James Volker is a history teacher, dedicating his life to mentoring the youth of urban Brooklyn. With a speckled past such as his, it's no wonder he strives to turn his budding teenage students away from the same mistakes he made as a young man.
After a particular vehicular accident, James finds himself awakening in a certain village's fountain, surrounded by creatures he could have sworn had popped straight out of a child’s storybook.
What, then, happens when Equestria's benevolent ruler decides to engage him in a culture exchange with her student, Twilight Sparkle?
