compared to it's former glory and his mane had streaks of silver in that black rats nest. Seriously, he could have sworn that Spring Lock was going for the Doc Brown look. He found that to be pretty hilarious. Speaking of things that were comical, his cutie mark gave Trevor quite the comedic edge. Most ponies he met had names that corresponded to their cutie mark, however, Spring Lock's did to a point. Rather than his cutie mark being and image of an actual spring lock, it was simply a metal spring with a padlock on it. Spring Lock mimic the actions of his friend, Trevor. Plopping down on his work chair to take a break from toying around with the bits of metal. He let his body sink into the seat as he looked over at his spinning friend. He never would have believed that humans actually existed if it wasn't for Trevor. Hell, if you had told him two years ago that he would befriend a tall, bipedal creature with pale skin and dark hair that dressed like he was a greaser, he probably would have slapped you before dropping you off at the nearest rehab center. But he couldn't deny it now, it was far too late. He looked pass his human friend and down at the cooler by his chair, using his magic to open it and pull out a bottle of hard cider. Trevor spotted the floating bottle, and as per routine, grabbed it from the air and pressed the cap against the table before hitting it with his palm. The cap flew off of the bottle and landed on the floor, completely forgotten by the two. Once that was done he held the cold beverage out towards his old friend only for it to be levitated from his grip. He then reached into the cooler and grabbed one for himself, repeating the opening process before taking a quick drink. "Hey!" Spring Lock yelled, earning him the attention of the human. "How old are you?" He asked sternly. Trevor looked at him with a blank expression before answering with, "Twenty-one." After maybe a minute of staring each other down they could no longer hold their poker-faces. They both started laughing at the other for seeming so serious. "You lying little bastard!" Spring Lock added between chuckles. "Bite me, you old fart." He retorted, taking another drink. He was only nineteen and the drinking age here was the same as on earth, but Spring Lock really didn't mind. He just liked to give Trevor a hard time. Spring Lock took a drink from his bottle as well. "You know the rule, just make sure princess Celestia doesn't find you out. And, if she does, it didn't come from me." "If she does find out, you have my permission to punch me in the gut." He replied with a light snicker, believing that day would never happen. However, as luck would have it... "Good morning, gentlecolts." A warm, motherly voice spoke from behind them, causing the two to spit whatever was in their mouth out and jump to their feet. "Hi princess, lovely day isn't it?" Trevor asked nervously, hiding the bottle behind his back and tapping Spring Lock with one of his hands to get his attention. "Isn't it a lovely day?" Spring Lock played along out of panic, "Why, it most certainly is. If you're quiet, you can hear the birds chirping from outside." The room went silent for a moment, oh and guess what, you couldn't hear a single bird. Celestia focused her attention on the two in front of her, more specifically, the underage human who was holding something that he didn't want her to see. "Trevor, what's that behind your back?" She asked, despite already knowing what it was. "Uhh, nothing!" His hand suddenly flew up, throwing the bottle far behind him. Once it was out of sight a slight crash could be heard as the bottle struck the ground and shattered. "Nothing at all. My hand are empty." "I see that," she said with a smirk before picking him up in her magic and pulling him closer to her. "but what's that strange scent coming from your breath?" Trevor tried to speak, but fumbled his words ab bit before clearing his throat and speaking nervously. "Well, it's actually a number of things. There's the oatmeal I had for breakfast, some of the apple I had for lunch," his eyes suddenly locked onto her with a predatory gaze, "a little bit of you from last night." Celestia was caught completely off guard from his statement, causing her to both blush and release him from her magical hold, allowing him to grab her chin and give her a light kiss on her lips. "Calm down, girl. I'm just playing around." He said, before walking over to Spring Lock and leaning against the table they were working atop of. "So what did you come down here for?" After regaining her thoughts and composure Celestia straighten out and said, "I have come to see how much progress you've made on your- what do you call them, animations?" "Animatronics, princess." Spring Lock corrected. "My apologies. So how are they coming along?" She asked. "Actually," Trevor started, "they're pretty much done. All that's left is to finish Foxy's foot." Trevor reach over and grabbed a redish-brown robotic looking foot. Once the Princess got a look at it he pulled it back over to himself and grabbed a wrench to tighten a bolt on it. "That should do it." "That's wonderful. How about we go see them now." She said, walking over to a large curtained off area where they had told her the finished products would be. Before the two could walk over, Spring Lock stopped in front of Trevor and gave him a single punch to the stomach. He grunted from the pain and fell to his knew. "You...old...dick..." Spring Lock smiled and walked over to the curtain, standing beside it with his magic grabbing the bottom corners. He waited for Trevor to stumble over before lifting it though. "Celestia, I give you, the Fazbear crew!" He said, pulling the tarp away to reveal four labeled animatronic characters; Freddy, Chica, Bonnie, and Foxy. Each one stood about as tall as Celestia since they were built off of Trevor's stature to be bipedal. "Wow, they certainly are fascinating and quite adorable." She commented as she looked over the cartoony looking robots. Trevor walked over to Foxy, who seemed to be leaning a bit, and lifted him so he was standing properly while he slid the foot into place and tightened a few more bolts to make sure it would stay in place. "Alright, they're good to go. Power them on, buddy!" He yelled over to Spring Lock. With Equestria not having a whole lot going on with electricity, the animatronics were powered purely by magic. Spring Lock powered up his horn, surrounding both it and all of the characters with a silver aura. A small battery symbol appeared on their chest as they started to take in the magical energy, the symbols on them flashing with little bars to show that they were charging. When they all reached full the symbol turned green before vanishing. Their eyes suddenly lit up as they hummed to life and started looking around. Spring Lock walked in front of the bipedal bear. "Hello there." The bear's body turned toward Spring Lock before it held out a hand. "Hello, my name is Freddy Fazbear." It spoke in a calming voice that sounded as if it were coming from a phone. "Would you like to be friends?" "Of course I would." Spring Lock replied, reaching out and allowing the robot bear to gently shake his hoof. "Oh, wow..." Celestia stated in awe, "That's so-" She was suddenly cut off as something came up behind her and yelled, causing her to jump and shriek. "ARRG!!! Ahoy, matey. The name be Foxy." The pirate fox stated, holding his hook out to her. Celestia, still slightly cowering from shock, could do nothing but stare at the robotic figure. "Foxy!" A much younger sounding robotic voice called out. "Foxy, I think you should bring it down a bit, you're scaring her." "That be a load of crud!" The fox shouted to the small robot bunny. "Foxy," another voice came, this one sounding female, "I know you did not mean to, but you have scared this poor mare." The pirate fox looked at Celestia before realizing his mistake. "Arrg, you be right. I guess I should bring down me volume a bit. You have me most sincerest apologies Princess." "Oh?" She she questioned, staring at the fox. "You know who I am." "Naturally." Trevor started as he walked over. "They are programmed to recognize royalty. You see, we put little cards in their heads that allows them to scan faces and save them. That way if they meet the same pony twice they will recognize them. They also have been programmed with knowledge on a number of subjects. Foxy knows all about geography and sea life, Chica knows about animal care and baking, Bonnie is great with decoration as well as staying trendy, and Freddy knows about wildlife. Finally; just as a little treat for the kids, each one of them is programmed to know over one hundred different stories. Both fiction and non." "My, my, aren't we the little brainiacs?" She said to the two workers. Bonnie looked over at Trevor and walked over to him. "Wow, Trevor, you look tired." "So do you, Mr. Spring Lock." Chica followed up. "Arrg! And you both be a dirty as pirates rollin in dirt" Foxy chimed. Out of nowhere Freddy appeared and put an arm around both of them. "You both look like you could use some rest." Celestia couldn't help but giggle like a filly, she was really starting to like these thing. "I agree, you both have been working so hard. At the very least, you deserve a good nights rest and a shower." "Oh, believe me Princess, I would love nothing more." Spring Lock started, "But, there is one last piece to this puzzle that I would like to show you." Both Celestia and Trevor looked over at Spring Lock with slight confusion. "I'm sorry, what?" He asked, not having a clue what his old friend was referring to. "You see, as we have been working on our wonderful new friends I have been working on a little side project." He explained. "I thought that if we could build these animatronics than why not make something more...biologically advanced." "Spring, buddy. You're starting to sound like a mad scientist, okay...and I really don't know how to feel about it." Trevor said out of concern for his old friend. Was he finally going senile? Spring Lock let out and annoyed sigh before motioning for them to follow him. "Just come with me and I will show you." Celestia and Trevor eyed each other for a second before complying and following Spring Lock to the back of the large room, leaving the animatronics to talk and play with each other. Once they reached the back they came to a door that they had never used before, or so Trevor thought. Spring Lock opened the door and flipped a switch, turning on the lights in the room. The small area was filled with metals of all kind, tools scattered across the floor and up against the wall was another Bonnie, this one slightly more masculine looking, a bit thicker around the limbs, and painted to look like gold. Both Celestia's and Trevor's jaws dropped as they stared at it in awe. Spring Lock stood in front of the suit with a cocky smile plastered on his face. "Behold, ladies and gentlecolts. I give you, Spring Bonnie." The room was silent for just a moment longer, before Trevor decided to ruin it with words that made Spring Locks smile turn into an annoyed frown. "I don't get it. Why did you build another Bonnie...and why is he...different?" Spring Lock let out a sigh and moved closer to the animatronic, pulling a crank out of the side of the leg and winding it, causing the Bonnie to open up, revealing a space where a humanoid figure could slide in. "This is no ordinary Bonnie, this is Spring Bonnie. An animatronic I designed to be worn as a suit. I made it as a thank you gift for helping me with this project." Trevor looked up at the suit then back down to his friend. "Spring Lock...you really didn't have to do anything for-" "Oh, but I did. If it wasn't for you and your knowledge of mechanics, as well as physical advantages that I do not harbor, this little dream of mine would still just be another useless thought in the back of my mind. So with this suit, I say thank you my dear friend." As he finished he could feel a single tear run down his cheek. Spring Lock had always had a soft spot for foals and wanted to do something to change the world by making them happy. If it wasn't for Trevor, his dream would never have come true. Trevor smiled before feeling a nudge against his shoulder. "What are you waiting for?" Celestia asked, "Go try it on. I'm curious to see what my little human looks like as a big bunny." The three of them chuckled a bit before Trevor walked over and climbed into the Spring Bonnie. "So how exactly did you do this?" He asked as Spring Lock started turning the crank to close the suit. "I built it as a normal animatronic, but I removed the endo-skeleton. However, there wouldn't be enough room so I had to expand the pieces with a bit of magic, then I started using this little thing I made that I call a spring lock. When I turn this crank the spring locks release and allow it to open. When I close it the spring locks will reattach and hold the suit shut." Once the suit was shut he walked in front of it to get a quick look before he continued. "Seems to be fitted perfectly. Good." He went back over and continued turning the crank. "It's gotten quite the nickname though, since the spring locks like to act up sometimes." "What are you blabbering about old man?" He asked with a light laugh. Spring Lock rolled his eyes as he continued his story. "The co-workers I had helping me build this and run it through tests called it Springtrap." "Why would they call it that?" Celestia asked. "Because the suit would malfunction from time to time, causing the spring locks to snap and either make the suit fly open or seal it shut. More often then not though we spet hours trying to get it open, so they started calling it Springtrap because they felt it would trap whoever went in." "Thanks, that's reassuring." Trevor started, "I mean, you're only waiting until I'm in this thing to tell me that." "Yes, that was intentional." Spring Lock said, earning him a glare from the human. "Don't be such a baby. I've been testing it daily for weeks now and their has not been a single-" There was a light snapping noise that came from the leg of the suit as the crank broke, "incident...whoops." "Nice job old man." Trevor started moving his arms around. It felt weird at first, but it was pretty cool. He took a step forward to get his footing right, but almost fell over. "Holy crap, this is awesome!" "I'm sure it is, but we should probably try to get it off. Now that the crank broke I'm going to need to replace it. I didn't hear the spring locks go off so the suit should not be sealed. Just give it a tug and it should open." Trevor grabbed the chest of the suit and started pulling, but nothing happened. "Dammit, this thing is really stuck in place." "And so the loving Spring Bonnie is overpowered by the Springtrap once more...I'll see what I can do." Spring Lock said as he started digging through his tools. Celestia walked over to Trevor who was still pulling at the suit. "Looks like you've got yourself in quite the bind, don't you?" "Bite me." He said, grabbing the mask and lifting it up with little effort. "Hey, buddy! The face came off, but that's all I got so far." The unicorn kept his attention on his equipment as he dug around and searched. "Just keep trying, I haven't found the right tool yet." The alicorn leaned over the jaw of the mask, planting a loving kiss on Trevor's lips. Once broken she scanned the suit with her eyes, wondering if maybe she could get it off. "Let me try something really quick." Celestia focused her magic on the suit, enveloping it in a golden hue. Spring Lock, having finally found the tool he needed, turned around to see the Princess using her magic on the suit. "Wait, Princess! If you do that the suit will-" A light humming came from the suit as a small battery symbol appeared on its chest, "power on..." Celestia ceased her magical actions, but it was too late. As the suit powered on with what little charge it had it started to compress against Trevor's body, gripping him tightly within it. The sudden pressure of the suit started a chain reaction, causing the spring locks within to snap and break off in different directions, most of which were digging into Trevor's flesh. He screamed in pain as the golden Bonnie suit started to literally tear him apart, causing thick red puddles to form below him. He started grabbing at the suit and pulling harder, desperate to get it off. He didn't stop fighting, that was until the spring locks in the mask caused it to snap shut and drive small chunks of metal into his face. As the springs continued to break all about the contraption Trevor's body finally got to the point where it couldn't function which made his body collapse to the floor, most of his blood was either leaking through the suit or already on the ground. As the life quickly started to fade from him he could hear Celestia screaming in horror, and with how he landed, he could see his best friend standing still with wide eyes, unable to move from the shock. Then finally, the world around him faded to black and the pain was gone. //-------------------------------------------------------// Uneasy Discoveries //-------------------------------------------------------// Uneasy Discoveries The bell above the door chimed as another pony entered Sugarcube Corner. The colorful pastry shop was absolutely buzzing with business today as ponies from all over town filled up its entirety. At one table sat six familiar mares, the bearers of the elements of harmony. Sitting among one another they chatted about their daily lives and recent events. It had been almost a week since they had all gotten together like this and it became quite a trip down memory lane as they started to reminisce on the past and their accomplishments, mostly because Rainbow Dash enjoys bringing them up as well as how awesome she was during their struggles. However, everypony's conversations were stopped dead in their tracks as a small group of young fillies and colts slammed the door open. All eyes were on the group of smiling ponies and before a second could pass a colt by the name Pipsqueak stepped out from the fray. "Attention everypony! They are back," he yelled excitedly, "the Fazbear crew has finally returned!" He finished, charging out of the shop with ponies, both young and old alike, following close behind him. The six elements remained seated however, Twilight shooting a questioning glare at her friends who all seemed pretty excited. "Um, guys? What's the Fazbear crew?" All eyes were now on her. Applejack leaned close to Twilight with