Global warming is an event that we all feared would happen, and it has begun! I had to leave many civillians in cryogenic freezing below the earth, as it was the only way to keep them cool, let alone safe. I had to find a way to restore the ozone layer even if it meant burning my flank off, instead, I had caused an apocalypse. Now one the civillians I had left in freezing needs to awaken and search for the cryopod that I had escaped into, that way we can both set this post-apocalyptic world right once again!

Chapter 1: War... has changed

Starlight Glimmer was resting in her cryopod for many, many years, and then something happened that she never expected happened: she woke up!

"I am... awake?"

There was a tape recorder on the desk next to her, it was beeping softly and flashing green on the play button. Starlight pressed the button, and the voice of Twilight Sparkle came out.

"Starlight, if you're hearing this, then you must have woke up! Good! However... by the time you do hear this, I will be in cryosleep myself... and somewhere else in Equestria, I couldn't tell you where though... but the reason I did it is because it was the only way for me to survive any longer. And I need you to awake me Starlight! our friends are dead and the only ponies you can trust anymore are the ones living in Ponyville! Next to this recorder is a three-directional plasma-epee, you're gonna need it Starlight! Even with magic as powerful as your's! And next to your chamber is Rarity's little sister Sweetie Belle... as a robot, in order to activate her you need to levitate her out of her station. Once active however, she won't be her normal cheery sel--"

The audio cut out.

"Won't be her normal cheery self? Then what will she be like? Mature?"

Starlight hadn't a clue, but she had to go with it. She levitated the "three-directional plasma-epee" that Twilight had mentioned, and it looked like a short metal tube with two slimmer, smoother ones coiling around it, both facing opposite directions horizantally at the top. There was a switch in the middle, Starlight used her levitation to flick it, and she was amazed! It shot a one-meter long red lazer out the top and two shorter ones out the tubes that coiled around it, so it looked like she was levitating a red, upside-down 'T'. Starlight swung it back and forth, and her mind was blown! She then switched the the plasma-epee off, and turned her head back towards where Twilight said Sweetie Belle was, and Sweetie looked like a white, filly with a lavender, pink swirly mane. She appeared to be a deactivated robot, resting in a metal box. Since Twilight had said Sweetie was activated by levitating her out, that's just what Starlight did, and then Sweetie's eyes opened, and they were hazel, yet they were robotic. And then Sweetie Belle spoke, with the voice of a robot.

"WOAH!"

Starlight was shocked enough to drop her.

"I CANNOT BELIEVE IT! I AM STILL ALIVE!?"

"I... guess?"

"ALTHOUGH I FEEL STRANGELEY LIKE A ROBOT."

"Well, you sure look like it, and sound like it."

"I GUESS THAT WOULD CONFIRM IT THEN. ANYWAYS I'M SWEETIE BELLE, AND WHAT'S YOUR NAME?"

"I'm Starlight Glimmer, but... how exactly did you end up this way?"

"WELL... THE LAST THING I REMEMBER WAS WHEN I WAS HELPING MY FRIENDS OUT, AND AT ONE POINT THEY WERE MURDERED IN FRONT OF ME WITH ME, PINKIE AND TWILIGHT WERE THE ONLY SURVIVERS, AND WHILE TROTTING THROUGH THE EVERFREE FOREST I HAD HEARD THE SOUND OF A PLASMA-EPEE ACTIVATING AND THEN..."

"And then...?"

"I NEVER KNEW WHAT HIT HIT ME. ALL I KNEW WAS THAT I DIED!"

"And you were revived as a robot?"

"APPARANTLY."

"And Twilight left me a note to find her in a freezing chamber somewhere in Equestria."

"WELL, WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR? LET'S GO!"

Starlight then trotted out of the underground alongside Sweetie,

If the only ponies you can trust are the ones living in ponyville, then what must have happened to Equestria!?

Starlight wondered,

All of Equestria must have gone to complete chaos!

She couldn't imagine what possibly could've happened to Equestria, not that she even wanted to.

When they got out, it was a wasteland. All of Ponyville was completely condemned, even the few survivers that were over there looked comepletely poor, and beat up. Starlight was too horrified about this to realize right away that she was heating up quiickly.

