The border of the portal cracked under Indigo Zap's weight. Her fingers pierced the ground and she struggled to keep herself suspended. Indigo tried to drag her beaten body back onto solid ground, but she was sadly unsuccessful. The only foundation under her right hand shattered, leaving her dangling from her left hand over Equestria. "Help!" Nobody heard her. "He-," she was cut off by the sound of shattering and the feeling of weightlessness. Indigo's stomach lurched and it felt as though it's position had risen. She for gasped air, the cold wind whipping past froze the moisture in her nostrils. It pushed through her eyelids, burning her eyes. Indigo Zap's flailing arms groped for the goggles strapped to her head. She grabbed the metal frame of them and began pulling them over the bridge of her nose. Suddenly, something her struck her right side and everything went black.
Indigo woke up with a stabbing headache. She clenched her eyes shut as the sun streamed through her eyelids. Her eyes slowly opened. Suddenly, her stomach lurched and she vomited. Vomiting, she thought, probably not a concussion. Indigo wiped her mouth and closed her eyes once again. She laid her head back, the soft grass brushing against her cheeks. Then, a jolt of searing pain shot through her. She opened her eyes and sat up. Everything in view was doubled and seemed to sway. Her back burned like a flame. Indigo's sore arm felt around on her back until she found not only a large lump but the source of her discomfort. She pressed her hand against it, the pain increased and then ceased. She brought her hand back into her line of sight and was shocked by not only the amount of crimson blood that had soaked into it, but the shape. It wasn't even a hand. "A hoof?" Indigo said curiously, the taste of bile still staining her mouth. She looked down and saw two more hooves as well as her bare flank. "How. I. Wait. I'm a," she stammered, "pony?"