as much shock in her eyes as everypony else at the table. "You don't know about the Fazbear crew? I thought everypony knew." "Well I don't." Twilight simply stated, "What are they." Fluttershy took the stand, putting on an adorable face as she spoke. "Oh, they are just the cutest things. They're animatronic animals that used to play with all of the little ponies. I especially liked Freddy, he reminds me of Berry the bear." Rainbow Dash huffed at Fluttershy. "Seriously? How can you like Freddy when Foxy is clearly the coolest one out of all of them?" Suddenly the mischievous Pinkie Pie rose from under the table to give her feedback as well so she could fit in with the group. "I like Bonnie, he's quite the party animal. He's also really helpful when it comes to decorating. One time he covered my room with rainbow polka dots, it was so great!" "My word," Rarity suddenly chimed in, "they've been gone for quite a while now. If I'm remembering correctly they had to go back to Canterlot just before Twilight moved to Ponyville." "Wow," Said the farm horse, "time really has gone by. I wonder if they still remember us." Twilight started to snicker slightly. "Oh, you guys. You don't need to pull my hoof, if you don't wanna tell me what they really are then you don't have to." The room suddenly stared at her in confusion. Did she really think they were joking? "I mean, really? Technology like that doesn't even exist in Equestria so how in the world could you-AH!" Twilight became startled as she looked down to see a blue, bipedal, robotic rabbit under the table. The robo-rabbit climbed up and sat in the chair right beside Twilight. His presence making a certain pink party horse put on a smile that could tear faces in half. "Hi everypony! Wow, it's been a while since I've been here." It spoke with an electric voice sounding almost like a colt. "So, what's new?" Pinkie could no longer contain herself. She leaped into the air, a mass amount of confetti appearing around her before she charged at the rabbit. Once she was close enough she wrapped him in a powerful hug. "Bonnie! I've missed you so, so, sooo much. We have so much to talk about!" Bonnie was completely un-phased by the pressure Pinkie's hooves created around his small metallic body. However, he did lift his small arms and hug her back. "Hi Pinkie, you sure have gotten bigger. Have you been trying to out-grow me?" He asked playfully. Twilight could help but stared in complete and utter shock at the sight before her. She thought her friends were just teasing her about this, but they weren't. She didn't understand how something like this could exist though. As she stated, Equestria wasn't very technologically advanced so this would have taken hundreds of geniuses to put together. And somehow, there were supposed to be more!? Mrs. Cake suddenly walked out of the back room with a large, wouldn't you know it, cake resting on her back. It seemed to be slowing her down a bit despite her earth pony strength. Suddenly Bonnie vanished from the six mares and appeared before the shops owner. "Hello, Mrs. Cake!" Mrs. Cake almost jumped as Bonnie entered her vision. At first she didn't recognize him, but his voice as well as his adorable face instantly clicked in her head. "Bonnie!? Is that you?" "It sure is!" He answered in a happy tone. "My, my, that sure does look heavy. Here, let me help you." Before Mrs. Cake could protest Bonnie grabbed the cake from her back and held it high above his head, keeping it still with virtually no effort. "Where would you like me to put it?" Once the shock cleared from seeing Bonnie's incredible strength she straighten her posture and pointed behind him. "The freezer is just over there. If you could set it on the floor for now that would be just fine." "I'll get right on it!" He said as he quickly and efficiently walked into the freezer and set the cake on the ground. He walked out holding himself in his own arms. "Brrr, it's cold in there." His little glass eyes turned back to Mrs. Cake, "Wow, have you gotten prettier?" Mrs. Cake blushed a bit as she turned her head away from Bonnie and waved a hoof at him. "Oh Bonnie, you little charmer you." A red battery symbol started flashing on Bonnie's chest. Instinctively he looked down and tapped it a couple of times with a finger. "Uh oh, I guess I must have been running around more than I expected." He looked to his sides before spotting Twilight who was still sitting at the table trying to comprehend how somepony was able to make something like him. Bonnie made his way over to the table and gave her a light poke, earning her attention rather quickly. "Excuse me Princess, would you mind helping me out?" Twilight shot him a confused look before looking back at her friends. "W-what am I supposed to do?" "They're powered by magic, darling." Rarity quickly explained. "Just let some of your magic flow into him and he'll be charged up in no time. Twilight faced Bonnie, feeling a bit uncomfortable with this thing. She took a breath and decided that there wasn't really any harm in giving him some of her magic. Her horn turned purple as she focused her magic onto the animatronic, his body becoming surrounded in the same bright purple glow. She watched the battery symbol on his chest go from red, to white, to green before a soft beeping went off. She assumed that meant he was fully charged and stopped the flow of magic. The robotic bunny tapped his chest a few time to confirm that he was indeed fully charged before giving Twilight a hug. "Thank you so much princess. Is there anything I can do to repay you?" Before Twilight could say a word, Rainbow Dash jumped in front of her. "Yes, you can tell me where Foxy is. He and I are still at a draw with that sword fighting competition we started a while back." She noticed all of her friends staring at her oddly before explaining herself. "The swords were made of wood." Her friends all seemed to go back to their normal states of mind with that answered. Bonnie rubbed his hand under his chin. "If I remember correctly, he should be somewhere near one of the bridges. He said he was going to go out and plunder the nearest body of water." "Alright! Foxy, prepare yourself for the most ultimate fight of your robo-life!" With that Dash took off, leaving nothing but a rainbow trail in her wake. Bonnie looked towards the door, seeing a large congregation of foals just outside. "Well, if that's all, I'll be on my way." Just before he was about to turn away and leave Twilight raised a hoof. "Bonnie, wait! I have to know something." Bonnie turned his head to face the purple alicorn. "Yes, princess?" "Who built you?" She asked very curiously. "Oh, that's easy. My creators are Trevor and Spring Lock. They came up with us a long time ago. It took a couple of years to get us all up and running properly, but as you can see it all worked out in the end." After his little explanation he continued his journey outside to play with the young ponies. "Aww, they're just as sweet and adorable as they were when ah was a filly." Applejack commented, the whole table shaking their heads and agreeing with her minus a certain purple princess. Pinkie Pie was the first to notice Twilight's mental absence and slid on her back across the table so she would get in her line of sight. "Whatcha thinking about, Twilight?" "I'm just trying to figure out how somepony could have made those things. And you guys just mentioned that they were around when you were fillies. I just don't see how that could be possible now, let alone back then." Twilight rubbed her chin with a hoof. "I just feel like their's something going unspoken about this...and what kind of a name is Trevor?" The mares all exited the bakery; Applejack walking beside Twilight as they made their way outside. "Really Sugarcube, yer just over thinkin it. What's so hard to believe that a couple of stallions came up with an idea to make toys like these for the foals to play with?" "It's not the idea of it that's making me think about it," Twilight began to explain, "but it's how they actually managed to make it into a reality. We should not be capable of making thing like this. I mean, I don't see anything else in this country even remotely as advanced as those." Her attention was caught by a large moving carriage that was unloading a yellow animatronic that seemed to be introducing itself as Chica. However, her attention was more on the stallion unloading it. He had dull brown fur and a silver mane, his cutie mark was a metal spring with a pad lock on it. Spring...Lock...Spring Lock! Twilight shoved Applejack to the side and charged toward the old stallion who didn't seem to notice her until she called out his name and stopped just a few inches from him. "Spring Lock? That's your name right?" The old unicorn eyed her up and down, recognizing her as the newest Princess of Equestria and bowing respectively. "That's me, Princess. Is there something I can do for you?" He asked before rising back to his normal stature. "I simply must know how you were able to make such advanced robotics like this. Technology like this shouldn't be possible in this day and age, so how were you able to make these all those years ago?" She asked, her curiosity forcing her to get to the point rather than drag out into something highly complicated. He was slightly taken back with how she seemed to be rushing her words, but decided that it would be easier to just answer the question. "To be honest Princess, I only assisted in making them." Twilight gave him a crooked expression as he calmly continued his exploitation. "The idea was mine, but the design, as well as the process of putting them together, belonged to my friend." "Trevor?" Twilight asked, remembering Bonnie mentioning his name just a few minutes ago. However, the mentioning of the name seemed to make the stallion become a bit uncomfortable. She could see his eyes watering up, as if he was going to start crying. The stallion swallowed down his emotions and wiped the tears from his eyes. "Yes, that was his name." "Well, Mr. Spring Lock, I would like to speak to him and learn more about how he made these things. Is their a way you could have him come down to Ponyville to meet?" She asked, still more than a bit eager to learn more about the animatronics. The stallion nodded. "I'm sorry Princess, but Trevor has been dead for thirty years now." Twilight gasped, her eyes going wide as she finally realized why the stallion acted the way he did. "Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry. I was just-" He raised a hoof, silencing Twilight. "It's okay, Princess. You didn't know, it's not your fault. I may not know much about how he put them together, but their is a way for you to figure it out yourself, if you can make out the designs." "What do you mean?" He levitated a set of keys out of the carriage, removing one of them from the ring and holding it out to Twilight. "This is a spare key to mine and Trevor's original workshop. He had schematics scattered all about on one of the tables, you may look trough those if you wish. The workshop is in the far end of the castle." Twilight used her magic to grab the key. "Thank you, Mr. Spring Lock. I really appreciate this. Sorry again about the whole...yeah..." "Don't worry about it. It happened decades ago. You have yourself a wonderful day Princess." Spring lock said as he climbed into the back of the carriage and knocked on it. The pegasi in the front started running and shortly after took to the skies, taking the carriage with them. The next day Twilight was on train to Canterlot. She had already written to Celestia about her trip over and informed her that she would be going alone to take a look at an old work room in the back of the castle. It took longer than usual for the Princess to respond to her, but she eventually got confirmation that she was more than welcomed to come and look at the old workshop. The ride was quiet, but with how much Twilight was daydreaming about the things she would find time seemed to zip by and before she knew it the train came to a grinding halt. She wasted no time exiting and making her way to the castle. The guards let her enter and upon entering she was met with Luna who seemed to have been waiting for her. "Good evening Twilight Sparkle." The night princess greeted. "I trust that you trip up was safe." Twilight nodded, "Yes, Princess Luna. Although, I am a bit curious as to why you're standing here alone." "My sister has informed us that she would like to be absent from this little adventure. I know not why, but she seems to have become unsettled since the subject of the work room was brought up." She explained, causing Twilight's curiosity to worsen. "Why? Did something happen in there?" "I am not certain, at the time I was still serving my banishment. However, I have heard rumors of a rather eerie event that might have taken place" Luna explained. "I was instructed on where the location of the room was, if you follow me I can take us to it." The two mares started walking through the castle corridors, Twilight staying behind Luna as they did so. "So what was that story you heard?" Luna continued walking, and kept her eyes forward, "I heard that many years ago when they had first finished making the animatronics that one of them had malfunctioned. Rather than being sweet and playful like the others it went on a rampage and started destroying everything it touched. I also heard it was going to attack Celestia, but that was when a human known as Trevor jumped in front of it, sacrificing his life to save her." "Wait, did you say human?" Twilight asked, her brain settling on that particular detail. "I thought humans were just an old ponystale. Something made up to entertain foals." "I admit, I had my fair share of skepticism, but after consulting with my sister I learned that there was indeed a human. She refused to say anything more than that." "Do you think Celestia and the human were friends?" "One of the rumors I had heard was that they were a bit closer than that." Luna said with a smirk, "Apparently my dear sister and the hairless ape were in a rather sound relationship." Twilight wasn't sure how to feel about this anymore, but she didn't have a chance to comment as she found herself bumping into Luna's backside. After taking a second to recollect herself she looked over to see that Luna ad stopped just inches from an old door. "I believe this is the place." She said, using her magic to pull the door. It didn't budge though. "Strange, it appears to be locked." Twilight scratched her head with a hoof before remembering that Spring Lock had given her a key. She levitated the key out of a saddle bag she had brought and pushed it into the lock. After twisting it several times the sound of numerous locks becoming unhinged echoed on the other side of the door. "That should do it..." She said, feeling nervous for some reason as the door creaked open. The room was almost pitch black, but the two alicorns weren't letting that stop them. Their horns became surrounded in their auras before projecting beams of light that filled the room. "Although I was aware of your desire to venture here, I know nothing beyond that. What is your aim in coming here?" Twilight started to walk around, this time Luna following behind her. "Spring Lock said that I could find the animatronic's schematics in here. I wanted to know how one would be able to make something so advanced in a less than developed time." "I wondered that myself when Celestia first explained these animatronics to me. However, after getting confirmation on the Human I settled for human having a more advanced lifestyle." "But that doesn't explain how he managed to get them to work so efficiently as well as how he managed to gather the right materials. There are just so many unanswered questions that it's making my head spin." Twilight eventually found a small table covered in blueprints, each one labeled with the name of an animatronic. "Jackpot!" The alicorn practically dove onto the table picking them up and putting them into her saddlebag. "Alright, I believe that's all for this little adventure. Are you ready to-" Twilight fell silent as she looked around the room for Luna, eventually spotting her standing in front of a large number of boars nailed to the back wall. She wandered over, standing beside the night princess and looking over the odd addition. "What do you think's behind it?" Luna hummed to herself as her magic started to surround the boards. "I guess we will just has to see for ourselves." One by one nails started to be yanked out of the boards, causing them to come loose and fall to the ground. Once all the boards were gone they found themselves staring at another old door. "Why in Equestria would they seal off this door?" Twilight walked over to the door and pressed her hoof against it. "I guess we'll just have to see for ourselves." She said, once again starting to feel nervous. However, her will to learn over powered her emotions and she gave the door a light push. It swung open almost effortlessly. The two walked into the small room, almost tripping over the assortment of tools and metals littering the floor. The room was old, dirty, and it smelled like death. "Something about this room does not feel right..." Luna commented before her eyes found themselves resting on an old, beat up looking animatronic sitting up against the wall. "Well, that is certainly unsettling." Twilight followed Luna's gaze and yelped at the sight, causing Luna to giggle at her. She rolled her eyes at the night princess, feeling foolish for being spooked so easily. "It's definitely strange." She said, moving closer and poking it a few times. "I wonder why this one is back here. Do you think that the rumors were true and this is the malfunctioned animatronic?" Luna nodded, "I have many doubts. If that story were true than Celestia would have had the animatronic destroyed. Especially if it had hurt somepony so close to her." She watched as Twilight continued to eye it and was starting to wonder the same thing as well. Why would they leave this one in here to rot? "Perhaps there would be a way to activate it? Maybe then we could find the answers as to why they left it here." "I guess we could..." She looked deep into the eyes of the over-sized robotic rabbit, something about them seemed off. As she did this could swear she saw one of them move slightly. Eventually she got impatient and began powering up her horn, letting her magic travel to this animatronic the same way she did with Bonnie. Luna was glancing around at the