I was unconscious, I could feel my head bleeding, and I was on a stretcher.

“Applejack, how long was he like this?” Dr. Stable asked.

“I don’t know doc, he was barely moving when I found him, I just heard a crash, and I ran over to see what it was, and then, I found him there.”

“Dr., he’s going into shock!” Nurse Redheart said.

“Shit, what’s his pulse?”

“30 bpm” Nurse Redheart responded.

“Oh Celestia we’re gonna lose him! Get the crash cart ready NOW! come on, stay with me damnit, stay with me.”

(1 hour earlier)

“Fedex 183 heavy, descend and maintain 1-3-thousand, reduce speed to 240 knots, and contact NORCAL approach on 135.2” said an air traffic controller.

“Descend and maintain 1-3-thousand, reduce speed to 240 knots, and we’ll contact NORCAL approach on 135.2, have a good day” I replied.

For those of you who don’t know who I am,  I am TheSpeedyPatriot, a 49 year old brony, a retired Navy veteran, and a veteran FedEx captain with over 11,000 flight hours logged in my favorite aircraft, the DC-10, and with me is my co-pilot, first officer John Kimberly, a captain ranked pilot with over 9,000 hours in this aircraft, this was my first time flying with him, since my usual co-pilot called in sick.

“Alright John, your aircraft.”

“Roger, my aircraft.”

“NORCAL approach, FedEx 183 heavy, inbound, 50 miles out at 1-9-thousand, descending to 1-3-thousand.” I said.

“FedEx 183 heavy, NORCAL approach, copy, altimeter is 2912.”

“Hey captain I need to use the lavatory real quick, can you take over”?

“okay, make it quick” I answered.

“American 2403, you’ve go inbound traffic at 11 o'clock, descending through flight level 1-8-0, 5 miles out, FedEx DC-10, report in sight, please” NORCAL reported.

“American 2403, looking.”

“FedEx 183 heavy, Descend and maintain 7-thousand, turn left heading 2-5-0.”

As soon as NORCAL sent the message, my co-pilot came out of the lavatory and began turning towards me, and as soon as I saw him, he pulled out a hammer and ran straight at me, realizing he was trying to kill me, I immediately figured out that, I had a very powerful, and dangerous weapon in my hands, and that was the aircraft itself. Disengaging the autopilot, I pulled the nose up into a sudden 20 degree climb but John was able to quickly grab the cockpit door, and pull himself into the cockpit, then I immediately rolled the airplane left to about 50 degrees, and then reversed the roll, throwing John into the side of the plane, temporarily disorientating him, while he was dazed, I unfastened my harness, hooked my right foot over the yoke, and prepared to fight.

John attempted to hit me with the hammer but when he did, I yanked my leg up, throwing the yoke to the right, rolling the aircraft to 140 degrees in that direction, (commercial aircraft are not meant to roll more that 60 degrees). Then I pushed John back and pulled back on the yoke, sending the DC-10 into a deadly dive, as the G-forces began to increase, I grabbed my seat and hung on for dear life, while John disappeared into the galley.

With John out of action, I had to level the aircraft before it crashed, when I got back into my seat, I realized that the airspeed was dangerously fast, so I quickly rolled the aircraft out of it's dive, idled the engines, and deployed the speed brakes, to slow down.

“NORCAL approach, FedEx 183 heavy, mayday, mayday, mayday!” I yelled.

“FedEx 183 heavy state your emergency.”

“FedEx 183 heavy, We’ve had an attempted takeover aboard”.

“Roger, is the situation under or is it still in progress?"

"I think it's under control" I answered

"Okay, Fedex 183 heavy, airport is at your 12 o'clock, 25 miles out, winds 3-3-2 at 1-5 proceed direct towards the airport if able, all runways will be cleared for you, emergency equipment, and armed personel will be standing by, contact  tower on 124.0, good luck.”

“Roger 124.0”

As I began descending, John came back into the cockpit, and hit me hard with a 20 ounce framing hammer, causing me to lose consciousness. I awoke about 30 minutes later, and realized, I was no longer in the cockpit, which was now deadlocked, which meant I couldn’t get in.

“JOHN, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?” I yelled.

He didn't answer.

“John, I don't know what hppened or why you're doing this, but this won't fix anything, please don’t do this, JOHN PLEASE WE CAN FIX THIS, JOHN....JOHN...JOHN!” I yelled as began banging on the door, but he didn’t listen. I thought hard, I couldn’t persuade him, there’s no way I can take back the aircraft, so I decided to write a letter to my parents, and sibling back home.

"Mom, dad, everyone, I know I said  I was coming home, but I’m really sorry I can’t be there for anyone, with death nearly inevitable, my story is coming to a close, but it was one hell of a story that I’ll cherish for all eternity, don’t dread over my passing, instead, remember all the good times we had together, there’s still one last thing I’ve got to do before it’s all over, please let everyone know what’s happened, even my fans, because I love you, and this is my one last letter to you, Love, your greatest son on board this plane, Frederick Owen a.k.a. TheSpeedyPatriot."

I folded the letter, put it in an empty briefcase, said a final prayer, and went to work. The plane’s below 10,000ft, so it’s gonna be harder for this to work, but if I can open the cargo door, then that’ll cause the air to be sucked out of the plane, and maybe a wing or tail surface would be destroyed, causing the plane to crash.

“John, I’m sorry, please forgive me, but these people’s lives matter more than ours.”

“Wait, WHAT’RE YOU DOING” he yelled.

“IF I GO DOWN I’M TAKING YOU WITH ME!” I yelled as I opened the cargo door.

Air immediately started gushing out, and the door fell off it’s hinges, and blew away, barely a second later I felt the door hit the tail, and the plane begin spiraling to it’s doom. From the cockpit, I could hear my co-pilot yelling.

“GERONIMOOOOOOOO!” I yelled in my best 11th Doctor impression.

A second later, the plane hit the ground hard, and exploded as I blacked out.

"FedEx 183 heavy, radar contact lost, FedEx 183 heavy, this is NORCAL approach, do you copy?"

With no response from the stricken DC-10, the approach controller contacted emergency personnel.

"This is NORCAL approach on 135.2, we've had a FedEx DC-10 crash 1 mile northeast of San Francisco."
