The vine unwound from Twilight's leg and disappeared back into the ground.   "What was that" Rarity asked shaking in her chair.   "I have no idea" Twilight replied" but right now we need to get to the Canterlot Castle soon to find out more about what happened to Princess Luna."   They all got up and raced to the train station as quickly as they could. They got on the first train to Canterlot. As soon as the train left Pony Ville, Twilight began to explain everything to her friends. She pulled the letter out of her saddlebag and handed it first to Applejack, who then passed to the others.   "Oh, my goodness" Rarity exclaimed "I do hope Princess Luna is alright!"   "Me too" Fluttershy said looking worried after she read the letter.   Then the train pulled into the Canterlot train station. The girls got off the train and ran through the city to the castle. The guards opened the castle door and led them to the room where the Princess Sister's were.   Twilight opened the door very gently. The girls walked in and looked first to the bed where Luna lay and then to the window where Celestia  stood staring out the window to the beautiful gardens below.   "Celestia" Twilight asked" are you ok."   "Twilight" Celestia said running over and hugging Twilight" I'm just worried about my sister."   Then she used her magic to float something onto the floor in front of Twilight and her friends. It was a red and had an orange flame on the front.   "This is the Amulet of Fire" Celestia said .   Twilight reached out and touched the Amulet. "No" Celestia screamed but nothing happened when Twilight  touched it. //-------------------------------------------------------// Twilight's Big Surprise //-------------------------------------------------------// Twilight's Big Surprise   It was a beautiful day in Pony Ville. The sun was shining, phillies and colts were playing, and Twilight Sparkle was sitting in her castle library reading a book on the history of Equestria. Twilight sat there like a statue staring at the book on the table in front of her. She loves books almost as much as her friends, but today she just didn't feel like reading. She layed her head down on the book and sighed.   "What's wrong Twilight" asked her dragon helper Spike.   "Nothing" Twilight said.   "Twilight, I can tell that something is wrong" he said, setting down the stack of books he was holding.   "Well, you know today is my birthday and I wanted to spend the day with my friends, but they didn't come today."   Suddenly the library door burst open. Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, and Pinkie Pie, walked in.   "Happy Birthday Twilight" Pinkie Pie shouted.   "Hi, girls" Twilight said "I was hoping you would come by today."   "We have a big surprise for you" Applejack said "you just need to close your eyes and come with us."   Twilight closed her eyes and Fluttershy grabbed her hand and led her towards the front door of the castle. Spike reached behind a stack of books and pulled out a purple box wrapped in a pink ribbon with a pink bow on top. Then he, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie walked out the door.   They walked for a while and then they stopped.   "Ok, darling you can open your eyes now" Rarity said.   Twilight opened her eyes and they were standing in the cave by the tree of Harmony. The cave was decorated with ribbons and  bows. In one corner of the cave there were two tables. On one table there was a cake and cups of lemonade. On the other tables sat presents. Twilight turned around.   "Happy Birthday" all of her friends shouted together.   Twilight stood shocked at what her friends had done for her. //-------------------------------------------------------// The Big News //-------------------------------------------------------// The Big News   It was almost midnight and Twilight was having an amazing time. Pinkie Pie turned up the music and danced out of the cave. When she came back she started serving everyone a piece of cake.   "This is so amazing" said Twilight "but I'm getting pretty tired so I'm going back to my castle."    Then using her magic she picked up the sleeping Spike and flew off back to the castle.Twilight flew through the forest, dodging trees.   When she reached the castle she walked through the front door to her bedroom. She set Spike down in his bed and covered him with his  blanket. She walked over to the window and looked up at the moon. She thought of Princess Luna. Then she got into her bed and turned the lights off. She rolled over and over in her bed and finally fell asleep.   "Twilight, Twilight, Twilight" Spike said running into the room.   "What is it, Spike" Twilight asked sitting up and rubbing her eyes.   "A letter just came from Princess Celestia" he said.   Twilight jumped out of bed and fixed the blankets as quick as she could. She grabbed the letter and stood staring down at the piece of paper. The letter read: Dear Twilight, recently me and Luna received a strange amulet from an unknown pony. We were curious about this mysterious item. We searched the box which it was sent in and we found a letter that said it was called The Amulet of Fire. Luna was so curious about the amulet she tried to put it on but when she touched it she became very ill. Please come to the castle with your friends as soon as possible. Yours Truly, Celestia.   Twilight gasped. Then she put Spike on her back and raced out of the castle to find her friends. After searching for a few minutes she finally found them in Sugar Cube Corner.   "What's wrong, Twilight" Fluttershy asked looking concerned.   "We need to get to the Canterlot castle as soon as possible" Twilight said "something is wrong with Princess Luna!"   All of her friends gasped at the thought  of Princess Luna being in danger. Then suddenly out of nowhere a black vine reached out of the ground and grabbed Twilight's leg. She screamed.