details that surrounded this room. Besides the tools and hunks of metal there were strange dark stains on the floor. As she continued to eye everything in there she found writing in the same dark substance on the wall above a workbench. After leaning closer to it she read it aloud questioningly. "Springtrap?" "Luna!" Twilight shouted as the animatronic started twitching, its entire body shook before it would convulse aggressively ever other second. Luna ran over and shoved Twilight behind her, preparing herself for anything. She watched at the decayed robot continued to jerk around randomly before finally going completely still. The room was filled with nothing but silence until the animatronics eyes lit up as it powered on. The nicknamed Springtrap animatronic lifted its hands and held them in front of the lights that its eyes were projecting, moving them around and flexing its fingers. It placed its hand to the ground, forcing itself to move and eventually climbing to its feet. Once it was up its eyes scanned the room, stopping on the two alicorns, but only for a short moment. It started walking, stumbling with every step and randomly twitching from time to time. It made it's way over to the work bench with help from the wall his hand had pressed up against and started digging around in it until it found a hack saw. Luna charged her horn, expecting it to make an offensive attack, but instead it mounted the saw onto the wall after wiping the dust from it so it would revert back to its reflective surface. It looked at its face and started to shake as it lifted its hands to its head. It slipped the fingers of its hands into its mouth and started pulling. It was clearly struggling in some manner as it started growling at itself, pulling even harder until the jaws started to separate, beginning to look as if the head were about to snap off. It was too dark for the mares to get a look at what was beneath the mask, but whatever it was it had displeased the animatronic. It let go of its face, allowing it to snap back into its original position before the lights in the eyes turned red and it let out a bestial electronic roar to the heavens loud enough to rival Luna's canterlot voice. After that it started smashing everything around it, the work bench, the cabinets, everything. Luna and Twilight ran out of the room and watched it destroy everything from afar. Once it had finished it exited the room walking toward the princesses, but rather than attacking them as expected it fell to its hands and knees. It let out a series of electronic groans, sounding almost as if it were crying. Twilight, despite being afraid of what this thing could do, took the initiative and approached it. Luna had protested this, obviously, but she was determined to uncover what secrets this thing might hold. She stopped before she would even be within arms reach, she may be curious but she isn't stupid, and took a breath to relax her nerves so she would be able to speak calmly and collectively. If the others could talk, then this one should to, right? "Excuse me, are you okay?" The animatronic's head re-angled itself, allowing it to look right at her. It's eyes shining directly into hers. "Help...me..." //-------------------------------------------------------// Dead Alive //-------------------------------------------------------// Dead Alive Luna ran through the castle corridors, looking like she was on the verge of having a complete meltdown. She didn't know what to do, she couldn't process how to handle this, she had to find her sister. As she ran for what felt like hours she found herself standing behind a large line of ponies. Of course, day court was still in session and the local snobs are likely here complaining about just how hard their everyday lives are; pathetic. It would be hours before Celestia would get a break from these stuck up squares, but this was technically an emergency. Luna took a second to mentally prepare for the scolding she would likely get from her sister and took a breath. "Attention everypony, there is a matter of most urgency in the works. We ask that you please leave the building so that the matter may be addressed. The resident of Canterlot whined and complained about why they had a perfectly good reason to be here, but after falling upon the night princesses stern gaze they cowered and were gone in a matter of seconds, the rest however took their sweet time going out the door. Celestia sat in her throne with a mix of both confusion and frustration glued to her features as Luna approached her. "What is the meaning of this Luna?" She asked with light venom in her words, "You know as well as I that-" She stopped and watched as the last pony left and the door was closed. Her face suddenly dropped to one of relief. "Oh thank goodness, they're all gone." She said, levitating a cold cup of coffee in front of her face and heating it with her magic. Luna smirked at Celestia, "I take it that your afternoon consisted of the usual nonsense?" Celestia nodded and took a sip of her now hot beverage. "Oh no sister, this one was so important that the very fate of Equestria rested in the balance. Golden Ingot was robbed of a single pack of gum which almost resulted in the extraction of every guard on duty." She explained in a sarcastic tone. Luna rolled her eyes, "I swear these ponies wouldn't survive a single day living in a place as simple as Ponyville." Celestia giggled, "Anyway, I know there isn't an actual emergency. If there was you would be in a much more frantic state. So what exactly is this about?" A wave of anxiety started to was over Luna, she wasn't sure how her sister would take this, but she was her last hope in figuring this all out. "Well, it isn't an emergency per se, but it is rather urgent." "What do you mean?" She asked, giving her sister a quizzical look. Luna bit her lower lip as she contemplated a thousand different way to word this, but eventually settled for telling her what she needed to know. "While Twilight and I were rummaging around for the documents she was looking for we cam across a door that had been completely boarded over." Celestia raised a brown at her sister, knowing exactly what door she was talking about. "Go on..." "Well, I opened it and-" She suddenly stopped as Celestia stood up straight and tall, looking ready for a fight, "Let me finish! And, we found something in the back. It was like on of those animatronics, but it was different. We were curious as to why is was back there so we activated it and..." "And?" Celestia pressed, her anger very clearly echoing in her voice, causing her sister to flinch slightly. "Sister...it asked for our help." She said quietly. Celestia's mind was racing with a million thoughts a minute. "What do you mean it asked for our help?" "After we tuned it on it went into a rampage and thrashed the whole room. After that it made a noise like it was crying and it...it said help me." Celestia gave herself some time to process all of the given information, and honestly, she didn't believe a word of it; she didn't want to. "Luna, if this is your idea of a joke I do not find it the littlest bit amusing." "Sister, I assure you that this is no joke. I would find no such enjoyment from humor such as this. You must believe me, I can take you to it." She said, hoping Celestia would trust her enough to let her take her to it. "Twilight is with it right now trying to figure out as much as she can from it." She could see that this topic was making her sister uncomfortable, but it had to be done. She couldn't just hide something like this from Celestia. If the stories were true and this was indeed her lover at one point then surely she would want to know, even if she didn't. Luna walked over to Celestia and put a hoof on her shoulder. "Please sister, follow me." The night princess turned toward the door and started for the room where she had left Twilight with the animatronic. Celestia was hesitant, but she followed, keeping a fair distance between her and her sister. Part of her was hoping that this was some sort of cruel joke while a much smaller portion of her was bouncing with glee at the chance that her human had survived and everything could go back to the way it once was. Upon further examination of the animatronic's body, as well as analyzing of the blueprints used to make an animatronic, Twilight was more than able to conclude that this specific one was in pretty good shape. Aside from the rust, holes, discoloration, and broken ear it was still fully functioning minus the occasion twitches it seemed to be suffering from. This whole thing about there being a living thing within it seemed pretty far-fetched to her, she could see parts that would appear to be some sort of endo-skeleton, and with the amount of damage done there was no way anything in it could have survived, especially if it had been locked in here for thirty years. So she couldn't help but wonder, or at least suspect, if this was just the animatronic's programming rather than this Trevor character that had built the others. She looked over at the one in question who was sitting in a very old chair, using on of his legs to make himself spin in circles. The seat creaked under his shear weight alone, but the spinning made it give of an ear piercing screech that didn't seem to bother it much at all. She approached it and put a hoof against the chair, causing it to stop spinning. It turned back at her and she could swear that it had an annoyed look about it. "I'm sorry, I just wanted to ask you some questions if that would be alright?" It looked down at her, feeling its programming recognize her as royalty. Which must mean that she and the other alicorn are in charge now. That must mean that Celestia was gone now; it's probably for the better, he thought, it would probably be pretty horrible to see him like this. At least then she would have remembered him as he was. He nodded, agreeing to answer her questions. "Thank you." She replied in appreciation, a light smile spread across her face. "First and foremost, my name is Twilight Sparkle. Would you mind telling me your name?" It wondered if using its name would even be worth it at this point. Not like it mattered anyway, but then again it did basically define it as a person when it still was a person. It would probably be best to just find some sort of middle-ground, he figured. So, in his electronic-sounding voice, he replied with, "I was known as Trevor at one point, but now..." He thought back to when he had pried his mask off and saw the horror that lied beneath it, that face wasn't his anymore. That was the face of death and decay. "I guess you can call me Springtrap. That's what they called this thing anyway." It was as good a name as any in his mind at this point. It wasn't like he could just take the suit off, there didn't appear to be a whole lot of him left within it. Some organs here, a few intestines there, the occasional straps of old clothing. She pondered about the name, it sounded familiar. Luna had said it earlier back when they were in the room. More importantly though, this thing just said it was once known as Trevor. A statement like that is usually a sign of some sort of trauma, one in which something feels as though it had become so different that it felt the need to give up its own name in placement for one that seemed more fitting. Then again, the original creator of the animatronics was named Trevor. She would need to investigate this. "Would you mind elaborating?" He didn't really see the harm in telling her, he's never had a reason not to trust Equestrian royalty before. "I was...I guess you could say that I was different to begin with. I mean, I'm different now, but I wasn't as grotesque...I guess? Simply put, I-" "Did you hurt somepony?" She asked, wondering if the rumors were actually true. Wondering if maybe Luna was wrong and this thing had attacked and taken the life of Celestia's human. Thinking back, he remembered getting into the suit, the feeling he got when he first put it on, then the agonizing pain that followed when Spring Lock's spring-locks broke and mutilated him. It was an accident, but for some reason he could feel something inside of him growing, something angry. "No, somepony hurt me..." He said, clenching his fists. Before Twilight could reply with anything, the workshop's door creaked open, causing both of them to turn their attention to the entrance. The first to enter was Luna, who stared at the robot-bunny with curious and somewhat nervous eyes. The next to enter was Celestia. Once Springtrap's glowing eyes found her form he stood up and turned to face her completely. Deep down in the back of his mind was a small voice telling him to turn away and run so she wouldn't have to see him like this, however, it was being drowned out by a much louder voice coming from within his heart. As he stared at her longingly, Celestia's eyes finally met his form. She couldn't help but recoil a bit as she stared at the mangled animatronic suit that had brutally ended the life of her human lover. As the memory of this filled her head she couldn't help the watery look in her eyes. Although the sight of the suit both disturbed and disgusted her, she had to know for sure. The sun princess approached him slowly, taking in every detail of his new twisted body. In the end, she didn't truly care for his looks, it was his personality; his goofy sense of humor as well as the love and affection he showed her. With that in mind, she stopped just inches away from the walking hunk of metal and placed a hoof on his rusted cheek, "Trevor?" She asked with sadness in her voice, "Is that really you?" He reached up and gently placed his cold hand on her hoof, nuzzling it slightly as he embraced her touch. "Tia...It feels like it's been forever. I thought that you were gone..." He figured with the two princesses he had seen that Celestia must have passed on and they had taken her place, but to see her alive and well, and still so beautiful; It warmed his heart. "It's me." He said, his voice being filled with joyful but sorrowful static. Celestia finally let go, letting her tears run down her face before jumping onto the animatronic and forcing him into a loving embrace which he gladly returned. "I thought I had lost you forever too." Luna and Twilight both stared at the two with their mouths agape. As far as they had heard this animatronic was defective and killed her lover, yet here she is calling it by his name. "Sister, would you mind filling us in on just what might be going on here?" Luna asked, thinking it was easier than trying to piece it together themselves. After a few minutes of getting everything cleared up and taken care of, Celestia and Trevor told the story of the day he had died. It went relatively smoothly, but the pain they both felt was clearly showing on them and even though Trevor didn't have a whole lot going for him in the expressions department, you could feel his emotions in the words he spoke. This made it easier to tell if he was becoming upset, but it also made them all a bit uncomfortable when Spring Lock was brought up. They didn't know why, but the air seemed to grow much warmer at the mention of him, so they decided to avoid bringing him up in future conversations. "So let me see if I've got this all right." Twilight began, "You were Celestia's human coltfriend, you were working down here with a friend to build these animatronics, and as a way to say thanks he had a special suit made for you in which you could be like the animatronics you built. However, when you put it on something went wrong and it tore you apart from the inside. Did I miss anything?" Celestia and Trevor nodded, she had basically gotten the whole thing down. "I'm sorry Princess, but I'm finding that a bit hard to believe. I know that a lot of weird stuff has happened around here, but in this case it would mean that Springtrap, Trevor, whatever his name is, is basically a possessed machine." She stated as her scientific mind started to take control of her, but only shortly. "To be honest I don't think there's anything inside of that suit." Twilight lifted a tool up from the ground and compared it to some of the bolts on his face, it was the right tool to remove that part, so she used it. "I bet if I tweak this a bit, we will all see just-" Trevor hadn't stopped her, he was completely unaware that she had any knowledge on how these things work and sat there, confident she wouldn't be able to do anything. That all went down the drain though when his mask snapped open, separating the upper jaw from the lower one and revealing the decaying human head within. Once he felt the mask go up he instinctively reached up and grabbed it, slamming it shut and re-tightening the loosened piece so it would stay in place, but the damage was done. He found himself being stared at from all directions, each face full of nothing but a mixture of disgust and fear. He didn't care what Twilight or Luna felt, but when he saw that same expression on Celestia, it hurt. If his heart were still beating he would swear that it had stopped. He reached out to touch her, but the shock had made it so she didn't notice this action until the last second. Instinctively she jumped back, making the pain within him grow. He should have expected it, just look at him, he was a monster. A walking, talking, piece of scrap metal full of rotting guts and limbs. He was a body in a coffin, just waiting for the worms to strip him away of any flesh he may still bare. His hand lowered and he got up, exiting the room. However, he knew better than to simply wander around through the castle, so instead he went back into the room that he had been sealed in for thirty long years, disappearing into the darkness of the back room. His gaze remained as far from them as possible, the pain he felt was worse than when the spring-locks in the suit snapped. Then it hit him, everything that had happened, what he had become, it all stemmed from one place. No, one pony. If it wasn't for this pony he would have never built the animatronics in the first place, and if he never did that than a certain friend would never have made him a gift that made him this way. "You bastard, this is your fault..." His words echoed through the room with venom strong enough to fuel fire. "You're mine..." The three sat in silence until he had left the room, Twilight feeling absolutely horrible for what she had done. She should have known better than to question her mentor and then to do something like that. "I should go talk to him." She suggested, earning herself