"I AM SURE THAT YOU HAVE NOTICED THE EXTREME HEAT? IF YOU GET HOT ENOUGH OUT HERE YOU WILL BE SUNBURNED, AND ENOUGH OF THAT SUNBURN WILL SET YOU ON FIRE. THE ONLY WAY TO REDUCE SUNBURN IS BY SEEING A DOCTOR, OR BY USING ICE. IT APPEARS THOUGH, THAT AS A ROBOT, I AM IMMUNE TO THE HEAT."

This is when Starlight started to get afraid, knowing that it was that easy to find herself dead at any time without her realizing it.

"WELL, WE DON'T HAVE ANY QUILLS RIGHT NOW, SO WE MIGHT AS WELL FIND WAYS TO GET SOME."

"Quills?"

"OH YEAH, I FORGOT TO MENTION, THEY STARTED USING QUILLS AS CURRENCY."

Starlight felt that the civillians there would have some quills themselves, and the best way to obtain them would be if she did something for them. Starlight trotted up to the nearest pony there, Sweetie coming along.

"Uh... excuse me, but..."

The pony stopped her right there and said:

"I take it you're new to this wasteland?"

"...Yes actually, but..."

"Then you're gonna need some quills, i'm gonna offer you 500 quills so long as you do me a favor."

"What can I do for you then?"

"Do you see that castle over there?"

He pointed towards the castle that Starlight knew had to have been Twilight's castle, but it looked dirty, and red instead of cyan.

"Yes, I do see that castle."

"Well, it's been overrun by griffons, and they have weaponry more advanced than anypony here could even stand a chance against. But you have a robot on your side, and robots are extremely rare, as they have the power of 15 nuclear warheads. You'll surely be able to take back the castle."

Starlight knew that this seemed pretty extreme, but she never knew that as a robot, Sweetie was that dangerous. Either way, she had to accept.

"I'll do it."

"Okay, let me know when do rid the castle of those griffons completely."

Author's Note

Please excuse this story, I originally intended to make this my own equivalent to FALLOUT, but ultimately decided it unnecessary.

Also the "three-directional plasma-epee" is what Star Wars fans would call a "Kylo Renn Lightsaber"

Chapter 2: Take Back The Castle!

As Starlight made her way to Twilight's castle, she started wondering about Sweetie Belle's capabiities as a robot.

"Are you really like he said you were?"

"WELL AS A ROBOT, I HAVE MACHINE GUNS AND ROCKET-PROPELLED GRENADES (RPG). ALL OF WHICH FIRE AT TWENTY MILES PER SECOND, AND I CAN POP THEM OUT AND BACK IN AT ANYTIME. I CAN EVEN FEEL THEM LIKE LIMBS."

"Is that what you meant when you said you feel strangely like a robot?"

"WELL, YES."

Sweetie smiled,

"I ALSO HAVE CLOAKING FIELDS, THAT CAN BE ACTIVATED JUST AS EASILY."

"Seems kind of over-the-top, if you ask me."

"SO IS EVERYTHING ELSE THAT I HAVE SEEN IN THIS WASTELAND."

When they entered the castle, Starlight's first thought was: He was right, there are griffons everywhere in here!. All of the griffons were covered in scars, at the entrance there were three griffons wielding Sub-Machine Guns. Starlight immediately pulled out her Plasma-Epee, and blocked every bullet fired at her and Sweetie; slicing through the griffons, blood spraying out of them and guts falling out.

"WOAH! YOU HAVE A THREE-DIRECTIONAL PLASMA-EPEE!?"

"Er... yes, why?"

"THERE ARE ONLY FOUR PLASMA-EPEES IN GENERAL! AND THE ONLY OTHER THREE-DIRECTIONAL ONE IS OWNED BY TWIGHT!"

"I didn't know these were rare! This was just next to the recorded message that Twilight left behind!"

They moved on to the castle's hallways, griffons everywhere! Griffons with assault rifles, griffons with shotguns, griffons with grenades! Even with Starlight slicing them all up AND Sweetie making swiss cheese out of them and blowing them up, more of them starting to come out the doors!

"YEESH! HOW MANY GRIFFONS EVEN ARE THERE!?"

Eventually they cleared the hallway of griffons, it took until then for them to realize that there was blood and intestines everywhere, the bones of the dead griffons were completely exposed.

"WELL! WE SURE MADE A MESS!"

"You think!?"

"IF I WASN'T A ROBOT RIGHT NOW, I'D BE THROWING UP."

Once they got to the main room, they found a mutated griffon, it was big enough to take up a quarter of the room!

"What!? Is!? That!?"

