I look quietly out the window of Twilight's library. She is older, taller than when my mother was a young adult. She still runs the library, and I come on an almost daily basis. Huh! Who am I tryin' to kidd? I do come on a daily basis. A routine.

"Zoella," She calls through the shelves of books. I hear her walk over "Are you still here?" She chuckles softly as if it's a joke. I nod.

"Yeah, I,uh, had to catch up on my reading. You know how it is..." I say, and she frowns. I close up the book and she floats it away to the shelves.

"You should be out with other mares your age," She says "You need friendship. I should know that!" I scoff, and my Scottish accent rings out without me in control.

"I don't need friends! Friends are distractions!!" As soon as I say it, I cover my mouth. "Twilight! I'm so sorry! I-I didn't mean it!" Twilight looks brought down, and she clucks her tongue.

"Friends are not distractions, Zoella. And how dare you speak of it that way. I forgive you, though." Twilight says softly. "Now, run along. It's getting a bit late. Your mother would want you home." I nod and bow, taking my leave upon Twilight. I trot swiftly down the street, a soft drizzle  bouncing off my macaroon coat. My rosewood red mane tied into pig tails, my bangs falling into my face. I brush them away, stopping when I hear a rustle down an alley a few streets down from my house. I slowly walk down, trying desperately to keep them out of my eyes.

"Ello? Anypony there?" I call. I squint through my hair, not even having the motivation to move my bangs anymore. Suddenly, a brown stallion pops up just inches from my snout. "Ahh!" I yell, tripping over my own hooves in my attempt to run.

"Woah, steady now!" The stallion says. He comes over and pulls me up. "Mind telling me where I am? The year, too?"

"Ponyville, 2016." I say, fixing my mane. "Mind telling me what that.. thing is?" I gesture to a blue box, weird labels and pictures on it. I then notice his accent.

"Before I tell you anything, what's your name?" He asks

"Zoella. Zoella Alderson." I say.

"Alderson, Alderson, Alderson, Alderson," He keeps repeating it for a moment before blurting out "My new companion! You are my new companion. Of course, this was arranged long ago." I study his face, and he seems familiar.

"Wh-what? Who are you?" I question, laying my ears back to show I am not playing.

"I am the Doctor," He looks at my confused expression and sighs "Your mother never told you. C'mon." He trots confidently out, chest puffed and his head high. He takes long strides and his steps are high. I run after him, taking three steps to one of his. My head is low, and I know I am trying to disappear.