an unaproving nod from Luna. "I do not think that would be wise Twilight Sparkle." Luna explained, believing that approaching him when he was upset might not be the best idea. She didn't exactly know him that well, so she would just have to work with what her gut told her. Before Twilight could argue, Celestia raised a hoof to silence her. "Twilight, I will talk to him. He will listen to me." SHe rose up from her seat and made her way to the back room, it was almost to dark to see, but thanks to a little illumination spell, that problem was taken care of quickly. However, when she made it to the back room, she found herself face to face with a room that looked like a tornado had torn through it. The whole place was a mess, but there were two things that seemed to catch her attention rather quickly. One one wall there was a dark liquid that spelled the name Springtrap while on the one across from it was another name, this one carved into the wall. It simply spelled Spring Lock. Author's Note Sorry for the late update guys. I just got moved back into my old place and with all the stuff that goes on around there I might be a bit slower than what you're used to. I'm not saying it'll take me weeks at a time to update, just probably a couple of days //-------------------------------------------------------// The Hunt Begins //-------------------------------------------------------// The Hunt Begins Celestia, Luna, and Twilight all searched the castle to no avail; Trevor had simply vanished and they couldn't find a single trace of him. This went on for hours and even the royal guard was having a hard time spotting him. He couldn't have just simply gotten up and walked out, his appearance would have set the whole town off like an alarm clock sitting next to your ear. Celestia felt awful about the whole thing, she knew it was her reaction that made him feel upset and want to leave, she kept imagining the moment they would find him that she would be apologizing almost every second. She didn't like to make others feel hurt in any way, so the fact that she had done just that made her heart heavy. She couldn't focus too much on that though, right now the most important thing was to locate him and get him back to the castle without him startling the community. If he did only heaven knows how they would react. Trevor knew he had programmed the animatronics to be incredibly fast and that when Spring Lock made the suit he likely went off of the original blueprints, but he had no idea it was anything like this. He could be on one side of the room all the way to the other in the blink of an eye; it had only taken him about a minute to escape from the castle and already be on his way to Spring Lock's house. The speed he could gather was amazing and that was nothing compared to the durability of even the old rusted suit permanently stuck to his corpse. He had lost his footing and taken a bit of a tumble that hardly left a dent in him. The only thing he could imagine that was holding it together so well was the magic used to power it on. There was no other explanation; when it was powered off and sitting in that room for years its colors faded and it was falling apart, but now it felt like he was indestructible. It felt good, scratch that it felt amazing! He swore that if he had the chance he could take on a military tank head-on back in his world. He snapped himself out of his fantasies, right now the biggest thought in his mind was revenge. Spring Lock would pay for what he had done, for killing him. The royal sisters, Twilight included, finally regrouped in the throne room. They had all come up with nothing in their search and the guard's reports were just as displeasing. They had to find him, they just had to. Celestia could feel a strong sense dread building in her chest and that never meant anything good. Something was wrong and something bad was going to happen, she just knew it. Luna shared these feelings, her connection with her sister told her that nothing good would come of these events. Just as the chain reaction in the suit had ended Trevor, the chain reaction in his revival was likely to bring an end to something else. Luna knew that pain was just the beginning, and not too far behind that, vengeance follows. Twilight however just felt worry, she didn't know what was going to happen and that was what scared her the most. She didn't know what she was dealing with so he would be completely unpredictable to her until she started to see a pattern, which wouldn't show up until he started the process of completing whatever task he had in mind. When Trevor made it to the house of his old friend he wasted no time in breaking in. He had gone around the back so that he wouldn't be noticed and managed to slip in through an open window. Surprisingly it was just big enough to fit his large robotic form. He remembered back when he used to come here to hang out with the old stallion. They would sit back with a couple of drinks and look out the window at the passers by. They had a game that they would play where they would come up with background stories for certain ponies which always made them laugh, especially since they would always give them something along the lines of being an old prostitute that married a wealthy stallion; the only reason to him agreeing was do to the fact that she knew what she was doing more often than not. He shook his head, trying to keep his intentions on track, but there was a certain uneasiness in him now. He started to question whether or not it would be worth it, it was an accident after all, wasn't it? His friend didn't mean for it to end this way, but his recklessness and lack of knowledge on how to build something like this was the cause. However, he couldn't shake the anger he felt, he kept thinking about how Celestia had looked at him. It made him feel disgusting, like he was some kind of monster. After searching the house and finding no sign of Spring Lock he came face to face with himself in a mirror. It's no wonder she looked at him the way she did, he was a monster and it was all his fault. That stupid unicorn was playing with things he didn't understand and now Trevor could barely stand to look at himself. He decided it would be best to search the house for something else, something that would tell him where Spring Lock had gone. As luck would have it, he found a schedule book on a counter top. He picked it up and skimmed it. There was a label on today's date that read: Drop off animatronics at Ponyville. Next to this there was a small check-mark that showed that he had already done that. Find a suitable residence to remain until moving on to the next town. There was no mark next to this, likely because he was doing that right now and wasn't planning on coming back for a while. He wondered though, had the animatronics he built continued to function? Were they operating without issues? More importantly, if he found one of them, would they know where Spring Lock is? "Don't worry, my old friend. " He said to himself, "I will find you. That's a promise." He threw the schedule book to the floor and exited out of the window he had come through. He knew where Ponyville was, you could see it clear as day from Canterlot. All that was left was to get there and find either Spring Lock himself or an animatronic that would show him where he was. Mister and misses Cake were working on their newest order, a larger batch of sapphire cupcakes and with the help of Chica they were getting it done rather quickly. Chica removed a batch from the oven. "Mrs. Cake, these ones have come out really well; So shiny and delicious." "Thank you, Chica. Could you place them on the counter with the others and decorate them?" Mrs. Cake asked. "Of course!" She replied, taking the cupcakes over with the rest and putting the frosting on them. Once done she collected them and put them in the back of the freezer. However, the door behind her closed which caused her to turn and face it. She found a strange silhouette standing in front of the now closed door. It looked like Bonnie, but it was taller and a lot more built, it also looked like it was very old and falling apart. "Hello, friend. Can I help you?" "Yes you can." It replied walking over to her. Her programming recognized it's decayed face as Spring Bonnie, however the vocal patterns were very similar to her creator. "Mister Trevor, is that you?" She asked, her programming slightly making her confused. "Yes Chica. I'm inside of the Spring Bonnie suit." He explained, figuring if she knew who he was then she would be more cooperative. "Wow, it's been thirty years since any of us have seen you. How have you been?" She asked her creator, a bit happy that she finally got to see him for the first time in so long. "That's not important, I need to know where Spring Lock is." There was no time for conversation, he just wanted to cut to the chase and get this over with. He needed to find Spring Lock. "Mr. Spring Lock? I know where he is!" She said excitedly. "Tell me where he is!" He demanded, his voice filled with rage. Her programming instantly recognized his tone as being less than friendly. "I'm sorry Mister Trevor, but you seem to be in a very hostile mood. I am not allowed to speak to you in your current state." His anger only grew from this; Letting it get the better of him, he walked over and wrapped his hand around her neck, lifting her into the air and holding her against the wall. "I will ask you one more time; Where is Spring Lock?" His voice had become much deeper and sounded more animatronic than human. "I'm sorry Mister Trevor, but your behavior has become extremely violent. I'm going to have to request help from the authorities." His grip on her tightened, denting the metals in her neck. "Then you've given me no choice. If you don't want to help me then I'll find someone who will. However, I believe you have been functioning long pass your expiration date." Mrs. Cake started to wonder what was taking Chica so long to put their orders in the freezer and figured she may as well go check on her. She trotted to the large metal door and opened it before letting out a very audible shriek. Chunks of yellow metal and wires of all kinds were decorating the room and she found Chica's head being used as a topping piece on one of the cakes within. She stared down the head on the cake as it's eyes flicked before the light in them completely died out, leaving the room to be consumed by the darkness it held. Within minutes the Princesses were present and going over the scene, Twilight using her investigation skills to the best of her abilities to discover whatever she could. Once she had analyzed ever inch of the freezer she walked over to regroup with the royal sisters. Luna was the first to address her on her findings. "Have you found anything, Twilight?" She nodded. "From the looks of it she didn't put up much of a struggle, she must not have had a whole lot of defense programming. I can understand that, seeing how they're all programmed to play with children. However, I can't find anything that would indicate a pony doing this. Not only that, but there are only two creatures here who would know how to pull them apart like this. One of them is an old stallion, he wouldn't even have close to enough strength to do something like this." "He wouldn't have done it regardless." Celestia added, "These animatronics help him to preserve the memory of his fallen friend." "His previously fallen friend." Luna corrected, "I believe it is safe to assume that Trevor is the one behind this." Celestia didn't want to believe it, she refused to believe it. "No! Trevor wouldn't do something like this. He's too kind-hearted to hurt anypony." Twilight put a hoof on Celestia's shoulder to comfort her. "I know you don't want him to be held responsible, but everything points to him. He walked to the back room and carved Spring Lock's name on the wall, nothing living within Canterlot would have been strong enough to do that. Just as nothing in Ponyville would have been strong enough to do this much damage to Chica. They were all built using very strong metals, the only thing that would be able to do something like that in this area would be a Minotaur and they're not exactly hard to miss." "Neither is a six foot rotting animatronic suit with the body of my Trevor locked away inside of it!" Celestia retorted. She knew it was him, but part of her just wanted to believe something/anything else. "Celestia," Twilight started, "I'm sorry, but it was him. I've seen just how fast these things are. They can be from one side of the room to the next in an instant. It's not hard to believe that he managed to evade being seen with that kind of ability." Before Celestia could say anything and old unicorn barged into the bakery. The princesses stared at him as he shoved pass them to the remains of the animatronic once known as Chica. Celestia recognized him instantly, as did Twilight. He fell to his rump, a tear gracing his wrinkled features as he picked up the severed Chica head. Rumor had spread about her destruction rather quickly and he was looking to a bit of investigating himself, despite the grief it caused him to see one of his best friends creations completely dissembled in such a gruesome manner. Luna was about to apprehend him, but was blocked off by Celestia who walked over to his side instead. "Spring Lock, are you okay?" He sniffled slightly. "Yes Princess. I am fine, it's just my heart breaking is all." The Princesses lowered their head, knowing that if this would hurt anypony it would be him. He did help create them after all and the relationship he had with the human who made the animatronics a possibility just made this worse. They had worked so hard to make them and these were all he had left to remember him. However, his sadness was instantly placed with confusion as he started looking around for something. "It's not here. Who in the wide wide world of Equestria would take it?" Twilight, feeling as though she had missed something, especially since she had investigated the scene earlier, decided to question what it was that was missing. "What are you talking about? What's missing?" Spring Lock sifted through the pieces of Chica as he spoke. "There was a device we put inside of them, all of them, something that helped them work. Their battery, the thing that holds all of the magic inside of them and allows them to work. Why would somepony take it?" Twilight's eyes lit up, she had completely forgotten about that. "Of course. Trevor didn't wake up until we powered him on!" She said with a smile, feeling as though some of the pieces to this puzzle were starting to come together. "He had a limit to how long he can be turned on without being charged. He must have taken the battery so he could stay powered on." The two other princesses seemed a bit excited at this new information as well, until the voice of Spring Lock intervened. "I beg your pardon?" They all twitched slightly, remembering the old stallion. "What do you mean by that?" He asked with venom in his voice. Trevor watched the bakery scene unfold from hid hiding place, holding Chica's battery in his hand and stuffing it inside of his suit. He would need it if he started to run low on power. He saw Spring Lock burst out of the bakery with tears in his eyes. He was hurt that the animatronic was destroyed and seeing him in pain was quite satisfying. Trevor figured that before he went after Spring Lock, he would first destroy his life's work. He would get to watch his old friend suffer as well as collect these batteries to allow him to function longer, so it was a win win. He would wait until his friend had nothing left to live for and then he would finish what he started. Strangely the princesses followed him out of the bakery and into a motel on the outskirts of Ponyville. Trevor quickly scanned the building with his eyes and memorized the room number. Spring Lock kicked his door open and entered his temporary home, the princesses following close behind. "That's a load of crap! There's no way Trevor could be back! He died in that room, in that suit, he can't just come back!" He yelled angrily at them. "You have to believe us, it's urgent!" Twilight pleaded. "Yes," Luna followed up, "We fear he may be after you." "Enough!" Spring Lock shouted, "I refuse to believe any of this. My best friend is dead and that's that!" They all fell silent as a swarm of scream was heard coming from outside, before they could run out though the severed head of Foxy fell from the roof and in front of their door. It was beaten in the same manner Chica had been, but it had a thin black piece of plastic clenched in its teeth. They looked up at a group of ponies who were still looking up towards the roof, trying to find what ever it was they saw. "What is it?" Celestia called out to the ponies, "What happened?" One of them pointed up at the top of the structure. "Something was up there!" She shouted, "Holding Foxy's head!" They looked back down at the Foxy head, "What's in his mouth?" Twilight asked. "It's Trevor's phone." Celestia replied. Before she could ask about it Spring Lock started to explain, letting the memories of it flow back into his mind after forgetting about it for so many years. "It was a device from his world. He said it was useless here, for the most part, but he could play music from it. We would listen to it for hours while we worked." Spring Lock reaching down to pick it up. Before he could touch it Foxy's mouth opened and let out a familiar 'ARRG". The lights in it's eyes suddenly dies and the mouth slammed shut on the hunk of plastic, causing it to play a distorted song. Burning the ground I break from the crowd I'm on the hunt I'm after you Scent and a sound I'm lost and I'm found And I'm hungry like the wolf! Strut on a line It's discord and rhyme I howl and I whine "I'm after you" Mouth is alive All running inside And I'm hungry like the wolf! //-------------------------------------------------------// Unleash The Beast //-------------------------------------------------------// Unleash The Beast This wasn't going to stop and Spring Lock knew it, as did the princesses, he had to defend himself. After the incident in Ponyville they came to the conclusion that Trevor was more than capable of attacking Spring Lock whenever he wanted now, he was toying with them and they knew it. But why; to instill fear? To make him feel worse about what happened so many years back? It was an accident yet, here he was, trying to get to Spring Lock and do something that even Celestia couldn't