"A GRIFFON BEHEMOTH, AN ARMY OF A MILLION COULDN'T STOP IT."

It roared so loud that Starlight's ears stared to ring. Sweetie Belle started cloaking, attacking it without it being able to see her, whereas Starlight tried teleporting around it for attacks; even casting magic wouldn't work. It kept clawing at them, sometimes piercing the walls.

What do I do?

Starlight, at one point, tried teleporting behind one of the doors. Breathing heavily, she noticed a spellbook with a bookmark in it.

"Maybe this will help."

Starlight opened the book to the page that had the bookmark. And she found just what she needed; A Killing Curse! After she read how to do the spell, she decided to keep the book, and opened the doors.

"IT'S NO USE! IT JUST CAN'T SEEM TO DIE!"

Sweetie was still cloaked,

"I just now got what we need!"

"I HOPE YOU'RE RIGHT!"

Starlight galloped up to the Griffon Behemoth, it turned to her. And just as it was raising it's claw to strike, Starlight waved her horn and yelled:

"Ego Sum Mortem!!!"

And a beam of siezure-inducing green lightning shot out of her horn and directly into the Griffon Behemoth's heart, stopping it right there. It kept roaring in agony, crippling down until it was dead. And the lightning stopped, with Starlight falling down due to having just drained herself of her energy.

"WOAH!!! WHAT DID YOU DO?"

Sweetie uncloaked,

"I casted a killing curse on it, I found it bookmarked in a book that I found in the other room."

"WOW! THE POWER TO KILL ANYTHING! LET'S HEAD BACK."

"Okay."

Starlight got back up, regaining her energy. The castle went back to the cyan state it was before.

QUEST COMPLETED: TAKE BACK THE CASTLE!

Author's Note

I forgot to mention before, that I made Starlight the main protagonist. Unlike most of the time.

"Ego Sum Mortem"? How about "Avade Kedavre"? Yeah that's better.

Chapter 3: Ozies

"Really? You slayed a behemoth? How?"

"I teleported into the library and found a Killing Curse."

"Hmm..."

"What's wrong?"

"Using the Killing Curse has been known to fill ponies with demonic rage, turning them evil. Make sure never to use it unless you absolutely need to, okay?"

"O...kay?"

"Good."

Starlight got curious about how the Killing Curse could turn somepony evil. The pony gave Starlight the promised quills.

"Maybe now that i've helped you, you can help me."

"What do you need?"

"I'm looking for Twilight Sparkle, know where she might be?"

"Twilight Sparkle? Last I heard, she was in Manehattan, I would have heard by now if she had gone anywhere else."

"NOW I REMEMBER! WE HAD BEEN HEADING TOWARDS MANEHATTAN TO GO TO TROTTINGHAM!"

"Trottingham? Yeesh! No wonder I hadn't heard, that place is too hostile for anypony to go there."

Starlight got worried, just to imagine if something might've happened to Twilight! But, she decided to calm down.

"I appreciate the help."

They headed for the Everfree Forest, because then they could go to FIllydelphia, and head for Manehattan from there. Once they were in the Everfree Forest, they encountered what appeared to be sunburned zombies with 'boiling' skin.

"OH NO! OZIES! KILL 'EM! KILL 'EM!!!"

Sweetie Bot gunned them down like crazy, with RPG's involved; now their all puddles of blood.

"Overkill much?"

"IT AIN'T OVER!"

They completely regenerated, Starlight got the Plasma-Epee; started hacking away at them all (this time, without Sweetie Bot firing anything). They didn't regenerate.

"WAIT A MINUTE! THEY SHOULD'VE REGENERATED BY NOW! THEY EITHER GOT DELAYED, OR THEIR GONE FOR GOOD. EITHER WAY, WE SHOULD GET GOIN'!"

She started running away; her guns still out. Starlight couldn't agree more, so she followed Sweetie.

Author's Note

Here's a couple of spoilers if you're okay with them: (Comments may contain these spoilers)
"Killing Curse"? By this point, those of you Harry Potter fans out there will expect a Cruciatus Curse and an Imperius Curse, those expectations will be correct. The Ozies are from an expirement Twilight preforrmed, in which she tried creating a drug that would give full immunity to the harsh sunlight; it... sort of worked. Sure now they're a new type of zombie that regenerates any wound like titans if blood shows, but they're immune to heat nonetheless :twilightsheepish: .