imagine. As Spring Lock marched to his old workshop the princesses followed close behind him, constantly asking him what he was going to do. He ignored then and continued to move with a determined look on his face. He may be old, but he wasn't going to to just let himself die. He kicked open the door to the workshop and marched to the far back of the shop, using his horn to light the way. He eventually stopped in front of a large black tarp that practically blended in with the darkness around them. The princesses almost didn't notice it, it wasn't until they followed his stern gaze to the large plastic blanket that they actually managed to see it. Twilight, being the most curious of the group walked closer to it and reach out to touch the tarp, only for her hoof to be smacked away by Spring Lock. "Don't touch it!" Twilight grabbed her hoof and rubbed it before taking a step back. For an old stallion he could hit pretty hard. "What is it?" Spring Lock sighed. "Celestia," The sun princesses eyes suddenly focused on the old stallion's form. "remember how I told you that I was working on my own private project before Trevor died? How I said I was working on something to thank him?" Celestia nodded, remembering that horrible day in full detail. She used to have nightmares about it, so nothing about it ever escaped her. "Of course I do." Spring Lock turned to face the three princesses who stared at him slightly out of curiosity. "Trevor had his own projects as well. I was the one who wanted to give foals a friend to play with, something that would make them laugh and smile. I was very lonely as a colt, I didn't have any friends, so I wanted to make sure nopony would ever have to be as lonely as I once was." "Pardon my interruption, but where exactly are you going with this?" Luna asked, wishing he would just get to the point. Spring Lock growled slightly at her, "Trevor was more than happy to help, but unlike me he despised children. He had more fun scaring them with his appearance than trying to be friends with them. It was very rare for him to show any sympathy toward them. I always knew he had a darker side to him, but I never thought he would be capable of becoming a monster...I digress though. Remember how everypony always wanted Trevor over for their Nightmare Night parties, Celestia?" "I remember," She replied, "but I don't quite follow where you are going with this." "I'm just trying to make you all understand." He explained, "They wanted him over because he could scare full grown stallions until they wet themselves, he was the very definition of fear on that holiday. He loved fear, not feeling it, but to instill it in others. He started working on his own project just as I did, only his was much more macabre. He wanted to create an animatronic that would show his love for Nightmare Night, that would show his love for horror." The tarp suddenly became engulfed in Spring Lock's magical aura. "Princess, I give you," The tarp was suddenly pulled away, "Nightmare Fredbear." The princesses all jumped at the sight of it. It resembled Freddy, but barley, its body was larger and more round, but also twisted and evil looking. Its mouth had rows upon rows of sharp teeth and so did its midsection, it had long metal claws at the end of its hands, and it wore a bright purple hat and bow-tie. "By the sun above, how could someone come up with something so horrible?" Celestia asked, having no idea what kind of pony it would take to create this for fun. Luna leaned closer to the animatronic, "I do not understand why you're showing us this. What is its relevance?" "It wasn't just made for scaring ponies," Spring Lock explained, "he wanted it to be more than just a toy for Nightmare Night. He programmed it differently from the others and gave this one defensive capabilities. He was going to use it as his own personal body guard. I can only hope that it wasn't meant to protect just him." Twilight tilted her head in confusion, "Why would he do that? There are guards all around the castle. Why wouldn't he feel safe with them?" "Despite what you might think, Trevor was relatively paranoid by all of the dangerous creatures here. He thought the guards here were too soft and could handle a truly dangerous situation. Honestly, with all that's happened here since he died, I can't say I blame him. He also had a number of trust issues, especially with the guard. They used to give him dirty looks all the time, even more so when he was around Celestia. He thought they were plotting against him and he knew he would be easily overpowered if they tried something against him." Hearing these about Trevor slightly disturbed and worried Celestia. Had he really not felt safe in Equestria, even around her? "I had no idea he felt this way. If only he had just told me." "He didn't want you to know. He figured that you had enough problems what with managing this, and I quote, Chaotic place and the magical city full of snobby douche-bags." The old stallion began charging his magic, hopefully he would have what it took to charge this beast of a machine. "This can go one of two ways. Either the animatronic will protect us or it will attack and set out to find Trevor, making our current predicament much more dangerous. You may want to take a step back. It if chooses the later then I would like it if none of you are harmed." The princesses all looked at each other before stepping forward and putting a hoof in front of Spring Lock. "Please, allow us." Luna said, causing Spring Lock to lower his charge and let the royal family do their work. They all turned their gaze over to the giant metal monster laying before them. After a confirming nod between them they started to charge the animatronic, letting a mix of golden, blue, and lavender colored magic seep from their horns and flow into it until a small charging symbol appeared on its chest showed that it was powering on. Once it was fully charged they cut off their magic and waited. Its eyes started to glow bright red as it hummed to life, looking up at them before getting up onto its feet; standing taller than Celestia, even having height over that of her long horn. It scanned the area, recognizing the royalty that stood in front of it, however its gaze rested on Celestia. "Greetings Princess," It spoke in a disturbingly deep robotic voice, "It is a pleasure to finally meet you." It walked toward Celestia and lowered itself onto one knee, bowing to her. Its actions surprised the princesses, it seemed to show much more respect than the others, but they were meant for foals, their primary function was to be playful little critters. They had no idea what one that was meant to scare and protect would behave like. It rose back to its original standing position, "How may I assist you?" Spring Lock pushed pass the princesses so he would be standing right in the animatronics line of sight. Its facial scanners instantly recognized the wrinkled unicorn. "Fredbear, what are your primary objectives?" It's head looked straight forward as it started to reply with its initial programming. "Protect Trevor, protect Spring Lock, protect Celestia, scare any and all living things on Nightmare Night to the best of my abilities." Once it was done reading off its list of duties it turned its head back down to the ponies. "Where is master Trevor?" Celestia and Spring Lock were the only ones who knew the full story of what had happened and explained to Fredbear in great detail what had happened. Luna and Twilight listened intently as well, however, the princess of friendship was beginning to find it difficult to hold her lunch and had a number of close calls as the story went on. Spring Lock was forced to finish the story as Celestia found herself being almost impossible to understand through her sobs. Trevor's death still haunted her and a part of her still wanted to refuse that he was the reason for any of this, that he actually wanted to cause harm to Spring Lock. "So that's the situation. I feel that Trevor is seeking vengeance upon me for the horrible accident and I need your help. You are my last hope Fredbear; I think he's going to kill me." "I find your story illogical in a number of ways. One does not simply come back from the dead Spring Lock, perhaps you are growing delusional in your old age. Even so, I will protect you and the princesses from any oncoming threat." The group let out a relived sigh as the animatronic agreed to guard them. "However, if your story is true and it is master Trevor, then I will not destroy him. My mission is to protect you all, Trevor included. I can apprehend and subdue him, but I am not capable of ending his life." "I would expect nothing more. Perhaps if he is contained we may be able to-" Spring Lock was suddenly cut off as a loud bang echoed behind them. They all turned to face the source and watched as the head of Bonnie, beaten and mutilated, skid across the floor to their hooves. Behind the sound of metal being dragged across concrete they could hear the sound of steel footsteps coming their way. Before long Trevor emerged from the darkness, dragging the body of an eviscerated Freddy behind him. He tossed the barely functioning animatronic toward them. Spring Lock ran over to Freddy and looked him over, just like Chica, his battery had been torn out of his chest, Somehow, it was still clinging to life as it looked up at him. "Oh Freddy..." He muttered with a single tear running down his cheek as he watched the light in its eyes slowly die out. His horn lit up and a small teddy bear appeared in front of him. It wore a tiny black hat and bow-tie and had the name 'Freddy' stitched onto it chest. He gazed at the stuffed animal with a look of nostalgia and lowered it onto the lifeless animatronic. "You were always my favorite." He finished, looking up at the hunk of rusted metal standing before them. "It's been a while, old friend. I'm honestly a bit surprised you managed to live this long. I knew better though, you weren't going to let something as simple as age take you. Well, now you won't have to." Trevor began to make his way over to the group. Fredbear's facial scanners couldn't make heads or tails out of this things appearance, but despite the robotic distortion he recognized the voice as Trevor's. "So the stories were true." It said, walking in front of the group, causing Trevor to stop in his tracks. He didn't even notice Fredbear, until now that is. "I thought for sure the ponies here were becoming delirious, speaking about your death and resurrection." Trevor chuckled slightly, "Of course, the only logical one of the group. It's a bit sad that I never got to activate you before all of this." As much as he would love to speak to his most favorite of the animatronics, he had a mission and he wasn't planning on stalling it any longer. "Step aside Fredbear, Spring Lock and I have some personal matters to discuss." "You forget, Trevor, I can detect the hostility in your voice no matter how much you try to hide it." Fredbear explained, "I cannot allow you to harm Spring Lock." Trevor didn't bother hiding it anymore, he knew better; He did make this animatronic after all. "Fredbear...you are my creation, you do as I say and get out of my way!" He demanded, his voice becoming deeper and much more robotic. Fredbear's defense programming kicked in as he watched Trevor raise his fist and swing at it. It reached out and grabbed his wrist, stopping his attempt to assault it dead in its tracks. Trevor may not be able to feel due to his robotic body, but he could detect the damage being inflicted on his arm just by the sheer grip of the animatronic standing in his way. He had forgotten just how strong he had made Fredbear, but that wasn't going to stop him. He pulled down with all his might on his captured arm, causing Fredbear to stumble. Taking this opportunity he drove his knee into the animatronic's chest, putting a dent in it right on top of its battery. Fredbear's warning signs went off in its head as its battery cracked from the immense force. It could feel itself slowly beginning to lose power. Before it could react it was shoved to the ground and the next thing it knew, Trevor was on top of it, punching its chest over and over again. It wasn't too hard to bring down the over sized robotic bear from hell if you knew how he worked. Being his creator, Trevor knew that Fredbear only had one weakness. In order to destroy him you had to attack him at his power source. It was a good thing he didn't have time to layer the metals like he originally wanted to, otherwise he would have been a goner. While lost in though he found himself being struck in the side of the head by one of Freadbear's large claws, causing him to be knocked several feet away from it. Fredbear pulled himself back onto his feet, as did Trevor who was twitching wildly. That hit must have done some serious damage if this was how his body was reacting. However, it took its fair share of blows from him. Its battery was almost completely depleted from the massive amount of brute force that had been forced upon it. It tried move closer to Trevor but found that its legs had shut down, it didn't have enough power to walk and soon enough not even to stand. Fredbear gave Trevor one last death glare before its body shut down and it collapsed to the floor. Trevor laughed as he turned to face the group of ponies who watched in horror as Fredbear was defeated. "You-you-you-you-you see?" He said, his voice becoming as glitched as his movements as he walked closer to them. "You can't beat-beat-beat-beat me! Did you really th-th-think that he could save you? I cr-cr-cr-creat-t-ted Fre-Fredbeard! I know how he wor-wor-wor-wor-works! My head may be a r-r-r-rotten sack of flesh, but I am not an idiot!" Luna quickly charged her horn and fired a magical beam at Trevor. He stumbled a bit, but held himself together. Suddenly five separate battery lights appeared on his chest, each one showing that it was almost fully charged. "Go ahead pr-pr-princess! You're only making this w-w-w-worse for you-yourself!" The princesses back away, they wouldn't be able to stop him by force. They were not physically strong enough to take him down and their magic only fueled him. Twilight tried to teleport them all away but the stress of the situation was making it nearly impossible to focus. Spring Lock bowed his head and sighed before walking over to meet the spasming animatronic hybrid half way. "Okay Trevor, you win. I'm all yours. Please just leave them alone, just take me." "Spring Lock, no! You can't-" Twilight attempted to shout, but was cut off by Spring Lock's raised hoof. Spring Lock lowered his hoof and looked up into the bright red eyes of the one he used to call his friend. "Just take me." "Gladly." Trevor replied, grabbing Spring Lock by his neck and lifting him into the air. The princesses began to stare intently and gasped in shock. Spring Lock stared into Trevor's evil eyes. "Goodbye, Trevor." His robotic face took on an angered expression as he spoke. "I am not Tr-Tr-Tr-Trevor. My n-n-name is Springtrap!" Before he could deliver the final blow he saw that Spring Lock's eyes had become very wide, but not at him. His head shot in the direction of the princesses who were sharing the same look, but for some reason they were all staring pass him. As if there was something...behind him. He turned around to find out what it was they were all so fixated on and immediately regretted every decision he had ever made. The shock that went through his mind was enough to make him drop Spring Lock to the ground. How could he have forgotten this? How could he let his blind rage make him completely miss a detail as important as this!? Fredbear, now standing straight an tall, powered back on. It's red eyes shining bright and locking on to its target. "Primary power source damaged. Switching to back-up battery," It stated aloud. Trevor looked up at the massive beast. "Fu-fu-fuck..." Was all he managed to say as Fredbear raised one of his large claws and slammed it into him with enough force to send him across the room and into a wall. The impact cracked the concrete structure and Trevor's robotic body fell into a sitting position, his head hanging down as if he were asleep. Spring Lock slowly recovered on the ground, gasping for air. The princesses ran over to assist him. He assured them he was alright before looking up at Fredbear. "Thank you, friend." He simply said. "Thank you." Fredbear didn't reply, it just stared down at the ponies and scanned them to make sure there was no permanent damage to any of them. "Scan complete, your vitals are returning to normal. However, I believe some rest would do you good." Spring Lock chuckled at Fredbears comment, but there was some tension in the air. Celestia, after hearing that Spring Lock was okay, walked over to Fredbear and shot him a stern look. "I though you said you wouldn't kill him...You said you were not able to kill him because he was your creator!" All eyes were now on Celestia and Fredbear. "I did not kill him." He replied, making Celestia's eyes grow wide with hope. "I incapacitated him. His batteries are unharmed, however he will face further glitches until his brain can recover from the trauma." Twilight tilted her head at this. "Wait, what do you mean his brain?" "Trevor's body is dead, but my readings show that his brain is still active." He replied. They all looked over at Trevor's robotic form. He looked dead, but it was confirmed that he wasn't by the violent twitches he had every few seconds. The all ran over to his side, Spring Lock being picked up and carried by Fredbear so he would have to 'Stress himself further'. Once they got over Twilight cautiously reached out, but stopped just before touching him and look up at Fredbear. "Is it safe?" FredBear nodded, "His reading show that he is unconscious." Twilight gulped slightly before continuing, placing a hoof on his mask and lifting it. She gagged from the sight of his rotten flesh decorating a heavily damaged skull, but pressed on and continued to lift the mask until his entire head was exposed. She held her breath as she leaned over his body. What she saw defied all scientific possibilities. There it was, a perfectly normal, living, working brain with wires jammed deep into it. "I can't believe it..." Everypony now became focused on Twilight, they could practically see the gears in her head turning as her scientific mind started to work at a level that would frighten most geniuses. She turned back to the group and took a few steps away from Trevor's body. "Spring Lock, how have the animatronic that you've made manage to last so long?" Spring Lock was a bit taken back by her sudden change and her questioning, but he figured it would be easier to just answer her than to start questioning everything himself. She was starting to look a bit frightening. "Well, I cast preservation spells on the exterior. It doesn't really affect the outside metals since they're constantly exposed to both air and weather, but I use it primarily to make sure the wiring, battery, and endo-skeletons won't fall apart due to age." At that moment, it was like the spring lock's in his head suddenly snapped together. "Wait, you don't think-" "I do, in fact, I think a lot." She said before he could even finish his sentence."I think that your preservation spells completely preserved his brain." She said proudly. "If that were true," Luna began, "then how come the rest of his body has decomposed?" "Very good question, Luna. He said the preservation spell doesn't work outside the suit because it's constantly exposed to the elements. Therefore, when the suit started to rust and fall apart everything on the inside began to follow suit; no pun intended. However, the only part of the suit that has the littlest amount of damage is the head. With the jaw structure being the way it is it would allow air into the mask which made his face decompose with the rest of his body, but the top of it doesn't seem to have a whole lot of damage which would allow it to continue preserving the top portion of his head. So for the passed thirty years his brain has been in the same state since it died, making it continue to be fresh and able to be brought back with little to no repercussions." She explained, practically making the other ponies' heads spin. "See how these wires ended up digging into his frontal lobe? When we powered the suit it fed the power from the battery all the way into his brain." "Allowing him to come back to life..." Celestia finished. "Exactly!" Twilight put a hoof to her chin as her mind continued to come up with different theories and ideas. "Celestia, you were probably the closest to him other than Spring Lock, but then again Spring Lock knew him on a different level...Anyway, did either of you know him as being a very aggressive individual. The two looked to each other and nodded. "Not at all. He was definitely strange and would act up sometimes, but he never let his anger get the better of him." Spring Lock commented. "Mhm." Twilight hummed, turning her attention to Fredbear. "Fredbear, I want you to run another scan on Trevor, I would like to know what condition his nerves ending are in." "Yes princess." It ran a quick but thorough scan on Trevor's body, finding little to no other living organisms within it other than the brain. "He appears to have none. They were likely damaged at some point, as of now they are complete decomposed." "Perfect, everything is falling into place." Twilight muttered to herself. Luna gave Twilight a concerned look. "Twilight, where are you going with this?" She smiled at them, "Allow me to explain." The group let out a collective sigh to which she merely huffed at. "Anyway! When a perfectly healthy brain, much like the one currently in that suit, is subjected to something like this it can act up. When you take away one of it's senses it enhances all of your others. However, all of his senses were stripped away the second he died, not only that, but his body became almost completely decomposed, so he either way he lost everything. Sight, smell, touch, it's all gone. That suit is the only reason his brain can recognize anything, all of his sense are coming from that suit. That being said, the brain no longer has those senses. When you take away a sense the brain becomes hungry for information and enhances everything else. All of his physical senses were stripped away from him, leaving it to enhance the only thing he had left, his emotions." She waited a bit to let the information sink in. "Celestia, when he reached out to touch you that day and you withdrew, it hurt him a lot more than anything else ever could. Then when he walked away his mind pointed to the only one it could blame other than himself, that being the one who made the suit." Spring Lock's features sank, but Twilight continued. "When he had someone to blame his mind began to feed him intense amounts of anger. And think about this for a second; whenever he destroyed an animatronic he took their battery and put them in himself to give him more power. That power wouldn't just feed into the suit, it fed into his brain, making it more active and making it enhance those feelings." She paused for a moment to look back at the poor soul laying unconscious behind her. "He's not evil and he's not a monster, he's a slave to whatever emotion his mind gives him." They all wore a melancholy look as the realization dawned on them. This whole time they thought he was lashing out because his death had changed him when really he had actually been fighting himself and suffering from something he could not control. "There is a bright side to this story though." Twilight began, earning their attention once more. "All of this is happening because his emotions have been enhanced. Things like this happens to ponies in the medical field more often then you'd think." Celestia's eyes suddenly got brighter. "Which would mean-" "Yes, princess." Twilight replied, not even needing to hear the rest of her question, "We can help him. We just need to be there for him when he needs us and we need to be patient." Trevor's mask suddenly slammed shut with a loud metallic smack and the lights in his eyes rebooted, tearing two large holes in the surrounding darkness. Author's Note Holy hell, this was longer than I expected. Please let me know if something seems wrong with the conversations or if there are any grammar problems. I don't have an editor so I'm just working with myself over here. Thanks guys //-------------------------------------------------------// Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust //-------------------------------------------------------// Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust Springtrap hung almost lifelessly over Fredbear's shoulder as they walked through the castle; He would struggle from time to time, but not enough to break free from the animatronic's intense grip. Given his special circumstance the Princess ordered special psychologists to the castle and established a private room where they could recondition and hopefully recover the mind of the mutilated man within the suit. With luck, maybe he would go back to the way he was. The sun princess led the giant demonic-looking bear to the room where he would drop Springtrap's body. "You can set him down in here, Fredbear. Thank you." The animatronic nodded and entered the room, tossing Springtrap to the ground. Once on the ground he tried to get back up, only to be met with a large metal bear claw to the side of his head. He fell back to the ground and stayed still as his brain tried to recuperate from the impact. Fredbear turned to leave the room, but before it could get to the door its sensors picked up on physical contact being made on its leg. It looked down to see Springtrap grabbing onto it, but barely. "F-f-fr-f-Fredb-b-bear..." "Yes, Trevor?" It responded, it's programming keeping it from ignoring it's creator. "C-c-c-co-c-code...blue..." He simply said, sounding almost as if he were chuckling. Celestia stared at him, both with worry and confusion. While her heart was yearning for him to be well and get better, her mind was wondering what 'Code Blue' meant. And, much to her surprise, Springtrap released Fredbear from his grip and allowed himself to shut down on the floor. Fredbear exited the room just before Celestia could seal it. She looked up at the animatronic with a questioning gaze before deciding to ask what all of that was. "Fredbear, what's code blue?" Fredbear didn't reply, just turned and walked away. Celestia followed it to see where it was going, but eventually found herself standing outside of the old workshop Trevor and Spring Lock worked in. She stopped as Fredbear entered; she didn't want to go back in there. Part of her felt like something was off, but she ignored the feeling of dread filling her and walked away. Luna retrieved the requested medical staff and led them to area of which they were assigned; more specifically, to Springtrap. Once they were all in their places they started working out plans on how to approach the creature while Luna set off to find her sister. She eventually found Celestia in the throne room. She appeared to be deep in thought, so much so that she was completely oblivious to the mountain of paperwork in front of her. The night princess approached her older sister slowly, as to not startle her. "Sister, are you fairing well?" Celestia snapped out of her thoughts and blinked a few times before looking up at Luna and giving her a gentle smile. "I'm fine, sister. But, thank you for your concern." Luna lifted a hoof and placed it on her sister's shoulder. "I understand that all of this is taking its toll on you. Perhaps you should step down for a while and get some rest. I can take care of things around here." Celestia nodded disapprovingly, "No Luna, I couldn't ask such a thing from you." "You don't have to." She replied, letting Celestia know that she wasn't giving her a choice. The two smiled at each other before Celestia rose from her throne and made her way to her room, stopping as she made it to the throne room doors to look back at her little sister. "Thank you, Luna." Twilight hummed to herself as Spring Lock explained some of the blueprints to the animatronics to her. As he spoke Twilight rapidly took notes, making sure not to miss even a single detail. They had remained in the workshop while the others took care of Springtrap so Twilight could talk to Spring Lock about the animatronics. "I see, and how do these work?" She asked, pointing to an enlarged image of a battery, the same kind that was used to power the animatronics. "Well princess," Spring Lock began, "you know as well as any other pony that everything in this world contains magic, right?" "Of course, it's practically how everything here survives." "Well, many years ago Trevor and I found these stones, each one containing almost no magic at all. After a few studies we discovered two very important thing; The first being that they were extremely fragile, they had to be handled with extreme care. The second was that they could absorb magic, making in nearly impossible to lift them via levitation." "That's so fascinating!" Twilight exclaimed. She had never heard of a stone that could absorb magic. "Indeed it is! Eventually, Trevor came up with an idea on how to move the stones without them breaking while hopefully retaining their strange effects." Spring Lock levitated a cup and a small rubber ball of to him, demonstrating what they did as he spoke. "He suggested that we take the stones and submerge them in liquid metal." As he said this he levitated the small ball into the cup. "I thought that the stones would have been destroyed by the heat, but they didn't. Instead when we pulled them out they were perfectly fine, in fact, they were better than ever. Unicorns still couldn't lift them with their magic, but transporting them became so much easier." Twilight reached over and grabbed one of the batteries they had removed from Springtrap with a hoof to her to observe it. "So beneath all this metal and wires is a stone that can drain magic?" Spring Lock nodded, "Yes, princess. And, if manipulated properly, it can give magic rather than just drain it, but not without having some previously stored within it." Twilight was about to ask another wave of questions until one particular set of blueprints caught her eye. She set the battery down and levitated over a large diagram of Fredbear. After eyeing the design itself she flipped it over to see a very extensive list on the back. "Spring Lock, what are these for?" The old unicorn leaned over to examine the paper. "Ah, that's a list of special commands. That way if their was something Trevor wanted done, but wanted to be discreet about, he could just say on of these. Each on has a different meaning, but to my knowledge most are for its defensive programming." Twilight continued to read down the almost never-ending list of commands. "Do you know what any of these mean?" "Well, he did tell me a few. Operation Ghost: That was one so that if he needed to hide, or if he were being attacked, Fredbear would stuff him into his large stomach to keep him safe." "So is that why he was designed to be so much more...round?" She asked. "I assume so." He replied, "One other one I know for sure is Code Yellow; which would cause Fredbear to attack any living thing on sight, minus the ones he was programmed to protect." Twilight was slightly disturbed by this. Who would want something like that? "Why would he make something that would attack any living creature? I don't see any reason to make something-" "Pardon my interruption, princess, but I've already explained this to you. Trevor was extremely paranoid, he would imagine a thousand different ways that something could go wrong just going out to get breakfast." Twilight's ears dropped, part of her felt so bad for him. She couldn't imagine what it must be like to end up in a world you don't understand, to be in constant fear that something was going to happen, or that something was out to get you. "Princess, would you mind doing me a favor and not reading any of those out to Fredbear." Spring Lock said, making Twilight's head turn to face the wrinkled stallion. "After he had finished putting all of those together he said that he had installed a self-destruct command. I'm sure he was just joking, but I've been wrong about him before." He finished, levitating a sheet of paper and a quill in front of him and scribbling something down. "And would you mind delivering this to Trevor for me?" Twilight was slightly in shock from hearing of the possibility of such a destructive command being in Fredbear's programming. She would have to go through his files and delete everything in there, start from scratch. She shook it off for the time being, she was going to do a complete sweep on Frebears' programming regardless of what Spring Lock would have to say. It was simply too dangerous. Once her thoughts were cleared she agreed to deliver the paper to Trevor's room and grabbed it with her magic before marching out of the workshop. Spring Lock took a breath and opened up a cabinet on the desk they were sitting at, pulling out a small flask and taking a quick but satisfying drink; Only to nearly choke on the liquid as he became startled by Fredbear's unexpected entrance. Twilight made her way through the castle until she finally managed to make it to the room where they were holding Springtrap. The doctors were going over notes of what they could figure out from talking with him and coming up with several different theories and tests they could do to help him. She smiled at this, although it wasn't going to be all that pleasant, she knew that Trevor was going to get the help he needed. However, her thoughts became silenced as she opened the door to see Trevor sitting in a metal chair that had been recently bolted to the ground with chains holding him in place. The princess of friendship turned to face the doctors, glaring at them with such intensity that they could practically feel her looking at them. They immediately turned bowed to her as she made her way over to them. "Would one of you mind explaining to me why our friend here is currently wrapped up like some kind of wild animal?" "We're sorry, princess." One of them began, "We had to do it. When we went in there he attacked us on sight. Doctor Septum had to be taken to the hospital." Twilight let out an annoyed sight and walked away from the group, entering the now prison-like room. She couldn't help but shudder as Springtrap's eyes locked onto her, becoming more and more focused the closer she got. She forced a smile and took a seat a few feet from him. "Hello, Trevor. How are you holding up?" He glared at her, his eyes flickering back and forth from white to red. "I told you, my name is Springtrap you stupid horse." He growled, his eyes eventually resting one their normal white color, "And as you can see, I'm just peachy." Twilight's features dropped, "We're going to help you, Trevor. You're not you right now, you're mind is all over the place and your emotions are completely unstable. We want to help you; we WILL help you, I promise." She levitated the paper Spring Lock had given to her and placed it face-up in his lap. Springtrap looked down at the paper; it was a letter. He didn't bother reading it. Instead he looked up at the clock and started to laugh. At first it was soft, but then it became something loud and mildly disturbing. "You...you have no idea how badly you've fucked up." He said, still chuckling slightly. "You can't help me, you couldn't even help Spring Lock." She tilted her head slightly. "What are you-" Her body suddenly became very tense as what sounded like a massive explosion went off, shaking the whole castle and making it go dark. Springtrap's eyes quickly flashed red as he started struggling against the chains, eventually applying enough pressure to make them snap and fall apart. With his new-found freedom he stood up straight and tall and reached down to grab Twilight who yelped and charged her horn before quickly teleporting away. He looked about the room, his sensors telling him that the floor beneath him was becoming weaker with every passing second. He would need to escape and soon, but not before he made completely sure that he had finished what he started. Twilight appeared in the throne room to find the royal sisters sending out guards help anypony in need as well as figure out what had happened. She ran over to the two, "Princess Celestia! Princess Luna! What happened?" Before either of them could answer a small group of guards flew in and stopped before the princesses. "Your highness, there appears to have been a massive explosion in the abandoned workshop. Everypony is being evacuated, we need to get you out of here now!" They were about to leave until Twilight pointed out something that made their hearts sink. "Wait, Spring Lock was in there! We need to see if he's okay!" The royal sisters looked to each other and nodded with stern expressions on their faces. "Let us go find him then." Luna stated as Celestia waved off the guards. The three then charged for the workshop, upon arriving they discovered that the explosion had hardly touched the rest of the castle, but it started a raging fire that threatened to consume the entire north wing. They moved faster, being careful to avoid any and all debris as well as the fire that was quickly spreading. They searched the room from top to bottom, finding pieces of Fredbear surrounding a crater in the cement floor. After about a minute of searching Celestia eventually heard the sound of groaning coming from one of the corners of the room. She ran over to find Spring Lock, bloody and bruised with severe burns covering half of his body, buried under a collection of broken animatronic pieces. "He's here!" She announced to the others, who quickly made their way over. The two looked at him with wide eyes, wondering how he was still alive. "Spring Lock," Luna began, "what happened? You must tell us!" Spring Lock let out a few light coughs, "Fredbear, it just...It just blew up...It...Code blue...it kept saying code blue..." Spring Lock suddenly became unconscious. He had gone through a lot and the fact that he hadn't been at least knocked out earlier was a miracle. Twilight put a hoof to her mouth, "Is he okay?" She asked, hoping, praying that there was a chance for him to survive. Celestia nodded, "I'm sorry, but I don't know if he's going to make it." A large chunk of the ceiling collapsed, landing less than a foot away from them. Celestia quickly levitated the old stallion onto her back. "Come on, we need to get out of here before the whole castle falls down on top of us." They gathered into the corner and started charging their magic, getting ready to teleport themselves a safe distance from the burning structure. A metal arm suddenly tore through the concrete wall behind them, both disrupting Celstia's spell and grabbing Spring Lock. Once it had a hold of the unconscious unicorn it pulled the body through the wall and into another burning room with two standing pillars. Twilight and Luna didn't notice what had happened until it was too late and teleported several yards from the castle where a large group of guards quickly emerged and surrounded them. "No! We have to go back!" Twilight shouted, trying to push pass the guards. Luna put a hoof on Twilight, making her stop her attempts. "No, Twilight! It's far too dangerous." "But Celestia is still in there." "Celestia will be fine!" She yelled, making Twilight recoil from her slightly, "She has trifled with far worse than an over-grown metal rabbit. I have faith that she will make it through this." Celestia charged through the hole in the wall and slammed into Springtrap, causing him to stumble and drop Spring Lock. She then charged at him again, this time tackling him to the ground and pinning him beneath her. "Trevor! Please stop this!" Springtrap lifted his head and slammed it into Celestia's, making her loose her footing which gave him more than enough of an opportunity to break out of her grip. He slid his arms out from under her hooves and reached up, wrapping his metal fingers around her neck as he pulled himself to his feet and threw her across the room and into a pillar. The pillar crack from the impact and started to crumble, causing the entire front half of the room collapsed on top of the princess, covering her in a mixture of soot, blackened tiles, and burning wood. He didn't bother watching as part of the ceiling caved in on top of her and instead turned his attention back to Spring Lock. As he made his way over he found his body suddenly being launched pass his target and into a wall by a broken piece of the pillar that had collapsed. Celestia pulled herself from the rubble. She had a few burns here and there, and one of her wings had broken and hung down by her side, but she wasn't done yet. She lifted another piece of the broken pillar with her magic and threw it at Springtrap. It slammed into him, making his suit crack in several places and even even breaking off part of his mask, revealing part of his decaying face. He pushed the pillar pieces off of him and shakily started walking toward Celestia. Celestia was staring at him with tears in her eyes, she didn't want to do this, but she didn't have a choice anymore. He wasn't going to stop, he would never stop. "Please Trevor...please..." She pleaded to the man who she loved so dearly. Spring Trap continued to make his way over to her, his eyes glowing bright red and only shining brighter as he let out an inhuman roar at her. There was no love left in his heart, no remorse in his eyes, all that was left was rage and death. Celestia closed her eyes and teleported beside Spring Lock before engulfing the unicorns body in her magic and making it vanish. Springtrap only seemed to get much angrier at this, of course. What else would happen, this wan't Trevor anymore. This was a monster, this was Springtrap. Celestia wasn't happy about this, but this was the only thing left. "I love you, Trevor." She said as Springtrap let out an ear-piercing screech and her lunged at her. Before he could make contact with her she used her magic to yank the last standing pillar in the room out of place and teleported away. The pillar let out a loud crack as it was pulled out of its original place and forced to the ground. The room around him started to shake and the ceiling started coming down, fast. He barely had the chance to take a step forward as the room above came down on top of him, burying him beneath layers upon layers of debris. The sensors in the suit were going haywire, flashing red with warning as he and the suit were both crushed and fire filled the room. Celestia appeared just a few feet from where Luna and Twilight had with Spring Lock laying not even a few inches from where she was. The guard had noticed her and were now on their way over to aid her; she couldn't have cared less though. Celestia looked up at her castle, it was surrounded by ponies of all kinds doing everything they could to stop the flames that were eating away at her home. The surrounding ponies all gasped and screamed as the towers caved in and fell into the base of structure, forcing up large black clouds of ash and soot. She didn't know if anypony else had heard it, but when the tower had fallen, she heard the same screech Springtrap had made when he lunged at her. With that she decided that it was about time for her to get some much needed rest and fainted in dirt just as the guards had reached her position. //-------------------------------------------------------// Never-ending Nightmare //-------------------------------------------------------// Author's Note It's late (4:44am), so there are probably a good amount of grammar issues in here. Please just point them out and I will fix them, but real quick I want to thank you all for reading his story. It's been really fun and I've enjoy (almost) every second of it. I hope to see you guys in the future, feel free to check out some of my other stories and once again, thank you all. Never-ending Nightmare Celestia awoke slowly, her eyelids heavy from exhaustion. She found herself in a small white room with a I.V. in one of her hooves. She looked to her side to see both her sister and Twilight resting and leaning into each other. The sight made Celestia giggle slightly, which seemed to be enough to pull the sleeping Princesses from their slumber. As Luna and Twilight awoke they noticed the position they were in, they were practically cuddling, and separated quickly wearing a light blush donning their features. However, their focused was pulled away from their slightly embarrassing predicament when they noticed that Celestia had awoken. They excited shouted her name in unison before charging over to her bed and smiling brightly at her. Twilight was the first to make it to the bedside and stared up at her fellow princess and friend. "Oh thank goodness! I thought you were never going to wake up." "My concerns bordered on the drastic side as well, sister. How are you feeling?" Luna asked, following up on Twilight's comment about feeling like she wasn't going to bounce back. She was pretty beat up when they found her. Cuts and bruises decorated her whole body as well as a few burns, her left wing had been broken, and she had a mild concussion. They could only imagine what had happened within the castles burning walls. Celestia took a moment to collect her thoughts and regather all that had happened. "I'm fine, do not worry for me. How is Spring Lock? Is he unharmed?" Twilight and Luna's features suddenly dropped as they both glanced at each other. "I'm sorry Princess, but Spring Lock didn't make it." Twilight explained, "He died two days ago. They did all they could, but he was old and the explosion roughed him up pretty badly." Celestia now wore her own downed expression. "I should have known. I did not believe he would have survived it, but I still held hope for the impossible. How long have I been here?" "You've been here for several days, sister. About a full week now if I am remembering correctly." Luna informed her. After what had happened and with her being in this condition the doctors thought it would be best to have the princess stay asleep until they were sure most of the pain would have passed. Celestia was a bit taken back by this. Had she really been asleep for seven whole days? Who knows how much she's missed, and poor Luna and Twilight would have had to be picking up the slack for her. Twilight could tell that Celestia was starting to overthink all of this and that was the last thing she needed to do. All that it would do is cause her stress and she didn't need that right now. "Don't worry Princess, Luna and I are taking care of everything." She said with a smile, "And, we are more than happy to keep working until you're feeling better." Celestia wore a heart warming smile, she was so grateful to have a student like Twilight and sister like Luna. They were so willing to help her in her time of need and it made her feel both loved and appreciated, something she doesn't feel too often while dealing with the petty Canterlot snobs. "Thank you, both of you." The two smiled at Celestia before a nurse entered the room. "I'm sorry to interrupt, but it's getting late and visiting hours are over." She explained in a slightly fearful fashion. She was very nervous about asking the princesses to leave and was very intimidated. Luna smiled to the nurse, helping to reduce the poor mare's fears, but only slightly. "Very well, we will be out shortly." As she said this the nurse exited the room in a somewhat professional fashion. "Well, we must be off sister. I hope that you will be better soon and don't try to worry yourself too much. Twilight and I can handle things for now." Celestia gave her sister a quick nod and her smile widened. "Thank you, I will do my best." With that the two princesses were off, Twilight giving Celestia a quick wave before closing the door, which Celestia responded to in kind. Now all she had left to do was sit here silently, alone, and bored. She wondered what she could do to help pass the time, but eventually find herself just becoming tired. Deciding not to fight the urge to sleep, she slumped down into the bed, burying herself under the thin hospital blankets draped over her and allowing herself to be consumed by what wonderful dreamland awaited her. If only she knew about the nightmare that awaited her. She was surrounded by darkness, the only visible thing being her and the cauterized remains of her castle. She couldn't move, she couldn't breath, it was like she was a statue; being forced to watch the empty world around her while being completely incapable to react or interfere. All she could do was watch, watch as pieces of her destroyed castle that rested on the ground started moving as if there was something beneath them, something alive and trying to get out. Suddenly a rusted metal hand broke the surface of the debris, planting itself firmly on the ground and forcing the rest of it's body out of the rubble. A cracked, rusted, and burnt Spring Bonnie suit made its way up out of the carnage. Chunks of metal were missing from it's body, half of it's right ear was broken off, and it's left eye missing. The abomination looked up at her, staring her down. Despite it's face being completely expressionless, she felt as though it was smiling at her. Before she could react a large black metal claw rose from the surrounding darkness, slamming down on top of the metal-suited corpse and dragged it away. Soon a familiar animatronic head appeared high in the sky, larger than life. It looked like Fredbear, but this one was different. For starters; it was completely black with a yellow hat and tie. But, more interestingly, it gave off an energy that made it feel much more sinister. Celestia awoke to a sudden knocking at her door. She reluctantly opened her eyes and looked over at the door. The knocking came again and she grunted slightly as she lifted herself out of the bed, grabbing the I.V. with her hoof and walking over to the door before using her magic to turn the nob and open it. Much to her surprise, there was nopony there. She peeked her head out the door, finding only hallways and darkness. She found this to be extremely odd, but wasn't sure how to deal with it. She figured that maybe there was a foal running around in here or something that was just looking to have a little fun. Celestia giggled at the thought of a young pony running around the hallways pulling pranks on some of the patients. The sun princess closed the door and locked it before turning to go back to her bed. Celestia froze dead in her tracks as she did this, seeing something sitting on the bed. It was small, like an animal, but it didn't seem to be doing anything. Her curiosity was going mad so she used her magic to create a decently bright light at the tip of her horn. What she saw made her gasp; On her bed was what looked like a small metal bear wearing a black hat and tie with sharp teeth and seemed to be twitching rapidly. Right as the light touched it the small bear vanished before Celestia could so much as blink. Her body made her head instinctively shoot left and right, looking for wherever that thing may have run off to. How could something so small move so fast, she wondered as she scanned the room with her eyes, her horn lighting every spot she faced. Sadly all of this was in vain as she couldn't find even a sign that the small bear was even actually there. Celestia was beginning to question her sanity now; maybe she was just seeing things? Celestia mentally demanded herself to stop her foalish behavior and closed her eyes as she took a deep breath. There was nothing there, you were just imagining things. It's late, you're tired, just go to bed and in the morning this whole thing will be just like a bad dream. As she went to take a step forward she bumped into something hard. Letting out a small grunt, she opened her eyes and rubbed the bridge of her muzzle before once again freezing in place. Standing in front of her was a tall dark figure resembling the much smaller creature she had just seen on her bed. Small, brown, and rusty; wearing a black hate and bow tie. Only this thing was standing much taller than Celestia and had three of the much smaller versions crawling across its body and staring at her all while still twitching madly. Celestia went to take a step back, but before she could the beast roared and lunged at her. She just barely managed to avoid the attack before running out of the door. Sprinting as fast as she could down the hallway, being slightly slowed down by the I.V. she was forced to keep hold of. She looked back to see the large metal bear charging down the hall after her. Unfortunately as Celstia tried desperately to escape she slammed into what felt like a wall, but upon further inspection turned out to be something entirely different. Metal legs with toes like knives and the body of a ravaged metal fox with a hook for a hand. It stared down at her with bright red eyes and screeched loudly, swinging it's hook at Celestia. She threw her I.V. at the beast, to which it responded by grabbing the medical tool and throwing it behind it. As the I.V. was thrown several feet away the tube connecting it to Celestia was yanked and gashed a small portion Celestia's hoof as well as tearing the vein it was fed into. Her white fur was stained red as she started bleeding heavily onto the floor. The sound of the metal bear coming closer echoed just behind her and Celestia looked over just in time to see it jump at her. She quickly ducked down, letting it fly over her head and into the metal demon fox. Seizing this opportunity she ran back into her room and slammed the door shut, locking it behind her and levitating the bed to use it as a barricade. Once she was sure the door was secure she started sifting through the draws and cabinets, eventually finding a set of gauze that she quickly used to wrap her bleeding hoof. They became stained on contact and didn't stop the blood flow, but it slowed it down and that would be good enough for now. She placed her hoof to the ground, applying weight to it to test how much it could take. It would be tolerable enough to run if needed, but not much else. If only her wing wasn't broken. She turned toward the window, not knowing just how high up she was. after opening it and looking down she saw that where she was now was much like where she was in her dream. The building was the only existing structure in this dark void. As she took a second to process this a large bi pedal figure dropped down and grabbed onto the ledge of her window. Celestia shrieked from the creatures sudden appearance and fell back, crawling away from the window. It's body was a dull blue and it had long rusted ears and wore a red bow tie. Much like the others it had rows of sharp teeth, glowing eyes, it's body was beaten and torn, and looked to be made of metal. As Celestia sat in place, frozen with fear, the animatronic demon bunny walked closer to her, reaching a hand out to grab her. Just as he was about to have her she shot a beam of magic at it, blasting a hole through it's chest and causing it to fall over lifelessly. That worked? That actually worked! She could feel a build up of something in her chest, something powerful. For the first time in a while she felt hope. She turned to face the door with a determined look on her face as the creatures on the other side started pounding and banging on the slab of wood. A yellow arm tore through the door, grabbing the bed and throwing it out of the way before removing it's arm and kicking the door open. The yellow demonic chicken-like animatronic swung it's arms at Celestia like a wild animal, only to be brought down in the same manner as the robotic-bunny that had crawled through the window. Celestia's body became surrounded in a golden aura and levitated off of the ground before hovering out into the hallway where she would turn to face the fox first. It charged at her, swinging it's hook at her head. The hook seemed to stop as it became surrounded in the same golden aura that she was surrounded in. The metal fox tried to move it's arm but soon found it being torn off of it's body. The hook arm was then used to beat the fox, slashing at it's face and breaking the metals that made up its face until the animatronic went still. She took a breath and tossed the arm aside, letting herself relax for a moment. However, that was quickly interrupted by the sound of a distorted electronic growl coming just a short distance behind her. Her body spun around to face the metal bear that stared her down from the end of the hall. It raised it's claw and pointed at her, roaring as it did so. At this the smaller bears leaped off of its body and moved at lightning speeds in her direction. Celestia caught them all in her magical grip and held them in the air. Their twitching seemed to increase as she overcharged them with her magic before they promptly exploded in the air. The metal bear growled once more as Celestia did this, all while shooting it a death glare. As the two stared down the other they charged; Celestia using her magic to fly at the beast while it sprinted toward her with its claws raised and ready to attack. Before they could get halfway down the hall the building started to shake, making them both stop dead in their tracks. The bear was about to continue charging Celestia, but suddenly became surrounded by rows of large sharp teeth that tore through the ceiling and the floor. The entire half of the hospital the animatronic was on had been annihilated by the head of the black Fredbear from her dream. It bit down on the building and took everything into it's mouth before chewing it to bits. Celestia stared in awe at the large Fredbear standing in the darkness that seemed to have no issues with eating the hospital. She though it would continue to bite at the building until there was nothing left, but instead it held out a massive closed claw and placed in near the opening it had made. Celestia stared at it curiously as it opened it's claw revealing a small toy that resembled the Spring Bonnie suit. The toy looked up at Celestia before climbing to its feet and jumping onto the hospital floor and walking toward her. She hovered back cautiously, which made the small Spring Bonnie stop. It waited for her to stop as well before continuing to walk over to her. This time Celestia waited to see what it would do. Once it was close enough it reached out a hand and grabbed Celestia's uninjured hoof, tugging on it slightly. Celestia lowered herself so she was standing on the ground again, but kept her magical guard up. The toy jumped up and grabbed her mane, using it to climb up to her face. Once up it grabbed her head and started hugging her. She didn't know why, but something about this made her...happy. It filled her with joy and made her feel like everything was alright. She could feel tears forming in her eyes as she let her magic die down and grabbed the toy, looking it over before pulling it into a tight embrace. Holding it made her feel whole, made her feel loved, like...she was with Trevor again. She stretched out her hooves, holding the toy up and eyeing it with a smile on her face. It started twitching slightly, which caused her smile to drop slightly. The twitching became worse with every passing second and soon after its eye's started glowing bright red and it grew long, razor-sharp teeth. It then reached up and pulled off it's right ear, then proceeded the rip out it's left eye before lunging at her. Celestia woke up screaming in the hospital bed. She had sweat pouring down her body and she was shaking as she started looking around the room in a panic. Jumping out of the bed to look around, she felt a tug on her hoof. Looking over she came to find an I.V. in her hoof, which surprised her. She walked over to the I.V. and grabbed it before walking over to the door and slowly looking outside of the room. The lights were all on and there was a nurse sitting in next to a monitor several rooms away from her. She closed the door and turned to the window, trotting over to open it and look outside. She could see the moon, Canterlot, some ponies wandering around, everything was fine. After closing the window and going back to the bed, Celestia took in a long, seep, well-deserved breath. Letting everything around her sink in. "It was just a dream." She muttered to herself, "It was just a dream..." Celestia leaned back and let her body plop down onto the bed with her hooves spread across the soft surface. She looked up at the clock, it was only three in the morning. She was not about to go back to sleep after that, but she wasn't apposed to getting comfortable and relaxing for a bit. She adjusted her body on the bed and let out a content sigh as she got cozy. Her eyes were starting to become heavy, but just as they were about to close she heard a voice say her name and was startled back to the waking world. She started looking around the room once again, her eyes scanning every visible surface it could find from her current position. "Who is it...Who's there!?" She shouted, starting to panic slightly. Her body froze one final time that night as she felt the bed shake beneath her. The body of an all too familiar animatronic crawling out from under her. It's body was a dull greenish color with cracks all about it; its right ear had been snapped off at some point and it was missing its left eye. While one eye was missing though, the other was glowing bright red as it stared at her, climbing to it's feet as it finally replied to her. "It's me..." All that could be heard on the other side was Springtrap unleashing an ungodly screeching noise as well as Celestia shrieking with a mixture of both fear and pain coursing through her tones. The End //-------------------------------------------------------// BONUS: Love Never Dies //-------------------------------------------------------// BONUS: Love Never Dies I came back...I came back and I finished the job. I killed that old bastard, the one who made me this way. He built this suit and made me go inside of it, and he killed me! But I wasn't done there. The magic he put into the suit preserved my brain and kept it fresh, practically still alive. Then one day the Princess, Twilight Sparkle, got nosy and started digging through my old workshop. She and Luna found me, they resurrected me by using magic on the suit and allowing its battery to charge. Bringing me back from the land of the dead. When I came back I saw my reflection through an old hacksaw and I was disgusted, infuriated, and desperate. I lashed out and broke everything in my way, scaring the princesses away from me in the process. When I was done, I practically crawled out of that room and begged them for help. They brought...her...they brought her to me. My sweet, Celestia. The look she gave me that day, it hurt me. It made me want to die all over again so I wouldn't disgust her any more than I already had. But then, something occurred to me. The events that led to me being this way were not my fault. No, they were his; It was Spring Lock who did this to me and turned me into this horrible creature. Suddenly, my mind was no longer filled with sadness, the depression I had felt when she gave me that look had vanished and been replaced with something much more powerful. I became filled with anger, hatred, rage...I wanted more than just simple revenge, I sought vengeance. He took my life, so I was going to take his, but not before I destroyed his precious little toys. Spring Lock was very lonely as a colt, he had no friends. Instead he had stuffed animals who he played with every day in his room, alone. His favorite of the bunch was teddy bear named Freddy. He had others as well. A bunny named Bonnie, a chicken named Chica, and a fox named Foxy. Thinking back on this story reminds me of how pathetic he was. As he got older he had some sort of epiphany, something in him woke up and told him that there were little fillies and colts out there that were just like him, scared and alone and locked up somewhere that they felt was where they belong. He wanted to change that, he wanted to create something that no pony else had ever made that would draw these poor foals from their homes and bring them outside and have a friend to play with; Disgusting. After many failed attempts he was about to give up, that was when I came along. I landed in this world, alone and confused, not knowing which way was up. I might have been a little more perceptive had I not landed on my head, heh heh. Anyway, his first reaction was to call the guard, but with how long it took them to get there he and I started talking. I offered to help him with his work, previously being heavily involved with mechanics back in my world, if he promised to help me get by in this world. He happily agreed and vouched for me to the guards. They were hesitant, to say the least, but they still demanded that I stand before the Princess and be judged by her royal hoof. Honestly, I was expecting some fat, nasty, tyrant to demand that my head be chopped off and put on a stake, but what I found was much more...there are no words for how it felt. She, herself, was regal in almost every way, but more so than that she was kind, soothing, beautiful, and loving. Once she was sure I wasn't a threat she offered to give me anything I needed to live comfortably. Remembering that old stallion from before I requested him by name and asked that he and I could both live in the castle to work on his project. She was surprised at first when she found out I had already built a friendship with some pony, but I have that effect on women no matter the species for just about everything I do, Heh heh. Joke's aside, Spring Lock and I got to work. I was only seventeen at the time, so many would argue that my feelings were just me being young or whatever, but in less than a month I started to feel something for Celestia, a feeling I had never felt with any woman from my world, several women who turned out to be a waste of my time. It was so foreign to me that I didn't even know what it was until Spring Lock figured it out and started teasing me relentlessly. I confronted Celestia about my feelings, I'm not a coward, and we started talking more. In a matter of weeks, she was mine. It was pretty easy. I had quite the reputation for taking what I wanted, especially if it was a woman. Yeah, I was that asshole. The one who was fully capable of stealing your girlfriend, and if you ever crossed me the wrong way, I would. Just to break your heart and hers. Celestia wasn't too comfortable with the idea of us being together. I was young and she thought it was my youthfulness just telling me that what I was feeling wasn't true and that she was much too old for me. I wasn't having any of that though. I know now what it was, it was love. I loved her and I let it be known. I didn't care that she was older than me, in fact, I preferred it. Whenever I was to date some one who was my age or younger they would become too attached, start digging into parts of my life where they didn't belong, and started drama left and right. Celestia wasn't like that. She respected my privacy, she would give me my space as long as I asked, and she was so mature. She didn't look for problems to start, she would solve problems all while holding herself together despite all of the work that came her way. I had so much respect for her and the only thing that could match that were my feelings for her. Intimacy was slow, which wasn't something I was used to at first, but with us both being new to this whole inter-species thing we both happily waited and took our time. However, after having a bit too much to drink on both of our accounts, we got that out of the way. She remembered bits and pieces and reprimanded me for underage drinking, but I remembered it all and never stopped. After that we made sure to consummate our love almost on a nightly basis. I never used to understand the difference between love and sex. In fact I never even believed in love, but after that, I could see it clear as day. I was in love and nothing was going to ruin it. In just two years I had made both the perfect marefriend, one of my greatest best friends, and had a very well-paying job that required me to do what I love, building and working with mechanics. This place was pretty far behind when it came to technology, but thanks to my beloved Celestia, special ordering parts was no problem. Then came that fateful day when Spring Lock and I finally finished the animatronics. They were perfect. I didn't really like the idea of making children happy, I always despised them, even in my world. I more preferred scaring them off and watching them run away screaming. So while Spring Lock wasn't looking I started my own little private project, but I think he caught me working on it late one night. I could have sworn I heard the back door close. Little did I know, Spring Lock was working on his own private project. The Spring Bonnie, doubling as both suit and animatronic. He had me step inside of the suit but broke the damn thing so I couldn't get out. He knew the suit had issues, he knew there was a chance I would be locked up inside of it. That motherfucker probably did it on purpose, set up the whole thing so he could kill me. Why? Maybe he wanted the glory for himself, the animatronics were done so what did he need me for? Maybe he wanted Celestia...You're lucky you're dead you useless sack of shit! I digress; Once I was in the suit he broke the crank, making it impossible for me to escape it's metal clutches. I pulled with all of my might, but it wouldn't come off. I tried moving around, it was a little awkward for a second, but it felt amazing. To be bale to move in a body that's bigger and stronger than your own, it feels great, you feel empowered. When I couldn't get the suit off I pulled up the mask and looked at the love of my life, she leaned forward and kissed me sweetly. I could feel my face getting warm as she did this, she always seemed to have that effect on me. She decided to try and pry the suit off of me with her magic, she was always so helpful when she wasn't working, and surrounded me in that beautiful golden glow. However, what Spring Lock failed to warn us about was that doing that would charge the suit and force it to go against the crank's adjustments and slam shut, breaking the spring locks within. As they broke they tore into my flesh and ripped my body apart. The pain was excruciating and unbearable, but it was all over as soon as that damn mask closed and cracked my skull, making room for the wires to burrow into my brain. I realize that some may point the blame at Celestia for using her magic on the suit and activating it, but no. It was a different circumstance. Spring Lock built the suit and knew what it was capable of. My beloved did not, she didn't know it would happen, she was just trying to help me, because she loved me. That's what you do when you love someone, you help them. So, in return for her trying to help me out of this hell of a suit, I'm going to help her out of the hell she called a life. In my rage, I did the one thing I swore I would never do, I hurt her. I found her in the hospital and sneaked into the room, hiding under the bed so I could listen to her breathing. I wanted her awake for when I finally popped up. And when she was finally up I pounced, coming out from under the bed and jumping onto her. She died that night, but I won't let that be the way that this story ends. I tore her head off and stuffed it inside of my suit, beside the batteries. The suit kept her brain fresh while I worked. Celestia accidentally aided in my death, but I could never kill her. I love her too much. Instead I will give her a life the likes of which she has never known. It took many months to finish this, especially in secrecy, but I've finally finished! Here and now standing before me is the most beautiful animatronic I have ever seen. Bright shining metal expertly painted white in the shape of the most lovely alicorn to have ever existed. It was relatively easy to build, in fact, what took the longest were the wings. She would be made of metal so flying was out of the question, unless I built the wings to have jet-like capabilities. If I were capable of winking right now, I would. Sadly that's another luxury I shall live without, but not Celestia. I gave her body every bit of luxury it deserved. Built to function like a normal body, all it needs is someone to control it; or rather, somepony. I opened the beautifully crafted metal head and pulled the original out from my body before placing it within the suit. A perfect fit, of course. I know my mare's body and I would only build it accordingly. Once placed accordingly and implanted with the proper wiring, I closed the head and pulled out several of my batteries. Two would be more than enough for me and I want my Celestia to have as much power as possible. So I shoved the three removed batteries into their components within the animatronic and watched as two bright blue lights shined from the once black sockets that had sat in their place prior to being powered. She looked around and looked at her new body before looking up at me. I heard her whisper my name and nodded to her. "Yes! It's me sweetheart, it's Trevor." I thought she would have been mad, I thought she would have tried to kill me and strip me of my parts until I was nothing more than a decaying skull and a pile of bolts, but she didn't. Instead she stared at me for a moment before pulling me into a powerful embrace that I couldn't help but return. It was so great to feel this again, to feel her here by my side, to feel loved once more. I guess it's true what they say; Love never dies. However, our job is not done yet, there is still so much work to be done and so much that still needs to be accomplished. My name is Springtrap and I'm here to do the devil's work; And with my beloved by my side, nothing will ever stop us. Nothing. Author's Note Plot Twist, Motherfucker
